We interviewed several moving companies before hiring My American Movers for my parents' move from Santa Clarita to Murrieta. This was a delicate move for two 80-year olds with 60 years of stuff including antiques, china, appliances and a piano. The estimated price was significantly lower than other movers, a little higher than others - but it was the assurance, flexibility and kindness of Gili that won me over. I live nearly two hours away from my parents' home. Gili was AMAZING in helping me stay calm as I was worried about the packing of everything. She assured me that My American Movers could handle the entire job - from packing to moving to unpacking and setting up. My brother came out from Virginia to pack everything - and I was so impressed that Gili did not flinch when we made this change. We had several issues with the escrow company, thus not able to give a firm move date or even if we were able to move the home items to the new house or have it stored. Again, Gili assured me that they would be available for whatever we needed - including storage at an unbelievable price, and then bring the items to the new home whenever we were ready - with everything literally happening on the fly, it was such a relief that I had someone supporting me. The day of the move, we still did not know where that truck was going - storage or the new house. The guys came on time, clean and professional. They wrapped every item with bubble wrap/shrink wrap. They were so careful with everything. It was so wonderful watching my 80-year old 'foreman' dad just sit and watch comfortably, able to trust these guys completely. They packed that truck to the INCH! It was unbelievable. Literally - we knew we were able to send them to the house within moments of the truck door shutting! The guys arrived at the new house after 3.5 house of HORRENDOUS traffic - they were just as pleasant and professional as they were when they arrived in the morning. They unloaded the truck quickly unwrapped and placed the items wherever we wanted them. When it came to payment - the lead reviewed everything with me and all figures were correct. I was able to break my payment into some cash/some credit - which was so nice. We were most impressed when we gave him the tip and he immediately turned to his crew and told them how much each of them were receiving. So many times we see the leads pocket the money not knowing if the others got an equal amount. I had just recently lost my job (I am 64 years old and the company I worked for got sold) and I needed to within two weeks: pack up a two bedroom apartment I had been living in for over 13 years, find a moving company, find an area and a place to store my things, tie up all loose ends here and continue looking for a job, while still keeping up with paying all my bills. To say I was extremely stressed can not begin to describe what I was going through. I started going online trying to find a company for the move. They were all polite, but I was just another person inquiring about details. The responses I got were like: these are the facts, these are the costs, so you want it or not? I was frustrated, I needed help, answers to my questions and a little understanding for my situation. Then I found Gili and I felt like my prayers were answered. Finally, someone who truly cared and spent time answering my many question while giving me options and suggestions on how to make my move as simple as possible. She worked with me and told me all would be ok, she would help me through my difficult time. She was exactly what I needed; her reassurances helped me to do what I had to do. Within two weeks, all was packed up and moved into the storage facility. The two movers she sent went well above and beyond to help me. They were kind, understanding and very efficient. They did what they said they would do and within the time they promised. My cost was inline with what Gili promised, which was a great relief for me. Talking with you several times during the planning stages was like talking to a long term friend who was trying to help me. Choose this Company. Ok...Look no further. I highly recommend. 1. I had 2 largemoves, 3 bedroom house, one on March 5, 2016 & March 13, 2016. My "what I thought" horrible move went Soooo Smooth. ( I use 3 guys each time but I recommend 4 to go faster) 2. The office was very Responsive. Gili was the best at making sure I had the entire confirmation correct and 18 "Wardrobe" boxes ( to borrow )ready for each of my moves...I have a lot of clothes. 3. Everything went as planned they called before coming and confirmed on that day. 4. There were no surprises or no hidden fees...And this is just the beginning. 5. Included was .60 per pound insurance, dis-assemble and reassemble, any furnature - no extra charge. 6. Make sure you have your own packing supplies so you will not have to buy thiers' ...that's obvious, or you will be charged. 7. Ok, the First move was 11 long hours and these guys were Fabulous!!! Thier names are: MINO, HUGO AND JUAN. These guys were so patience and understanding. They were fast and All of the HEAVY HEAVY furnature had to get delivered upstairs...;.Yipe. They did it with such ease. They re-positioned the rooms several times to my liking because I could not make up my mind. I'm telling you these guys have the patience of a saint. 