Late post. We came in on 5/21/21 for after dinner drinks. We reserved a table for 12 and I think it was the best table in the house! We had beer and one of their signature cocktails, "The Newps" which was a lovely mix of Gin, elderflower liqueur, cucumber and lemon. They were so refreshing and went down too easy. Service was exceptional. We will definitely be back. read more

This place is a great place for brunch for those that have dogs. They have bottomless mimosa for $19. I got their friend chicken sandwhich which came with awesome sweet potato fries with their homemade ranch sauce. That was quite delicious. They were out of calamari and so we got the spinach artichoke dip instead. The dip was pretty good and the chips was crunchy. Our waitress was really friendly and provided great service. Overall, this was a place for large gathering with decent food. It's also located in a plaza with plenty of parking. read more

I had an amazing experience at mutts eastbluff this past weekend. The food was absolutely deliciousevery dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Absolutely love the vegetarian options!! Really good service, nice ambiance, and an ambitious menu highlights a pretty nice restaurant in a Eastbluff strip mall next to Ralphs. We can only report on the pizza, and fish and chips, they were both delicious, and well portioned. The prices are 2024 reasonable, which is to say double 2021 reasonable, but what the heck. The service is kind and efficient, and it has a warm, inviting interior with a large bar dominating the entrance. So, yeah, I'd come back. read more

Overall I had high hopes for this place. It's so cute when you walk in and the vibe was casual and fun. Now let's get to it... The hostess was quick to seat us without a reservation for a party of 8 on a weekend but then again it was fairly empty anyway. +1 star for that. As mentioned the vibe is cute and fun to hang out and grab drinks and like all the TVs in the outdoor seating. +1 star for that. The food, gawd dang it why did you have to disappoint?! Clam Chowder....WTH?! I was looking forward to a nice bowl of chowder but what I got was creamed vegetable soup (corn, carrots, potatoes and onions) and no clams to be seen and a crap load of rosemary that made the soup tart and tangy. Gross!! Salad...can't recall what it was called but it had salami and olives in it. The dressing was a lemon vinaigrette that was soaked and made my salad soggy. Pizza...got the Joe Dirt pizza and it is drenched in grease. I know pizza is oily and can be greasy but this was overkill. The pizza is suppose to have pepperoni and sausage and ours had 2, literally 2 pieces of sausage on a large pizza. We couldn't find our waitress to save our life and like I mentioned it was not a busy weekend as there were tons of empty tables yet we were waiting long periods of time to find someone to tend to us and our table for 8 was crammed into a small round table rather than one of the 6 rectangular tables that sat empty while we ate elbow to elbow. Will definitely NOT be coming back to this place. The stars on yelp for this restaurant is highly deceiving. Hard Pass! Management needs to either hire more people or retrain the staff. read more

First time here with a few friends! Had a small issue with a drink and our server (Kylie) addressed our concerns in a timely fashion and switched it out with something that was more to our satisfaction. Exceptional service from Kylie and the staff all night long. Would highly recommend to come around sunset time. 10/10 read more

We had a great experience once again:) Brianna was a wonderful Waitress- very attentive...sugg wonderful drinks n meals. Steaks were cooked med rare and enjoyed by our family. I had miso Salmon w carrots - twas cooked nicely and risotto was nice. Perhaps lighter on cream/fromage. Dessert was wonderful . This place has the best outdoor patio decor. I would love to come here at night, but instead my party of four came for bottomless mimosas & brunch. Keep in mind that the bottomless only come w/ orange juice even though they have watermelon, guava, and pineapple mimosas. So what we did was order a side of pineapple juice and a side of watermelon and guava juice as well. I had Longhollow breakfast (egg whites w/ avocado) it was great. I also ordered those cinnamon biscuits rolled in brown sugar & cinnamon w/ syrup for dipping. Those were delish. Well my party was having so much fun singing Buddy Holly that the manager sent over 4 watermelon shooters w/ Tajin rims. Bottoms up for that boomerang shot because we downed those suckers quick. Super glad this place opened! The Corona Del Mar side of the bay really needed a new go to bar. The ambiance is fantastic, they really did a great job setting this spot up between the decor, outdoor patio, and tv monitors throughout the restaurant. The food is good, menu has a little bit of everything. Also the drinks are great (and strong!) which is an added plus. I will say it's not cheap especially for what it is...I wouldn't expect to go in with a mindset of "bar" prices which is why I gave 4/5 stars. Otherwise this place is great! read more

