Mr. Shrimp is the kind of seafood spot locals love -- laid-back, welcoming, and consistently delicious. It strikes that perfect balance: not overly fancy or pretentious, but definitely nice enough for a solid sit-down dinner. Right from the start, we were impressed by the complimentary crab dip -- warm, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. A real standout appetizer was the conch fritters -- generously stuffed with tender conch and a mochi-like texture that was surprisingly addictive. For the main, I ordered the 1 1/4 lb steamed lobster dinner, which was not only reasonably priced but arrived piping hot and perfectly cooked. You can tell everything is made fresh, and it shows in the quality and presentation. The lobster bisque is also worth calling out -- rich without being heavy, and actually packed with real chunks of lobster, not just cream and filler. Service was friendly, attentive, and never overbearing. All around, this is a place I'd absolutely return to -- not just for the food, but for the warm, easygoing vibe. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Was a nice experience. The place is bright and chicish. Menu is varied and has plenty of options. We had raw clams , chowders, salad with shrimp, and a lobster salad wrap. Service was great. It's BYOB and plenty of folks were doing that. Well come check it again for other selections.

Always great memories at Mr Shrimp in their comfortable booths.

I like Mr. Shrimp a lot. I like the decor, the painted giant fish on the walls, the freshness of the food, the nice service, the ample parking, the fair prices, and the cleanliness of the food, the presentation, the selection, and the specials. I wish I would have the chance to get there more often. I remember the old place, and they did a fabulous job moving into the new one next door, - they really took it to the next level. We are very blessed here in this area to have so many great options about where to have a nice sit down meal, for lunch or dinner, and this establishment is certainly a gift in that regards. Mr Shrimp is nice for a sit down with a friend, or a visit with kids, - it is impressive, affordable and exciting under all different circumstances.

We have been dining here for many years (in previous location next door too). We usually eat here about once a month between May and November (Winters in Florida). Great food at reasonable prices and large portions. Great service every time. Casual, cool ambiance. Not pretentious like some more expensive places, especially those located on water. A place locals know and love. Where we can bring our favorite wine and have delicious meals. Last evening, we dined here early. Dayana was our attentive and friendly server. We both decided to order seafood specials. The only problem was deciding which ones, the write up on each sounded delicious. Anyway, we had Monkfish Milanese, $32.99 and Halibut Componata $35.99. Both dinners very fresh fish, expertly prepared. We told Dayana to give our compliments to Chef Garcia. My previous review 8 years ago was 4 stars. Back then, I foolishly thought that a restaurant should be fancy, tablecloths, etc. to get 5 stars. Now, I realize that attitude is ridiculous and Mr. Shrimp definitely rates 5 stars.

Cool place. Cool vibe. We went midday on a weekday so it was kind of dead. They had some cool lunch options. My coworker and I both got the fish and chips. They were pretty good. Not OMG I need to eat these everyday good. But they were solid. Service was good too.

Came here for lunch on a Monday. They weren't busy at all and were able to sit immediately. The service was a little slow and the menu wasn't as robust as I was hoping. We got a few items to try/munch on-- shrimp cocktail, oysters and the fried crab sandwich (not much flavor/bland). Ambiance is open & welcoming... food and service, ok.

Felt like I was eating in an insane asylum, food was mediocre at best. Order lobster bisk, crab cake platter, and burton steak bites. Would not recommend any of it. Atmosphere was weird, everything was white barely any color. Waiter was nice but food took forever. Leaving with full plates and no boxes to go.

Good food, good service, even in the off season. I come here as often as I can with a friend of mine who lives in the area. It's become something of a tradition. The crab dip to start with is phenomenal, and it is also a fish market in the back. If buying and cooking fish isn't your thing, then the BYOB restaurant might be more of your thing. I love that the shore has places like this. We started off with the buffalo shrimp, the seafood risotto special, and the fried calamari. When a place also serves the tentacles is a good sign. Entrees were the surf and turf and the Alaskan King Crab dinner. I also recommend the clam pot dinner. Mangia! Buy some extra crab dip in the back on your way out. If you come during the summer season expect a wait, but it is worth it.

It is not a scene that stirs the soul or quiets the mind, but it is fine for staring at when there is nothing else to do. I came for lunch on a weekend, early enough to avoid the mob that usually descends later in the day. Getting a table was easy. Finding a parking space was not. It is always the same story there, a little game of musical bumper cars. When I made it inside, I found the tables to be sticky in the way that suggests they had been wiped down but not really cleaned. The servers moved with the slow grace of people who had already given up on the afternoon. They were not rude, just absent in spirit. I ordered the fried oysters because it seemed like something they ought to do well. They were fine, in the way that lukewarm applause is fine. Not offensive, not memorable. The breading was heavy, the flavor lost somewhere between the fryer and the plate. For the price, one expects a little magic, or at least a spark of care. Neither arrived. Klein's feels like a place living off its own legend, a faded postcard from better days. People go because they have always gone. The fish is there, the view is there, but the heart of it seems to have gone missing. It is not terrible, but it is not worth the time or the money either. Three stars, mostly for nostalgia.

We were seated in the covered front deck area which was separated from the interior restaurant. It was an 80-85° day but the temperature in the space was relatively comfortable. We had grabbed a few bottles of white from the conveniently located liquor store across the street. I love me a good BYOB establishment. We started with the tuna pizza, an order of oysters, garlic shrimp, beet salad, and the Bibb salad. (Just a side note, they want you to place your starters and entrees at the same time). Everything came out in a reasonable time and was all very good. The Tuna pizza was not at all what I was envisioning but was a pleasant surprise both presentation and taste wise. The shrimp were interesting because they looked like they would be super flavorful, but just felt kind of flat. Both of the salads were delicious, I really enjoyed the Bibb and would highly recommend it. I had the Bluefin and it was really good, the portion size was fair and the fish was extremely fresh. It was far from the best bluefin I've had, but would recommend it nonetheless. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees as well and overall I would say we had a great time. It was a bit pricey, but it's Spring Lake so that was baked into the cake. Will visit again, and this time I'll remember to order the lobster roll.

They use olive oil over seed oils for example, and ingredients that actually make you feel good after you eat. We started off with the raw bar--fresh clams that tasted like the ocean in the best way. Then we had to try the famous tuna pizza, and wow! I get the hype now. It was the perfect combo of crunchy, creamy, and salty and I'll be dreaming about it for days to come! The garlic shrimp was delicious and had a savory juice, something you'd find in a Spanish tapas restaurant which was perfect for bread dipping. The spaghetti with clams was a classic but elevated dish and came with a generous portion. We tried the ahi tuna lo mein from their specials and that was a fun addition. It doesn't taste greasy so don't expect takeout quality. Their sushi was seriously impressive and some of the best I've had in NJ. We got the kamikaze roll, ninja roll, and chef's nigiri. Totally fresh and easy to eat. Even the mocktails were next level. We tried the Heat Wave and Chicha Sour. Both so unique and had us feeling refreshed after, not sluggish. Of course we ended with dessert. The banana bread pudding made in-house was a huge treat. So delectable and moist. The lemon sorbet was a great way to cleanse our palate and was very refreshing. This place is where high-quality meets creative! Even the ambiance reflects their sustainable beliefs. They have a beautiful coastal inspired design in a minimalist way, using lots of natural textures in the designs. The service was fantastic and attentive. I will be recommending this to all my family and friends!
