LA has no shortage of donut shops in every neighborhood, so when we moved back to South Bay I was excited to figure out which donut shop would become *our* donut shop. It's Moon, and I don't even need to bother entertaining elsewhere. I rolled in at 8:00 on a Saturday morning to fully stocked display cases and didn't even have to wait in line. That's insane. Normally if you want your pick of the full menu you've gotta get up before the sun and haul it to beat the crowd. The guy at the counter is so cute! Every time I made a choice, he'd say, "Oooh fire" or "So goood" or "it's daaank." I love employees who have fun with their job, and aren't afraid to show their personality while interacting with customers. That kind of experience always makes me want to come back. These are the best donuts I've ever had. Super light, fluffy, not overly sweet, and in so many unique flavors! The Dubai and the Thai Tea were my favorite, only because I've never had anything like those before. Truly unique! I've never paid $45 for a dozen donuts in my life, but damn this is so, so worth it. These are an absolute treat.

I had a taste for doughnuts and this one was highly recommended! As it was close to where I was working, I decided to pop into this shop. The shop features traditional doughnuts as well as fancy doughnuts. The selection of doughnuts is vast. Plus they offer a selection of drinks to enjoy with your doughnuts. The doughnuts come in a super cute box designed for doughnuts. We enjoyed the traditional doughnuts with sprinkles. The staff at the bakery were super friendly and patient with us as it was our first time visiting. There is a parking lot that offers free parking.

Fly me to the moon....Moon Donuts that is! A local gem in Redondo Beach in tiny strip mall on Torrance Blvd. Stopped by on a Sunday morning because I wanted to get two bagels with cream cheese. A few customers were ahead of me and the guy at the counter took care of them quickly. Lots of choices from standard, typical donuts to specialty ones as well as savory croissants and sandwiches. Check out my photos of donuts! I was here on Super Bowl Sunday morning and they had football donuts. At the cold beverages counter there were also many plastic to go cups filled with OJ. Appeared to be freshly squeezed that AM. Will likely return to try a cup another time. Customer service was kind and efficient. A dear late friend that lived near here used to be a regular at Moon Donuts. It's a solid 4 stars for Moon!

Apple fritter for the win. This is an extraordinary donut shop. Always busy and for good reason. I would love to try their sandwiches but I can't get past the donuts!! Ok, bye.

Too Good To Go App Review I found this place while searching online for a quick snack to bring my partner at work. I originally planned on getting just two or three donuts, but I ended up leaving with a whole bag because everything looked so good! These aren't your average donuts..they're creative, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Even hours later, or even the next day, they still taste amazing. A few seconds in the microwave or air fryer makes them taste almost fresh again. There were so many donuts that my partner ended up sharing them with his coworkers, and they were a huge hit. It was nice knowing more people got to try them, especially since they all live nearby while we don't. Anyone I know who lives in that area will definitely be getting my recommendation. The customer service has been excellent both times I've visited. I've gone once during a busy rush and once when it was slow, and the service was just as friendly and efficient each time. I even asked the staff for their favorite flavors, and they were happy to share recommendations. I'll definitely be back for him to try more flavors. If you're looking for unique, high-quality donuts with amazing customer service, I highly recommend this place. It's easily one of the best donut shops I've found in the area.

