I saw this chef on the food network a few weeks ago amd put it on my list. It was the best meal and tje best decision I have made in a while. The staff is super nice, fantastic service. Peter the bar tender was the best. The chef & owner Asia Mei was actually personally delivering every dish to the customers! Now for the food. I had the Jalapeno rangoons which was an excellent mix of spicy, creamy, and sweet wrapped in a perfectly crispy shell. Then came the chicken and waffles. It saus on the menu that its "the best in Boston" boy, do I believe it! Hands down the best chicken amd waffles I have ever had. That waffle (though a bit small. Aparently you can order an extra if you want) was absolutely wicked. Purely insane! The texture, density, and flavor are nuts. It almost seemed like the waffle was lightly deep fried after it was cooked, to create the perfectly firm outer bits and deliciously moist soft insides. The chicken that comes with it must be the most tender chicken I have ever had, falling off the bone like you would not believe and perfectly crunchy batter crust. I asked for some hot sauce to go with it, as I always like that mix of sweet and spicy with chicken and waffles. I didn't use any, because it didnt need it, it was already perfect. Drinks and the bread putting for desert were also suitably delicious but nothing can top that chicken and waffles so I will just stop there. This place is now a must visit any time I am in Boston. So Delicious! Chef Asia comes up with such unique and tasty dishes! For brunch, I have had the Leslie knop chicken and waffles, which are the best chicken and waffles I have ever had! Then I had the crab eggs Benedict and I could not stop eating it! My BF had the Ron Swanson egg quesadilla and he said you can't get that type of dish anywhere else! The sweets like French toast and red velvet pancakes were the best balance between sweet and salty. You won't regret visiting! read more

My boyfriend's brother and sister-in-law took us to this restaurant when we were in town visiting. They talked up their fried chicken wings so clearly we had to get it. OH MY GAWD. Their fried chicken wings = HEAVENLY. We also ordered the jalapeño crab rangoon and party tots - AMAZING. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly. Such a amazing gem in the area. We went for brunch everything was delightful and unique and brought to us by the chef. I really appreciate the experience the place has to offer and all the hard work the owner does! She has a lot of her artwork displayed beautifully throughout the restaurant and is so dedicated to such a hands on approach by making sure to visit all customers and by creating such a unique menu that really shows just how creative she is. Came here a few weeks ago to grab a drink and I was blown away by how friendly everyone was. It definitely seemed like a place with a lot of regulars. The bartender was amazing! I live in South End and have been walking by this restaurant whenever I go to the Seaport district. I thought it's about time for me to give it a try. I stopped by during a weeknight for dinner. Well, I won't go back again. I got the "THE LESLIE KNOPE" FRIED CHICKEN AND WAFFLE", claimed to be "Moonshine's "Best of Boston" Fried Chicken, Homemade Waffle, Sriracha-Bourbon Awesome Sauce, Cinnamon Honey Butter." It was simply horrible. There are 4 pieces of chicken: 2 drumsticks and 2 thighs. I would call this a chicken wing dinner: all pieces are baby size. It's just a deep fried chicken wings. The serving size was not that a big deal. The chicken was not fresh: the meat was mushy - seriously. The waffle was sort of eatable. There was no memorable flavor as a whole. The sauce (drizzled) or the butter (dumped on the top of waffle) were no way to rescue the chicken. If this is the Best of Boston, KFC should win the Best of US. The chicken simply got murdered twice: the first was when it was butchered and the second was when it was made to a dish by this restaurant. The only good thing is: I was sitting at the bar for the dinner. The bartender was friendly and kept things moving. That's about it. This restaurant is located in a up-and-coming area in Boston. To this restaurant: if you want to do a good business, you need to try harder. Don't take shortcut. Best of luck. read more

while my family and i weren't able to have the "complete" dining experience here, we were still very happy with the service and food that we were given. before arriving, we had made a reservation through resy. the hostess quickly seated us as soon as we arrived. the appetizers probably only took around 15-20 minutes to come out, but the entrees are a different story. after waiting for almost an hour, the waitress came out and told us that their kitchen had experienced an electrical issue and that our food wasn't able to be made. she told us that she would update us about whether they'd be able to fix the technical difficulties and get the kitchen back up and running, but unfortunately, they weren't able to. so, they let us have our appetizers free of charge, which we were fine with. since the staff seemed to be really kind, there's not much to complain about. although we wished that we would've been able to eat our entrees too, we were still pleased with the appetizers that we had. 10/10/21 -local mixed greens salad 10: this salad had japanese ginger-sesame carrot vinaigrette on top of some crispy olive oil roasted kale and other greens. while simple, we were surprised about how good this tasted!you could tell that the kale was tossed evenly in the dressing, since every bite was pretty consistent. the greens were a refreshing choice and a popular dish here for a reason! i wouldn't get this for just one person, since it's not the most filling. but, the taste and quality are both great. (4/5) -tater tot poutine 16: the tater tot poutine is actually an entree that's only available during weekend brunch times, which is from 10:30 am-3:00 pm. however, we considered it an appetizer since it's pretty much a shareable dish. the tater tots are covered in red-eye gravy, chinese sausage, green onions, and chopped melted white cheese! the chinese sausage was our favorite part of it, which added a great savory factor to the whole dish. not only was the cheese pull safistying, but the overall presentation was quite impressive. however, i definitely wouldn't order this just for one person's entree, since it's a really hefty dish. for $16, it's kind of pricey, but worth it if sharing among multiple people. (4.5/5) overall, i'd definitely come back to moonshine 152 sometime in the future. hopefully, their kitchen won't break down during that visit, because i'm really looking forward to trying some of their entree dishes! the tater tot poutine and local mixed greens salad are a must get to share with the table. i'd highly recommend that you order them if you're dining with a group! read more

