We love the donuts from here. They're made with a special dough so they don't taste deep fried like others. My son loves these churro donuts from this place. So every time I have to get at least 3 for him alone. I got the people at my office hooked too. They love the taste! You can sit down and eat them, but I usually just taken them home. This place is located inside an Asian market it's next to a Korean food place and a Ramen restaurant. Great to get yourself some Ramen and grab dessert afterwards!
This is a little donut shop inside the MINI H Mart HANA WORLD .... Do yourself a favor don't blow your mind with one of the lightest airiest and delectable funnel cake donuts you'll ever put in your mouth!! From first bite to last bite, everything about these delicious masterpieces will literally put your taste buds into a tornado !! Service was fantastic. Presentation was fantastic!! Even though I just ate Ramen next-door, I had to try one of the K dogs holy hell..... when I tell you loaded with flavor and the cheese pulled out of this world!! Please do not miss the opportunity to check this place out solo or make it the best dessert after a fantastic bowl of Ramen!! Cheers to everyone there this place was fantastic
These are beyond a slice of heaven. I love these donuts, light, airy, and full of enjoyable flavors. I think the churro is my favorite, although there are so many offerings I hate to pick just one. I ordered for my physicians office and picked up prior to their opening the next day. The staff are so friendly and willing to help. It's a chill little location inside Hanna Market. The offerings don't stay on the trays long. So many flavor to pick from. I got two dozen and ordered some of every flavor. I secretly wanted to eat a few but resisted. I can promise you will never be disappointed!!!
Near the end of the day they still had 6 flavors available (but a very limited quantity). They do often sell out by the end of the day. The donuts were good, still fresh at the end of the day, but quite sweet with the glaze on top. I would have liked to have a plain (no glaze) but they didn't have any available.
Hana World Market is our neighborhood Asian grocery and we're used to seeing food court vendors come and go over the years, so it has taken me a bit to finally go check out newish chain store open since April 2022, Mochinut. I'm not a big dessert person, but I live with two sweet-tooths. Apologies to them that I waited so long to come in, because this place delivers on delicious treats! The donuts are a neat, shareable form factor with 8 bubbles made for easy tearing. This worked out great for our family when I wanted to try a couple flavors & could easily portion out a fair share for me from my son's horde. The mochi donut texture, thanks to the rice flour base, is a pleasant cross between the traditional pastry donut and the classic cake donut, and even with the toppings, they're not too sweet. Prices are on the expensive side compared to traditional American donuts like Shipley's or Krispy Creme, around $3.50-4 per donut depending on how many you order. We've only had the donuts at Mochinut, but they have more to offer including stuffed mochinut balls, fruit teas & boba drinks ($5-7), and Korean-style rice flour battered "corn" dogs ($5-8). Other chain locations offer some interesting soft serve frozen desserts, but we didn't see that option at this location. Donuts for thanksgiving? Yes please! Finally got to try out Mochinut after months of watching their Instagram. Inside of the market, it's a walk up ordering format so you get your donuts quick! I went just before thanksgiving and got the following flavors: pumpkin pie (the turkey donut), funnel cake and churro. YUM!! The donuts were fluffy and perfect; not too chewy from the mochi, only slightly. Similar to a more American donut almost. The flavors were great and I'd love to come try more! Our favorite was the churro, but none of them lasted very long. Also ordered an Ube milk tea with popping boba. The tea was great and the boba was like a raspberry flavor. Very unique. Super friendly staff, will be back!
I had no idea what to expect from Mochi donuts, especially since I grew up on Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme, but I was genuinely surprised. The texture of the donuts are chewy, as compared to other donuts, but mochi itself is also chewy so that's understandable. The flavors were great too, but the standout is Taro (the purple one) and I would honestly recommend that one if only going to try one mochi donut. I will genuinely come back to this place because these donuts were delightful.
