I cannot understand where any negative reviews are stemming from. We have started a yearly tradition to visit Mr. Lyons for our anniversary since F10 catered our wedding and we had our after party at Seymours. Our last visit was as perfect as the first few visits. We started with the bone marrow, buttery, deep bones, beyond tasty and the shrimp cocktail was very fresh. My husband had his favorite beef Wellington which was made to perfection as usual. I had the A5 Wagyu Striploin cooked medium rare, and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had - cooked to PERFECTION! We also shared the Carolina gold fried rice which is our favorite side dish, coupled with some martini's it was a perfect evening. We realized our waitress was the same person from the year prior, who remembered us and asked about our wedding. Also, a special thank you to Brittany and Claire from F10 who made our wedding epic and always get us our favorite booth when we visit. Can't wait for next year! read more

88° inside at the bar. I am a frequent customer of all the F10 restaurants and absolutely love the bar at Mr. Lyons and have been frequenting the establishment for over 10 years. They have the most fantastic bartenders, Russell & Allan who have been there for years and really know how to make a craft cocktail and being personable with patrons. While dining at the bar I saw the manager check the thermostat which was 88° in the bar at 6:15 PM which is unacceptable in summer for a high end bar/restaurant. I really hope they fix the issue with the AC in the bar with there being so many choices in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley. read more

My husband and I came for a date night last week and had a great experience. We had a reservation for 5pm - early, yes! We were greeted warmly and all the staff seemed very professional and friendly. We tried the French onion soup- piping hot and definitely large enough to share - very filling and delicious Caesar salad- kind of disappointed it wasn't traditional, but was still really good Both of our steaks were salty and delicious. I would not recommend the peppercorn side sauce. The snap peas were our favorite side, while the Brussels sprouts were just as good, and the fried rice just okay. Loves the ambiance and decor. It was a very rough start and we even debated just cutting our loses and leaving. We arrived with 4 adults and 2 kids. (Keep in mind the kids didn't make hardly a peep the entire meal) As soon as they saw the kids, everything changed. We arrived 5 minutes early and Although the place was 90% empty we were told they wouldn't seat us until the exact time of our dinner reservation. To the exact reservation minute, we were then taken into the bar area where 6 of us were crammed into a 4 top table and handed a happy hour menu it was clearer then crystal kids were not welcome. We requested a dining room table (completely empty) which took another 10 minutes for some reason. We had an event to get to so this made us rush through dinner. When we were finally seated it took another 5 minutes to be given a menu. Again the place is empty. The service was politely tolerable but with a snooty air. I will say the menu and food are divine. The 4 layer caviar dip with homemade chips is delicious insanity. My husband said his steak is top 5 he's ever had. The potato chip salad was one of the best I've had. The veggie Wellington was average. The mint homemade ice cream very good. I wanted to really love this place as I've been waiting a year to come here on vacation. My husband and I came here with my daughter and her family for Thanksgiving Dinner. We've always wanted to be able to go out to diner and not labor over cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Well this was the biggest disappointment. The Turkey dish was so dried out. When you tried to cut through it, it practically caused the plate to fall off the table. The sweet potato was hard as a rock on top of that the food was cold. I asked for ranch dressing instead of blue cheese and was told NO. My granddaughters are 4 and 8 we asked if we could order 1 meal instead of 2 so they good split it...the answer was NO. Over 800..00 later we left with a never to return to Mr Lyons again. We use to love coming to this place. The one good thing I have to say was the service from our waiter was very good. He was very kind but couldn't not accommodate us as he tried he was told NO! The ambiance was nice but it can't replace the horrible dinner nor the price of 115.00 per adult x 4 and 65.00 per child x2. Lesson learned stay home and cook! read more

Second time back here! All around it's a lively Palm Springs style steakhouse. Fancy enough but also Palm Springs casual which is a great vibe. They have a nice bar as well as a speakeasy bar, a formal dining room and casual dining room. Little things about the place are inconsistent which becomes noticeable when you return to a place. All the service staff is friendly and helpful, sometimes the pace of the service is a little weird, like either too slow or too fast. I love the caviar dip' this time it was a smaller portion. I tried the hand rolls and I enjoyed them for a change. Parker house rolls are perfect for the table. The bone in rib eye is a good steak and a good cut, however we got it me out rare and it was a bit dry, not juicy, I'm not sure why. They even surprised us with an anniversary treat! read more

