my wife has long been a fan of blaze over pieology... i don't like either of those two places at. all. my regular lunch bunch was meeting at mod and i decided to join them. it's nowhere near where we live, but we now gladly drive up the hill just so that we can get decent, personalized pizza! we can each get exactly what we want. she gets broccoli on hers (why, dear pizza godz, is that even an option?!?!?!) and i get a ton of their marvelous roasted garlic. since it's a you-choose your adventure kind of place, you are only limited by your own imagination and tastes. they also have great sauces if you like (she likes the pesto, i like the garlic butter and buffalo sauces). the location is always clean and smells great (unlike our experience in blaze), the customer service is always friendly and efficient. mod is now our go-to for the once-in-a-while pizza fix. the only thing that would make it better is if we could get a mod down here in torrance! read more

I had the BEST customer service today at the Mod Pizza here in Palos Verdes at The Rolling Hills Plaza provided by Glen and Ashley! I have eaten here a few times, but today was the first time that I tried to preorder online for pickup. Well, I was having a busy day and an extremely busy, life-altering week and I had difficulty completing my order online. I showed up for pickup, thinking my meal would be complete, and my face dropped when I realized I hadn't completed my online order correctly. Well, Glen and Ashley made my day and week so much brighter by promptly making my order and giving me free pizza. It was a grand gesture to me being that my week has been so hectic. Thank you, Glen, Ashley, and Mod Pizza! I will keep coming back for more AND I will recommend you around town to friends and families. I know a lot as a teacher and parent in this community. MOD Pizza Rolling Hills....trust me you can skip this place. Charged us wrong and very unorganized...when customers start taking with other customers about how frustrated you are while you are waiting it's not a good sign. No one seemed happy including the workers who were very passive aggressive towards each other....Pizza wasn't that great either....won't be visiting again. read more

I am not a huge pizza person because it is so heavy, but I love MOD Pizza. The crust is light and crispy, you can get a mini size, and the choice of toppings is excellent so you can go as heavy or as light as you want. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 430pm 8-26-18. I generally like Mod pizza over blaze but I won't be coming back to this one. The black girl who built our pizzas and rang up up ruined the experience. She was rude, curt, and messed up our pizzas. It was basically like dealing with a McDonalds employee who hates her life. After she tossed our pizzas in the oven she refilled her McDonalds cup at the soda station basically shooing my kids of the way. There are too many options to put up with such people. read more

I am fuming. This place seriously needs to get their act together. Management needs to step in, take charge, and retrain. We got there Sunday night at 7 pm and ordered two pizzas. The girl taking our order mumbled questions and looked sullen the entire time. We waited for our pizzas..5...10..15..20 minutes. Wait, isnt this place like Blaze? Shouldn't it be quick? Nobody bothered to let us know that they lost our pizza. We went up and spoke to two staff. On the counter where they box up the pizza sat around 10 random pizzas. It looked like a pizza funeral. The guy asked if one of them was ours. What the heck?! Then he said he did not know where our other pizza was but that most likely it was still in the oven. We asked for our money back. Nobody seemed particularly sorry for wasting 30 minutes of our time. Seriously, you messed up but at least ATTEMPT to make it right. Take matters worse, we were then late for the movies and weren't able to get seats. Do not waste your time amd come here. read more

Delicious thin crust pizza! I always get extra tomato sauce , cheese, pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and olives and it has been delicious every time. Tonight I had a marionberry milk shake that was also delicious, extra thick which I love. Not only is the food good but prices are good as well and the employees are wonderful, especially Eve who greets and serves you with a big warm smile. read more

This place sucks, the staff are under trained, obnoxious trying to rush us though our order and act very immature when its leisure time, not sure if they actually know what they're doing they all look confused most of the time and they run back and forth to the back of the house to products they're missing at the line and there dough press machine always acts up on them because improper usage. I would not recommend them, only to my enemies MAYBE, i'm sorry but i can not support an establishment like this. when i finally get home after ordering my pizza its gross , hard chewy and not edible. Maybe if they were more clean and organized and didn't give customers attitude i wouldn't leave such a harsh review. Management needs to step it up because the employees look tired most of the time, as if they aren't being given proper break time or they're understaffed. Drug tests should be mandatory at this establishment, most of they're employees look under the influence half the time. Went back complete turn around. Everyone was wearing gloves that was handling food. A girl went from non food task , said out loud "washing hands" and gloved up to work with the food. They had a issue with the credit card machine and manager or confident employee handled it professionally and worked together with team to keep the line moving .With all this going on my pizza still came out right even though they were clearly slammed. I was not going to go back to Mod Pizza but I was out voted by the people in my party. I'm glad I did because it was a whole different restaurant today. read more

