Cold Noodle w/ Spicy Noodle extra bowl
    Jenna H.

Mo Ran Gak is the restaurant equivalent of a relationship I refuse to quit: the wait tests me, the bill humbles me, and yet I keep crawling back... usually after working a weekend open house (realtor life), hungry enough to make financially questionable decisions. Their naengmyeon (cold noodles) is hands-down one of my favorites. The noodles have exactly the right chew...springy, satisfying, and never doing rubber-band cosplay. They arrive perfectly arranged in a beautifully balanced, icy-cold broth with Asian pear, thinly sliced radish, cucumber, and egg. Now for the most important public-service announcement in this review: eat the cold noodles with the galbi. It's one of those genius combos Korean people discovered works well. Morangak gives you a complimentary sample bowl so you can taste the spicy noodles or vice versa. The Kalbi /Cold Noodle combo is great! But I splurge and order the saeng galbi (the unmarinated short rib) because its just superior quality. Is it pricey? Yes... is it worth it? YES! The portion usually becomes two meals for me, which means this is technically meal prepping and therefore a responsible financial decision. I'm a frequent customer and often grab seng-galbi to-go after my weekend open houses. The lines can be completely unhinged, so visit during off-hours unless "waiting indefinitely while smelling grilled meat" is one of your favorite hobbies. Come for the excellent Korean BBQ. Stay for the naengmyeon. Then put them together and briefly forget every problem you've ever had.

We came at 8:50 and got put on the last wait-list. We got seated at 9:30. So everything was rushed. From ordering to them cooking and serving. They were efficient though And the food was delicious! It was a hectic busy restaurant, like most kbbq places with lots of families and people eating and shouting. Super lively in there. The space was tight when they lay out the meat on the side of the table so walking through, I could see the servers struggling a bit. We came for the cold noodles but had to get the meat! Hands down, delicious food so we'll try to come earlier to eat so it doesn't have to be rushed.

super solid. I went twice in one week lol the fullerton location in my opinion is better, closer, and has better parking than the one in garden grove. I thought the garden grove one was just okay when I went a couple of years ago but I now appreciate their nangmyeon and can understand the hype. I usually never get the seafood pancake but it's definitely different here, and when you get the nengmyeon, they give you a slightly smaller one for free which makes this place so special. The servers also cook for you, but I think it's better to go during the weekday so they don't have to scramble to serve you. On the weekend, expect around 1-2.5 hour wait!

Mo Ran Gak is hands down the best Korean BBQ I've ever had. From the moment the banchans started coming out, you could tell the quality was on another level. The meat was incredibly fresh, tender, and flavorful, and every side dish tasted homemade and authentic. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff cooked everything for us and let us know exactly when each cut of meat was ready to eat. It made the whole experience feel effortless and allowed us to just enjoy the meal. Between the amazing meat quality, authentic flavors, and attentive service, this place completely exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to come back.

The service is 100/10. You are not getting the drop off food and leave. They are bringing everything and table service. We didn't lift a finger but to put the food in our mouths. They knew how to cook the meats and the appetizers are amazing. There's lots of noise inside but it's not too loud not to be able to have a conversation. Overall it was a pleasurable experience and I were coming back with friends in a few days. Worth it.

Such high quality meats! Their beef combo has fair portions for the price! This place has the best cold noodles! I like their spicy noodles the best. The banchan is fresh and refillable! The service is fast and efficient. We were seated immediately and food came out within minutes after ordering. Ambiance is clean inside and has nice lighting. You don't smell like Kbbq after too, which is a nice plus.

the BEST korean restaurant in socal! i came at 4:30pm on a sunday & waited about 20-30 minutes, and the wait was well worth it. their banchan is so flavorful & thoughtfully prepared -- my personal favorites were their beef japchae, potato salad, and mung bean pancakes. i got the bibim naeungmyun (spicy cold noodles) & the meat combo for 2 (brisket + pork belly). the spicy cold noodles cut through the richness of the meat, and the meat itself was incredibly high-quality & cooked perfectly by the staff. also love that they provide rice paper to eat with the meat! the combo also came with your choice of soup (we went with bean paste soup) & steamed egg; both of which were very on point!

Had a fantastic dining experience at Mo Ran Gak! The quality of the food was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and served with a great variety of delicious side dishes. Everything from the meats to the banchan was well prepared, and the portions were generous. A special shoutout to our server, Jack, who provided outstanding service throughout the meal. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we always had everything we needed. His great attitude made the experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for authentic Korean BBQ with amazing food and exceptional service, I highly recommend Mo Ran Gak. I'll definitely be coming back!