I've ordered from here before and their chicken wings & pizza have been great, but for once I wanted to order something else from the menu, so I got their pasta with alfredo sauce and chicken. OMG- it was the WORST I've even had in my ENTIRE LIFE...and I've had some pretty bad ones. I can't even call it food. The pasta had almost no alfredo sauce (maybe they were out?). It was just pasta with grated parmesan cheese, which had melted and gotten hard on the pasta with a disgusting grease at the bottom. The pasta was hardened as well. I don't know if they had an order from 2 nights before that didn't get picked up and they gave it to me or if their chef was cooking pasta for the first time, but this thing was not edible. The grilled chicken was also a thin piece of rubbery chicken (super cheap quality) the type of chicken that you find in some cafes that mainly serve drinks but happen to have chicken on their menu and when you try, you are reminded once again to not buy chicken from a place that is not cooking fresh chicken. But Mutt's is a full on restaurant...why they don't use restaurant quality chicken?....I have no idea. I literally ended up trying to eat it, but could not. I had to throw it away and just had bread and feta cheese for dinner. Total waste of money. I will order from Mutt's again, but just stick to the wings and pizza. They're not really a good quality restaurant. Atmosphere is so nice, it's a shame some of their food is so bad. read more

I really love this place, the interior and exterior is so fun and cute. Unfortunately last night my fiancé and I had a bad experience. We picked up wings (normally our favorite) and his wings had 0 sauce. I ordered the bbq which were great, and he ordered the medium Buffalo but unfortunately there was no sauce. Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and the salmon risotto was so yummy!!! Perfectly cooked and amazing flavor in the sauce. We also got the fun buns for dessert and it was a great choice. I've done many times and always a 5 until tonight. Tuesday nights are trivia games. The host is amazing and tells the rules many times. 3 tables on patio- 1 of all the moms and 1 of all the dads and 1 of ALL the kids. We're talking 15 kids between the ages of 6-9. Running screaming. All over the place. The dads are purposely shouting out the answers no matter how many times the host says not to. Why does the staff let this happen? read more

Even so, we had to flag down our waiter for another round of drinks, water, etc. The Shorebird absolutely has stunning views, and that's what they're known for. Their food is also solid, justifies the high price point. This visit was just not their best. Overall service and ambiance, fell extremely flat. I set the bar high for my guests, as they traveled in from out of town and I raved about my experience from a few months back. Granted, I was sat at the patio, overlooking the beautiful view, and the service was impeccable. With all the stellar dining options in Newport, unless you find yourself at a table on the balcony, I don't think Shorebird is the obvious choice. You'll end up spending the money regardless so you may as well look for a spot that is guaranteed to meet the expectations of the price point without having to be dependent on a view.

The atmosphere and location are great, but none of that matters if diners with dietary restrictions can't eat safely. I hope the restaurant takes food allergies and gluten sensitivities more seriously in the future.

