Stopped by this gem because I was craving a good breakfast. Well, what can I say. We were referred to the right place. I ordered the Encino's Egg White Frittata. This was delicious!! The eggs were light, and fluffy. The veggies were tender , and vibrant, not too mushy, and lastly the cheese on top was a little gooey, stretchy, and blistered. This frittata was perfect. I didn't try my table mates dishes but I'm sure they were delicious. Both plates were empty when we left. I will definitely be back to try a different dish in the future.
The food portions are HUGE and well worth the price and wait! Great diner for large families as it seems they don't require reservations for large parties. You SHOULD expect a wait, especially on the weekend. The wait is anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on when you line up. I arrived at 9:30AM on Father's Day and waited about 70 minutes to be seated at 10:40AM. The front of house did estimate about an hour wait and she was right. The Yelp waitlist isn't super accurate as people do leave the queue, I was 18th in line when I was seated. The staff are doing their best to get the food and customers in and out. They are quick and the food comes out fast and hot! I'm shocked that they were still able to check up on their tables and be friendly while fielding so many orders and customers! Speaks to their great customer service. Ronnie's Scrumptious Breakfast - 5/5, deliciously made homestyle potatoes they were piping HOT. The bacon and cheese cooked in and over medium egg were delicious!! I loved the tomato salsa that came with the food. Eggs Benedict waffles - 5/5, WOW the hollandaise sauce is on the thinner side and has a nice tang to it which makes it less heavy and easier to eat! Perfectly poached eggs and PLENTY of waffle real estate Cup of chili - 5/5, love that they top with red onion and cheese. Sweet, savory homemade chili, what's not to like!
Best waffles in town, been going here since we moved to Encino many years ago. However I haven't been back in a few years as my kids got older and prefer to sleep in than go out for breakfast. However the past holiday weekend my youngest woke up early so I told him we will go to the waffle place. Got there before 9am so we were seated right away. We sat inside and we both ordered an omelette with the waffles as the side. Service was fast but the only thing is that the eggs are overcooked. On the photo you can see the edges were brown on my order (Californian). The servings are huge so we only ate half of the omelettes we ordered and finished off the waffles. I had the Californian and my son had Denver. The Californian is a folded omelette while Denver flat. I prefer my son's omelette than mine. Next time I'll just have the waffles! Oh and they put jam and salsa that's really good to put on anything - even the waffles.
Visited More Than Waffles Saturday before Mother's Day for brunch. Was originally excited to try their food as their menu is extensive and had many options available from classic breakfast plates, Mexican twists and of course, waffles! While two kind waiters originally came to our group to just offer coffee and water, a hostess randomly came up to our group and rudely said "well, your group has been here for 40 minutes now and still haven't ordered and we need the tables". First and foremost, our group had not been there for 40 minutes yet, and if we had been, that would have showed how delayed their service was. Secondly, the hostess came off very rude and aggressive, she could have asked if we were just ready to order. Finally, we had been waiting for someone to take our order the entire time! We kindly advised we had been waiting to order. She ruined the vibes for the entire group, and we did not feel welcome for the rest of the experience. The waiters were extremely kind, just not whoever the hostess was on 5/9/26. Waffles came out first, would have made more sense to have them after the main meal. Eggs Benedict were very traditional, seasoned well but nothing to rave for. They definitely have a different take on chilaquiles, not what I was expecting but decently seasoned. Food is around 6.5-7/10. Well seasoned, flavorful but not unique. Not coming back to this location to due the experience unfortunately.
A very busy Saturday before Mother's Day. I love the WaitList they use through Yelp. I have been here before and waited over an hour to be seated. I was with my daughter and 2 granddaughters, celebrating Mother's Day. The patio area is very pretty, with the water fountain and umbrellas. The inside was like a cozy home decor. Very comfortable seating, It was very loud. I ordered the french toast waffle with fresh strawberries, kiwi and berries. I declined the whip cream and nuts and didn't use the melted butter and syrup that came with it. My waffle was delicious, with mounds of fruit, although mine was delivered about 10 minutes after everyone else, and it wasn't a french toast waffle. My daughter had the traditional eggs benedict with potatoes, which she enjoyed. My pregnant granddaughter had eggs benedict, but removed one of the english muffins and added avocado. She was very happy. My youngest granddaughter also had the eggs benedict, but with fruit. We all left full. The service was very good, in spite of the busy day.