This review is solely based off my initial visit when I tried to order half an hour from closing time during the first few months of them opening. Seeing as there were only 2 mochi donuts remaining when I arrived I asked if I could buy both. Apparently, the answer is no...they don't sell single donuts. I was astounded, and felt like those mochi donuts were just a tease sitting there, taunting me. It took some persistence but I was finally able to buy a single donut, however they didn't honor the 3 pieces for $9 pricing. Despite receiving poor customer service, I was still excited to finally be able to try these purported delicious light tasting donuts, but sadly that wasn't the case for me. Instead, with each bite I was greeted with a fairly dense, greasy, and overly sweet mouthful of "birthday cake" but really all I could taste was grease and sugar. Like many have stated, the allure of these donuts is definitely strong, however from my initial experience, it might be a long while before I return as mochinut is a mochiNOT from my experience.
You can't go wrong with Mochinut. I've been to multiple locations, and the donuts are consistent across the board. They are always a hit at parties and with my work colleagues. I find regular donuts to be way too sweet, so mochi donuts are perfect. They are soft, fluffy, and the mochi gives them a slightly chewy texture. They're easy to pull apart too. My favorite is the churro donut. The only downside is that they sell out of their most popular flavors towards the end of the day, so go early if you want to have more variety!
I stopped in today with Thing One for a quick treat after lunch. I ordered a half dozen mochinuts so we'd get one of everything as there are only 6 flavors today. This is the first mochinut location I have ever been to in the U.S. as other visits have been OCONUS. Now, for the mochinuts, in general; the glutinous rice flour used to make these produces a denser, chewier texture compared to recipes that use tapioca starch. When tapioca starch is used, it will give a fluffier, lighter texture. These delicate, chewy, sweet treats are truly a delight. Although made with the same base, each topping sets one apart from the next. It must be noted that this location does not yet have soft serve nor do they have the hotdogs that I have come to love. We finally made it over to @mochinut_atx and loved the donuts! We tried the horchata, vanilla chai, and Java chip... the donuts were fantastic, chewy, and perfectly sweet. The Ube boba tea was good... nice and creamy. 4 out of 5 stars... . My only negative was that I got charged $1.50 for a larger box because they "didn't have" the smaller box for 3... then the next cashier pulled out the smaller box for the next person in line. Why should I have to pay because you didn't want to take 10 seconds to get a smaller box put together. By the time I checked out with the box and the tip I was $20 in... . I am a huge fan of mochi donuts so I was excited to find that Austin opened a Mochinut! The location is inside of Hana world so there is ample parking out front. Mochi donuts are soft and squishy and are always accompanied by unique and delicious flavors! The way that they are shaped also make it super easy to split them up if you're looking to share. Mochinut rotates their flavors weekly so keep that in mind if you are going there looking for a specific flavor. You can visit their Instagram account @mochinut_atx where they post weekly flavors. The donuts are sold in a 3, 6, or 12 pack. They also have boba drinks you can order. There are still soooo many flavors I would love to try so you know I will definitely be back (more than once)! read more
I'm such a fan. This was one of the places where I tried Mochinut (and mochi donuts in general) for the first time - and I think I'm addicted. The packaging is soooo cute, and the flavors are so fun and interesting. I've tried Mochinut in at least two different locations now, and they seem to keep their donuts at room temperature after baking, probably to preserve the icing's appearance (?). I can safely say that I still really like the doughnuts at room temperature or even after refrigeration lol. The flavors do rotate weekly, so I recommend following them on Instagram or Facebook (not sure if they have one at this time) to know what's in store for next week. I think the flavors can be better on some weeks than others, but the donut itself is the same unique spongy, bouncy, slightly chewy texture. I daresay I prefer the mochi donuts from this chain than this other place I've had before - but you didn't hear this from me. I know not everyone likes mochi donuts as much as I do (at least that's how it is between my friends and myself), but they're so unique, flavorful, and just sweet enough. I think I'm addicted. I'm in love with their guava flavor so far. That one's a must-try if you see it! read more

