3.5 stars for this cute little eatery at the steps of the LAG hospital means our team can easily run across the street while on call. MX 30 30 prices are pricey but accessible for tacos, burritos, and the works-- they have both a breakfast and lunch menu and their various egg types are delicious. Their complementary chip appetizers keep you crunching as you wait for the food to arrive freshly cooked and plated. Definitely a hole in the wall vibe but doing well likely due to its proximity to the hospital. Service here is always wholesome and they have restrooms outside. Grateful to my neurosurgery chiefs for feeding us hungry young'uns.

Another good meal at MX 30 30. I ordered the Plato Mexicano (Asada, Carnitas, Chicken 1 Taco Dorado, 1, Rice and Beans). The dish was excellent. All three proteins were nicely seasoned, and the flavors were on point. I'm currently on a crunchy taco kick, so I also had an Asada Crunchy Taco. It was very tasty, as are the Carne Asada Soft Tacos. I've been here a few times now and I've never left disappointed. The service is very friendly and minus the difficult parking situation, you can't go wrong eating at MX 30 30. I will be back.

Saw this place being hyped on tik tok and had to check it out! First off loved loved LOVED the inside of this restaurant. Although it's small, it has a vast amount of Mexican culture incorporated into the interior design. I loved the appreciated and recognition for Mexican figures. The service was great! We were attended to very quickly and enjoyed our meals. This was such a good comfort meal that I would love to have more often. If you're in the area and want to catch up with someone this is a perfect spot. The serving sizes are pretty big in my opinion! We had to take ours to go afterwards.

This is my 3rd time coming here. The first 2 times I had an Asada burrito. Just meat, cheese, tomatoes and rice. They were delicious. Today I decided to try some tacos. I said to myself, that if the food was right Today. I would post. They did NOT disappoint I had a chicken, cheese and tomato taco. Also, 1 asada, cheese and tomato taco. They were the bomb. I think the chicken was tastier. Although I have NOT sat down and enjoyed my meals. Don't get me wrong, the place is always clean and the service is excellent. I work nearby and I am always pressed for time. The waitress I believe is Mirela. At least that's what is says on the receipt. She gives excellent customer service. She makes you feel welcome.

Been wanting to try this spot. We ordered the Camorones de ajo and potato flautas. Delicious. Shrimp cooked perfectly and with the best garlic/lemon flavor. The salsas were excellent . The green sauce was divine and the salsa negro was so good. It was delivered but next time we will sit inside to enjoy that cozy atmosphere.

First timer today. 1. Got a wet birria burrito (no rice no beans - trying to stay low carb) - it was the best burrito I've had in a long time. 2. The birria was tender and melted in my mouth - the sauces - the salsa - just everything was a symphony and worked so well together. 3. The waitress on Sunday 5/25 at 11am ish was the nicest, sweetest, most accommodating person. She was a delight and made the experience that much better. Can't wait to go back and enjoy myself all over again.

First time here. Parking can be tricky, it is on a very busy street, convenient if you're at the hospital. Very friendly service, seating inside and out. Clean restaurant. Large menu, with lots of options. Portions were a little small, but the flavor was amazing. Highly recommend and will return.

Was at USC hospital and found this place on Yelp. It was the closest restaurant around without having to drive. The restaurant was very clean and had nice decor. Service staff was very friendly and quick. I ordered the hard shell tacos with shredded beef. I liked how crispy the taco shell was and the seasoning on the shredded beef. The rice and beans were nicely seasoned as well. Not salty whatsoever and the beans had a nice consistency. I was looking for more of a hole in the wall type Mexican restaurant but this did the job. For a nice sit down restaurant, the pricing wasn't too bad at all. I do wish their salsa was spicer but overall not bad.

So this gem has been here for a long time, I've driven by it many times and had not realize it. It's directly across from La General hospital, very simple spot and very authentic. The burrito was all I had, and might I say, for a big eater like I am, it filled me up! The burrito was not only big, it was flavorful. The sauce they provided were delicious! Must have when wanting Mexican burrito in the area. The service was outstanding, they were fast, prompt and polite, as customer service should be! The place was not too big however it will fit a good amount of people, inside looks like you're in a native town of their own and makes you feel like you're in Mexico somewhere. Music was nice, subtle and not too loud . I will be coming back for more !!

