I was really disappointed. I found a hair and an actual bone in my chicken salad. That's not something anyone wants to see while eating. On the bright side, at least I know it was real chicken, but still completely unacceptable. It ruined my appetite, and food safety should not be an issue. Went to Moco's Founding Farmer's today and it surely had been awhile. I love their breakfast/lunch options. The chicken pot pie has always been my go to personally but their burgers are also really good. Fries are pretty average so I would maybe choose a different side dish next time. They also have amazing drink options. I absolutely love their chai tea latte! I got mine iced and you can completely taste the cardamom and spices. It's not for everyone but I love it and would order it again and again. Weekends are usually the busiest times to go so maybe if possible, try to go on a weekday instead. Service is pretty quick and our orders came out within 10 minutes of ordering. They also follow up on beverage refills without you needing to ask which is excellent. It's definitely a family oriented/casual restaurant. Nothing fancy but still very open. read more

This morning, came for Saturday brunch. Wait was about 20 minutes. They took our phone number and texted when the table was ready. The prices here are a bit higher than other places a usually go to, but, I have to say, the food is outstanding and worth it. And it's worth the wait. Four of us at the table. We started with Uncle Buck's Beignets ($13.50). Six large fluffy beignets with a gentle cover of powdered sugar. Accompanied by a three small cups: chocolate sauce, caramel and berry. The menu says serves 2-3, but as a brunch starter we all felt more than satisfied with 1.5 beignets each. And they were excellent, especially with the coffee I ordered. I ordered the Southwestern Scramble with hash browns and English Muffin. All of the components were great. The scramble had ample cheese, the hash browns were crisp on the outside and were tasty alone (no ketchup needed!) and the English muffin was large and had a nice toasty outside and good chew inside. It was not like a Thomas English Muffin and just a simple side bread; it was its own star on the plate. My partners had different entrees, which you will see in the pics below. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. One small comment for the restaurant. Three of us ordered English Muffin or toast with our meals. We asked for butter and the wait staff returned with a plate holding a single small cup with one tiny ball of butter. We asked for more and she returned promptly with two more balls, which was fine. But I was left thinking whether, for the money we paid, the restaurant felt a need to ration butter. Also, we requested some hot sauce and got a plate holding a small container with a few ounces of what tasted like straight Tabasco. Only it was so hot and flavorless, it wasn't used and was pretty much wasted. You should come up with another hot sauce or offer alternate choices. We went tonight for restuarant week. This is a busy restuarant. The food is very nice. Unusually slow service. And there was a computer glitch that made our bill confusing. We made reservations last week for 5:45. We were seated on time. However, we didn't finish until after 9 pm. This is not their normal response. Apparently, the kitchen was swamped. However, the tables around us came after us & finished over an hour before us with no apparent problems. The manager was very responsive to our discomfort. Don't be discouraged. this was unusual. They normally give great service. The restuarant week special included huge salad & dessert. Entrees were beautifully presented. Long time gap between receiving first two entrees and receiving other 3 entrees. Plus points for the chicken pot pie that my picky granddaughter ate & loved. The daily fish special was not part of restaurant week. . It was also, beautiful & ok. The sweet potatoes was my favorite part of this entree. The fish itself was ok not special (slightly dry). Foundling FarmerPlatter is a excellent choice. Lots of good assorted mains. The included small salad was slightly too spicy. but still enjoyable. They need to stock up on teas. Three people ordered hot tea. Not good when only two of three people could order only black tea. In general, we prefer to drink green or white tea in the evenings because black tea has too much caffeine. Running out of choices for treat at 5:45 pm is kinda disappointing. Upon arrival we were greeted and assisted immediately. The staff was friendly and the waiter provided good insights to the menu highlights. From the drinks our favorite was the mai thai, it was strong topped with a delicious passion fruit foam. The wings are flavorful. The fried green tomatoes could use seasoning and/or a flavorful sauce but they were crisp. The steak fajita meal is very filing. It's a nice welcoming place. I loved my crispy chicken sandwich with fries. My fries were more bits and pieces which the kitchen didn't remove and looks like the bottom of the fryer. The sandwich was great. I loved the spicy chicken and with the coleslaw was a nice indulgence for me. Service had gaps. We had a lovely service person but it took a long time to get anything from orders to drinks and to take our food order. In my estimation, it's not a shortage of staff but more like the operations and quality control needs to be better. We were here for a conversation with friends so it wasn't a big deal but with the menu prices, I wish the kitchen and service could have been a tad better. I wouldn't discourage anyone to visit as this may have been a holiday time experience. But then "fries" the thing that everyone in America loves should've been better! Happy holidays read more

