I'm really disappointed with how much Nailax has changed since coming under new management. I was a regular customer for about three years and always appreciated the quality, attention to detail, cleanliness, and care they put into their services. Unfortunately, that has completely changed. The service now feels extremely rushed, and it seems like they are cutting corners in multiple areas. One of my biggest concerns is hygiene. Before, they would open a fresh, disinfected set of nail tools in front of you, which always made me feel comfortable and confident about their sanitation practices. During my recent experiences, I noticed staff going from one customer to another using the same tools without seeing a newly disinfected set opened in front of me. That is extremely concerning in a nail salon where tools can come into contact with skin, cuticles, and sometimes blood. The attention to detail is also nowhere near what it used to be. My most recent service was poorly done and felt rushed from beginning to end. On top of that, their prices have increased. I completely understand that businesses sometimes need to raise their prices, but higher prices should not come with a noticeable decline in service, quality, and sanitation. *The photo I included is a FRESH GEL MANICURE! Bumpy and sloppy!* After being a loyal customer for about three years, it's honestly disappointing to see how much this salon has changed. I wouldn't mind paying more if the same quality, cleanliness, and care were still there, but unfortunately, that has not been my experience under the new management.

I hadn't gotten a pedicure in over a year and a half and my toenails were in really great healthy shape. I did my first pedicure with them in May right before my birthday and the second one mid June. So basically I had back-to-back treatments. I took off my toenail polish a couple weeks ago and have Hallmark signs of toenail fungus. I'm super disappointed because it takes such a long time for my toenails to grow out and at 100% came from NaiLax because no one else has touched them and they were PRISTINE prior. They clearly have an issue with proper cleanliness and sanitization. The nails looked good with polish and now I'll have to do without for at least 6-8 months. Will not be visiting again.

The vibe upon entering was a bit intimidating at first but near the end everyone was really nice. They do give complementary drink and I learned that I would need to be specific on what I want when making an appointment. Service was good and pricing isnt too bad! I would come again!

First time at NaiLax, I had a very good experience with TIM. He did such a wonderful job with my Laxurious pedicure. He was very nice, courteous, gentle, took his time and very professional. Gel pedicure came out great, loved it! Greeted with something to drink and comfy chair but no massage it's an add on. Overall enjoyed and would return.

I had an appointment at 9:30am when they opened and they didn't start on my feet until over 1-hour later (10:40am to be exact). Then when they finally started my pedicure they rushed through it and I didn't get the service I waited for. I kept asking these ladies when I would be serviced given I had an opening appointment and they kept pushing me off. Poor customer service.

I paid $48 for this manicure. I asked for square shape and she filed the corners. Also she left them lumpy. Wouldn't recommend.

This was my first time here. I got a full set and a VIP pedicure .Although the customer service was great, and the aesthetic is pretty I did not enjoy my pedicure. I paid almost $100 for a VIP pedicure and I'm not sure if the lady was new but she seemed to not know what to do at all. They kept having to instruct her. As well as myself. She cut my big toe nail and I was bleeding. With the VIP pedicure you receive a the 15 minutes massage she really didn't do it, she spent the whole time rubbing my legs and never once touched my actual foot. I was really hoping I would love this place. They did take off 10% however I feel like with my pedicure. I did not get my moneys worth . The total service plus tips I spent $200. But I mostly definitely will not be back .