8. The Second Move was yesterday March 13, 2016, 9 hours long and these movers were Awesome Too. CESEAR, MINO, MARTIN. This was another large move with a full 2 car garage getting moved into into the moving truck and getting transported to new location. Garage moves are horrible...but these guys made the process go so smooth. They orgainized our new garage several times to fit our needs and just took that special care to make sure we were comfortable with the position of each of the boxes. Making Rows, so that there would be walking space and and access. ***Seriously....look no further this is the BEST moving Company I have ever used and the best Move I have ever had. I was a little worried about moving because I'm all by myself (I'm a 20 year-old international student) and I know moving takes a whole lot of work. So I did some browsing online to make sure I would get the best and most stress-free service possible. I came across MyAmericanMovers and was impressed by the amount of good reviews. I decided to go for it, and from the start the service was nothing but great. Gili, who was in contact with me through the whole process, was very thoughtful and helpful. She made sure every one of my questions were answered and was incredibly friendly. I thought that was a good sign, but was still waiting to see how the actual moving part would go... Then, on the moving date, the movers (Jesus, Carlos and Angel) arrived exactly at the time we agreed on. I was even surprised, because honestly in all my previous experiences with other services I had to wait almost the whole time frame that they give you. They disassembled everything for me and packed just as fast, even giving me an extra hand with disconnecting my TV and putting it inside the box, and gave me boxes to collect the "random" or loose things lying around in my room that I forgot to pack or just didn't know in which box to put in. They also assisted me in closing some boxes that I had left often and before I realized it was all packed and ready to go. Completely stress free. Jesus even made sure to let me know which road he was going to take to give me a better estimate on when they would be arriving. When they arrived, he even asked me if I had waited long or not, showing that he was indeed concerned that my move was going as smoothly as possible. In my new apartment, they asked me to show them where each of my furniture would be so they could arrange it for me. They started to unpack and organize everything and soon enough I was settled in already! I gotta say that it was much beyond what I had expected. First I should say that this company in no way incentivizes writing a yelp review. This is a purely honest and appreciative review for an honest, hard-working, and KIND company. Several moving companies reached out to me, but I chose My American Movers because they were kind, direct & upfront about costs, and they really seemed like they cared. Gili was the one who called me to set things up. She couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. It felt like I was talking to a friend - and since moving can be a rather stressful time, her sweet & soothing energy was very much appreciated. I ended up hiring 4 movers/1 truck from this company. The movers were: Chris, Victor, Antonio, and Freddy. They showed up on time, were very respectful, worked SO FAST, and didn't scrape or scratch or break ANYTHING. They were also just NICE people to spend a few hours with! That means something to me. They had a ton of stairs to deal with at the old apartment and there was never one complaint. It didn't seem to slow them down at all!! The standard in CA is to charge double for drive time (you will find this with every professional moving company) and there's always a chance a company could take advantage by driving very slowly or taking a longer route to get to the move-in destination. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that our movers got from the old apartment in Los Feliz to the new place in Weho BEFORE US. They were so fast and efficient. There was never any concern that they were taking advantage of us or our time. I never would have been able to make this move happen without them. They really went above and beyond the call of duty and I so appreciate all their hard work. I am finally getting to write my review from two weeks ago! I feel it is important to do this especially when it comes to a moving company (there are so many scary reviews and some really bad apples out there). I sent out my request for bids to do an in-town move and immediately got an email which was rather low. I called to get info and possible booking for a move that was taking place in a few days. When I spoke to "Gili" she IMMEDIATELY GAVE ME THE RUN DOWN FROM A-Z in charges. There was no shame in her game and she didn't hide ANYTHING I was going to be charged for! Yes, the price she gave in the bid was a BASE price, but I was told about mileage, minimum number of hours, materials if needed, etc. I can't imagine someone being left with the impression that the minimum was all inclusive unless they didn't WANT to hear what she said! The truth of the matter is...if you take responsibility and have your items properly packed you wont NEED their materials, and if you think for one second you can continue to pack a room or two while they are there, forget it because they don't dilly dally! These guys came in and worked their butts off every moment and before they started, one of the guys brought me to the side and had a sheet of paper which went over it all AGAIN in large print. That would be the time to say "don't take my stuff", or "I don't want you to use your materials". They then take you around so you can show them what they will be taking, and they are off and running. I hadn't wrapped my televisions and they wrapped them so good I was yelling trying to get them unwrapped lol. The booking process was easy, Kevin was very thorough and straightforward with the estimated costs provided over the phone. He came out to our house and did a walk through and provided a firm cost that was very close to the phone estimate. Caesar, Miguel, Martin, and Meno were on time for moving day and we were pleased to see four men that would take care of our move. We had this crew pack and move our furniture to their warehouse for storage pending later transfer to our vacation home in Colorado. The work, attitude, and demeanor of these men were