Got the Old Fashioned Meatloaf plus an add on salad. Everything was quite good. The salad was very fresh and topped with carrots, corn, cucumbers, red onions and tomatoes. The meatloaf had a good texture. The mashed potatoes were buttery and creamy. I think I tasted a hint of garlic in the creamed spinach. Service was very friendly.

Was supposed to be sloppy joes sandwich but it's a pulled pork sandwich

This place is usually very good and caring. I placed an order this past Sunday. Two orders matter of fact, one was sloppy Joe's the other garden burger. My family enjoyed the garden burger which comes with a salad. When I started eating my sloppy Joe's, it tasted funny. I thought maybe it was the sauce, but as I got half ay I looked at it and it was a pulled pork sandwich! I sent a msg to this establishment first but no reply so im helping. Didn't want to but just want them to pay close attention to their orders for take out. Please correct this

Menu is quite large with plenty of dishes to pick from. I'd say there's something for every palate here. The two servers yesterday were pleasant, attentive, not overly sweet they were chill. Which I appreciate. I was having lunch alone so I just wanted to relax and they delivered on that note. I ordered the warm spinach salad but I ordered extra fried goat cheese because it only came with one medallion. Other than that the salad was amazing. I'll be back for the fish menu. Oh and the actual restaurant atmosphere is chill and mellow. Casual but classy.

Dinner with a friend with their FB special buy one get one free burger OR brunch offer. Main parking lot was pretty full but not a lot of folks at Misto. Greeted right away as there were plenty of tables to choose from. We were handed menus, drink order taken and a small bucket of bread and an Olive tapenade/olive oil spread. I ordered the California Burger and my friend ordered the Classic Cheeseburger. Both came with a cole slaw and dill pickle slices. I had sweet potato fries. She had classic fries. The menu says sweet potato fries can be substituted but it doesn't say for an additional $3.59 nor did the waiter mention it. The portion of sweet potato fries was less than half of the side of French fries. Although both were delicious, it should have been mentioned in the menu and by the waiter. Burgers were healthy in size and delicious. Cole slaw was from a jar and didn't taste good. Thanks for the BOGO offer but still upset about the unpublished substitution charge. Ok, bye.

Still a quaint, little hidden gem in the Hillside Village on Hawthorne Boulevard right before you head up the hill. A nice place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I always recommend the tomato bisque. During lunch, you can get a soup and salad combo. the service is quick and professional. I had the tomato bisque and a calamari salad. Both were very good.

Misto is a cute and hidden cafe in South Torrance's Hillside Village. Lately our timing has been good on arrival at the last couple of eateries. Upon arrival, the Mr. and I had our choice anywhere for outdoor or indoor seating. There was only one other couple dining in for linner (late lunch or early dinner lol). On a hot south bay day, there were a lot of flies in their outdoor patio so, outdoor dining was not looking good. After us, more diners came in and sat indoors and out. We sat somewhat close to their bar and TV with a soccer game on. The wait staff were super nice and attentive. They brought us bread and oils to start out. A little fly did come by that I had to shoo away w/my hand. As for the mains, it reminded me of 3 star corporate diner type places. My club sandwich was kinda tasty and I liked the shoestring fries. The Mr. chose the chicken ravioli and a tomato bisque soup. Both alright and not too impressive. Ravioli needed to be seasoned better. Ambience is chill. I liked their jazz and swing music on their playlist. Will we return here? Probably not but, hope they can make adjustments for the better.

Do they allow dogs in the outdoor dining area, we have a puppy?

Probably but dogs at a restaurant is gross. Also people taking dogs into the grocery store is not sanitary!

They have seating on the patio and inside with both tables and booths or at the bar. The decor is fun with bright vibrant colors and picturesque walls. Food was decent, though basic and (see picture of Truffle Fries, they should have spent a few more seconds in the fryer to get at least a little golden and have some crispiness rather than blanched and lackluster). The Machaca Scramble was the most flavorful and best tasting dish we had at our table as the corned beef hash and eggs were standard (not bad but nothing to Yelp rave about). By far the best part was the Bottomless Mimosas which are offered everyday, not just on the weekends! Big bonus! Our server was attentive and had a happy disposition. I felt Serendipity has so much great potential, between the decor, service and bottomless mimosas I'd imagine they would have more birthdays or group celebrations going on, especially for such a large space. But the vibe was a bit off with the low playing Spanish music, I would imagine if they had more pop music or upbeat music to fit the vibe of the place they'd have more of a fun vibe. Not that there is anything wrong with Spanish music, it just wasn't jiving with the vibe of the place and was so low and not so up beat (romantic Spanish ballads were playing). The laminated menus also gave an old diner vibe instead of trendy "serendipity" vibe. I'll still come back to see if they can match the vibe to the decor and try a few other menu items, but I do hope they up the ambiance. And get that extra star status!