I've been here several times. They do decent gel manicures which is why I've been back. I decided I wanted to try Gelx to see if that would last longer. They scheduled me with Leo. I wanted Trish but I was told she didn't do gelX. My appointment for my hands was 11:15 and my pedicure was scheduled with Trish at 12pm. They asked me if I was ok with waiting. I was totally fine with it. I get there and they seat me in the chair for pedicures. (The place isn't well lit and they don't use additional lighting when doing pedicures and manicures at the same time. So, I opted to be seated at the table where they do hands only. While I'm in the middle of getting my nails done, the receptionist comes over and tells me that Trish is ready now. It's 11:30 and I'm informing her that my appointment with Trish is at 12pm. I'm going to chalk the back and forth to lack of communication and language barrier. I advised her that I was ok with waiting. needless to say that I lost my appointment with Trish but agreed to come back at 3pm. While getting my nails done I'm advising her that they were too long. I wanted an active length. While filing, I asked her to stop filing down my nail bed as there was no reason for her to do so. It would've caused them to be raw and painful. I'm advising her the length of each hand is off. She checked and agreed. She seemed to be unhappy with my pointing things out and would then tell me to pick color. I also pointed out that the nails were lifted at the tip. This happens when the nail isn't all the attached at the tip. She told me that my nail will grow down which makes absolutely no sense. I asked her to clean up the excessive glue under my nail and she told me it was just powder. I've washed my hands over a couple dozen times since getting my nails done yesterday and it's still really bad. To add insult to injury, I received a call from who I presume is the manager (She refused to give me her name). She essentially told me not to come back as it appears that I'm unhappy with the services that were provided. WOW! She didn't ask me about my experience. Mind you I didn't make a complaint to the manager or owner as I usually don't. I tend to just make a mental note as to who is good at what and schedule accordingly. Don't come here if you want your nails done properly. They seem to have an issue with customers telling them how they want their nails shaped, the length and details like getting the hairs out the polish before it drys and filing the nail AFTER the gel drys. It breaks the seal and causes water and moisture to get through. Which causes the gel to lift a lot sooner than it should. FYI... I used to do nails in college. The lack of attention to detail and unhealthy practices like filing someone's nail bed down to its raw causes pain and a health risk when those chemicals are placed on top of a raw nail. I want my money back so that I can go somewhere and get my nails done properly. I paid $75 for this and to be told not to comeback is rude and unprofessional.

Nothing but great things to say! I was accommodated VERY last minute, I asked to get my mani and pedicure done at the same time since I was just transiting through LAX, they said they couldn't guarantee it since I called about 2 hours before the appointment, and they pulled it off no problem. I wish I could remember the name of the receptionist, they were so helpful and communicative! They even called me and asked if I wanted to come in early, since they knew time was not on my side; which was great since I was able to fit it in a nap before my flight. The pedicurist was so sweet and showed me a little sign stating that she had a hearing problem which I really appreciated, so I just typed to her and used body language and it was the best pedicure I've had in ages, I got the most luxurious option and a fill with gel polish and paid just over $100 and was in and out in an hour read more

Being new to LA I'm looking for a regular nail salon and visited NaiLAX due to the positive reviews it had. Although the experience was great, very attentive and feel cared for rather than most other salons that are constantly busy and rushing. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the results, I paid $110 for a mani/pedi (quite a lot of money) and my nails chipped within days. Unfortunately it's difficult to find time to get my nails done anyways but even more so to go back and get them fixed, nor should I have to take time out of my day to go back to do so. Also one of my toe nails has a tip on and only realized once I got home that it hadn't been filled so there was a gap where it had grown out. Unfortunately experience, not sure I'll be returning especially based on value for money. read more

I love NaiLAX! It's a super cute nail salon with very clean and comfortable seated areas. Prices are reasonable. The technicians are nice, do a great job and never rush me, even when they are clearly busy. It may just be a me thing, but I'm especially fond that their nail colors come in book form :) Pro tip: schedule in advance if you want a Fri-Su appointment. They book up fast! read more

I initially had a few hiccups with my gel manicure not curing properly but Naomi and Quinn offered wonderful help and were both so kind along the way. Naomi picked out a new color similar to the original polish I had on and Quinn made sure each nail was set and dry at the end. So i actually really like NaiLAX. Im a frequent customer. I usually get french toes, and my hands may change slightly. This day i got my own nails coated and requested an oval shaped french tip with a simple line design on 1 finger/ each hand. (The pedicure picture was a different time, i only got my hands this day) The woman who helped me said she can do it. This isn't usual, but we took almost 2 hours on my hands. I usually don't mind someone taking their time, but only if and when you're providing me with what i asked for. We filed my nails down a bit, (did not request it, but chucked it up to shaping). As she started the design (1.5 hours in) i tried to tell her about the french tip shape again, she said ok but still did the shape in the picture. I also tried to remind her of the design i wanted on my ring finger that did not have a french tip, she did it anyway. I also provided her a picture of what i was asking for, she didn't follow the pictures. By the time we did our 7th uv light on each hand she asked me if i still wanted the design, i told her no it's fine. (There was a woman sitting next to me that even mumbled, "that sounds frustrating " i just giggled but definitely was). When i got to the register, they quoted $76 (keep in mind, i only gotten my nails coated and french tip, nothing else). I usually pay about $65-$68 when i get a full acrylic set with French Oval shape, long or medium. So i was confused to ask what was i paying $76 for. Unfortunately i had an appointment i was going to be late for so i didn't ask. But definitely ask questions. They can definitely be on the higher priced side but i think they need a set price sheet because I've had better work from here that has cost less. The vibe is good. The host in the front is always nice. I think they forget sometimes when they ask if you want a complimentary drink. Because the last 2 times Ive went, i said yes to water and they've forgotten. But no biggie on that. read more

