Complete disappointment. We came in expecting a high-end, mid-century steakhouse experience, but what we got was a major letdown from start to finish. The service was terrible--our waiter was inattentive, and management seemed completely disengaged. What made things worse was a loud, rowdy group of clearly intoxicated guests who disrupted the entire dining room. Despite how disruptive they were, staff and management did nothing to address the situation, making it nearly impossible to enjoy the evening. The food itself didn't make up for any of it. Quality was underwhelming and far below what you'd expect at this price point. Most concerning of all, we reached out to the management team twice after our visit and were completely ignored. That lack of response speaks volumes. It suggests deeper issues with leadership--this place won't improve until there's accountability at the top. There are plenty of better options in the area. My steak frites where awesome. Cooked perfectly too. Sauce was spicy Chipotle. I would order again. My caviar chips were decent, not how I would destroy caviar again. My cousin ordered the prime rib. It was a tough end cut, over cooked and chewy. We had to complain. Fortunately, our waiter removed it from the bill and disposed of this awful chunk of meat. He brought us a baked Alaska instead. I had such a great experience at Mr. Lyons in Palm Springs! First off, the vibe when you walk in is moody, stylish, and instantly sets the tone for a great night. I happened to be out there for my birthday with no dinner plans my partner and I were driving by when we spotted the restaurant and decided to finally go (we've said on past trips we'd make time to try it). Even without a reservation, they were able to seat us after a short 15-20 minute wait, during which we got to relax in their super cool attached speakeasy bar. It had the same cozy, moody vibe and was a great way to start the evening. Once we were seated, our waiter Sergio was amazing funny, sweet, and super attentive. I didn't love the drink I ordered from the bar, and without hesitation, Sergio took care of it and brought me something else I ended up loving. The food? Incredible. From the lobster ravioli to the steak, mac & cheese, and oysters I could go on. Everything was delicious and perfectly done. I will never come to Palm Springs and not come here for dinner. Russell the bartender is amazing! If I were to describe the vibe it would be LA swanky restaurant meets Vegas Mob steakhouse...it's everything you didn't know you needed. Grab a seat at the bar (hopefully Russell is there) if you get there between 5p-7p it's happy hour and you can get the most delicious manhattan or a nice pour of William Hill Cab for $7. There are some great food items on the HH menu also you can easily find menus online. Our go to meal is shareable we start with the shrimp cocktail and wedge salad followed by the beef Wellington (best I've ever had) and finish with dessert, we usually go with whatever Russell recommends :) If you are in Palm Springs Mr. Lyons is worth the short drive passing the main avenue. read more

It was my first time having a beef Wellington and it was probably one the most delicious items I have ever had. They apparently made it perfectly. Most recently we had dinner at the bar, which is much more lively and I personally liked the ambiance more. The hostess was very nice, and had two seats ready to go. The service at the bar and from the bartender was impeccable. The menu has been modified, in my opinion for the better. Lots of new, fun, and interesting options with approachable prices for a steak house. We had the 4-layer caviar dip (amazing), Caesar salad (perfect), the 7oz prime rib medallion (great), and steak frites (on the money) with a side of cauliflower and leek gratin (GET THIS). Went here for a date night with the wife started off with an old fashioned that was literally un drinkable. They offered to replace it I declined if they can't do it right the 1st time why bother. We loved Mr Lyons. It is fairly dark inside, so creates a warm, inviting environment. There's low key, low volume electronic music playing, which makes it feel more modern, but with that old school steakhouse vibe. Food was delicious. Good portions. The prime rib was excellent! We also loved the fresh baked dinner rolls. The lounge is nice and you can eat in there also. We didn't visit this time, but there's also another bar with a speakeasy vibe in a hidden corner...it is called Seymour's. Fun place if you prefer a true mixologist making your cocktails. read more