Totally worth the hype. We had some guests from out of town and we took them here recently. They offer an incredible variety of waffles and breakfast items here. My bf couldn't believe you could get ice cream on your waffles haha. I really enjoyed the bbq omelette. I'd never think to put bbq sauce on an omelette but here I am, savoring every last bite. I wanted to split it into two meals but I couldn't stop eating it. I'd come again in a heartbeat, although I'd try and come during the week as opposed to the weekend because the wait is probably unbearable during most weekends. Ample parking because it's a strip mall. Also if you sit outside, they have plenty of heaters so won't shiver while you eat.
Wow what a hidden gem!! You don't even know about this spot since it's in the back of the shopping center. This place was crazy busy and packed as expected for a great spot and weekend brunch. We put our names down and waited maybe 15-20 minutes. Beautiful view of the fountain and they have nice seating outside. We got to sit inside where the AC was blasting lol. Food also came out really quick after we ordered! He got some potatoes with egg and I got the chilaquiles with added avocado and tortilla chips on the side so they don't get soggy. Huge portion so there were definitely some leftovers! Super delicious and love how quick the service was. Wish it had the green verde sauce but the salsa was nice and not spicy. Food is great! 5 stars for food...everything else definitely could use some improvement. Make sure you do the yelp waitlist. Check in with the front when you arrive and be on top of your waitlist. We waited more than an hour, then got a text saying we were taken off. Front of house said we were supposed to check in with them (but never got a text)...party in front had same issue...didn't apologize or anything...waited probably 10 more min then we were sat for party of 3. 3 of us ordered: mushroom omelette $20.95 upgrade to blueberry waffle $7.50 side potatoes $5.95 cali omelette with waffle $21.95 OJ $5.25 Waffle is truly light and crispy, best I've had! Solid omelet. For the most part, staff is friendly, could be a bit more attentive. Older building. Layout of the place could definitely be more optimized...but why change anything when they're so busy haha. Overall, food here is great! Just be mindful of everything up to getting food on the table. Will be back!! Curious to see how the waffle holds up for takeout.
It's been years since I've been here but the spot is still the same and the food is so great ! We got there around 9 so there was no wait but when we left there were so many people waiting in a Sunday. Got a burrito which was delicious. Their portions are kind of big so it's definitely good to share. Can't wait to come back. It's such a cute place it's gives off a bed and breakfast kind of vibe.
Service and food were all really good and the ambiance was very quaint and fitting! My friends and I ordered The Big G, Ronnie's breakfast bowl, the Sante Fe Benedict, and we also got a lemon lover Belgian waffle to share. Something that stood out right away were that the portions were enormous, especially the Santa Fe Benedict. All the good was delicious and my personal favorite was the waffle, which is rare. Shoutout to our server for being super attentive and hooking us up on the house strawberry jam and salsa!
Met my buddy here. We both came from 20-30 minutes away. Parking lot is tight and spaces are scarce. Great outdoor environment. 15 minute wait at 10:30am Saturday. Patio table by the fountain. Most the tables are for 4, so ample room. Wonderful server. Had this oddly-looking, wonderfully delicious ham and eggs crepe with their handmade side sauces (sweet jelly and chili salsa. Fantastic!!! Five stars! BUT...I'm not sure if I would have liked eating inside as much much as I did eating on the patio.
This place is a bit tucked away--downstairs behind a large mall off Ventura Boulevard--but free parking helps, and clearly word has gotten out. When I arrived around 10:30 on a Monday morning, it was already packed, especially with families and large groups. The operation runs like a well-oiled machine. Service is attentive and efficient without feeling rushed: coffee cups are constantly refilled, water glasses never empty. The interior is warm and homey, cozy in a way that makes you want to linger. Portions are generous--almost too generous--and after watching waffle after waffle glide past my table, I regretted my choice. I went with the ham and cheese crêpe, which wasn't quite what I'd hoped for. The crêpe itself was a bit soggy and overwhelmed by melted cheddar. That said, the flavors were good, and the breakfast potatoes were excellent. Lesson learned: waffles next time.