Great service and great nails!! I found this place on Yelp since I have been looking for another nail shop to go to for a pedicure. This place didn't disappoint! It's close to my house, reasonably priced and serves Sangria! I called and made an appointment, got a reminder text and call while I was on my way to the shop and when I arrived, was asked what drink I wanted. My response, of course the Sangria!" I was asked to pick my color and then escorted to my seat. Before I sat down, the gentleman who offered me libations sprayed the seat lightly with Lysol. I was thinking "what is that going to do" since it was so little, but I was glad anyway. There was a slight language barrier when I asked if my water could be hotter, but we were able to work through it and get my pedicure going. Overall my experience was nice and relaxing and I came out with cute toes. Parking is in a large lot with other businesses so no problem there. If you're looking for a quality pedi, this is the place to go! read more

I didn't want to write a bad review but they left me no choice. I got a full set of nails and within the first 5 days 4 nails broke. I knew this was a bad sign from the beginning. They offered to redo my nails and made me wait 30 min after my appointment... fine I let it slide. Then after they fixed it 2 more nails broke up and then 3 nails from the new one. I had enough.. I called I had to pay for the 2 nails 16$ each nail ???? Ya and for the new nails that broke I wasn't going to come back and have to pay for everything again.. this was the worst nails I ever received. I didn't want to name drop but she left me no choice. Jessica failed to provide an adequate job on my nails. She left them pretty but they were weak and brittle and she tried to blame my own fingers for them breaking. My nails didn't even last 9 days. All my nails broke off today. CLEAN off. I will never be coming back here again. read more

I have twice a month pamper days for myself and my niece, They cancelled me because the owner did not like that I corrected her for over charging me and she admitted it to! I was a loyal customer,$160 plus each time I would go; plus I would tip in cash I also recommend a lot of my friends to come here as well. I never complained! I used to like coming to this nail salon! Service was OK not the best! But the owner is completely rude/ worst person I have ever met or spoke too!!!! ** Shout out to Edwin! He was amazing but he no longer works for them which is a shame because his customer service was amazing - Maybe its for the best, he doesn't work for them any more! and service girls are amazing as well, but its like they are scared to express themselves. As for the customer service NOW is horrible!!! OWNER'S Business etiquette is by far the worst I have ever seen! I have 3 business of my own, I treat my customer amazing! CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! For What I went through with the company is by far the worst && she is total rip off!! They over charge for everything! It can explain why they are always empty. this was my first time at NaiLAX and it won't be my last! I just got a full set (Vivian) with custom design and a classic gel pedicure (Quinn) and had the BEST experience. I was seated immediately and the front desk staff was so friendly and attentive during my entire servicing. Both of my technicians worked efficiently without forsaking the quality of their work. Vivian was especially kind and patient in working with me to get the design i wanted as closely as possible which I extremely appreciated! The prices were phenomenal and you're even offered a complimentary beverage which was nice! They have an extensive selection of colors and services. I already told them I'm going to have my mom also start going here for her services. She can't wait! read more

Everyone is a magician here, anyone you get will leave your nails looking amazing!! ..I wish I took pictures but they actually took some of mine and posted on their IG (green tip with double French tip touch). Came in with a reference picture and the matched it to the T! Love this place. I always do my pedi too and I love that they respect my shape and maintain it--EVERY TIME. I love this place. Side note: MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! It's always a better experience that way. I've done acrylics, gels and acrylics with gel and they do it ALL so nicely. Make sure you mention it on your appt call because they pair you with just the right person for the job . read more

Starting with the positive, everyone working here was super friendly and attentive! The service itself was okay, but for a simple mani/pedi, a bit overpriced. My disappointment was in the cleanliness of the salon (dusty furniture and fixtures, sticky floor) and the props the techs used during service. For the manicure, my wrists were rested on a block of styrofoam - which would be impossible to sanitize. Maybe this salon is well liked for other services that I didn't get, but it's not for me. read more