The bone-in ribeye (medium rare plus) here is probably one of my top ten best steaks I've had. And the sides are fantastic, particular the mushrooms but also the fries, corn, and snap peas. Started out the night with a couple of cocktails. the 1930 witch was a riff on an Old fashioned with Coachella dates. It was very very good. and an espresso martini also good. Food wise the potato chips said was excellent with the Parker house rolls.Also the Hamachi crudo was ok, but for the price I would of liked a little more fish, and Mr Lyons hand rolls were good Entrees the steak frites were great and the prime rib with potato mousseline, (Mashed potatoes) also very good. We were really looking forward to our anniversary dinner while vacationing in Palm Springs. The restaurant seemed perfect at first: a beautifully decorated space, a semi-private booth thoughtfully selected for our special occasion, and welcoming staff who greeted us warmly and wished us a happy anniversary. Our server was excellent, and both the food and drinks were on point. However, the experience quickly turned uncomfortable, literally. The temperature in the restaurant was stifling. The air flow was minimal, and the velvety booth seats trapped heat. To make it worse, the long tablecloths acted like heavy blankets, trapping even more warmth around us. It became unbearably hot, even for me; someone who is usually always cold and enjoys heat. We eventually asked to be moved, which the staff accommodated, but it was disappointing to be so physically uncomfortable during what was supposed to be a relaxing and celebratory evening. I understand it was over 108°F outside and the building is older, but for a fine dining establishment, basic climate control should not be an issue. Ironically, the women's restroom was *freezing* (a brief but welcome relief), while my partner said the men's room felt like a sauna. The final blow was overhearing a staff member mocking us to a manager for asking to move. That kind of behavior is unprofessional and, frankly, classless. It left a sour taste after what had otherwise been a promising start. It's was a shame food and service from our waiter were all top-tier. But when a restaurant misses the basics of guest comfort and shows a lack of respect behind the scenes, it undermines the entire experience. You have plenty of fine dining options in Palm Springs - I advise going elsewhere. read more

Our server Sergio was nowhere to be found for 30 minutes when we sat down, no menus, etc. We were somehow the last table in the room even though we were not the last reservation. Our server was preoccupied with a table of girls instead of us the entire time. The sommelier was clearly drunk and never came back to our table when we had a request for wine. Incredibly awkward. Everyone around us was seated and served promptly and left before us. I would give this review directly to the restaurant, but no one answers after multiple calls. Excellent service for a birthday party of 5 until the server left and handed off our table to another server after a bottle of champagne, cocktails, 2 bottles of wine and main courses. A busser loaded all the plates into a single pile at the table, forks falling, sauces dripping. Then, another busser brought a melting scoop of ice cream with whipped topping with one spoon (did I mention we were a party of 5?). The check was brought minutes later while wine still in the bottle to be poured. We also never saw the sommelier again after the handoff. I spoke to the manager privately and nothing was done, not even a visit to the table to acknowledge a complete breakdown in service. My sympathies to the first server who was excellent. The waiters struck the perfect tenor, walking the line between friendly and professional. A friend who was dining with me and who worked in restaurants for many years commented on it. So kudos to the manager. In terms of the food: we started with the wedge (excellent and super refreshing) then shared a ribeye (really really good) and a few sides (the sides faltered a bit for me - two potato dishes, the corn, and a more than decent roasted brussels sprouts.) We have started a yearly tradition to visit Mr. Lyons for our anniversary since F10 catered our wedding and we had our after party at Seymours. Our last visit was as perfect as the first few visits. We started with the bone marrow, buttery, deep bones, beyond tasty and the shrimp cocktail was very fresh. My husband had his favorite beef Wellington which was made to perfection as usual. I had the A5 Wagyu Striploin cooked medium rare, and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had - cooked to PERFECTION! We also shared the Carolina gold fried rice which is our favorite side dish, coupled with some martini's it was a perfect evening. We realized our waitress was the same person from the year prior, who remembered us and asked about our wedding.