I returned for lunch and this time I had chile relleno plate. Chile Relleno I was so impressed. The beans and rice were both really well seasoned and tasty, this time. Last time the rice was a little bland. During this visit they made it with enough spices and salt; they were very satisfying. The chile was smothered and stuffed with melty cheese. The outside was broiled a little bit. Yum! The salsa used was good. It is a strong flavor and rich. The egg batter held up well and wasn't too greasy. The chips and salsa before hand were fresh and delicious. I had an agua de melon what was house made. I'm so glad it was house made and I could taste the freshness, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Too much added sugar for me, although I know some people love love love sugar. Loved my lunch. I want to try the menudo next.

This was the most average food I've gotten. Wasn't exceptional but it also wasn't disgusting. Service was also so mediocre we maybe got approached once for a water refill and the staff wasn't that approachable. The food was pretty bland if I'm going to be honest. read more

Food was subpar. Rice tasted a day old for breakfast and customer service was terrible. Had to seat ourselves. Waitress took 10 minutes to come out to acknowledge us and ask for our beverage order. Items on the menu were not available in the morning at the start of business. read more

Always good ambiance, fast service (except when really busy but very tolerable wait times) and excellent customer relations! Food is superb even the tortillas are bomb with the salsa verde!!! My go to orders are their burritos and enchiladas!!! Caldos are good too!!! read more

I ordered the Flautas and my friend ordered the Rancheros. Both of our dishes were extremely flavorful with the right amount of spice & not to much salt. Small hole in the wall but has pretty good food. It is fresh and tasty.... especially the green creamy salsa. Spicy yet flavorful. Went on a Sunday late morning. They were busy but we were seated right away. The service was a little slow but we figure they were full and maybe short staffed. Nothing that was terrible. I had the #17 Mexicano plato. Your choice of 3 meats, taco dorado, flauta, rice, and beans. I chose birria, el pastor, and carne asada. All had good flavor and not dry. Overall the food was good. Service not great. Sat for a while after being pointed to a table. Waiter was very pleasant though. Guacamole that comes with the tortilla chips is really good As with most place in the USA the coffee is execrable (tastes like shit) since it is so weak. Cutlery nice and solid and the food served on hot plates. Multiple kudos for both of these Had the chile relleno. Very good. Tortillas disappointing since they seem to be store bought Overall very good and worth a return visit read more

First time eating here and the food was fantastic! Came in with my service dog without any issues. Food came out in a timely fashion considering the time of day. Ordered the chilaquilles with chicken. Portion was plentiful. I was concerned about my car being ticketed for parking in front of the meter and the waitress offered to go out and put a couple quarters in the meter for me. That was above and beyond great customer service that was very much appreciated! I would highly recommend this place if you're visiting the area or maybe USC hospital. This place is located directly across from the USC medical center on Merango. The inside of the restaurant is small and tables as well street parking are limited so come early. read more

Best authentic Mexican food, service was awesome I like the hospitality here, well family owned restaurant we tried in Los Angeles, since we were out here for the weekends and stay next door, perfect spot to dine in the food were very good well plated and I like how we went on perfect day for a birthday meal, drinks is good as well. So normally I come here and it's pretty good. Service is good. Food is good overall it's pretty good but today I made a phone for some Chilaquiles with a grill chicken and a quesadilla. The lady on the phone told me 20 minutes and it ended up being 40 minutes which made me late to work it does not take 40 minutes to make a chicken on a flat pan. There needs to be better organization of the kitchen was disappointing to me and normally I would give five stars because like I said I've eaten here before and it's amazing today, it was not up to standard hopefully next time I go, it's much better. read more