As my cousins smiled at me they told me just wait and soon I'd see why this place was the best. When a place is new to me I always get the basics for starters. A basic and plain Belgian waffle When the waffle arrived I smiled ear to ear It was light and fluffy and each square sat waiting to be filled with syrup. Add on the fact that they offer you warmed maple syrup at no extra or added cost. Take a minute to just look at my picture of the waffle with maple syrup. we had a great experience dining here for breakfast on the patio with our pup! service was very kind, and informed us everything on the menu is customizable, which is a plus! the highlights were the potatoes, we got them crispy and they were complemented perfectly by the house salsa! we were also fans of the nutella belgian waffle with strawberries and bananas, the waffle is done well and you can never go wrong with nutella. the savory crepe wasn't quite as impressive as we hoped, it needed the salsa to bring out more flavor, so we may stick to the waffles or try a different savory option. read more

Wow is how I'd describe their Belgian Waffle! My husband and I came for a quick brunch and we were pleasantly surprised at this nice find! It has a lovely outdoor courtyard area seating with a nearby fountain. And we had the Ghirardelli Belgian Waffle to share. My goodness this is the first time I had a waffle was so light, fluffy, and with the perfect amount of sweetness and portion that we had to abandon our Mediterranean Omelette. Took the day off to rest and have breakfast with my wife. We haven't been at More Than Waffles for several years. Always enjoyed going. The staff is always friendly despite being busy all the time. It's a family owned and operated business with many of their employees being there for many years. The place is located in lower level of Encino Commons plaza. There plenty of parking in a private lot as well as covered underground parking, and metered street parking. The place is laid back and has a local neighborhood comfortable feel. We ordered Chorizo scramble and Belgium Waffle combo that comes with 2 eggs (cooked over easy), and 2 sausage patties. Also a cup of beef chili. For drinks we had fresh OJ and latte. read more

I don't eat out often, and it had been a while since I'd eaten at More Than Waffles. I remembered it being outstanding, so I invited my Mom and Sister to breakfast. I had a lot I wanted to say to them, so I wanted them to just enjoy their meal and listen as I spoke. I enjoy breakfast sandwiches, and I ordered the only one they had on their menu. It was turkey bacon and egg white on 9 grain whole wheat bread. I substituted for whole egg--no problem. I had forgotten they serve vanilla flavored coffee here, but they have regular too--no problem. Outside seating, in the shade--no problem. Had 3 different people check on us for anything to drink--above and beyond. I found our server Kristal to be exceptional. They way she answered our questions, her tone, her interest in offering excellent service. I noted this to my Sister, and she said "well I think that's her job." This was my younger Sister that has never served tables, so I knew that I knew better. The next time I saw Kristal, I asked her if she could tell us how long had she has been a server. The question caught her a bit off guard, but she graciously and happily replied 11 years. I looked at my Sister and said, "See?" She looks like she's in high school--a super sweet young lady--but I could also sense absolute and thorough professionalism in her answers to my inquiries. Thoughtful and thorough. I don't know what Kristal is paid but she's worth every cent and is worthy of whatever raise MTW can afford, because she helps make their business look like one of the best in town. I was talking so much to my fam, I didn't get to savor my sandwich or my house potatoes. I just ate because I was supposed to eat. I only ate half and took the rest to go. It's nighttime now, and I just sat down to eat my leftovers. I didn't put them in the fridge because I didn't want to have to re-heat. I enjoyed them at room temp. So good. So damn good. This is the problem with eating out, I might love it and then I can't stop craving. And the potatoes? Goodness gracious. MOUTH WATERING. Ketchup works, but definitely not necessary. So so good! I came here for breakfast with my dad on his recommendation and we both loved this place! I cannot start my review with anything else before noting how excellent and nice the customer service is here!! Our waiter was so polite and attentive! This feels and is decorated like an old school mom and pop breakfast restaurant and it just warmed my heart. Veggie Omelette w/ waffles 4.5/5, this was so big and filling! I liked the veggie omelette that was jam packed with freshly cooked veggies but it had a bit too much cheese for my preference. The waffles are to die for omg they