Omg! You have to go here, it's like hands down amazing quality food. I had brunch and was so impressed with everything that came out. The fried avocado appetizer was so flavorful with a choice in house made oil. The corned beef hash with the best beer bread you will ever taste was to die for. And the butterscotch pudding was perfect. The chef even came out and talked to us and took the kids for a tour of the kitchen they were so excited. Really enjoyed the taste of my Thai basil chicken and rice bowl. However, for $24 the portion was extremely small. One piece of chicken, some white rice and 4-5 slivers of a bell pepper is what this dish consisted of. Hard to be impressed by that for $24. read more

There did everything right from service- apps were good, salad was delicious, entrees were great and butterscotch pudding was outstanding. The service was remarkable, and it's such a chill spot to hang and really just enjoy life, and really comforting food. It's worth a drive as it's really a great experience. This has to absolutely been the best restaurant experience I have ever had in my years living here in Boston. Where do I even begin. For starters we had patatas bravas and party Brussels that did not disappoint. The rest of the food was out of this world. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was literally falling off the bone at the slightest touch and it has an amazing crunch and kick of flavor. The waffle was so good I had ordered a second waffle half way through my meal because I scarfed my first one down in seconds. To top it all off we had the honor of meeting the chef and she is, for the lack of a better work, badass. 10/10 recommend if you want some top tier food, drinks, and hospitality. Asia, Chef/Owner, also brought out some homemade rice crispies with potato chips in them and let's just say I would've bought bags of that stuff bc they were that good. Definitely lives up to the rating. My Cajun fish of the day was impeccable with the accoutrements. Usually when you go to restaurants owned by famous chefs you're inevitably disappointed by their dishes. A fine understated dining experience that doesn't need a famous name behind it. All of the main courses were flavorful and portioned appropriately without leaving you too stuffed. Most restaurants rarely live up to their billing but their spin on tradition dishes don't disappoint. I rarely post a review but I felt compelled to offer my compliments to the chef. Another important ingredient is the staff who were knowledgeable and unobtrusive but attentive and available when needed. You could go to a far more exclusive and pricier dining establishment but why unless you want to be seen rather than the real reason you go to dine is to enjoy the meal with people you want to be with on the final meal of the day. Another bonus was to dine outside in their patio with a crisp and not too warm evening. Quite often the dining experience doesn't measure up to the anticipation of the favorable reviews but this definitely delivers in all the right ways. They didn't ask us if we had room for deserts but it wasn't needed. Quite often that ruins a meal than compliments it so we didn't notice nor felt amiss without it. The assortment of drinks were plentiful and varied and complimented our meal. An extra fine touch was being served by the chef who complimented my choice of Cajun fish of the day which happened to be one of her personal favorites. The fish happened to be Tilapia which usually is an ordinary fish flavored in a subtle but extraordinary way that I had to eat in small morsels to purposely extend my dining experience. As a family we eat out 2 to 3 times a week. Tonight we tried Moonshine 152 and was absolutely blown away by the delicious & innovative dishes from Chef Asia. As soon as we walked in it was all positive vibes and a friendly atmosphere. For appetizers we ordered the fried chicken and Brussels sprout smothered with kimchi butter, sweet chili, truffled teriyaki sauce. Let's start with the chicken...hands down the best fried chicken evah.... in all of Boston! We're talking light, crispy, fall off the bone, juicy, chicken drums and wings! And that sauce though .... poblano ranch sauce complimented the chicken perfectly! Trust me, this is not the typical buttermilk fried chicken. The Brussels sprout were absolutely delicious and the Asian fusion of flavors made this dish so tasty and unique. After the appetizers we wanted more...we wanted to try the whole menu haha My kid was so excited about the food. Chef Asia surprised us with crispy Parmesan polenta topped with fried kale? This wasn't even on the menu and she said she made it for us "just for fun." We took a bite and WOW! You can see the passion from Chef Asia come through the presentation, flavors, thoughtfulness of ingredients.... I'm not really sure how to put it into words but you can feel the love she puts into her food. For entrees we had chicken and waffles. mushroom burger, Char Sui style pork ribs and everything was fresh and delicious. This place is special and I can't wait to go back! Chef Asia you are amazing! Moonshine has been my go to spot for two years now and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the team! If you are looking for great drinks and food, then this spot is a must!! Got in town after long flight and didn't want to leave hotel (freezing outside). I was looking for something with quick delivery yet comforting food. Moonshine was 4 1/2 stars and a short delivery time (under an hour). First, please note that I had my food delivered by grub hub and it arrived early. My food was packaged neatly and still hot. The pork meatball noodle soup was exactly what I needed on a cold day. A little gingery and spicy, the broth definitely hit the spot. Lots of veggies and mushrooms (whole shiitakes) and the pork meat balls had a nice texture with added crunch from what I believe were water chestnuts. I also ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffle was amazing! It was sweet but not too much, with a hint of cinnamon. But it was the texture of the waffle edges that I loved! Almost sugary, the waffle was crispy on the outside yet soft in the middle. The chicken was probably my least favorite. The skin was very crispy but the chicken was too tender for my preference. I prefer my fried chicken to have more mouth feel to it (I'm the same with my pork ribs and brisket) and chew the bite. Some people like the fall off the bone meat, it's a preference thing so if you like that, you'll like this dish. Oh, they also threw in a free butterscotch pudding which was delicious! I should have put the pudding on top of my waffle! Good food, quick delivery and a nice dessert surprise. I will definitely eat here again the next time I'm in Boston, hopefully for brunch. read more