Avoid this place--it's not worth the money or frustration. We dined here on a Wednesday evening and were seated in the front left section. Our experience started off decently: the server's assistant was attentive and made sure our server, Carlos, came over to take our drink order promptly. However, things quickly went downhill from there. Carlos seemed disinterested and wasn't helpful at all when my father asked for a wine recommendation. I ordered a Bordeaux blend listed at $15, only to find it charged as $25 on the bill--likely because Carlos swapped the wine without clarifying. Despite the price mix-up, the wine was sadly the highlight of my meal. The food itself was a disaster. I ordered the Caesar salad, which came unchopped, with whole romaine leaves dumped on a plate, topped with clumpy, dry cheese and a stale crouton. It was as if the crouton had been left out in the sun for days. My father's French onion soup was bland and lacked any depth of flavor. Then came the true low point: my entree, the lobster ravioli. Do not order this. The dish was composed of five tiny, inch-wide pasta squares stuffed with rubbery, unpleasant lobster. They were topped with a lackluster red sauce and barely any cold pistachio sauce, making for an unappetizing presentation. I honestly think imitation crab would've been better. My father's prime rib was decent, but for a 16 oz portion, the sauce was minimal. We ordered sides of mushrooms, which were overcooked and dry, and mashed potatoes. I initially tried ordering different potatoes, but Carlos seemed unsure of what was actually on the menu. We always save room for dessert, so we ordered the tarte and warm cake. But both were disappointments. The "warm" cake was cold, as if it had just come from the freezer, and we left it after one bite each. The tart was overcooked, with just a small spoonful of sour cream ice cream. While the caramel was good, it wasn't enough to salvage the dessert. At the end of the night, Carlos made an awkward attempt to insist that he was the highlight of our dining experience. He'd barely checked in on us, seemed overwhelmed with his tables, and often avoided eye contact. As we left, the table next to us was also voicing similar complaints about Carlos, their missing sides, and cold dessert. All in all, this was a poorly managed and overpriced experience. I regret the 20% tip I left but hope Carlos is either new to the service industry or will find a more fitting role. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for quality dining--save your money and your time. read more

The menu was on the smaller size but it has all the typical items. I chose prime rib. Not my favorite cut but variety is good. It was a 16oz end piece as I prefer meat more medium. I added corn, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. They were a generous portion for 2. I am not sure I would order anything different. It was a very good meal. Well occasionally dessert calls and the carrot cake with caramel was beyond delicious. That and a good cup of coffee just completed the experience. Price was very reasonable for the quality and delicious food. I did take half of it home. Service was excellent. I think it was Lilibeth, She was attentive, and her recommendations were excellent. Mr. Lyons still delivers! My family and I came out for the Christmas holiday and I wanted to make sure we had an exceptional meal on Christmas Eve. I cringed when I saw the spate of blistering recent reviews and was convinced things must have gone way downhill since my visit last year. I'm pleased to report, however, that things seem just as good as ever. We had a patio table by the roaring fireplace, abetted by heat lamps. From the minute we were seated, the service was outstanding, lead by our server, Guillermo. He was calm, good-humored, constructively opinionated about the menu, and a swift problem solver. Based on the consistency of the service with all the staff, it's apparent there's a strong hospitality training program here. OUR ORDER: - Parker rolls with taragon butter // Warm, fluffy, paired with easily spreadable herb butter, what else do you want? - Bone-in ribeye (requested medium rare-plus) // Shared between me and my brother, this was easily the BEST restaurant steak I've had in a year. Superb texture and beefy flavor, seasoned on point, and cooked to a perfect medium rare (in retrospect, maybe a warning; I'm glad I ordered "m.r. plus"). - Braised lamb shank // My mother pointed out this came out a little on the dry side, and Guillermo quickly offered some au jus to remedy the situation. Sides were all excellent: - Coachella valley corn - sweet and tangy - Steakhouse mushrooms - a robust variety of trumpet, oyster, and other mushrooms - Sugarsnap peas - blistered, vibrant, and fresh Dessert: - Creme brulee // pleasingly eggy and assertively dense - 1979 carrot cake // An original Mr. Lyons glory-days recipe and the only thing we didn't love, and Guillermo offered to remove it from our check if we didn't like it, and, well, we didn't so he did; while the cream cheese frosting was lovely, the cake itself was solid dry and crumbly. Arrived in time for happy hour at the bar. I have to say...I enjoy a dark lounge with a chill vibe. We were planning on a couple of stops, so kept it light. A few cocktails and snacks before moving on. Drinks were great...we'd happily come back. The snacks were solid...crispy and giant onion rings (though a touch oily), a petite (but giant) wedge salad, and a brilliant dish of sugar snap peas with hazelnuts and a herb-butter sauce. I wanted to try the steak tartare, but they couldn't exclude the truffle oil from it so I declined. I find truffle oil way too cloying. Service was excellent. Parking on a Friday night is tight, but use street parking and it'll be okay. read more