are light and fluffy and the waitress brought over some fresh strawberry jam that paired so beautiful with the waffles. Great food and great service. Slightly overwhelming menu (so many choices). Tasty OJ, fabulous waffles...even if you go old school Belgian with strawberry preserves. I know that the name is More Than Waffles, which bodes well for people who don't like waffles... but I do, and I really wanted to try one from here. The restaurant is in a sort of unexpected place, in my estimation. I definitely didn't realize that the mall here spans back a ways. The big open courtyard is where MTW is, which offers plenty of outdoor seating as well and indoor. I got the strawberry waffle and... wow. I just loved it. I feel like I've had Belgian waffles in the past that were pretty good, but this one was just crispy and fluffy and delicious in ways that can't be beat. Plus the sliced strawberries and the strawberry topping that comes on the side were fresh and delicious. I've told my friends already, so now I'm telling Yelp: you've gotta try this place. read more

More Than Waffles is an unique breakfast establishment located on the ground floor of the Encino Town Center mall. If you take the back side entrance and head down the parking garage to level 1, park there and walk toward the courtyard and you'll undoubtedly come upon a lot of people waiting for breakfast/brunch, especially on the weekends. Definitely get your name on the waiting list as soon as possible or the wait can get long. The ambiance is kind of a combination of an underground garden meets your grandmother's dining room. There's not a lot of natural light if you wind up sitting inside, but you're not here for the ambiance. You're here for the food. More specifically you're here for their waffles. It's decadent and delicious with all kinds of toppings which will definitely spike your blood sugar. However, if you're not into sweets you're still taken care of as they have an extensive classical brunch menu of eggs cooked to order and traditional breakfast items. Was it the best waffle I've ever tasted? Probably not, but then again it's all subjective. What I can say is you will definitely leave here full...most likely taking a doggie bag home with you. If that's what you're looking for then hands down More Than Waffles will meet your needs and even exceed them. read more

One word comes to mind when I think of More Than Waffles, CONSISTENT. When I tell people to go here, I never worry about IF they will like it because they always do! The staff is always friendly, the food always comes out quickly, hot, and fresh! The outdoor seating provides a nice vibe with the water fountain. Oh my what a lively treat. You can easily miss this place because there are no signs. It's downstairs in the Encino Town Centre. We ordered the Waffler, half a Love Waffle for dessert, and two caramel cappuccinos. The food came pretty quickly and the service was excellent. Jesus who brought us our coffee was very friendly and recommended both dishes. We had two very charming servers Josie and Jessica. There's ample seating inside and outside. We sat outside so we can enjoy the fountain. Definitely share because portions are pretty large. read more

There's nothing better than a great breakfast. We went to More Than Waffles around 9:30, and to our surprise, there wasn't much of a wait for a Saturday morning. We were seated promptly. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, but we chose indoors since it was a bit chilly. They did have heaters outside for those who wanted to dine outdoors. Our waitress, Katerina, was exceptional--very attentive and kind. The food came out quickly too! I had the Lox Benedict and Nutella Waffles. I'm always up for a good Benedict, and this one didn't disappoint. The flavors were well-balanced, and the waffles were perfectly fluffy--not dense like at other places. The service here goes above and beyond. I read on yelp that this place allow dogs, so I brought my husky here. Biggest note is that they are SO dog friendly. They offered her water when first introduced. They made her feel like a special customer. As for me, I ordered Santa Fe Benedict and my bf ordered peach waffles. Both were absolutely delicious. I also ordered a side of chicken breast for my dog and the waitress brought it out immediately so she can eat first. Loved everything about this restaurant, will be coming again with my pup. Yes my son is vegan and he has been able to have entrees for him.
We're looking for a place to invite about 20 to 25 people for a brunch. I remember this place from at least 20+ yrs ago and would just love to have our 30th anniversary here. Is there space for this without having to split up guests in sets of four?
Yes just ask for their back room it holds about 50-60 people, I had my son's Birthday there. Happy Anniversary, may you celebrate your 60th there as well. ??❤️
