It is relaxing and fun, the leg massage is so good for circulation and the technicians are delightful. Cool and comfortable, great massage chairs and TV! Modern Nails is the best salon I have been to for hands and feet. They have made changes to their practice ensuring staff and customers are protected from covid 19. While they do a great job, they are not good at honoring their marketed discounts. For example I got a text saying 10% off services post covid 19, but I realized they failed to give me the discount. I am partially to blame for that as I could not remember the prices and they do not post them, but I could have asked. When I got home I looked up their prices online and realized I had been charged full price. Overall happy, just wish they would post their prices in store and automatically honor discounts. read more

I have come here a couple times with my friend who goes here regularly. It is a decent nail salon; decent prices & location, clean stations and bathroom... but the reason I give this salon 2 stars is because while I was getting a manicure, my stylist was conversating [in Cantonese] with her co worker next to her on and off and when another customer walked out of the salon, my stylist immediately says to her co worker next to her in plain English, "Don't talk about her [customer who just walked out], she speaks Cantonese." It's one thing to discreetly talk shit about your customers in your own language right in front of them. I am well aware that happens in lots of salons. But it is a whole nother level of RUDE to basically admit [in plain English] in front of other customers that you talk about the customers in ways they may not appreciate if they could hear you. Definitely did not make me feel very comfortable or welcome. I will not return. read more

This place is just ok. I got my nails done in gel. I they looked great after they were done but a few days after the top coat began to peel on on right hand. After that peals the polish cracked. This never happened before on gel nails so I thought it was really weird. Because they didn't last long and the top coat peeled I don't think I would go back. read more

I Yelped it after I pulled in (I was only in the area to meet a friend and I was very early) and was pleasantly surprised by the reviews. I am extremely picky about my nails and so was feeling lucky. I walked in on Friday evening and they took me right away. There were a few customers getting nail or pedicure services, the place is bright and clean (if a bit in need of some color and a sprucing up), and everyone seemed nice. It was a welcoming entrance so I felt it was a good choice so far. I sat down with Jane and asked for a new set (acrylic tips). She pushed the pink and whites a bit too much, but was nice enough to take No for an answer and proceed with the regular tips. She did a great job, took her time, was firm but gentle, and did exactly as I asked. Even as we shaped them (I can be a bit... stubborn.... about how my nails look) she was careful, attentive, and did a fantastic job. She was conversational but also appropriately quiet; we would chat here and there and she was very nice. It was also nice just to relax and enjoy the few minutes of respite before the evening got hectic. People were coming in after I sat down and the shop was getting quite busy. Because I was already in a chair and paying for services, Jane asked me if I wanted a pedicure, too (offering it to me ahead of any new customers). I appreciated that and, If I had the time, would have taken her up on it. Three stars instead of 4 because the topcoat just doesn't want to stay shiny (it's only been a couple days); that's a commentary on product quality (or lack thereof). She also could have done a little better on cuticle cleanup. However, the nails themselves are done well, within my specific requests, and the staff was great. I will go back. read more

If you haven't had a peddi in a very long time, I suggest in doing the luxury peddi and for those that just need a little update once every 2 weeks, I suggest doing the $15 mini Peddi. read more

Manicures are one of my greatest pleasures in life. It is my favorite way to TREAT YOSELF. Well, honestly, my bestie and I ended up at Modern Nails only after trying to walk in to our usual nail salon on a whim and they were too busy for us. We went to Modern Nails because it was right down the street and had decent reviews. Well, I almost wish I had just gone home and treated myself with a pizza instead. The salon is clean, that is for sure. The woman doing my nails was indifferent to the fact that I was even there. She was on her cellphone the whole time, and basically ignored that there was a person attached to the hands she was working on. Also, they didn't even try to seat me and my bestie together, even though the salon was EMPTY and we clearly walked in together. The nails were fine for the first day or two. But after that, they began to crack and the top coat got dirty. Yes, I'm a teacher so my hands go through A LOT of wear and tear, but at our usual places, this is never an issue! Needless to say, I will never be going back to Modern Nails. read more

I have tried this salon a few times because it is close to where I live... On that note each time I have had issues! Today I tried to get a gel fade and I HATED THE WAY IT TURNED OUT! After voicing my concerns the girl said it was due to the color ?? Really !!! She added a second color so I could tolerate my nails! When I asked for them to be redone she said I would have to pay full price for the redo plus 5 for take off !! Very unhappy will not ever go back!!! The tools don't look new... and during the callous removal she broke some skin on the right side of my big toe. I prefer aggressive pedicures because nobody wants to pay for a fluff pedicure they gets no old skin off. But this was rough even for me. Massage sucked.
