This is the best panaderia I've found in Long Beach. I love that they have little smaller sized pieces of pan dulce that you can purchase here instead of the standard size. That way you can try all your favorites.......yes.......I'm a kid again every time I visit a panaderia. I've tried everything here and there isn't anything that isn't good. Everything is really fresh in the morning. Prices are very good in an economy that's seen a lot of inflation in the bread space :) Super clean, just remember to lock your car when you go in......not exactly the safest area.

Don't show up on Monday because basically there's nothing there. It's good don't get me wrong, but you are gonna pay a pretty price.

    Monica's from the outside.

A staple in my household every time my sister comes over to visit from Long Beach. We always have Monica's pan dulce with cafecito on the weekends she comes over. And every single time my sister says, "The conchitas are fresh!" And ohhh man, they sure are! They offer pan dulce of all sorts and even cakes, and other pastries as well. I came by on a Sunday around 12ishpm and all of the display cases were filled with so many yummy breads it was hard to choose. I've had Monica's plenty of times but had never visited their storefront, even when I did live in LB so it was pretty cool to see where it all starts.

The quality of your bread is no longer there taste is horrible

You shouldn't even get one star quality. The bread sucks. It's hard and no even tastes

    Me looking for the cheese

The tamales used to be bomb kool amount of cheese and chile but now there getting stingy with how much they put in it I did this to look for the cheese just a piece the size of my pinky has more masa than anything

Loved their bread and the jalapeño cheese bread! It has been a couple months since i've had pan dulce and this just did me well. Don't reccomend their champurrado; didn't taste well.

Cake with no lid ( I had to pay an extra $3 for another box to create a makeshift lid)

I bought masa for tamales. They were so tasty. Masa gives them the delicious flavor. Will buy my masa every year from Monica's bakery

Their pan dulce is really good but their Tamales are super dry and full of masa and no meat. I do not recommend the tamales

You must drive around and find parking and hope someone is leaving a close parking spot rather than 2 blocks away. Which happened to us we found parking in a residential neighborhood and walked to Sweet Jill's Bakery. As we walk inside I read a sign that said "Cash Only" Boy I was lucky they had an amt since I was carrying just a card. There were a few customers in front of me and my friends. We were drawn into everything that was displayed. Such a huge variety of sweets to choose from other than the cinnamon rolls we originally came to get. I ended up getting a oreo cheesecake, strawberry parfait, 2 peanut butter and two chocolate chips cookies, bread pudding. I got something for everyone. My cheesecake was delicious I devoured it did not save a bite lol. Portion size was huge so worth the calories and money. Bathrooms available Atm available

We were immediately greeted by a very nice young lady working there. She told us about all of the desserts and even recommended a few. Here is our review of everything we got! The Opposite: 7.5/10. classic, nothing special. Death by Chocolate: 9/10. Loved it! Chocolate Mint: 9/10. Delicious! Like a thin mint as a cupcake. Big Peanut Butter cookie: 10/10. Sweet, salty, and perfectly paired with melted chocolate on top! Best pb cookie I've tried! We would definitely come back. They also offer mini options for most of the cupcakes if you prefer bite-sized treats. If you are wanting to fulfill your sugar cravings, don't hesitate to stop by here!!

What I was disappointed with is that you would allow me to select the coffee cake I wanted even though I should be able to choose if I am paying for it. I was told that the coffee cake has to stay balanced and I couldn't pick the slice from the bottom. And you put both items in the same container. The brownie was not good it tasted very dry it didn't taste fresh at all. For being a first time customer. I didn't have the best experience in returning.

I called ahead to let them know we'd be about 10 minutes late. I was told they hold reservations for up to 15 minutes, so I figured we were fine. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our table had already been given away, and we had to wait another 10 minutes or so. That said, once we got past the initial hiccup, things really turned around. The small waiting area had a cozy charm, and walking into the outdoor back patio--with a live saxophonist playing--felt genuinely magical. The food absolutely delivered. The spaghetti carbonara was spot on, and the lasagna was just as impressive. We finished with tiramisu and cannoli, and honestly, it felt like we were transported back to Italy. Despite the rocky start, the ambiance and food made it a memorable experience.

I love that they had interesting flavors and even seasonal flavors as well, such as hot cocoa. I tried their carrot and banana butterscotch with chocolate chip. Both were delicious but I liked the carrot one better. It even had raisins and pineapple in it I think. It was moist and the cream cheese frosting was yummy. The banana butterscotch one was good too but not as moist and the frosting was a little too sweet for my taste. But both were good. Besides bundt cakes of different sizes, they also had cookies and ice cream sandwiches. Lots more flavors too. I do want to come back and try their other flavors and cookies. I highly recommend if you are looking for al alternative Bundt cake spot in the area. Parking is easy since it is located in a strip mall and share a lot. It's a grab and go type of spot. Not really a place to sit and enjoy your treat.