Everybody from the staff and the customers who welcomed me,as a first time patron, during what I did not know was trivia night; moreover, turned out to be a great group of people. The food was excellent the service spot on. The feel and look of the room was welcoming, and extremely comfortable; especially if one wanted to watch the sports they were interested in. They did have all the games going for that evening, but they also had tennis which for me I have two favorites, soccer and tennis- so if anyone can find soccer through the channels that you have already programmed, I promise you'll have a lot more of the adult league in their watching soccer. The neighborhood is filled with coaches and teams because of Bison Park. You might do yourself a favor- if you do start programming soccer and put a little quarter sheet paper on people's windshield letting them know that your restaurant is not a dog grooming service. Please let them know the sports that you have going, because so many of us are looking to see our favorite teams playing and not always at home because it always seems to be a better tournament when there's others involved watching the game. Without a doubt between Friday night games and the adult league at Bison Park, there are so many families that could easily order food to go if they knew that you were literally across the street in the Eastbluff shopping center. Maybe it's odd advertising, however, because you allow dogs there is so many of us that use Eastbluff shopping center almost every day, but we've also watched dogs walking into the restaurant, which is great and hats off to you because there should be no reason not to be able to bring I would expect a well-behaved dog . And there's where the confusion started for some of us thinking it was a dog grooming. Definitely let the Bison Park soccer leagues with either a small discreet note on their car and maybe a free drink or dessert for the first time. Watch how busy it gets soccer players and their families that don't get off that field on Friday night until 9 o'clock and everything is closed near here to get something to eat except you're open until midnight. If people know they can order food to go, and still be on their way home after hours in what will be colder weather on that field. I guarantee you you will have a whole new group of patrons as well as those who will come back and watch soccer on your incredible TV screens. We don't have to drive to a sports bar, a British bar in Santa Ana. The ambience that you set up makes it so easy to be that neighborhood spot to go watch a game. Where do you go to watch the big matches and there are Muldoons or British bars there's a few places in and around Newport Beach Santa Ana. But you are sitting in soccer Central with Bison Park across the way. I'm telling you most people don't know what Mutts exactly is. I watch families go in there every weekend for lunch and brunch. I'm just lucky one who found the restaurant during trivia night when the doors were open and the laughter was infectious. Of course I had to walk in and I keep walking in thanks to the staff, patrons, and hats off to the chef and anybody else on the line cooking. Went here for fourth of July this past weekend and the guy managing the line was extremely RUDE & RACIST. He was a white skinny male - maybe look at who you're hiring to manage the line. We got in line and we are already halfway through. Bunch of people behind us. Im just talking to my friends and BF waiting to get in when this guy comes up and tells my bf that he "left the line, came back & is now not allowed in" mind u, me & my group were there the ENTIRE time. & funny we were the only asians in line at the time & my bf is half hispanic. AND whats even more funny? The girl group behind us all spoke up and told that racist male that we've been here this whole time. We dont even know them and they stood up for us. We left the line to not cause problems but i went back to say my piece bc i wasn't gonna let my bf get disrespected like that & that racist white man had nothin to say because he knows he's in the wrong lmao. Funny they had an incident last year on the fourth too where they were being racist & calling people beaners. Maybe double check who you're hiring to manage the line. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a stylish yet cozy vibe that made us feel right at home. One of my favorite old spots at the pier is now open in Eastbluff shopping center. I've gone there a few times now to watch basketball, hockey & baseball games. The staff is incredible. Especially the server that I got the first time & then requested each time I've been there. His name is Scott Tucker & he always has the drinks right, knows that I can't eat onions in any of my food & checks in at absolute right times. It's an interesting block with Olive Oil and Beyond where you can taste the most amazing olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Almost a little Italy with Balsilic across the street and Ciao across the street. It's a real challenge to operate a restaurant when it's not packed every night. What do you do about spoilage - how many times to you throw out the meat, and seafood, and vegetables you don't use and how long can you keep them and not affect the taste? My read on the food is that it was not fresh...we have veal piccata and it was well-prepared but didn't taste very fresh, and prawns with pasta on the side...the garlic bread was soft (a choice) but not crispy but soft and somewhat mushy. The prawns were no fresh and had a strange texture. The service was excellent...we don't know his name but he was very kind and helpful. He knew how to service tables and was very skillful. We never saw the chef. We love the ambiance ... a very quiet and old world kind of place...tables and chairs...just an excellent venue with excellent service. it felt very comfortable and dampened noise from the street quite well. Now how to solve the problem? This place needs to be full every night. They need to be purchasing new product every morning. It's almost worth anything to fill the restaurant...off specials and coupons, make it almost impossible not to come. The more people come the more word of mouth. This place can't survive on hope. The chef needs to purchase the absolute best food product and then use it everyday. Otherwise the experience will not be sufficient to bring us back. Things need to change. We spent $112 with tip for a dinner for two. A glass of wine was $16 and a plate of garlic bread was $9. The check says the name is "Trattoria Mediterranean Cuisine".

Homemade pastries &quiches, pies galore ! Nicely prepared clam chowder, hot dogs & breakfast plates…read more-so tasty and the staff accommodates little tweaks ! Like pls hold the yolks for whites or add a little cheese, please ! Love that ! The food beats Wilma's by leaps & bounds . Super cute decor , no waiters - the best for breakfast on the island! Btw, Kevin is awesome !!

The portions were so generous that one meal easily fed two people, which was a pleasant surprise after working up an appetite all day. The staff was kind, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Parking was actually a breeze for us in the neighborhood nearby and we walked right down to the place where there were tables and the line wasn't long. Should've gone with the lobster roll but I opted for my usual clam chowder which came out smaller than I thought. When the order came out we also saw they didn't include the seasoned fries I ordered, which is fine because it wasn't on the receipt either. I told my man we don't need to order anymore because we had plenty. Just make sure when ordering you have them read it back not to miss anything. The clam chowder was good, could've had more clam but came out piping hot, which I know is an issue sometimes at places like this. My son got the tuna melt and couldn't finish his potato chips. Wish they had coke on the menu instead of Pepsi, that's my only qualm but other than that next time I'd definitely order the lobster roll.

The peanut butter cake was extremely sweet The triple Berry cheesecake is where it was at!!!!!! So delicious. They serve all sorts of coffees and drinks and a full menu of food as well. Tes was the one that served us and totally cool person! Very friendly and patient (and when I say patient, I think we took up a half hour of her time asking questions and trying to pick- no one else was behind us......)

Grace and Gabi were warm and welcoming, and Grace in particular made me feel right at home both times. I also had the chance to meet the owner, Victoria, and hear a bit about her vision for the space, which made me appreciate it even more. The ambiance is lovely, with an English garden feel that makes you want to linger. The latte was excellent, and the baked goods were just as good. Also, my son loved the breakfast burrito and the tuna melt really was great. Definitely a new go-to for me!
