I've loved Miznon in Las Vegas for years -- it's one of my go-to spots and I take anyone who's willing to go with me. So I was genuinely excited to see they opened inside Grand Central Market. This is incredible Israeli street food by Chef Eyal Shani. We ordered the minute steak pita and the bag of green beans. Hands down the best pita I've ever had. It's soft, perfectly structured, and packed with bold, unique flavors. And the green beans? Surprisingly addictive. Served cold with a bright lemon vinaigrette -- simple but done perfectly. There are a lot of options at Grand Central Market, but don't skip Miznon. It's special. I'll be back again and again. Been to the Vegas location, it was only ok, better than this. Ordered the Lamb Kebab Pita: A staple, featuring minced lamb kebab, grilled onions/tomatoes, tahini, and spicy peppers. Not authentic. They dont use Israeli pickles they use regular jarred deli pickles. They dont even serve hummus which is always the best condiment. Their tahini is a strong flavor and their zhug spicy sauce isn't spicy and tastes weird, not like normal zhug. Lamb was salty and was one large stick coming out of the pita so there wasn't enough actually inside the pita to get each bite with meat. If you ate it the way they served it you'd end up with mostly pita bites. They barely give any veggies either, I noticed a couple pickles and a couple onions. Went to the place for lunch. Very casual place and nothing fancy. You go to the register, order food and they bring it to you. Ordered a steak pita sandwich which was $21 a Chicken schnitzel plate $26 plus 2 lemonades supposedly $7 each (it came in a very small glass A little bigger than a shot glass ). My bill came out to $67 which I thought was way too high for the place. Pita steak sandwich tasted Ok but was so small i was shocked (was in a very small pita bread). Chicken schnitzel portion was Ok for one person and tasted decent (nothing special). I think paying $67 for 2 dishes at a fast food joint with average food was way too much and the $7 lemonade in a shot glass really killed it for me (rip off). I would never ever go back to that place and I rather not even pass in front of it when I'm going to Joan's which is right next to it and has much much better food. read more

I made my way back to Miznon. This time I came for the schiztel breaded chicken pleasantly juicy in a pita with tahini sauce, pickle, and cabbage. The time is 5:30PM on a Saturday and sadly there does not seem to be much traffic at Miznon. Staff are friendly and ask if I would like some chilled water while I place my order at the self-service kiosk. I appreciate the attentiveness and attention to detail on a warm day. The food here is phenomenal! Their whole cauliflower is a showstopper, a great value, and meant to be shared! I love the pillow, soft bread and variety of proteins. I loved the flavors in the rib eye pita! Super flavorful. It got a little messy at the end, but it was definitely worth it. The pickle was the perfect acid complement throughout. I ordered for like 5 people right during the lunch hour rush so it took a long time to get our order, but usually if you go with just yourself or another person, it's pretty quick. I am not exaggerating when I say that the candy beef pita is the best bite of food I've had in recent history. The meat is tender and flavorful, the pickles aren't overpowering and add the right amount of complimentary flavor and acid, and then the sauces bring everything together, wrapped in a pillow of dough. It's exceptional. I was considering giving 4 stars bc the roasted chicken pita was incredibly underwhelming. All it was was a mouthful of dry chicken. No pickles or sauces until the bottom, so it was just mouthfuls of dry chicken until then. The falafel was really fragrant and spiced well, not super moist but certainly not dry. Had the falafel wrap, and sat at the bar, which is pretty roomy compared to most of the spots in the ever-bustling Grand Central market. What we ordered: Falafel balls (9.5/10): the standout of the meal. Earthy, savory, nutty, and perfectly crispy. The tahini and spicy green sauce were amazing with it. Would 100% order these again. Rib eye steak pita (8/10): tender and cooked well, but definitely on the saltier side. Rotisserie chicken pita (6/10): wanted to love this but fell short. My partner and I finally tried this newish spot in grand central market and, honestly, wanted to like it more than I did. They are located in a really prominent and large spot just inside the market on Hill street and were fairly busy. Despite being busy, service was fast. We got an order of falafel, a ribeye steak pita, and a rotisserie chicken pita. The falafel came with 5 falafels and a dipping sauce. The falafel were good and were pipping hot! The pita bread was very soft and fresh. The ribeye pita was tasty and the meat was nice and tender. The rotisserie chicken pita was kinda whatever to me. It wasn't bad, but also wasn't particularly memorable. My biggest critique is that everything tasted overly salty to me. The food was good, but it wasn't a place I would crave. I'm in Grand Central Market once a week and I noticed this place is usually busy and they play great music. Since I love Mediterranean food, I decided to take advantage of their Dine LA special for $15. You get to choose your protein and they stuff it in their pita bread. I ordered the chicken pita. The sauce they add to the pita adds a nice creaminess to the wrap. The chicken also has great flavor and was cooked well. My only complaint was the grilled whole onions. Came for downtown LA and it wasn't too busy. For $15 you get a wrap, pepper, sauces, and a drink. Pretty good deal! It is inside grand central market right near the street entrance. There is lots of counter seating and order and pickup is super easy. Parking costs money if you park in the structure next door. Bathrooms are downstairs and shared with the whole market. I ordered the candy steak.... Not sure where the candy or steak was lol it was really fatty... and didn't really have a carmelized exterior. The meat that was there was really dry and tough. Also, it's a huge slab right in the middle of the wrap. Not too easy to eat. One bit will be a ton of dry meat, another bite will have no meat. The wrap was pretty good too and I love pickles. I thought the tahini sauce was good but the green sauce was very mid. Lacked a lot of flavor. Overall not amazing but something to fill you up for $15. read more