I've wanted to try this place for a long time so it was my mid week treat! It's a little hard to find since it's inside the Hana World food court and not outside like google map may lead you to believe. You have to get a minimum set of three so we got the churro, (the best out of the three), Oreo (not bad but nothing exciting) and funnel cake(not great, barely sweet). I enjoyed the texture of the mochi donut as it is something not commonly found, if you're bored of regular donuts I'd recommended stopping by here for the churro ones which strike a good balance between sweet and not overpowering. Felt overpriced so probably won't the back but glad I got to try it. read more

We love anything Japanese and have been looking forward to trying Mochinut. They did not disappoint. They had 6 flavors to choose from and we opted to buy one of each. As some reviews noted there are some flavors that lack flavor but we only came across one - the churro. The remaining flavors we bought were really good. - pistachio, strawberry banana, s'mores, vanilla latte, and ube cherry. I would not be buying often but very much worth the one or two time visit a year. read more

It was neat to try the different flavors. I personally like the texture of mochi so I enjoy this type of donut, although I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. My only gripe is that they run out so fast They are pricey, but even a small box of donuts is enough to feed a few people with a craving. :) read more

Mochinut is the dessert we've been waiting for! It's Japanese rice cake (mochi) and American style doughnuts which originated in Hawaii. Located inside the Korean market, Hana World. Order 3 doughnuts for $9 or 6 for $16. They're not as cheap as regular doughnuts! But it's fun to eat; rip off each bite of you want. And it's got a nice chewy texture. I really liked the red bean! The flavors change periodically, so check their Instagram for updates and possible deals :) read more
Mochinut's donuts look beautiful and taste great. Most of the donut variations were gone by the time we visited the shop (around 2pm), so we didn't have a lot of choices. The churro donut was by far our favorite: It was soft, chewy and not too sweet. The Blueberry Yoghurt and Thai Tea donuts were a bit stale and the glaze tasted artificial. All in all, the donuts were not the best we've ever had but still great enough to go back if we are close by. read more

You'll have to go inside Hana World in order to get to this spot, which is right next to Hanayoree. The donuts are really tasty; I ate one churro and one funnel cake in one sitting I do wish that there are a bit more flavors rather than just 6, but since they rotate flavors, that's their way of making sure that you keep coming back to them read more

The donuts were great, amazing flavor. only a little too sweet for me but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is I was only going to buy one, so I was surprised when they said I had to buy 3. I liked the little details of the sourpatch kid candy and mini rice krispie on them. Overall I recommend! read more

I am super excited now that Mochinut is here in Austin! Located inside Hana World Market, i visited during their soft opening this week. With rotating flavors, I tried the Funnel Cake, Taro Churro, Pineapple Mango, and Cookie's and Cream! There was also a Circus Strawberry and Fro-yo Fruit Pebbles flavor available. Make sure to follow their ig: @mochinut_atx, to see what flavors they have for the day. Overall, I thought the icing wasn't too sweet, and they were very chewy! I was excited to try this place out since all the mochi donut flavors sounded and looked good. I got a box of 6 mochidonuts in strawberry shortcake, java chip, matcha, vanilla chai latte, horchata churro, and funnel cake. The donuts are soft and more chewy than your average donut, which is an interesting texture. The donut is like a ring with 8 "balls" that you can pull apart and eat. The donuts and the box they came in looked cute and pretty. However, the flavors weren't that impressive and weren't as flavorful as expected. The Java chip was probably the best one out of the whole box. It had a Java coffee flavored glaze and topping. The matcha flavor was decent and came with a chocolate dipped pocky stick. The strawberry shortcake flavor just tasted like your basic strawberry glazed donut. The vanilla chai latte didn't have any chai flavor at all to it and was a little too sweet. The horchata churro also didn't have much of that horchata or churro cinnamon flavor that I was looking for and tasted rather plain. Lastly the funnel cake flavor was pretty plain tasting itself. I also got an ube flavored milk tea with boba. The taste was very artificial tasting. I've had much better ube and taro flavored milk teas elsewhere. Overall, Mochinut was a bit more lackluster than I would have liked and for the prices paid. read more

