when i heard that miznon was opening a spot inside gcm - i was stoked!! when i had it in ny at the chelsea market, the flavors blew my mind and i wanted to go back... i should not have trusted that the la location would replicate its flavors i went with the classic, minute steak pita... and man was i so wrong to expect flavors i experienced in ny the meat was flavorless, grizzly, and did someone forget to fire up the grill? the meat was so chewy and disgusting. clearly not charred right. it was as if the meat was steamed on the grill and it wasn't cut against the grain? i dunno what was wrong with it. minute steak cut should be grilled fast and on a super hot grill. not slowly steamed so that it becomes all chewy. it was also generally lukewarm even though we ate at the counter. no wonder there weren't many patrons - unlike the ny location which is almost always packed. something was also amiss with the flavors too. it had a lot of peppercorns but overall bland. the only redeeming part was the pita bread. oh and to top it off they forgot to give me pepper on the side read more

Equally as good as the one in Vegas! Their pitas remain consistently pillowy while the chicken is covered in all that za'atar spice. What I really like is how they give the extra tahini and green pepper salsa on the side. One thing I really admire about this place is the quality of the produce. We got the pita salad and EVERYTHING, down to the tomatoes, cucumber and even the parsley, was of the highest quality. I can't comment on the food or service and I hope to update this because we've eaten at the miznon in paris and vienna and LOVED it so much. we were really looking forward to that whole roasted cauliflower, smashed sweet potatoes and chicken but 2 days in a row (sat and sun) they were closed early both times... saturday the cashier actually said they were closing and passed out pitas to the people in front of us, told us to return the next day and then were closed again super frustrating, if there's a reason- leave a sign, but it was empty with people still eating the food with well over an hour left before closing. read more

Pretty decent meal. We got the chicken schnitzel, which was super juicy and crunchy. However, it was super pricey (~$19) for basicaly a sandwich. The pita bread was good, but I wish there was more since they basically only give you half a pita. The sauce that comes with it is pretty good. To start, the staff member taking orders was noticeably rude and curt--not just to me, but to several other customers as well. I ordered the popular ribeye minute steak pita. The meat was tender, though not particularly flavorful. The pita itself was fresh, and the crisp veggies added a nice crunch that tied everything together. What's a man to do when he makes his 700th trip to the Grand Central Market? Try one of the few places he hasn't been and hope its good! I was at the market on Sunday with some friends when we all tried to figure out where we wanted to eat. My wife suggested grabbing something for Miznon and I followed the leader of the afternoon. The menu here has a good amount of wraps and salads and I was sold pretty much right away when I saw I could get a "falafel burger" sandwich so I ordered that bad boy right away. This stand is located on the top half of the market and luckily has a pretty good seating area around the place. It was maybe only a 5-7 minute wait after ordering before we got out food and that's A-OK with me. The sandwich itself was a pretty solid size and this was my first time having this kind of falafel patty. The patty itself was pretty dang delicious and when you wrap it in the cozy little shell, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce it makes for a pretty good lunch. Overall, Miznon was a simple enough place to stop and grab food and I left very satisfied. The staff here was friendly, the service was quick, and the food was good, so what else can someone ask for at the market? Give it a try yourself. read more

I have tried a LOT of the stalls at Grand Central Market. My absolutely favorite lunch is Miznon's Wild Mushrooms in Pita. The pita is soft and fluffy and far suprerior to any pita bread I ever had before. They stuff it FULL of many wild mushrooms which are cooked to perfection in a little sauce, with charred scallions that add just the right balance. I get it not spicy. I recommend getting a side of their famous Cauliflower. Charred on top, soft inside, without being at all overcooked. Nice dipped in Tahini. Helpful, friendly staff. read more

Sadly, this location is not kosher, but thankfully, our clients weren't too strict about keeping kosher as long as it was vegetarian. We ordered the falafel burger, the rotisserie chicken and the folded burger. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially me because I got the folded burger, and it was very tasty. The folded burger came with juicy slices of pickle that surprisingly weren't too overwhelming considering that they came in a pita bread. My client was satisfied with the falafel burger that we ordered extra spicy. He confirmed that it met his standards, which was a win for me. Service is quick and friendly. Ok, why not 5 stars? First the negative: We know everything's expensive nowadays. They are no exception. The pita sandwich is a bit pricey (price/value ratio) for the size of the sandwich. It's a bit smaller than a lot of other Mediteranean spots. The next negative is that I wanted to see more "appetizer options." Appetizers here are priced just as high as entrees. Now the good. The Lamb Pita sandwich was REALLY good. The bread was delightfully soft. We shared two pita sandwiches including: Candied Steak - (It's really brisket) but tender and delicious Mushrooms - (Got it without the spice) and was very yummy. This is one of the best spots I've tried recently. I ordered delivery. The broken rotisserie chicken pita was so good! Super flavorful, with a larger than expected portion of meat. The green beans were tasty too. Flavor and taste wise, I'd recommend both. One minor thing is the green bean ends are not trimmed on one side for most of them, seems like it's intended to be that way, but maybe it would be easier to eat if they were trimmed. And the cauliflower I ordered was not sent with the delivery order (but I won't count it against them yet since it was the first time trying them). Can't wait to eat here again! More like a 3.5 but I rounded up. Miznon is located in the busy marketplace that is Grand Central Market in downtown. You can take the subway here (Pershing square/4th street exit) or buses here. Parking's a bit of a chore despite the attached parking structure that can be a bit pricey depending on how much time you spend here. Miznon's stall can be found when you enter in on the same street as Angel's Flight. It's near the oyster stall. They had a great DineLA deal for a pita wrap + drink for $15. Otherwise, the regular prices are usually $17+ for the wrap itself. My favorite pita is the cauliflower. They've roasted it to the point that it's super tender. Combined with all the other ingredients, super delicious. I felt like the rotisserie chicken version was a bit dryer than I thought it would be. The green sauce has a kick, for those wondering if it's spicy enough. Nice place to stop by if you get a pita craving. read more

Service tends to be a bit slow, but they sure had long lines for lunch orders. Located at the grand central market it DTLA so expect your meal time atmosphere to be loud. Maybe I'm just spoiled living in LA but there are so so so many better Middle Eastern spots throughout LA (& even in downtown area) that I won't go back. Some of the dishes were unique in the way they look but other than that, the authentic Lebanese and Syrian restaurants are much better.