Okay first of all the vibe of this place is amazing, you can tell it's very familial. I've seen so many regulars come in & greet each other sweetly. The waitress was really nice as well! I loved looking at all of the historic photos of Mexicanos on the wall. There's nothing I love more than a restaurant that embraces their rich culture with history flowing through the environment. The food was amazing. This was thee best wet burrito I've had in my entire life & I've had PLENTY. The presentation was perfect. The taste was so good. Love me some shredded chicken in a burrito, the rice was good as well. I love green sauces more than red so I'm a lil biased but the chipotle flavor was great for those red sauce lovers. Saw this cute Mex restaurant on my way back to my work yard, ordered a Carne Asada burrito and a chicharrón taco- chicharrón was amazing carne asada burrito was okay perhaps more rice than meat, although the rice was probably the best rice I've had in a long time just next time equal amount of filling. So the food is good but the customer service OMG was amazing-the two young ladies we're simply amazing. Great attitude, great personal . Yes, I would definitely go back again and try something else. The café de olla was great and so were the chips and salsa that they give as an appetizer while you wait for the food to come out. The decor was really interesting to look at. It's a small restaurant with about six tables inside and some tables outside. I got the pancakes but I didn't really like them they were soggy and would fall apart. The scrambled eggs had a fishy smell to it. I went around 10 am for breakfast and there weren't many people, the waitress was attentive and the food took about 40 min to come out. read more

Sat down for the first time today right when they opened. Heartily greeted by Jessica who was friendly, efficient and accommodating. I've ordered takeout here before and have never been disappointed. Their chile rellenos and enchiladas are deliciously filled with melted cheese and the sauces are simple and flavorful (I prefer the verde). Rice and beans are on point. Tacos soft and fried are full of meat and are very tasty. Melon agua fresca was fresh and I probably could've drank a gallon! Side salsas were perfect compliments and delicious. Looking forward to eating in more often and trying everything on their menu! read more

The green sauce!!! That's honestly all you really need to know...And if you've eaten here, you already know what I'm talking about. The food here has been really good every time I've eaten inside or ordered take out. It's walking distance from USC+LAC so you can order ahead via phone and walk over to pick up. Portions are big. Food is prepared fresh. Staff is really nice and friendly. read more

I come for the enchiladas and they are quite possibly the best I've ever had! They come half green, half chipotle and man when I say that they are delicious! Im sure there's a specific name but that's how I always order them. Actually one of the guys working there recommended them to me the first time I came and that's how I've been ordering them every since. Note I get half chicken, half shredded beef! read more

First time visiting since we were invited to visit by the owner's son. Food is very good and ambience is very relaxing. Unfortunately customer service is not good . Not sure what the girls name is because she didn't introduce herself but she's got the reddish brown hair. The one with the black hair kinda just walked around fixing her hair and then she disappeared. It started out ok but as my husband asked for a coffee besides the water he needed to take his medication her attitude changed. She never came back to ask if anything else was needed kinda felt like we were being ignored. My husband wanted to ask for coffee creamer and didn't feel comfortable after her attitude changed . No customer should feel like they can't ask for anything because of the servers attitude after all they represent the establishment. I would come back for the food but not for the service. read more

Every dish at this restaurant is delicious. My favorite dish is the enchilada suizas. Their guacamole sauce is flavorful with just the right amount of spiciness. But be careful when the server brings the guacamole sauce and chips because you can easily overindulge and not have enough room for your meal. read more

What a little gem in East LA! The restaurant is tucked away in the corner of a nearby freeway exit and neighboring the LAC+USC hospital. Parking can be a hassle but definitely possible. There are mostly free street parking or paid meter parking. It's a relatively small restaurant but I love the feel of a mom and pop shop! I came with six other friends and the owner was very accommodating and kind as we waited for everyone to trickle in at different time. She gave us FREE chips and three different salsas as we tried to decide on what to order. Everything looked amazing so that was a difficult task! I went for the chicken Enchiladas with both green and red sauce. I was not disappointed! Both flavors were great but I preferred the red one just a tad more because it had the spicy kick to it. The horchata was also fresh and delicious! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal so I definitely think it was a successful dinner choice for us! Also, my partner and I forgot our sunglasses inside the restaurant and almost left without them but luckily one of the workers brought it out for us! Thanks for your honest business! Went in for a Birria plate, and was VERY unsatisfied. There was maybe 3 to 4 pieces of meat and so much caldo. Skimped out on the meat. The glass coke bottles were flat..and a big piece of fat The al pastor tacos were good though. read more