exceptional. As mentioned they were on time and Caesar, as crew chief, explained everything we needed or wanted to know. We were pleased with the quality of wrapping, taping, and protecting our furniture and items from possible damage in transit. We were pleased with the time they took to do everything correctly. A month after moving our furniture to the warehouse, we called and set up the appointment to get our furniture to Colorado. Kevin was out on medical leave so Carla helped me. She was just as helpful and pleasant as Kevin. We were able to secure the date for arrival that we wanted. Gonzalo and Osvid (sp?) brought our furniture from LA area to Colorado. We were a little apprehensive about our furniture being moved essentially three times. However, there was no damage or loss. And these two guys were amazing. Incredibly strong and efficient. They unwrapped the furniture and put it in place for us. And they were very pleasant, just like the first crew. I had a great experience with My American Movers. I moved from CA to NC and originally had booked my move with Elite Movers out of Las Vegas. However upon arriving to do my move they changed their estimate to more than 2x what was originally quoted. I cancelled my move with Elite and contacted My American Movers. I spoke with Gili and explained the predicament I was in. I needed to have my things moved out within a few days as I was about to leave on a business trip and needed to turn over my apartment before leaving. I needed to move quickly since I cancelled my original move with Elite due to their outrageous bait and switch on my moving quote. Gili contacted her brother Avi who made arrangements to stop by and do an in person estimate. He stopped by on a Saturday and the movers came that Sunday and loaded things in time for me to catch my flight that day. Everyone I met or spoke with was very professional and seemed to genuinely care about my move, especially Gili who was excellent in explaining everything and followed up and checked in repeatedly to make sure everything was going smoothly. On delivery, the moving crew was again extremely professional and hard working. I have to say that they do a good job with hiring quality people as everyone took care with my belongings, nothing was damaged, and they went out of their way to make sure I knew what was happening at all times. I have moved many times over the past 8 years and have unfortunately dealt with some real bad moving companies. After being burnt so many times, this time around I took the time to thoroughly do my homework. I received so much conflicting information from companies I was considering that I didn't know who was telling me the truth and who was telling me what they thought I wanted to hear. I started asking around to my colleagues and friends to see if they could recommend a company. One of my friends recommend My American Movers. Background on my friend is that he initially used My American Movers several years ago when he moved and was very satisfied with his experience. My American Movers now handles all his employees moves. After my first call into My American Movers, I could tell immediately that everyone there was extremely professional and knowledgeable. My main point of contact there they always made time to speak with me and answer all my questions, even after hours. Although their price was actually about $400 less than other companies I had contacted. On my previous moves I usually ended up going with a company whose price was high and to be honest, I almost always ended up paying much more than they had quoted me. My move was completed a few months ago and I paid exactly the amount My American Movers quoted me. I'm not the type to write reviews, but their exceptional service deserves recognition. Alex and Billy are just amazing. They showed up in torrential downpour, all the way to my apartment in Long Beach. Tall, handsome, quiet, fast and hard working at the same time. What more could a person hope for? These two able bodied gents just took control of my out of control situation. I am so grateful for them and this company! GILI!!! This is one dynamite lady! Immediately, from the first millisecond I heard her voice, I knew I was going to get the best service possible... I love her familiarity. Within her first words, the undertone of "we got you girl. We're gonna make this happen for you mama... No problems." She rocks the casbah!!! Major props to Alex and Billy. Of course, Gili. Made a crummy situation smooth. Can't say enough about Alex and his professional manner. Can't say enough about Billy as well. It was a crummy rainy day and a crummy layout for them... but they/we did it! Caesar, Martin,mino are By far the absolute best experience I've ever had with any moving company, and this was certainly not my first move! Gilli book the move and coordinate everything, efficiently communicating with us by telephone and email, every step of the way. Much appreciated, ladies! These three gentlemen were professional, clean, well mannered, hard working, careful, efficient (didn't rest for a second, even when I offered them water), I can go on and on. I read reviews of a bunch of movers in the San Fernando Valley before contacting My American Movers. I also emailed a few asking for quotes and one website that sends out your request to like a dozen moving companies who will call you and email you over and over every day. I had a simple move with some heavy furniture basically moving right next door. I didn't need someone to come to my house and give me a sales pitch a few were trying to do, I didn't need them to quote me a moving van to move to another area, I just needed a few hours of moving some heavy furniture like fridge, washer/dryer, couch, etc. Most of the companies just called or emailed with sales pitches but only a few would actually quote me a price for several hours work