Absolutely amazing experience coming to this location! We were here for a friend's wedding and for our mini vacation and we were looking for a place to eat. So happy to have stumbled upon this location (thanks to hubby)! There was a good amount of parking for a Tuesday evening, we got seated immediately and the ambience and way the restaurant looked was absolutely mesmerizing. Our server, Ruben, was more than helpful and created a warm and welcoming environment. He explained all the dishes we were interested in, as well as the moto of the restaurant. Our food came at a timely manner and everything tasted amazing! To the drinks, and then the appetizers, and the food. We left happy, especially because this was our last day in Maryland. This is one of our go tos after church and love it, but I always forget to leave a review. Since my husband's niece joined us I thought this would be a good time to capture the different options we chose. We had biscuits for an appetizer which are always a good choice. I've heard great things about the founding farmers brunch so I came in with a friend on a Sunday morning. We sat at the bar and they had ample seating available. We started off with some classic mimosas and our bartender recommended the beignets and the kettle corn so we ordered both. The beignets were pillowy and flaky, the variety of dipping sauces were amazing. The popcorn was great but also MASSIVE. It comes out hot and fresh in a big stainless steel pot, they give you bags to take it home and it's a great snack for later! The breakfast plate was very average. Inside is cute and clean, parking by the restaurant is sometimes an issue. It's a fun spot to hang out at with friends & family. That's how you know it slapped. We also tried the chia coconut bowl, which was packed with granola, berries, and a dollop of peanut butter. While I appreciate the creativity, the texture was a bit on the thick side for my taste. Like, chia decided to go full Hulk when a gentle yoga vibe would've sufficed. The peanut butter added a unique touch, but I gotta say... it felt like the wrong dance partner for the fruit. Maybe if they whipped up an apple butter or pineapple butter, we'd be talking main stage material. Overall, the experience was solid. Overall a decent place. Wife had fish and chips and she said it was very good. I had the brisket plate and it was disgusting , no seasoning and tough as leather. This was a rustic establishment with farm-to-table principles. The very large menu had lots of American themed dishes along with Southern influence too. The service was appreciated as the food came out quickly for our large party. For starters, the skillet cornbread ($9.99), fried green tomatoes ($13.99), and the hot crab and artichoke dip ($17.99) was ordered. The cornbread came with a honey butter. This was not too bad. It came out very hot and had tons of actual corn kernels present. It was soft on the inside and a little crisp on the outer edge. The fried green tomatoes were my least favorite. They came with a goat cheese and avocado dip. The tomatoes themselves were plain, seemed to need some salt. The goat cheese and avocado dip both enhanced the tomatoes, however. The dip was my favorite. There were a number of slices of bread present to eat. There were also plenty of crab pieces and it did not taste overly cheesy with the amount of artichoke and crab. I really enjoyed that combination. For my entrée, I had the pork and lentil stew ($19.99). It also came with a small farmers salad and grilled sourdough. The stew had cilantro, lime, avocado salad, and a poached egg. The salad had a little bit of everything. The champagne and sherry vinaigrette was the key. Regarding the stew, the flavor was there, but some of the execution was poor. For one, the poached egg was more like extremely hard boiled, and the avocado salad was hard too. Besides that, there was tender shredded pork with fresh flavor coming from the lime and cilantro. I also tried a bunch of other dishes including the farmers platter (fried chicken, pork ribs, brisket), sausage mushroom ricotta gnocchi, goat cheese ravioli and chicken cutlet as well as a crab cake. The farmers platter was very good. The chicken was crisp while the meat from the ribs fell right off, and the brisket was tasty too. The sausage was the best part of the dish. The cream sauce threw me off a little as it was a little too thin for the gnocchi. The chicken cutlet was alright while the goat cheese ravioli actually paired nicely with the butternut squash puree and pecan praline butter. The butter was a tad sweet, but it helped with the goat cheese flavor. The crab cake was too mushy for my liking. Overall, though, it was solid and pleasing. Will I go back? Yes. read more

She repeatedly told me she can't do it and our family would have to sit separately. I asked to speak with a manager and Ethan saved the day! He made an exception on a very busy day and had the 2 top table moved so we could all sit together. They did not know that my mother has stage 4 cancer and not being able to sit at the same table with the rest of the family on Mother's Day would have been devastating. Ethan really came through in a clutch situation! Erika was our server and she was amazing in every possible way. She was super busy and had been there since 7am. We were her last table of the day and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything, while checking on us regularly. All our orders came out perfectly. She was so sweet, we even invited her to sit down with us. I had shrimp n grits while everyone else had more traditional breakfast food. Founding Farmers - A Delicious Birthday Treat with a Few Minor Hiccups. I recently dined at Founding Farmers in Potomac, MD, and overall, it was a very enjoyable experience with a few small drawbacks. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and accommodating, making for a memorable birthday dinner. To start, the Fried Green Tomatoes had a satisfying crunch, though they were slightly bland on their own. Thankfully, the accompanying sauces added much-needed flavor. The Crab Cake Mac'n Cheese was a standout--creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. However, at $36, it did feel a bit pricey, even considering the generous portion. The fried chicken sandwich was very good. Juicy and perfectly cooked. For my entrée, I had the prime rib (10 oz), which was flavorful and surprisingly filling. While it was cooked to the requested medium-rare and looked the part, the texture was drier than expected. Next time, I'd probably order it rare to see if that makes a difference. On the drink side, the lemonade was fantastic--fresh, tangy, and not too sweet. But the real star of the night was the Clementine tequila cocktail--hands down one of the best tequila cocktails I've ever had. Balanced, bright, and refreshing, it was the highlight of the meal. As a sweet birthday surprise, the restaurant gifted me a chocolate-covered strawberry, which was absolutely delicious--a simple yet thoughtful touch that added to the experience. Verdict Founding Farmers delivered a great meal with some stellar highlights, especially in the drink department. We had Sunday brunch at Founding Farmers, and this was my first time at this restaurant. It got packed and very LOUD very fast. I couldn't believe how busy this place was! We had reservations, so we got seated quickly though. The Spinach and Tomato Benedict I got was good, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. However, I was a little disappointed in the side salad, because it was mostly lettuce. The biscuits were cold, but they would have been great if they were warm. And my vanilla latte was yum! My friends all liked their food. Overall, this place was good. Our server was the sweetest, and he was so patient with us when we asked questions. The biggest downside was we had to yell during our entire meal, and it was still hard to hear ourselves talk. read more
