I've always loved this theme of a restaurant. This was my first time visiting MOD however, I've been to the other competitive markets that have yet to reach San Antonio. I've always enjoyed beating Papa John's "unlimited" pizza special they would roll out. Personally I believe I single handily helped them develop a system to stop allowing customer to pick too many toppings. Well when MOD and the other's came to the market and they don't care how much I put on the pizza other than saying it may not cook well. I'd have to tell you it's been a blessing haha. I love walking in and saying I want everything with the exception of a few things. It brings back memories as a young pup creating the 'rainbow soda' out of the machine. Suggestions- I feel that MOD has placed themselves in a semi-hard to find location. I've been to this specific MOD several times because it's convenient but the wait staff is incredibly rude. My visit yesterday was the last straw. The employees stood around and talked to each other and just stared at me until THEY were ready to help. The guy who made my pizza gave me so much attitude. I asked for extra cheese, he put a little extra, but when I asked for more he begrudgingly added more. Anytime I asked for any extra of anything he acted like it was such a hassle. I absolutely love Mod Pizza and this is so far my favorite location!! The restaurant itself is clean, and has a very nice setup. The customer service is great and the employees are super friendly. What I most like about this place is the theme, a very aesthetic place with lots of space. The quality of the food is awesome and its just absolutely delicious. I love to customize my own pizza and the workers always put a generous amount. The variety of drinks there are great, especially their lemonades. Between Urban Bricks and MOD I would say MOD is the answer. In other cities there are Pieology and Blazed and I would say MOD and Pieology are the best. I usually get a veggie pizza. I love that I can choose what I want and have my own pizza. This location is never busy when I've been there. I'm just glad they have a location close to the house. I would definitely say check it out. It's nice not to have to get meat all the time if your significant other at the time is a meat only person. read more

This was my first time trying this place out and it didn't disappoint. It's a pretty awesome concept. The price of your pizza or salad is dependent on the size, not the amount of toppings. They cater to many dietary needs. They have gluten free dough and non-dairy cheese. They have tons of toppings and dressings to choose from. We got a margarita pizza with extra cheese. The establishment was clean and the staff was friendly but honestly I didn't think the pizza was that great. I don't want to be a Debby downer but it was pretty plain, in my opinion. But, that's just my personal opinion on taste. Other than that, my only complaint is the price for a small side salad. I want to say it was $6.50 for a tiny basic salad. Delicious thin crust pizza. They have a number of great pizza choices or you can create your own for $7.87. If you have ever eaten at Blaze - this Pizza is equal if not better to theirs! Delish! Favorite pie of the moment is the Phoenix but I add some red sauce & pesto to the white sauce. Add spicy sausage and bacon with arugula and roasted red peppers and crushed garlic. Don't forget to have them season it and cover with asiago before it hits the oven. Drizzle with more pesto and a touch of the balsamic fig sauce before digging in. BUT, the young wait staff behind the counter can be unfriendly and occasionally rude. When the Manager is present, the experience is much better, but when the staff are left on their own (e.g. Sunday afternoons), it's all angst and attitude. No smiles, no please, no thank you; we felt like we were burdening the young woman who was supposedly 'helping' us. The vibe was strong, clear, and unwelcoming. We LOVE MOD Pizza. The only reason this gets a four is because they didn't have the mini pizza's prepped. This wouldn't have been a big issue if they didn't already start my pizza and put it in the oven. I ended up waiting for several other customers while my wife waiting on her dough.