The veggie Wellington was served to me with under-cooked slices of vegetables, I might say, nearly raw! And the sauce, yuck. This could have been really good. It was awful. Then the crudite had the weirdest tasting cheese spread. Don't know what was in it, but it was super funky. Nothing listed on the menu would have given a clue. Others at the table liked their meals, but for me, this was a bad first impression. But at least I don't have to wonderful about when I will get to Mr Lyons. I can cross it off my list. Service was pretty good so I gave it an extra star for that. The restaurant itself is old school retro which is really cool and the speak easy looks like a fun place to hang out. Not sure if there's been a change in chefs, but the food felt a bit underwhelming compared to our past visits. My husband's steak was overcooked, the onion rings tasted like unflavored batter, my fish lacked flavor, and I wish the menu had mentioned it came with couscous. The roasted Brussels sprouts were also a bit too charred, and the hamachi crudo was warm, lacked flavor, and hard to eat with the rice cracker. It's expensive but if you value great service delicious food this might be the place for you. Make sure to get reservations for parties of 3 or more. Victoria was our server and she was attentive and great for recommendations. It was my birthday dinner and our first time so we attempted to try as much as we could. I'm so glad they packaged our left overs at the end of the night. The highlight was meeting one of the assistants (I believe) her name is Janelle; she was a delightful soul. So happy to be working at this restaurant. I'm certain she will become a great server soon enough she said her brother had been working there for a while and finally got hired some month ago. Make sure you keep her on staff as she's got upper management written all over her future. We've been all over Italy north to south and We never had Italian wine that didn't have a cork in it. Staff was amazing and attentive. The server was so sweet as was the host. I hate to leave negative comments. While visiting PS over the weekend, we drove by and decided to go for a fancy dinner. I wish we kept going. We each ordered the burger on the rare side and I was very disappointed. The meat was dry and hardly pink. It was covered in a weird melty cheese sauce and topped with leaks and grilled onions. I scraped it all off and asked for some mustard which barely helped. The fries were also dry. With that I ordered a side of rolls. The butter was off. I'm not sure what it was whipped with but it was not palatable. We will not return. read more

The hostess gave us a quick tour of their space, which includes a dining room with green velvet booths along the edges and tables in the middle, their private dining room which is also used for overflow, a lively bar and lounge used for those without reservations, and a small hidden speakeasy cocktail bar with an outdoor space that has a bocce ball court, loungers, and a firepit. First, I would like to say that up until this past Saturday dinner at Mr. Lyons, I would only consider a five star rating as every aspect of what entails 5 starts is above and beyond. This past visit, however, have us wondering if something is amiss - conjecturing that it is a change of chef, the economy, difficulty in finding qualified servers and wait staff??? I booked a table on the patio and we were seated immediately (great hostess experience) but the cushion where I was sitting was filthy. We have sat outside before and it does not take much to wipe down cushions even in an outside seating area. I ordered a signature cocktail that the waiter recommended which was good and even better than the one I wanted to order originally so kudos to our server for that. The couple next to us ordered the rosemary/bourbon concoction and the face they made after one sip told us that this drink should be removed from the menu. It was that awful. We noticed that the dinner offerings were not as we had expected from the other times we had eaten there so opted for steak frites (always a winner) and the seafood dish and butter lettuce salad. The salad was not worthy of the price assigned to it and when the steak frites arrived we were presented with a think slab of meat surrounded by fat. Pomme frites were not up to the standard we had experienced before when ordering this dish. Usually, the steak is of better quality and comes without gobs of fat and is sliced into shareable portions and presented as a gourmet plate of food should be. We did not order desert and as we left, just shook our heads that our "go to" birthday place had really gone downhill, sorry to say. We had indicated it was my birthday but there was no offering that usually accompanies that knowledge. We love Mr. Lyons and hope that you will return to the high quality food standards from before. You wait staff was extremely polite and helpful but even their appearance made me feel I was in a greasy fast food establishment in addition to the filthy cushions. read more

Honestly- I really wanted to love this place! The restaurant is classy and beautiful, almost felt underdressed! Service was quick, attentive and 5 stars. Although, the gentleman did forget to box our onion rings when we had asked him to do so at the end, wamp wamp. We ordered: Mr. Lyons burger- large and pretty decent 12oz prime rib- just too chewy for me Mac n cheese- stuck to the roof of our mouth which was a bummer since Mac n cheese is my favorite!