The restaurant has inside seating for 40 guests and outside for 30. We arrived between breakfast and lunchtime and were able to get the last outside table. The attentive staff got us seated right away, and after browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items (arrived in 15 minutes) : Marine: The buckwheat outer layer was soft, not soggy, and with nice resistance. The light creamy tomato-based dressing with sliced mushrooms was pleasantly flavorful. Both shrimp and scallops were of good size, fresh and juicy. Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Seasoned bacon, scrambled egg, onion, and mushroom added nice savoriness to the dish. The portions were sensible and the prices were reasonable. Very nice culinary experience.

First the food size is becoming ridiculous (au gratin potatoes so small) The service is where I'm shocked, the waiting staff turnover is crazy. I was there last Sunday evening (05/24) and one of the waiter with a French accent looks like he just started that day, he was clueless about the menu, didn't know what was the soup of the day, and very inattentive to our table (water refill, empty plates...) like he just wanted our tips ! Also I'm sorry about that one but he had a foul smell like he just finished working out... the table next to us was saying the same thing. I came back on Friday (05/29)early afternoon and seen the same waiter still no refill and same foul smell Im going to try their other locations in PV or Hermosa and see if I'm lucky and they're like that location used to be

CUTE AND YUMMY Love…read morethis bright and homey cafe in the heart of Redondo's Riviera Village! Grateful my friend has a daughter who lives in town and suggested it; otherwise, I never would have noticed it. Even though it was a Sunday morning, we immediately found seats inside. Of course it was a cheery yellow interior with lots of floral accents, hence "Yellow Vase." After perusing the extensive menu at our table, we realized we had to order and pay at the counter, where they were doing a bustling business with tempting pastries and fresh java. They gave us a number to place on our table to let them know where to deliver our food. My old pal from high school (Yes, we've known each other for DECADES!), always leans towards lox for breakfast. It was no surprise that she ordered the Smoked Salmon Plate ($16.95). The salmon arrived on a fresh French baguette with capers, red onion, tomatoes and cream cheese. I like variety, so the 2 by 2 ($16.95) was right up my alley. The two pieces of French toast were homemade perfection. So were the two scrambled eggs, the two chicken sausages and the rosemary potatoes. What an ample, delicious brunch. We were too busy catching up to photograph our meal, though. Sorry, 'cause it was pretty! Just wish the water cups were larger as we had to make several trips to the H20 station for refills. Follow the yellow brick road - I mean Catalina Avenue - and go!

I ordered the steak sandwich, it was really good but a lot sweeter than I expected with a shallot jam. The bread was toasty and the melty cheese was great. We shared the fries but even had some extra to bring home. The only thing I didn't love was my cocktail. I don't remember what it was called some spicy tropical drink. It would have been ok but there was some cherry foam on top that I don't think was listed on the menu. I dislike cherry flavored stuff it tastes like cough syrup to me. So if I'd known I would have ordered something else or ordered it without the cherry. I would definitely come back again. I especially recommend the lunch specials they are a good price. Lively joint, tons of decorations, musica blasting, whistles blowing, etc. Looking good... Promptly seated and greeted by staff. Drink orders placed relatively quickly and delivered not quite as quickly. I thought, "thats ok", as they were a tad busy. Not packed, but busy. Afterwards, I also requested additional chips, which BTW, never arrived... That is where it started a slow roll downhill that quickly spiraled into a steep hill, no brakes situation. After 15 or so minutes, our server, who shall remain anonymous, takes our order. Pretty simple, the camarron tacos for me, fajitas for the wife. They arrive, again about 15 min later so, not too bad. As for the food, I can only speak on behalf of my tacos and I must say, they were very enjoyable. Wifey said the fajitas were "bland and not well seasoned". A very basic "just ok". I only finished two of the three tacos. Then, literally after we had both been finished for at least 20 min, our server comes back and asks if we would like anything else. At this point obviously not... And by this time, after having already been there for nearly an hour and a half, (with only 2 hrs in the meter across the street), we asked for a box for my remaining taco and the check. Well guess what, pardon the pun but Houdini reappears (or not) and it's at least another 15 minutes before he comes back with the check and doggie box. Was gonna pay cash on the bill but it would have resulted in a tip much more than he deserved... Ended up with 8 minutes on the meter. We will never come back to this location.
