This place has some great seasonal drinks. The Starman and The Zephyr are really refreshing and a good change up from my usual. The service was super fast and friendly. They even brought out to go drinks to us. I look forward to try their house drinks in the future.

Mnemonic Coffee is one of the really good ones- easily a favorite. The coffee is delicious, especially with their homemade flavors, and the staff are always amazing and welcoming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is small and cute, and they always have the sweetest flower arrangements that add such a nice touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It can get busy and there's sometimes a line, and parking can be a bit tricky at times, but it's absolutely worth it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's also in a great area for a walk and within walking distance of Balboa Park, which makes it an even better stop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pro tip: get the punch card - you'll definitely be coming back. Overall, just an amazing spot all around.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute and delicious coffee shop in Bankers Hill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their seasonal drink Backdraft was absolutely delicious. Sad it is not a regular but excited to try new seasonal drinks by them. The staff/owners are lovely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]LOVE the aesthetics of the shop too. Lots of attention to small details.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also love they do a small discount for bringing your own mug/cup and donate a small amount of the to go cups charge to a local charity. It's street parking which is primarily paid but there are some spots you can find unpaid.

I've been here a few times and enjoy their coffee. My standard is a hot Americano, but I've also tried their cold brew. The coffee is on point - smooth, strong and not bitter. This is an intimate coffee shop in both size and community. The staff seems to have a close relationship with each other and regulars. We got one of our favorites (cold brew) and it did not disappoint. It had chocolaty notes and was a great price as well. Not only did they have glasses for the cold brew but a glass straw as well which I personally really appreciate. The quirky almost retro diner vibe with tile coasters, and a nice fall color palette. Overall its a great spot to grab a coffee and im sure we will be back.

I already had a Vietnamese Coffee and a Matcha Latte before I visited Mnemonic Coffee so I didn't need any more caffeine that day. I'm glad they offered "Zero Proof" drinks which was their caffeine free options. I ordered the Pony Boy which was saffron syrup, grapefruit, and Topo Chico, but I'm not sure if I actually tasted any grapefruit. Maybe I was expecting the Fever Tree Grapefruit soda which is super flavorful and sweet, but this drink was more Saffron than Grapefruit. It was decent! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little spot in Hillcrest.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was lucky to find parking right in front, which was a huge plus. The staff was very professional, and the latte was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is extremely limited though, so I wouldn't recommend coming during weekends or peak hours unless you're just grabbing something to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

100% amazing! I would come back to San Diego to go to this place! The owners are extremely friendly and clearly love their business and what they do. It's a small shop, with little seating (and usually a line) but they talk to each customer as if it's their friend so they make it worthwhile. First time I got a barista recommendation (I told them to make whatever light sweet, simple latte that I could try) - they made a vanilla and cinnamon latte. I am not kidding when I say it was this best thing I've ever had and I dream about this drink all the time. I just went again yesterday and got a another specialty latte that was orange Bossom and cardamom and it was phenomenal. Cappuccinos are always smooth as well.

Believe the hype and the 5-star ratings! Mnemonic Coffee is THE SPOT! I had made a quick pit stop in the area and before leaving, I saw Mnemonic out of the corner of my eye and decided to stop by. WHAT A FANTASTIC CHOICE, I soon came to realize! The staff members were super friendly and helpful! After perusing the menu, I went with one of the specials, The Cardi B, which featured a housemade cardamom syrup. Within a handful on minutes, my beverage was crafted to perfection and served in a cute glass with a metal straw. I supremely appreciated the reusable/sustainable aspect and that it was an option. IMMEDIATE green flag in my book. Plus, I'm a sucker for cold beverages in glassware. While seating was limited due to the space being intimate, there are a handful of tables as well as seating at the bar. I was able to snag a spot at the bar, where I enjoyed my beverage and did a bit of work in my laptop. Overall, this was a FANTASTIC SPOT! I recommend swinging by if you're in the area, whether you're solo or with a friend. I'll definitely be stopping by again soon to try more menu options!

Tried the chiaroscuro! Wow what an incredible blend /contrast of balsamic, sweet and citrusy scent! Super creative and made me feel good! Great suggestion by the barista ( assuming owner) and I observed how they treated their regulars- very personable. Love the counter and the cozy vibe.

Solid coffee spot but pretty pricey and only oat milk. I'm totally for oat milk as an option but I like standard whole milk instead and wish that was an option, especially since I felt like the oat milk upcharge was added into the price. I came on a Sunday around 10 and it wasn't too busy. The space is definitely a cool vibe. Not very big but they do have some seating that people were sitting/hanging out at. The baristas were very friendly and helpful in letting me know about the different drink options. I got the Maple Street which is maple syrup and cinnamon. I was worried it would be pretty sweet but they said that's actually one of their least sweet options. After trying it I agree. It wasnt too sweet at all.

I had a cappuccino with almond flavored syrup (recommended by the barista). He had the Early Bird, which is a coffee and orange soda style drink. Food options were limited to donuts. Saw a reel pop up about this coffee shop and wanted to try it! Loved the decorations and the 70s vibe, also very cool that there is a cutout window into the neighboring barber shop too. I ordered a hot ruby oolong tea for a morning pick-me-up while meeting with a friend, and it was delicious! It came in a small tea pot with a lovely glass cup adorned in a flower pattern. I'll definitely grab a coffee the next time I'm able to stop by :) The staff was kind as well, my friend had some issues with figuring out the parking meters and one of them chimed in with info/advice which was very kind. read more

Came early and got a hot latte and a basic latte with house-made vanilla. The basic latte was sweeter with a subtle vanilla flavor. Both were super smooth and we finished them quickly! Cute little space with big graphic art, connected to a salon. You can sit at the bar or side tables, and they have adorable merch on a small shelf. Overall, great vibes! read more

