I got to know Moon donuts because they are the donuts that we would sell at The Redondo Sunset Ball Park. But I dropped in one day since I was also in that mini mall getting dinner, and even though it was later in the day, I was surprised at what a great selection they still had and I liked that they offered some unique donuts! I love the red velvet donuts, the blueberry donuts which are both cake donuts but are not dry at all. I also love the maple with bacon on top! Feels totally make a special treat and her sweet salty balance each other out nicely. I will definitely make a special trip here again even when I don't have to pick up dinner. read more

Such a sad day in my doughnut loving life. This used to be my favorite doughnut shop in LA, and pretty much anywhere. Always high quality, generous on toppings, tasty and reasonably priced. I moved out of the area and haven't been here in 3 years. What a change, and not a good one. Price for half a dozen more than doubled in price. Quality drastically lower too. The chocolate in my old fashioned fridge as see through, unlike how they used to be. The glazed twist was very good though. Seems like they're much more focused on the fancy/decorative doughnuts, and have moved away from the basics. It's a true tragedy and a very sad day in my doughnut loving life. read more

This review is to express my disappointment with my recent purchase of Cronuts from Moon Donuts. Although I purchased the items in the afternoon, I had expected a fresh and high-quality product given the premium pricing of $4.50 each! Unfortunately, the bread tasted like old, crusty toast and was extremely hard and chewy to the point where it was clearly stale.I shared the cronuts with friends and everyone present had the same opinion. I called the same day to express my concern, I was told that the product I purchased was likely to be old because it was purchased late in the afternoon. I find this explanation unacceptable, as it implies that their products are only good during the morning hours??! .I am extremely disappointed in the lack of quality control and customer service provided. As a result, I would strongly advise others to avoid Moon Donuts!! read more

It was hard to get anyone attention for service. Came in after 6:30 at night craving a donut - it was ok.. I don't think flint's in the evening are fresh so I wasn't expecting the donut to be fresh but the apple fritter was definitely greasy. read more

They have great donuts here. Standard classics on the left, super fancy on the right. It gets spendy when you buy the fancies though, so watch out if you don't want to spend $30 for a dozen donuts. Speaking of the fancies, the Nutella Cronut is delightful. Crispy, flaky, layery goodness with a touch of rich chocolate hazelnut spread. Great local donut shop. read more

Not surprised with the very high rating. Moon donuts is located at the corner of Prospect Ave and Torrance Blvd. The hours is very nice, opens at 4am and closes at 7pm Mon-Saturday but closes early Sunday. I came here Saturday morning around 5am. I came here because of its high rating. I live around here but I never came here. I ordered two dozen donuts which was $11 per dozen. There were a lot of selection! I got two of every donuts. They taste really good! The asian man behind the counter asked me what my favorite donut was. I told him i liked the jelly-filled donut and the sprinkled donut. He gave me a free jelly donut which was generous of him. I wanted to tip but I didn't have cash on me. Would definitely come back for more donuts! read more

Moon Donuts is the best in the South Bay! They have an amazing variety from unique flavors (green tea, strawberry cream, etc.) to the classics. I love their cake donuts and sugar donuts. They are fresh and service is speedy! Prices are reasonable. I've also had their breakfast sandwiches and there were good as well. There is a private lot or street parking. There's usually a line on the weekends (early morning) but it moves fast. Go and get that donut! read more

Had the pleasure of stopping in today at 11:30 for the first time. Donuts were fresh - texture on old fashioned maple is excellent, flavor is great. Donut holes have a nice chewy consistency and they're fresh. The hero for my meal was the veggie sandwich on wheat. Wow, what wonderful flavor and so fresh! Ripe avocado, mild cheese, a little bite from the pickled jalepeno, crisp iceberg lettuce and crunchy sprouts are among the ingredients on this one. Quite filling and flavorful. $17 got me out the door with 6 donut holes, one old fashioned, one small coffee and one sandwich. Pretty steep but worth the trip if you like a consistently well-made donut. The selection of adorable kid-focused decorated cake donuts was fun to peruse. Skip the coffee. In my quest to find the ultimate Bear Claw, I stopped by Moon Donuts. Their display case is full of goodies and there were several people before me buying a dozen assorted donuts. There went my blood sugar count... This was a little more expensive than the shops I have been too. The average price now is about 2 bucks. Geez, I remember when they were 50 cents. Well anyway, it was good, but the filling had a little to much cinnamon for me and of course like all donuts it was sweet. I like to taste the apple filling and most donut shops use canned filling. Maybe they added a little more cinnamon to it. read more

