Went here with a friend for lunch and ordered the unagi rice bowl. The bowl was delicious, the unagi and eel sauce paired with stir fried cabbage, carrots, and purple rice was great. My only complaint with the dish is that it was kind of oily but nonetheless it's definitely a healthier alternative. The store is super cute but very very small, almost claustrophobic to sit inside. I wouldn't recommend staying and eating here or studying just bc of the cramped feeling but it's a good spot for grab and go. The prices were standard for the drinks but the bowls were a bit pricey but comparable to poke bowl prices. read more

Mori's is a newer health conscious and fast casual spot serving up some delicious meals. This spot is located in a more commercial area nearby some apartment complexes. To get here, there is a specific parking structure for retail businesses where you can park for free. Inside, they have a warm and cozy ambiance with about 3-4 tables for seating and 2 additional tables for seating outside. For their menu, they have different rice and salad bowls along with handcrafted tea, matcha, and coffee drinks. Wifey and I pulled up for lunch and got the Eel Energy Grain Bowl, Braised Beef Energy Grain Bowl, and the Mung Bean Smoothie and Taro Uji Matcha Fresh Milk for our drinks. Everything we had tasted fresh, healthy, and delicious! Overall, this spot is a great blend of Asian flavors with healthy adaptations. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. I have been here once before, and it was great. I had no complaints. The drinks were good and the food was decent. But I just came right now, and it was absolutely not only disgusting, but the worker was literally laughing in my face when I was asking her questions and I was so disrespected. She wasn't even able to answer simple question as to what sweetener they use or what options they have she's just saying what percent sweet do you want and she was so rude. Cute little hidden gem tucked in between high rise apartment buildings off Jamboree. 1st 2 hours of parking are free and we were able to find a spot right away without having to park in a structure. Cafe was clean. Limited seating so counter ordering is your best option to order and go. Love that they use lactose-free milk. Very few places do, because my daughter has an intolerance to lactose. We ordered the Double Matcha with Cheese Foam and Taroberry Matcha. You can choose the level of sweetness of your drink, but they only serve one size. There were bits of taro and strawberry that you need to mix in to drink it correctly. I will go here before I go to a tea shop in a crazy strip shopping center any day of the week. read more

Overall it is tucked away in a shopping center inside an apartment complex but there is plenty of parking. The place itself is on the smaller side but there is seating outside. Interior is very cute! When it came to the menu they have a good variety of items including food items. Service was fairly quick! When it came to the Matcha the color and cream were good however the matcha taste wasn't as strong as the color seems to be unfortunately. I got the recommended sweetness which was half to be able to enjoy the matcha flavor but maybe the matcha was just too light for my liking. Finally tried Mori's! Super conveniently located for college students at UCI! Their matcha is truly so so good, high quality not too sweet but flavorful. The drinks are beautiful with good pairing flavors. I tried the cloud matcha, which I was hoping for more cookie butter flavor but it was still great matcha. Then I tried the taro matcha, very authentic tasting and nothing was overpowering. Parking is limited, and service can be a bit slow and not the most helpful. I barely leave reviews, usually only when a place is really good or really bad. This place was really bad. Our first interaction happened 20 minutes before closing, which I understand is almost closing time, but when we walked in there were two employees who did not acknowledge our existence. When they finally did acknowledge us, they put out a sign pointing to a self-service kiosk, making it clear they didn't want to help us with our order. The body language said it all, they were too close to closing and didn't want to be bothered. One of them said she would help us in a second, then disappeared, so we just decided to leave. But we really wanted to try the banana matcha drink because it looked really good, so we took some time and finally decided to give it another try. I really wish we never went back. They have a sign on the door saying they have fresh baked croissants. When you see the words "fresh baked croissants" you think those croissants were made fresh that day, or hell, maybe even the day before. But apparently the new meaning of fresh baked croissants is a heated up Costco croissant. I love croissants and I could tell immediately, the second I bit into it all I could think was that a box of 20 of these is only $6.99 at Costco. But here it's $3.95 and allegedly baked fresh. But it doesn't stop there. We got the banana matcha we had been craving, and honestly it wasn't that good. The boba tasted terrible, and the foam on top didn't taste like banana at all. The only thing that actually tasted like banana was the crushed dry banana pieces. The matcha had a pretty earthy flavor, which is nice if you just like matcha, but for $10 it was extremely underwhelming. I tried their Uji Matcha Latte, which was actually very delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness. My friends and I recommend going with the Uji Matcha as your "base" and adding whatever syrups/toppings from the other drinks that you're interested in. We were surprised to find that the crème brûlée matcha was a blended ice drink rather than a traditional latte. the drinks weren't sweet enough for our taste so feel free to adjust to your liking! I really liked the taro berry matcha, especially because the taro was actual mashed taro and not a powder flavoring. The matcha was sufficiently strong and the overall drink was the perfect sweetness. The crème brûlée latte was okay. You couldn't really taste the crème brûlée and since there was no dairy substitution for that one, it wasn't my friend's favorite. The description said they use marukyu koyaemen matcha, which is very high quality. The color of the matcha was the dull green that you see from cheap matcha, and it tasted like melted ice cream rather than a rich, deep flavor. It's nice that their milk is lactose free. But the matcha is low quality. Was going to come back for their coffee but I'm not sure I want to try it anymore. The store itself is nice. There's tables outside and some seating inside. They brought our drinks out to the table we were sitting at which was nice. There's many 5 star ratings mainly due to the free drink offer in exchange.
