Love this place. The location is perfect + there is outdoor seating. Everything is fresh. The pizzas are made really quickly. I like you can customize everything. Definitely add artichoke hearts to your salad or pizza. Jeremiah served me--he recommended adding a bit of blue cheese dressing to my salad, which tasted great. I was looking forward to the opening of MOD Pizza. Unfortunately, my first visit was disappointing. The staff is not as friendly as other MOD Pizza location. And although this is a chain restaurant, the food test different (and not in a good way). On a positive note, the interior of the restaurant is bright and welcoming. With pretty good pizza next door at Whole Foods and a more extensive draft beer selection, MOD is simply not a contender. read more

My first experience was top-notch! The pizza was great and the salad was the best ever! The food was ready when projected. Customer service was good with the employees being very patient to walk me through the pick up process. My second experience was AWFUL! I just left the University Place Mod Pizza and not happy! Our order was projected to be ready at 7:18 pm. I arrived at 7:16 pm. They asked me my name and said they would bring it to me. At 7:41, I went in to ask the status of my order, they did not have it. My wife just went in to University Place MOD in Tacoma, WA and asked a young man to change his gloves while making her dairy free Pizza because she is breast feeding and our son has a dairy allergy. If she has dairy or cross contamination of dairy our son is in discomfort for a day or so. This young man with black short curly hair got frustrated and had another co worker make her pizza. Definitely not happy with them and not happy with how they made her feel. And past experiences with employees rolling there eyes at us when we have asked them to change there gloves. Walked in today and they had two staff members working. The lady at the counter was cold and not welcoming, as we walked in she went to get the other team member to come make our pizza. Everything was going well until the pizza was about to be boxed. The lady was either sweeping and at the same time flipping the pizza, I did not say anything, Until she took the pizza out of the oven to put in the box. All the time sweeping and handle the broom and about to touch the pizza to cut it when I asked her to wash her hands. She had the audacity to roll her eyes when I asked her to do. I understand times are hard and also with all that's going on, I expected more from the business. Went there today for lunch. It was just ok for us. The service wasn't fast and while waiting for the family in front of me to finish ordering, I was the only one in line after them at this point when one of the employees came over with an online order and the guy started making that order before mine, while I was standing there watching him. I can see if it was before me in line but this order clearly came in AFTER us. He should have started that order after he took my order. Didn't see any recycling offered for aluminum cans or anything else, maybe I just missed it. The young man that was cashiering kept forgetting to give people their cups for drinks. Had to wait and ask for a cup for an iced tea we purchased and a cup to pour a canned beer in, he said I could use a 4oz water cup? Really!?? He finally did give me a "small" plastic cup with some reservation and slight arm twisting. They should offer glass glasses for beer, rather than disposable plastic for everything. Compostable silver ware would be great as well. Would like to have seen more beer selections on tap, they just had 2. I did really like that they had Fremont Lush, although in a can. The salad was delicious! The space is big and welcoming and the pizza was about average. We will try it again some other time. read more