I really like this location! I def prefer it over Garden Grove. We have had a bad experience with the staff at the Garden Grove location but Fullerton's staff was a breath of fresh air. The staff is was soooo nice, attentive, and fast here. The interior at this location is clean and chairs were comfortable. The Wagyu brisket was *chef's kiss*. Beautiful marbling, melt in your mouth. All the banchan is really good. And they serve raw crab banchan on the weekends. Be prepared to wait! Get there early and out yourself on the waitlist. They close at 9pm but they may close the waitlist around 8:30pm.

A tray full of Wagyu and A5.

This is THE place! A5, Kobe Wagyu! Butter... just like butter. The staff are all wonderful! They remember us and that's always a nice feeling.

Mo Ran Gak is in the highest tier of restaurants for me. The service is always kind, attentive, and top-notch. The restaurant space itself is spacious and always bustling with activity because of how popular it is. If I could pick only one place to get KBBQ, it would be here. Their cold noodles are the best I've had and my wife craves their cold noodles. When I come for KBBQ, I usually get their combo for the size of our party, and it has never disappointed. The amount of meat you get is perfect and your server perfectly cooks it for you. At our most recent visit, my wife and I shared the Naengmyeon + Galbi combo. The banchan offered here is quite literally the best I've ever had. There is so much variety and the quality is amazing. The cold noodles are refreshing, not too heavy, but also have distinct flavor that is not too overwhelming. The gable was perfectly marinated and the meat quality is top tier. I rave about Mo Ran Gak to my friends, and will be a loyal patron here unless something drastic changes.

Mo Ran Gak has the best naengmyeon in Orange County! I've been coming here for years, and I'm so glad they opened a location in Fullerton that's much closer for me. The naengmyeon always hits the spot, especially on a warm day, and the portions are generous enough to share. The meat is consistently tender and pairs perfectly with the noodles. On top of that, the service is always friendly and attentive. Definitely one of my go-to Korean restaurants whenever I'm craving naengmyeon.

20 min wait for a Thursday holiday weekend for a party of 4 which was a nice surprise. This is not an AYCE kbbq but the price ends up being pretty similar with the quality and quantity of meat they serve. I love how our server cooks the meat too. Very efficiently done. They have the usual side dishes like any other kbbq. Kimchi and rice paper are my usual side items. You can also add cold noodles and tofu soup with the combos. The brisket was my favorite. Ambiance is casual they have booths mainly for 4 people but they do take larger parties too.

Can I purr my name on Waiting list?

I'm almost certain you need to add your name in person. Many people wait in their cars if it's a long wait.

I'm visiting from East Coast and short on time. Is there a way to make a reservation or do we just sign in at the location? Is Yelp sign in available?

Don't think you can sign in online. If you can then it'll probably be a long wait on a weekend. Would recommend ~5pm or before

Do you do take out? Thank you.

Yes, we do take out orders!

Are you open on new year day?

Hello Emily, yes, we are open on New Year day. see you soon!

Will mo ran gak be open on Christmas Day?

Hello Edwin, Morangak will be closed on Christmas Day. Thank you.

Are you able to make a reservation?

Hello Denis, I'm sorry but we don't take reservations.

How much is unlimited bbq for 2 people mostly beef brisket, thin slicedpork's belly and seafood with steamed egg? Thank?

I don't think they have unlimited, but the combo set for two people is def enough

Do you have gluten free options?

Yes, we have gluten-free options available. Our fresh meats are gluten-free, and some of our soups and rice dishes can also be made gluten-free. Just let us know when you order and we’ll help you choose the right items. Thank you!

Do they have the bone broth pots at the tables?

    No more bone broth 😢

There is a small lot out front for parking, and I suspect you can park on the street when the lot fills up. We happened to come by during the Korea vs. Mexico game, and understandably, the place gets packed, with a line forming outside. We somehow beat the rush by about 30 minutes and were seated at a table as soon as we entered. We also realized then that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat option, so we ended up ordering the chicken wings, their version of loaded fries, and steamed rice. We also placed the order via the QR code. We had our drinks delivered to our table shortly afterward. The food, however, was taking a long time to get to our table. It may have been a combination of the FIFA World Cup and a staff shortage, but when we were there, there was only 1 kitchen staff member and 1 wait staff member. The lady on the wait staff did everything from serving food to accepting new customers and topping off water for all the tables. A wall separates the restaurant; there is a front room and an inside room, and both rooms had televisions broadcasting the game. The food itself was decent for the price that they charge. The chicken wings came out piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They have some options for different wing flavors. The fries were also delicious and well-fried. I hope the restaurant invests in more wait staff because there were times we needed something from the wait staff. Seeing how busy she was, or sometimes she's just in the front room, we haven't seen her in a while to get whatever we needed. Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good, and the atmosphere is very unique; it's definitely a nice place to get some Korean street food when you're in the area. The only things to note are that parking is limited, food will take a while to cook as it is made fresh, and there will be some waiting to be done if you need wait staff. Last thing to note: I love that they had some Korean Fusion dishes, and I wish I had a bigger stomach to try these as well during our visit, perhaps another time!
