Came by yesterday afternoon to pick up 2 pizzas. My husband is a simple man, Red sauce, pepperoni with extra cheese. I'm a bit more picky, so I asked RENECE to help me decide. I must say her knowledge of flavors of various herbs and which would harmonize with the white sauce and the Canadian bacon was amazing! Online ordering is wonderfully convenient but being ignored in the online pickup line by EVERY of the 6 people working is not. If this was an isolated incident I might let it slide but the same people with the same apathy means it isn't just a one time thing, these people hate their job and couldn't care less about your service. Food is good still, so at least that disproves things made with love taste better. read more

When my bf & I got into the store, no one greeted us. There was 4 workers in the middle just talking. None of them looked our way until after 3mins. Then they finally helped us. We felt that was very rude & unprofessional. We placed our orders, got our drinks & paid for it. When we received our pizzas, the slices were so big & uncomfortable to eat. We decided to try this place because it opened up right down the street from my House. The food is OK but nothing to rave about. My Husband and I go to Pieology and love that place so I think I was expecting it to be the exact same as them. I ordered a pizza that has the same exact stuff on it that I normally get at Pieology but it just wasn't the same.. The crust is a bit different and they don't have the yummy garlic butter that Pieology has I always get that on my crust instead of sauce. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible but I will most likely stick to Pieology. Plus the Pieology that we go to (sunrise blvd) seems way less hectic than MOD Pizza. read more

We used to enjoy coming here once a week for pizza. The last few times it's been pretty poor service. Last week my pizza wasn't cooked, this week we were at the counter and they made 9 pizzas in front of us from internet orders. They would have kept making more but we had our 3 month old with us, so we asked if we could at least start the process for a pizza. The employee got a bit fussy, they barely put anything on them and I asked if they cook extra cook my pizza which they didn't. They gave us someone else's pizza. I want to like this pizza. I had the Dominic which has white sauce, asiago, fresh chopped basil, red onion, sliced tomatoes, mild sausage on a thin crispy crust. It's about 11ish inches. Call me picky, but the sausage tasted a little gamy, kinda like it was a tad old and about half of the tomato slices had the stem (pet peeve). I ordered a Ceasar salad which was about the same price as the pizza. About half the lettuce was wilted (another pet peeve). I took it back to the counter and they kindly replaced it....with more wilted lettuce. LOL! "A" for effort. I'm not mad. There are a bunch of kids that run this place and they try hard. Pizza and breadsticks weren't worth 30 bucks by the time I got out of there... I could have gotten a large elsewhere. The pizza reminded me much of those frozen ones from Winco or Raley's... nothing to write home about. We love MOD pizza! On Tuesday I went in with my husband and kids for a late lunch and we all enjoyed our pizzas. We had left overs so we got a box to take it to go and as soon as my husband got up with the pizza in his hand he accidentally dropped it and the pizza landed face down on the floor. We were super bummed because we looked forward to eating it later. The manager noticed that we dropped it and offered to make us another pizza on the house. I really appreciated that and we will definitely make this our regular spot to have lunch. Again, we love MOD. read more

The gentleman at this Rancho Cordova site actually took it upon himself to fix my mistake by calling the correct site and having them complete my order. Who does that?! MOD Pizza looks just like most of the other make it yourself pizza places. The line wasn't too bad, and they were very friendly. I ordered the thick crust pizza with a white sauce ricotta cheese parm cheese and mozzarella cheese, ham, bacon, red onion s, fresh garlic, tomatoes, artichoke hearts and a drizzle of bbq sauce at the end. The pizza took about 5 mins to come out and it was worth the small amount of time it took. It was so good and crispy just enough to hold the toppings on. Definitely worth the price. Over past three days my son and I visited three local pizza places within the 95670 zip code: Blaze, Pieology, and Mod Pizza. We rated each on taste, customer service, and quality re prices. Although all three were very comparable in regard to pricing blaze ironically was the most expensive yet rated the worst in each category especially taste and customer service. In fact Blaze Pizza had the WORST customer service I've ever experienced(rude and disrespectful despite our attempts to be friendly). Blaze was extremely skimpy on ingredients of all three and actually burned my pizza to a crisp( see photo). Pieology and Mod were very equivalent regarding customer service in that both had exceptional customer service. Both Pieology and Mod were generous with the toppings-perfect amount actually, not too much but not skimpy. You really can't go wrong with visiting either of these places the only significant difference was that gluten-free crust at Pieology was just a little bit softer but other than that Pieology and MOD both get A+ and stay away from Blaze!!! read more