I've been to Mnemonic Coffee several times now and have always had a great experience! Sarah & Gia are always so welcoming and you can really tell they enjoy the business and community they've built around good quality coffee. Love that they feature other businesses coffee and hold pop up events to support others in the industry. I typically order an iced maple cinnamon latte (not on the menu) that is always made to perfection. All drinks use oat milk, so I never have to specify that or get charged more to change it. Great little spot - depending on when you're there, it can get busy and hard to find a seat...but that's how you know it's good! read more

Got the Gateway (iced mocha with oat milk) with the vanilla shortbread cookie and it was delightful! The service was lovely and the decor was super cool. Wee tips: Parking is a teeny bit tricky (but where isn't in our lovely Cali ) and make sure you order your drink before plopping down into a seat What are you waiting for? Ordered the cold brew but immediately regretted it. Not that it was bad but it was clearly not a single origin but a blend. Therefore some of that natural sweetness is lost. Should have gotten a pourover instead. That said, great service and environment, and even has a place to cut hair right next door (where you can order coffee at the same time as they are the same establishment)! read more

Fantastic coffee shop with great service! Our barista was friendly. We tried the iced basic latte and hot gateway latte. I personally liked the iced basic latte more. Their homemade vanilla syrup was impeccable and their coffee roast was also spectacular. Nice little coffee shop to sit and relax or get some work done. No outside seating and parking is street only- might be hard to find on a busy day, but we came here on a mid Sunday morning and had no problems. Support local :) read more

Wow, the coffee is amazing. I got the QuickDraw and it was refreshing, crisp and the perfect amount of fruitiness with coffee. The pour over was well selected. We did the Colombia it took you on a journey. The space is cute and clean! There's street parking right in the front that you have to pay for with an app. Overall I would highly recommend! read more

Mnemonic Coffee is simply the best. Sometimes I think about going to a different cafe to try something new, but then I remember that it is not humanly possible to top the drinks from here. The baristas are experts at their craft, and their passion for curating a groovy and welcoming third space is evident down to every last detail of the ambiance. I'm obsessed with The Basic, the signature vanilla latte, and the seasonal drinks are creatively delicious. I would recommend this spot to any and every lover of specialty coffee. read more

i got a pour over at mnemonic coffee, their ethiopian beans, specifically. it is an incredible coffee, it stands on its own, milk would make it worse. the barista prepared it perfectly, with precision and care. if you like true high end coffee this is an amazing spot, certainly the best in the area, and is unlikely to be noticeably outmatched in san diego. i also got a bar of "alter ego" brown butter chocolate across the street at marketplace, which goes well w the coffee. I also brought some food in from outside, which I asked permission to eat inside the shop, and they were totally cool with it, which I really appreciate. other things: the bar seating is comfortable! the music is great, and the space is cozy and pretty at the same time. this spot is a real gem. read more

Wow--what a find! I had a flat white here, and while it's not listed on the menu, they made it for me without hesitation. And let me tell you, it was incredible--so smooth and rich! The vibe of this place is fantastic. It feels like an upscale bar, with seating that lets you watch the baristas craft each drink. I totally recommend checking this spot out! read more

I ordered the Matcha Cloud and swapped in oat milk. We found a spot to work at the back of the house. Honestly, this place is huge and a great spot to do work. For space and vibe, I'd give it 4 stars. My drink didn't taste memorable or like something I'd order again, but I think if I'm in the area I might be open to trying a different beverage. We walked in around 12:40 without a reservation. They close at 2:30, but we were still seated pretty quickly. Every employee we interacted with was genuinely friendly. The service never felt rushed even though we came close to close. I also had no idea we walked in during their "US Hour" from 12:00 to 2:30, so that ended up being a nice surprise. They offer $7 draft beers, $9 wine, $10 mimosas, plus a handful of bites for $9. We started with the Fried Calamari Tentacles from the US Hour menu. They're served with Japanese mayo, although it tasted like there was some citrus mixed in because it had a nice tangy kick. Whatever it was, it worked really well with the crispy calamari. To drink, I ordered the Yuzu Matcha Mimosa. It had a really vibrant green color that almost reminded me of green juice. I actually enjoyed it. The matcha flavor came through without getting lost. My friend wasn't the biggest fan because they thought it leaned a little too bitter, so I think this one depends on how much you already enjoy matcha. For my entree, I ordered the Duck and Waffles ($24), which comes with crispy duck confit, a waffle, passionfruit guava sauce, and chili crunch. This was easily the highlight of the meal. The duck was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just enough to let the meat shine. I also appreciated that the chili crunch actually had some heat instead of just being there for texture. The waffle was light and fluffy. I'm a sucker for sweet and savory combinations, so the powdered sugar paired with the rich duck was enough to win me over. The passionfruit guava sauce was the only part I wasn't completely sold on. It wasn't bad by any means. I just think it's one of those flavors that comes down to personal preference. This ended up being one of those meals that reminded me why I keep a running list of places I want to try. Great food. Great service. A fun happy hour that I accidentally stumbled into. My only wish is that parking in North Park was a little easier, but that's just part of the neighborhood. I'd definitely come back.

Waters kept full which was handy as it was a bit hot and my car was a good walk away. Would like to visit again and try other menu items.

Mnemonic is a great coffee shop to visit. The inside is cool and artsy. There's a good drink selection, and they offer fantastic pour over, brewed on an Origami dripper. For home baristas, it's worth checking out for the rotating selection of specialty coffee beans. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful regarding the coffee beans, and it's nice to see some of these unique coffees in person, rather than just online.