tl;dr the crummy cronuts and premium prices at this neighborhood favorite overshadow the otherwise solid fritter Donut shops are never more than a stone's throw away across Los Angeles, and every Angeleno has their neighborhood favorite. A popular local spot is Moon Donut in Torrance. This family-run bakery is best known for its custard-filled donut varieties, but the dizzying selection makes picking just one donut a challenge. Moon Donuts shares a lime-green strip mall with a smoke shop and a chicken shop. But on a weekend morning, all of the bustle is donut-focused; expect a steady stream of customers. The interior is brightly lit, industrial, and a little run-down. Shelves upon shelves of donuts are neatly organized in the displays to the right, while a short refrigerator section to the left is filled with grab-and-go beverages. The hot menu is displayed on flat screens behind the counter, and coffee fixings are stacked on a stainless-steel shelf in the corner. My partner and I arrived mid-morning on a Sunday, and the staff were quick to take our order. We decided on an Apple Fritter and a Cookie Cronut. Moon's fritter was unlike any I've ever had. Uniquely, it was filled with walnuts, but the apple flavor was minimal; perhaps the donut would be more aptly described as a "cinnamon-walnut fritter". The dough was dense, crispy, and syrupy (all pros to me), but the absence of apple held this fritter back from being one of my favorites across LA. Meanwhile, the cronut was an ambitious and delicious-sounding option that fell flat in practice. The cookie was overcooked and mostly tasteless, while the donut was essentially just a ring-shaped croissant; both components were inferior to something I could buy at Costco. Rarely do I leave a donut on the table (especially a premium and expensive one like this), but I simply couldn't choke this one down. Service was efficient, and our total clocked in above $9 (taking into account Moon's credit card surcharge). While the fritter had its positives, the cronut was simply unpalatable. As such, I will probably steer clear of Moon in the future, even if I'm already in the neighborhood.

Love their regular donuts. Light and fluffy. We went around noon and there weren't a lot of the regular donuts left. There were plenty of specialty ones left tho. I've tried the specialty ones before and they were a lil mediocre but the designs on them are nice and eye catching. If you go with a child, they give out one donut hole for free.

SO YUMMY! I am somewhat of a donut snob...and these were so fresh and delicious! The prices are great too for donuts with such great flavors and presentation. Staff was friendly and service was quick even with the small line that was there when we arrived. Small lot but no issue finding a parking spot. Will be back! I saw they also do custom donuts!

Amazing donuts for our faculty meeting. Donuts were fresh, and delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Moon donuts is close to my work site and always a hit.

    Tasteless happy birthday letter donuts

I ordered letter donuts for my boyfriend's birthday and was pretty disappointed. First, the letters were sloppy and the icing looked ok. As soon as I brought them home, we were really excited to try them out. To both of our surprise, they had zero taste! They weren't sweet. at. all. There wasn't any glaze and it was only blue icing, which wasn't sweet. I even called the store and asked about them and the lady said that's how they're done because it's too expensive to add glaze... wouldn't you think that the donuts' taste is as important as their look? Apparently not. I paid a premium price for them, too. I'm really disappointed because I really wanted to support this small business, but I will not be back.

The restaurant has inside seating for 40 guests and outside for 30. We arrived between breakfast and lunchtime and were able to get the last outside table. The attentive staff got us seated right away, and after browsing through their menu, we ordered the following items (arrived in 15 minutes) : Marine: The buckwheat outer layer was soft, not soggy, and with nice resistance. The light creamy tomato-based dressing with sliced mushrooms was pleasantly flavorful. Both shrimp and scallops were of good size, fresh and juicy. Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Seasoned bacon, scrambled egg, onion, and mushroom added nice savoriness to the dish. The portions were sensible and the prices were reasonable. Very nice culinary experience.

The Machaca Scramble was the most flavorful and best tasting dish we had at our table as the corned beef hash and eggs were standard (not bad but nothing to Yelp rave about). By far the best part was the Bottomless Mimosas which are offered everyday, not just on the weekends! Big bonus! Our server was attentive and had a happy disposition. I felt Serendipity has so much great potential, between the decor, service and bottomless mimosas I'd imagine they would have more birthdays or group celebrations going on, especially for such a large space. But the vibe was a bit off with the low playing Spanish music, I would imagine if they had more pop music or upbeat music to fit the vibe of the place they'd have more of a fun vibe. Not that there is anything wrong with Spanish music, it just wasn't jiving with the vibe of the place and was so low and not so up beat (romantic Spanish ballads were playing). The laminated menus also gave an old diner vibe instead of trendy "serendipity" vibe. I'll still come back to see if they can match the vibe to the decor and try a few other menu items, but I do hope they up the ambiance. And get that extra star status!