I tend to shy away from "build your own pizza" places that are kind of fast casual but Mod Pizza changed that for me. Ordered a mini pizza for my lunch. The mini pizza is about 4 slices and the pizza is baked on a thin crust. What drew me in was that they offered "dairy free cheese." How often can you say a pizza place offers this? Not often. I'm lactose intolerant and the only time I can eat pizza is if I take 2 lactaids. Yes, I know, sad. I love that they have this option. Makes my life easier. I decided to create my own instead of ordering from their menu and now I want to go back. My suggestion is if they would offer this in the future, to have minced garlic. Little ol' me ordered roasted garlic but I didn't know it was whole cloves of roasted garlic. Oopss. Customer service was on point and they are all SUPER friendly. My order had just come out right as I entered their store for pick up. Nice! I am definitely coming back again and now consider this as one of my go-to spots for when I don't bring my own lunch to work! read more

I've gone here a few times now and the pizzas are pretty good! We mostly get the thin and thick crust, and it's always cooked thoroughly and not doughy. We get to choose any toppings we want on it, which is nice! Other places like Pieology and and Blaze only allow a few and then start to charge extra. They now offer a low-carb, keto-friendly version and it's awesome! The taste is good and not to "cauliflower" like. I had to take a star off though because the service is slooooow. It always seems like the pizzas take forever to come out. The customer service is also a hit-or-miss. Overall though, the pizza is good and I will be back! read more

The staff here are ALL amazing. I'm a manager at the local PetSmart down the street and would happily steal any one of them to add to our staff! The customer service is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing! Oh yeah... the pizza is addictive so be careful You might save money on food because the prices are super reasonable but you'll spend money on upsizing your wardrobe. New place in Rancho Cordova on Olson! Staff is super friendly, extremely welcoming! They also let you know if there are any deals or specials going on at their location(Mondays). MOD Pizza is across the street from my wife's office and many of her staff have recommended it. We finally tried it a few days ago and have been back twice. We have tried some of the other "make it as you like" pizza bar joints and they were OK but MOD beats them all. The crust is thin and crispy (with an optional thick crust) and done just right. The number of toppings is outstanding for both pizza and salads including Canadian bacon, roasted garlic, spicy sausage, hamburger, and balsamic glaze. All the ingredients are fresh and wholesome; no canned stuff here. Pizzas are done quickly in the gas fired oven and definitely have great flavor. The staff is always friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, we came in with less than an hour before closing and no frowns or hurried pace. Our pizzas (there were six of us) were all cooked to perfection and the prices reasonable. Even though we didn't finish until after closing, we were still asked how we enjoyed our pizzas and thanked for coming in. Great place for lunch or dinner and we'll be back soon. read more

Today my coworkers and my self came here for lunch around 11:45. We beat the lunch crowd. Soon it got real busy. This is where this restaurant went south. In all the chaos they lost my pizza. It ended up in the "togo stack" above the oven. I waited until every one in my group was 1/4 done with theirs when I inquired. Like I said, they did finally find it. When I was handed my pizza, it was no longer hot, and the girl with the tat on her arm handing it to me, didn't offer any of the topping sauce, or an apology. This is our second time in there, and this will our last. The pizza was unimpressive. Store was under staffed for a lunch hour. The only reason there are "stars", the ice tea was good. This place allows you to make your own pizza. The service was nice they ask you if you ever been here before and if not they will talk it through. You can pick what type of pizza dough you want and size and then as many toppings as you want. My boyfriend liked his place more than pieology. There's lots of parking and it wasn't crowded when we went for dinner on Thursday. read more

I took my family to Mod Pizza last night. The pizza was really good, especially since we all did "build your own" and I was pleased there was a thick crust option. The lemonades were yummy and the staff was pretty energetic. However, they were a little too anxious to go home. First, they drained the iced teas and lemonades into containers around 9:40. When I asked to refill my cup, I was told no. Next, we were still eating our 7 pizzas when an employee came and collected all the napkin dispensers! And, lastly, another family walked in the restaurant at 8:54 and they told them they were closing so come back some other time. These are all easily fixed problems so we will have to come check it out again in a few weeks. Update......went back to Mod last night for dinner with my crew. Pizza was perfect again, since we each ordered what we liked and there was no pushback when my grandson says "more sausage, please" three times! The employees were pleasant, the music was loud, and one employee did walk by and check on us to make sure our pizzas were good and if we needed anything else.