I'm so pleased with Mod Pizza and happy it's on the hill. Even though I've tried the other local individual pizza places, I've never been overly impressed with the crust especially. But Mod Pizza serves a really great pizza, with lots of great toppings and salads too at a great price. But I am really impressed with their customer service, especially their manager Tushana - I ordered online and some of the toppings were missing when we picked it up so I went back later and let her know and she was sooo great and corrected the situation and offered to remake it, upsize it, and offered free drinks while we waited. I have no doubt this will be addressed so it won't happen in the future but she was so understanding and thoughtful and considerate that I am even more happy to frequent Mod Pizza as much as I can! Pretty good pizza. It's not much different than the new wave of fast-casual, build-your-own pizza joints such as Pieology, Blaze....I went here around 5 in the afternoon, so there was only me a couple customers. Only complaint I got is they need to ban homeless people from using their restroom. This is a business, not a homeless refuge. It stank in the restroom, like someone who didn't shower for months. I really enjoyed this pizza, especially it being so close to home. What really got me was any toppings for the same price! The crust was thin and charred perfectly, the sauce was tasty but not over powering the toppings. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because when I went to fill up my drink, there were ants EVERYWHERE on the counter where the utensils, straws, lids, etc. were. Omg! This place is amazing :) first they were very patient even when we had issues deciding on what to get. My friend and her dad struggled to make their pizza but the woman was so nice and absolutely kind. We ordered three drinks and she ended up only charging us for one which made my day! After we sat down they checked on us and made us feel super welcomed. At the end of the visit, they gave us a free pizza card and I honestly recommend this place to everyone because the employees are so generous, the place is quick and the pizza is great!! read more

I arrive at 12:30 with 5 people in front of me to order their pizza. It took 30 mins for me to make it to the cashier. It took another 15 minutes to get my pizza. Ordered takeout again because the noise inside is way to loud to eat there. Online order said would be ready in 30 min, showed up 45 min after order and it still was not ready. Only a few people there also so they were not busy. Order took another 5 min, so 20 min after their computer said it would be ready. Went through the process of ordering online and got as far as putting order and credit card details in then wouldn't process - frustrating. So phoned up and ordered to pick up. When picked up the place was slammed and the poor staff were doing as best as they could but the system doesn't work there as there's a long line to order and pay and the same person at the register deals with the take out orders. So by the time we got the pizzas home they were dry and cold and the whole experience wasn't great. Advice - order and dine in on a slow night. Pizzas very average. read more

Place is to noisy. Pie too thin, crust burnt. One size drink SMALL. YOU HAVE TO BUS YOUR OWN DISHES and the people waiting for their orders are standing front of the bins marked Trash, paper, plates, etc. as well as in front of the drink fountain. By the time I got my pizza, I could've driven to Blaze Pizza, sat down, ate it, and driven back.

We just ate lunch at Mod during another soft opening day with 50% off prices. The wait was long, not because the service was slow, but because there were so many excited customers standing in line to enter! It took about 1/2 hour to order (the line was out the door with 10 people outside and about 20 in line inside when we arrived), but one of their team members brought us menus while we waited in line, chatted to us about the history of the chain, and offered a flyer for free pizza to the first customers who arrive at opening tomorrow. The music was loud, but it kept the atmosphere upbeat and made the wait time seem less. Once we ordered, everything went quickly! The model is that there is one price for a pizza (typical personal size is their 11", though you can order larger or smaller) or salad with unlimited toppings. And they have a ton of options. The pizza is dressed in front of you and then popped into a super hot oven, and you really do have your pizza in minutes. The crust is super thin (which we happen to like) and crispy, and the toppings are clearly very fresh, the sauces flavorful. The absolute best part of the experience, though, was the staff. They were slammed--lots of hungry customers at lunch time during a soft opening--but not a single person was anything but cheerful, helpful, and welcoming. Mod is a welcome addition to the hill, and we look forward to going back soon. read more

I came to this place because I was craving pizza and did not want to go down the hill. I heard it was similar to Blaze and thought I'd give it a try. Well, I must've waited about 15 minutes to be served and ended up leaving before they even had the chance to take my order. There was only 1 person in front of me but the staff was behind on pizzas, and trust me it was NOT packed in there. Not only did they have more enough staff, but half of them were chatting and refilling the toppings and cleaning the machines instead of serving those in line. They took their time making the dough for the pizza, when I've gone to Blaze and seen slices of dough being made constantly, whether there is a line or not. Furthermore, the one employee threading the dough was not wearing gloves. Truly unsanitary. It truly seemed as though those working there were unprofessional and unreasonably lax. Maybe the pizza is tasty, but I'll never know. I'm sticking to Blaze, FAST fired pizza. read more