Such a fun place. I found them on Instagram and it was such an awesome find! The donuts are delicious, today we tried the iced mocha, the pineapple dragonfruit and the funnel cake. I also tried a coffee boba and everything was so delicious! The funnel cake was our favorite, it tasted like a raspberry filled jelly donut due to the drizzle across the top. They rotate flavors which means I'll definitely be back to try more. There's plenty of seating, and get here early! They often sell out and the line is steady and moving. We arrived just shortly after they opened at 11 and by 1130 the line wrapped around the tables! Definitely worth checking out! read more
I was really excited for the hype with mochinut launching in Austin! We went to try it out, and here are my thoughts on it. First of all, you're required to get a set of three, you can't order one individually. I was anticipating to just order one matcha one, but they didn't have it that day which was a bummer. I ended up just getting latte, strawberry and funnel. Out of the three, funnel was the most decent one. I did like the inside mochi texture a lot and the flavoring was on point. The other ones were not up to my standard because it was just too sweet for me, and it had that oily aftertaste to it. I couldn't finish them and felt like I wasted $9 when I could have just had one funnel mochinut, and would have felt satisfied. Overall, I'd suggest they let the customer just choose however many they want instead of being forced to get a set. Some people may not always be in a group and just want to have a bite alone. A little less oil, or a way to not have an oily after taste would be better too. I'm not sure if I'll be running back for them, but wouldn't mind giving it another try if I happen to be around and could order just one. read more

Mochi Doughnuts we're excellent and chewy. You had to buy a minimum of 3 for 9$ which wasn't a problem. They had many flavors with my favorite probably being the funnel cake. Simple yet delicious. The lady up front was also nice. read more

Hands down best mochi donuts in Austin, i've tried every other place and they lack in appropriate texture and taste. These are fluffy with the perfect amount of mochi chew. The churro, ube churro and funnel cake are my go to's. Fast and friendly service as well. Yummy!! read more

I had been hearing so much hype about the new mochi donut place and was in the area so i decided to try it out. The mochinut location is inside of Hana World Markets food court area. I was out running errands on my own in the middle of texas summer so i was a bit disappointed that you couldn't purchase individual donuts, the smallest pack they offer was 3. If I would have been heading home this would have been less of a bother but instead I knew they would soon be melted in my car and wasted. I decided to continue anyways because i was already here and chose three different flavors - Funnel Cake, fruity pebbles and Uber Churro. They were all really good but i would say my favorite was the fruity cereal one. The mochi texture was delightful though It could have been more interesting if the donuts themselves had varied in flavor instead of only having different toppings. The shape and texture makes them perfect for breaking apart and sharing without a big mess as well. read more

Located inside the Hana World Market, this little gem of a donut spot is DELICIOUS! We got the Strawberry/Mexican Vanilla, Oreo, Funnel Cake, and Chocolate with Pretzels mochinuts & they were ALL amazing. The texture and flavor were on point. I also got the Thai tea which was INCREDIBLE...honestly, it's probably the best Thai tea I've had in a long, long time. Overall it was a great day experience and we will be back for sure! read more
Not bad but the freshness was lacking. I've had this brand in other states and I like it fresh and or warmed up. Not much of a selection and those prepared weren't in heated cases so everything was cold. They cost about $3 each so definitely overpriced for what you get. It's in an Asian (Hana Market) market so it is hard to find and you'll have to park and go inside to locate it. I think it could be better if the location was in a more populous area and if they kept the product warm. A drive thru would be great too. Cute packaging and the donut itself wasn't too sweet. The icings were on the sweet side so I would adjust that a bit or scrape it off. I hear the flavors rotate but I didn't care for any of the icings so it wouldn't matter to me. I guess I would go back if I need a donut fix but given the location and cold product, it most likely would never happen unless it was the only place available. It's a shame because other locations are pretty darn delicious! Note the signage was very basic. The kitchen itself and packaging are top notch but everything else is only mediocre. The sign says more than a donut and other locations sell corn dogs but this one sold only donuts. read more

I love mochi donuts and these definitely hit the spot! They were super tasty and a nice chewy texture. I had the churro, funnel cake, and almond joy - the almond joy was my favorite of the day. I know they rotate flavors, so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more! Also had a brown sugar boba that was delicious! read more