Visited Grand Central Market this past weekend and thought I would try something new. I tried the Candy Steak pita sandwich and it was really delicious. It's slow cooked brisket with some tomato, pickles, red onions, and an aioli. Very flavorful and very filling. I also tried the lamb pita sandwich that my wife ordered and it was just as good and maybe a little better. For sides we tried the Bag of Green Beans that were in a lemon garlic vinaigrette and tasted great. Definitely get these if you go. We also tried the Run Over Potato that and enjoyed that as well. Service was friendly and helpful as they explained their options to us. It took a little while to get our food but it's GCM on a summer weekend so that was expected. Amazing! Highly recommend. First off, I've been a HUGE fan of Miznon and chef Eyal Shani for years. I've been the their locations in Paris and Tel Aviv. So I was ecstatic to find out they opened one closer to home for me. The food: the "world famous cauliflower" is an absolute must. It's soft, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the tahini. I also had the steak pita which was incredible. The pita bread itself was fluffy and fresh. The steak perfectly cooked and all the "fixings" perfectly complemented each other. I tried the Falafel "Burger". Inside a fluffy soft pita, a moist fresh patty topped with a white yogurt sauce, loaded with pickles (actual pickles not turnip ones) and tomato slice. Interesting but lacking somewhat in big flavor. The spicy green sauce added a nice kick, but tahini needed lemon or salt or garlic - it was a bit bland. I also tried the famous cauliflower. It is a roasted whole giant chunk of it. No seasoning detected- no sauce came with it? I asked for extra tahini and dipped it. With that plus the green sauce it was pretty good but although very fresh and roasty it needed something more to be delicious. Tip: get a plastic knife and fork- its difficult to eat without those. I think a squeeze of lemon would have vastly improved it. Service was fast and courteous. Lovely place and prices were okay. I think I will try a lamb kabob next time. read more

The pita was soft and fresh and held everything together without falling apart, which I appreciate because that usually makes or breaks a sandwich like this. Everything just worked. Nothing overcomplicated, just good ingredients done right. You actually taste the food instead of a bunch of random extras. We were delighted to learn it was in Grand Central Market, so we headed there straight away for lunch. Boyfriend had the Lamb Kebob Pita and I had the Rotisserie Broken Chicken Pita. Both were excellent, with all of the goodies stuffed inside their signature warm, soft pita bread. Our server was adorable: she was so warm and smiling and friendly. When you spend $40+ on two sandwiches, you should at least each get a plate and a signature pepper. Did we? No, we had to share a plate, share a pepper and share sauces. They said they were exempted from being legally required to give us tap water, so we had to spend another $5 on water. (It was the same $5 for still or sparkling water, so we chose sparkling.) The server who dropped off our lunch gave me a nasty look when I asked for forks. We were given plastic. Wowzers. This was not an inexpensive meal. They couldn't give us plates or real silverware? So usually I'm in downtown to see a show at the Ahmanson, but last week I was on Jury duty at the nearby LA courthouse. I decided to take the opportunity to walk around Grand Central Market. They have so many amazing food places, it was really hard to choose! But I happen to see this amazing restaurant, really nicely set up on the Hill Street side. They had bar seats were easy to drop in on, you can see the team in action and everything looked and smelled great. The team working had high energy, friendly and just made you feel noticed. I had their "fish and chips"... it was made with Branzino fish (not deep fried) snugged into their amazing pita. It had pickles, a special sauce and I think potatoes (not a lot). Each bite was heaven. I added some of their special green sauc3 too, it gave it a nice kick. Honestly the flavor on its own was so great by itself. I told one of the women working there that I had to eat slower, because I knew I would be finished with it soon and I knew k couldn't eat another, since I had tk head back to court. It was that good. I love me a good branzino fish so this was extra special. I didn't get to try more things, but I definitely texted about it to my family and friends. My sister is gonna today! Many people got their special Cauliflower. I took a picture of my seat mate's order. Ahh looked so good! I'm going to get it next time! I later found out they had just opened the Saturday before! Came here on a Wednesday, during the lunch rush. Service is pretty slow. It takes a while to place your order and get rung up. The cashier is also helping in the back. I saw that the menu had a falafel burger, So I asked the cashier what was in it and she pointed to a picture, which had three different pitas on it, and said it's like that. Ummm okay, I guess it's not a burger? She wasn't the friendliest. To avoid further conversation. I ended up getting the candy steak. I paid 26 dollars for the pita with a soda. Pricey. Now for the food. The pita was good. The meat was well seasoned and soft. They put long slices of pickles in the pita, which is a nice touch. I think overall, it could have used a little more flavor. Something was missing. Maybe more crunch, some raw onions. Also, more char flavor, like Mediterranean food usually does. Lastly, if you are someone that has a big appetite, you will need to order more than just a pita. I usually don't finish my food, but I was able to finish this with no problem.