which was what I wanted. My American Movers gave me that quote and it was a great price so I signed up with them. I still wasn't ready for the move date so Gili stayed in contact with me until I could lock down a date. She was great to work with. The best part, the movers showed up on time, worked very hard, were very polite, and did a great job moving. The job hasn't even been completed, but I feel obligated to leave a review for this company. I inquired on a generic moving site about a company that could pack us and move us out of our apartment. Within 5 minutes of sending off my inquiry, I received a phone call from Gili. She was so helpful and very reassuring, as I have never used a moving company until now. She was able to set everything up for me in matter of minutes. I even had to reschedule the move to Memorial Day and I was nervous they wouldn't be working. I was blown away when Gili told me they would do it! This morning the guys arrived on time and ready to work. Like I said, I had hired them to pack and move us. When they walked in, nothing had been done prior. They told me not to worry! They started working and even offered to bring another guy out to help speed up the process. The whole process from start to finish was exceptional. We are very satisfied with all aspects of our experience from the quote, communication, pickup and delivery to the re-routing of our goods etc. We felt like our belongings were being taken care of personally and not just another sale in their income stats. Our belongings were all delivered, intact, no damage, clean, and had to have been handled carefully by how the boxes looked like they did when we packed them. We were very impressed and would use them again if we move in the future. We were very nervous about the whole moving process when we started looking for a moving company because of poor reviews and bad communication with other companies just in the quote stage, but they exceeded our expectations from the start. Even though the delivery took a little longer than we first anticipated it worked out great for us because we moved twice in the time between our belongings arriving so it was much better that we didn't have to move everything twice. We were kept informed along the way of the progress of our delivery and they re-routed our delivery to the new address without any difficulty. read more

I applied on line for a moving quote and Gili was the first person to call me. The moment we spoke I knew that she is honest and that she has a very good handle on her business and I was absolutely right. We spoke two more times over the phone to set up the logistics and then the big day arrived. The crew, Santiago & Family, arrived on time exactly when we were expecting them. What a nice crew, they were all very polite, respectful and they clearly knew what they were doing, real professionals! The loading, packing of fragile objects was done with no issues, so was the disassembling and reassembling of the furniture. Once we arrived at our new home everything was arranged as we had planned. Santiago & Family worked very hard with a smile on their faces until the end. There was a very good atmosphere during the loading and unloading. I recommend them to anyone who needs to relocate. My boyfriend used MAM about 10 years ago and recommended them for my move this past weekend. He said they were "really great" the last time he used them. I hate to admit it, but I agree with him 100%! Booking was fast and easy. I spoke to Gili for my reservation. Within minutes of speaking to her, I received an e-mail confirming the moving date, cost components and other contract terms. We had 2 awesome movers assigned to us - Caesar and Irving. They were really prompt, arriving at 7:10 am (during the 7 to 9am reservation window). They worked so quickly and enthusiastically, wrapping my loose items and large furniture in plastic wrap to make sure everything stayed clean and intact. They also took care of getting a number of large items to storage, which required some coordination of which items would exit first. I think the best part was that they rebuilt our bed and sofa which would have been a nightmare to do on our own. This is the first time I can say that moving was a "relatively pleasant experience". I had a very positive moving experience with them right from the initial stages wherein I checked for their website and phoned them up to the end when the movers laid the last box into our new home. Communication was great. Every little detail was clearly explained. I found no hidden agenda or any shady things during our conversation. They called us when they were supposed to, especially in confirming our move. Movers were on time, pleasant and very organized. They brought all the equipment necessary for a fast and efficient move. The service was excellent. The movers where professional and courteous, but unfortunately a valuable antique mirror was lost in the move. It is part our fault. There were two similar mirrors and we saw the one as they asked us to mount it. We had misplaced a couple mounting screws that they has smartly given to us for safekeeping and told them not to worry we can mount it when we find the screws. We found the screws a couple weeks later and went to mount it, and the Mirror they showed us was the similar one that hangs. It was too late to call and ask where the mirror went. I would honestly love to give them five stars, but I can't. We know we did not leave it in the old place because we had access to it for the next month and searched thoroughly, and we are fully unpacked and moved in, so it is not here. We are guessing it got left on the truck, but we will never know. I received a very apologetic phone call, they offered compensation, which I did not take, but in fairness that it was part my fault and level of care for their customers I bumped them up a star. read more