So after walking out on my regular pedicurist for a total lack of respect for my time I decided to drive around to find a place and stumbled upon Nailax. Love everything about this place. It's appointment only no waiting, beautiful atmosphere, nice staff. My only criticism is that if you find a good tech stick with them. I recently went and the young lady who did my pedi didn't do a very good job which had never happened I've always received great service, and when I called they were happily willing to correct it but only if I saw the same person which I wasn't comfortable with. It's a bad policy, in my opinion. However, I would still highly recommend this place. read more

I was looking for a nice place to relax w/my girls. Edwin was very responsive with inquiries & appointments. It's best to make an appointment to prevent waiting for a chair. My friends and I (total 3 women) made an appointment for 4:30pm. We all immediately got seated, but my service was the only one started at 4:30. One of my friend's appointment started at 4:40 and the other at 4:45 waiting for nail techs to finish prior appointments. Not a huge deal, but if you have other engagements afterwards, just something to think about. The ambience was very calming and soothing. Clients are socially distanced and they provide barriers between clients and nail techs. They also Lysol spray the chairs right before you sit in them. I wish they were massage chairs, but otherwise still comfortable. Hopefully in the future they can play some other music such as R&B. They were playing soothing classical/instrumentals. Also, kinda pricey but expected for El Segundo/LAX area. Kay did my nails. She was very quick, proficient and my nails came out just as requested. Michelle did my pedicure. It was very soothing, relaxing and my pedi came out great. Overall the staff was very friendly & professional. I'm very happy with the service I received. Will be back when I need another destresser. read more

This was one of the worst nail experiences I've ever had. Do not go here! The technician who was doing my nails filed them completely crooked. I told her a few times to fix and then she got aggressive and yelled at me to stop looking at my nails. Then I asked for French nails with colored tips and she started coloring my full nail. When I asked reminded her I wanted colored tips, she then colored my tips crooked. I finally had to just change into a single color but now I'm left with crooked nails that do not look like gel nails. I could have done a better job at home. I politely talked to the manager about this but not only did I not get a new technician I also got no discounts or any apologies. Seriously do not waste your time or money. read more

Nailax is genuinely one of my favorite nail salons I have ever been to! Not only do they have the best nail technician ( Michelle) but the service is impecable and reliable from beginning to end. I also appreciate and love the fact that they give you an axact 5 min massage w/ every regular mani and pedi. Every place that I have been to, ALWAYS rush a massage. Here they take their time with you, you never feel like you're getting rushed out of the place! I got a gel manicure on Monday, Sept 20 and my nails started shipping 5 days later. Pretty pricey for extremely basic services, and the chairs aren't really comfortable. The girl who did my hands put my hands to soak in freezing water and then when it was done, she poured that same freezing water onto my legs while my feet were soaking in lukewarm water in the foot tubs. read more

Moved to The Gundo in December during the pandemic and started going to this salon right away because it's so close. Very calming atmosphere and they are very Covid-conscious and clean. The appointment and check-in is easy and they typically have plenty of appointments. The technicians are all very skilled and friendly overall good work! I came here once and will not be coming back. They couldn't do a dipping powder fill and had to take all my acrylics off. They change the shape of my nail without asking and made them look fake af. My pedicure was very mediocre and after a week most of the polish had peeled off. Had to go to my regular nail place a week after to fix everything they did wrong. Additionally the technicians were not nice. And they are pricey. read more

I went here twice the first time the out my nail on crooked. Also they didn't tell me that the dip powder did not support longer acrylic nails. My nail split. I tried them one more time just to be sure it wasn't just a one off experience. The experience was better the quality was just horrible when looking up close. I can be picky with my nails but with the prices so high and everything an up charge I think I deserve to be satisfied. I originally booked for gelX and I was assured over the phone they are good. She stared removing my old set and without asking started cutting my nails down to the nub. I didn't notice since I was looking at my phone until she started to cut one so short the clippers were cutting into my skin. I have naturally long nails and like gelX because I can keep my natural nails without damage. Next she used the drill to take off my old set. This thins your nails and is supposed to be scraped off after an acetone soak. They didn't have all the nail shapes for gelX and wanted me to have her just shape it by hand which defeats the purpose of gelX which is a perfect shape not dependent on the nail tech to get it right. She couldn't understand me and at that point I decided to go somewhere else. I asked for a basic manicure instead. This took 2 hours. 2 hours for a removal and basic manicure and when I finally thought I got out of there the polish smudged after waiting 15 mins under a cold fan. Also the mani massage is a water like lotion with rubber gloves. I wouldn't have written the review but since they did not even enquire or apologize I figured I'd communicate through the review while waiting for my nails to dry a second time. It's empty in here yet they don't seem to care about having customers. Also lots of debris left under my nails. Basic mani 2 hours An hour later and my nail smudged again. Old nail polish. What a waste of time. read more