Best donuts and breakfast croissant sandwiches coming out of this place. I drove a few miles to try it, but I was very impressed by how much bacon they put in my sandwich, The bacon maple donuts are unbelievable as is their normal array of donuts. Best donuts in Redondo hands down. I walk there a couple times a week...solid. Not too greasy, lots of classic flavors. Polite staff and good prices. The hole in the wall donut places are the absolute best. No reason to spend 3x as much on foo-foo Randy's Donuts when there's a great place up the block. read more

My #1 Krispy Kreme fan decided to help me review a few of the top-rated donut stops in the 4-mile radius around the condo. It's in the same strip mall as Taishi Hainan Chicken if you enjoy their cuisine which, in turn, enjoys a medium sized parking lot with high turnover. This was our first stop, and they were out of glazed raised on a late morning weekend, so we selected a sugar twist instead. Of the three we tried, this was the least favored. Not that it was bad per se, but it just didn't stand out in any way from the other two choices or any other donut I've ever had. The dough was less rich, less moist and overall, just average in flavor. I'd love to see why the reviews are raving, but it wasn't there for us. read more

This morning was cold and I wanted to have a hot coffee! Walked in moons donut and there was a lady on the phone having a full blown conversation, she saw me and ignored me for over a minute and she looked at me 3 times and then gave me her back and didn't turn back!!! So I left! So sad because I used to love this place but with service like that, I rather make my own coffee and get donuts from Mackays donuts on Artesia! Better service and gentlemen there always has a smile on his face and doesn't ignore you!! so close and have to stop going there! read more

I continued to yell back at them, explaining that there were absolutely no hash browns in my omelette and I want a refund for the hash browns immediately. Finally, after making me yell and argue with them for probably 3 minutes in front of the whole restaurant, she finally agreed to refund the $3. Horrible service, and dishonest. They tried everything they could to not give me a refund when there was no hash browns and I paid for them. Worst service ever.

During my freebies birthday run yesterday, I was planning on going to Old Ferry Donut after picking up a boba next door, only to find the shop closed. ＼(｀0´)／ Known for unique flavors & vibrant retro-pop 70s branding (cute hamster mascot with bold orange & brilliant blue colors; it's featured on 2-/4-donut boxes), this Korean-inspired premium donut shop originated in Seoul a decade ago before expanding to several S. CA locations, opening in Torrance a couple of years ago. OFD's donuts are popular for its rich creams & chewy dough; Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée are just 2 of their signature flavors. I was going through a donut phase when I initially stopped by Old Ferry Donut. Large windows let lots of light in, & once you step across the threshold, you're hit with a strong K-pop vibe & loud music. They even had a collab with SEVENTEEN last fall during their tour with 2 flavors: Marble Strawberry & Blue Coconut! Unlike the regular mom & pop's or commercialized donut shops, they don't offer a discounted 1/2 or full dozen box. After asking what's their most popular picks, I chose Butter Pistachio & Crème Brûlée, & added Lemon Poppyseed & Raspberry Ring for myself, Cookies & Cream & Boston Cream for the kiddos. Service was alright... I didn't need a sales pitch, but would like some info on the donuts to make an informed decision since they're at a premium price even though they're not "freshly made" (every hour or less) like SD&C just down the street. The Butter Pistachio is a major hit... fluffy & light, a slightly chewy yeasty donut stuffed with a mildly sweet whipped pistachio cream filling & topped with a salty-sweet buttery streusel... how can you not be addicted? We visited late at night, around 11 pm, and were pleasantly surprised to find that almost every single donut was still warm and delicious. They also offer a range of premium donuts and Cronuts, which we couldn't resist trying. We ended up ordering half a dozen, and all six of us thoroughly enjoyed them. Wow! I just love Moon Donuts! I work close to Redondo Beach and once in awhile I would get a dozen or two to take to work. The donuts are fresh and so good! It's family owned and they have been there many years, seeing Jenny's kids working and growing up.