This restaurant has the best authentic Mexican food!! I got their red chilaquiles and IT WAS DELICIOUS. The beans and rice were tasty as well. I highly recommend this place and am excited to try the rest of the food on their menu! The owners are super friendly, especially the beautiful woman who helped me with my order. I have driven by this restaurant for the last several years while heading into the office and never noticed it standing there among all the traffic jams and the mad rush of hospital employees heading to start their 15 hour shifts at general hospital. The roomie and I decided that we wanted to step off the unbeaten path (yet again) and try something that was tasty, cheap and Mexican. I am talking about food for all you dirty minded yelpers out there. I know how you all can get out there :O). We searched for Mexican restaurants in East LA and found this interesting find called Mexicanos 30-30. Didn't quite understood the name, but it does stick out among all the other Mexican restaurants with typical Mexican names: Albertos, Alberts, Robertos, Tacos this...tacos that! My roomie and I are always suckers for good service, home style Mexican mom cuisine and a laid back atmosphere. This place delivered on all three!! They make you feel like family and just like when you visit your tia Maria and your primos who are helping her host you and the familia. The place is small and a little tight, but it makes it feel that much more homier (is that even a word?.. oh well.. you get it). There is never a wait and the gentleman that is there is always very welcoming and is always willing to bring out a sample of something you are debating on ordering or eating..just like Costco..but he comes to you..hehe. The menu provides a nice array of comida just enough to make it difficult to choose what you want. We have started making it a habit of visiting this establishment when we have had a bit too much to drink the night before. Just what the doctor ordered. Their salsas hit the spot (green one is my favorito) and they have handmade tortillas. Any place that makes tortillas from scratch gets mad respect and props from me!! We started off with the naan & dips. The dips were tahini tofu and carrot hummus. I liked the tahini tofu dip much more than the carrot hummus. It was creamy, nutty, and savory. The naan was fresh and nicely charred. Next we had the goat liver mousse. This included crumpets, biscuit crackers, craisin relish, seasonal jam, and of course, goat liver mousse. The crackers were too dry for me, but I really enjoyed the warm crumpets. All of the spreads were equally good. The goat live mousse itself was smooth and light. For the main courses, we shared the grilled kalbi-style short ribs and pork belly noodles. The short ribs were covered in a sweet-savory sauce and had a deep caramelization, while the meat was tender and juicy. As for the pork belly noodles, the overall flavor was too salty, but the glass noodles had a nice texture. Throughout our entire meal, there was a fly that kept trying to fly onto our food. It was very annoying to deal with. I was surprised that it was even an issue, considering we had indoor seating. I would have understood if only we were seated outside. Ultimately, I did not leave with a great impression of this restaurant. On top of that, there isn't any designated parking lot, so you'll be lucky if you can even find street parking. If not, you'll need to use one of the paid lots nearby. Also, beware that this restaurant adds a surcharge to all checks regardless of party size.

I've been here a few times recently. The first couple times everything was pretty great, the last time things were a bit iffy. The guacamole the first couple times was fresh and chunky and flavorful, the last time it came warm and flavorless. The green tea shake I had was as thin as milk the last time whereas the first few times it was thick like a shake. They also mixed up two of our orders but the food was still good. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that they are training new staff possibly or maybe it's better to come at night which is when we came the first few times. As Jorge stated though they may just have a worse cook and staff during their lunch rush, everything was actually a little less flavorful, it is a bit hit or miss. read more

My mom's favorite Mexican restaurant, she comes all the way from the Mid-west and can't wait to eat here! The salsas are a-maz-ing, I could eat the green one with a spoon but usually just eat a lot of chips and salsa before the food comes, but then I'll eat that too... Everything we've tried there has been great, so I don't think you can go wrong. read more

This place is amazing. 4.5 because it does not have it's own parking. Otherwise service is great, food is delicious. It's a small mom n pops and u will enjoy. We had half portion chicken and half cheese enchiladas in half red n green sauce. 2nd place Divorciados. read more

I love this place. I go often with coworkers from the hospital across the st. The food is full of flavor and very fresh ingredients. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Every time I go there, I feel like I'm at a family's house. read more