I went it to get gel builder for the first time and a pedicure They were very confusing from the start saying that it lasts 4wks but then later that I would need to come back in 2 weeks to get a fill. The nail tech kept filing my nails narrower and narrower until the nails looked crazy and unnatural despite me telling her I wanted the shape to be almond but more on the round toward the tip. She argued with me about it being too narrow before finally haphazardly adding some builder gel on the sides to most of my nails and then refiling them to more of the shape i wanted I could tell then that the nails were structurally right and as expected it has been less than 5 days since I got them done and the gel she added is breaking off My cuticles also look a wreck and the underside of the nails are a mess and digging into my finger because she didn't drill the extra gel out even though I asked her to several times. I was paying so much attention to what was going on with my nails that I didn't pay attention to my pedicure much but now that I'm home it's also so messy and there is polish all over my toe and up on the sides of my nails There is also no apex to my finger nails and the gel is just flat on top Really ridiculous considering they charged $95 for the nails and $30 for the pedicure Definitely will never go back again read more

I visited this salon on 1/16/25 to have my builder gel removed, and unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience. The nail technician who assisted me either lacked proper training in using the electric file or didn't take enough care, as he applied excessive pressure that caused discomfort throughout the process. In addition to the electric file, he used a regular file, which ended up damaging my natural nails--leaving them thin, brittle, and prone to bending. To make matters worse, my nails were not shaped or filed evenly. Despite the poor service, I still paid and tipped, as I understand this is their livelihood. I also recognize that this experience reflects the work of one technician and not the entire salon. However, if you decide to visit, please be cautious and ensure you're in good hands. The first thing I noticed it that all of their tools are sanitized using an autoclave (I'm a nurse and this is what we use to sanitize our tools) - that's itself is 5 stars. I am always happy when I see my beautiful nails. Mary always greets her customers with a smile, Lynn is my manicurist. Nevertheless, everyone there does a meticulous job. Clean and airy so not overcome with chemical smells.

Absolutely loved my experience here! Karen runs this place my herself and it's appointment only for…read morethe most part. I got lucky when I called and she was able to fit me in last minute. This place is clean and hygienic, and because its appointment only its nice to not have to expose yourself. Karen was detailed and did an absolutely wonderful job with my manicure and pedicure. Her prices are reasonable! I think the only downside is that you cannot come here and hangout with your friends because its just her doing the service, unless you have some time to kill. But that's not super important to me, I will be coming back here and strongly recommend visiting this salon. Karen is great and she has been at this location for many years, and her customers keep coming back. There is parking next to the salon so you don't have to bother finding street parking.

I was corresponding via text and was told that Rachel was my nail tech. I specifically requested her because she did a good job on my friend. My appointment was at 9:30 and when I arrived, I was waiting for 30 mins before I was approached and told my nail tech was on vacation!! I was then told that someone else can do my nails but it would be gel x (which I didn't want). I attempted to leave before they told me they would make arrangements for Tammy to service me but I had to wait an hour. This was so unprofessional and upsetting given the fact I booked a month in advance and nobody checked the appointments to call the clients to inform them their nail tech went on vacation. My service took 2.5 hours plus the hour I was waiting so I had to pay $15 for parking since the validation only covers 2 hours. I was disappointed at the fact they didn't wave my parking for the inconvenience on their behalf. The space is clean and nicely decorated, only negative is there are little to no seats for people waiting, and for them to be backed up because they failed to notify clients certain staff were not available..huge logistical issue Tammy: TAMMY IS THE GOAT. She was nice, precise, professional and on point. She was very detailed and did all my designs free hand. Tammy saved this place of a 2 star rating! I plan to book with her in the near future and spread the word!! I paid $130 plus tip All in all, I plan to give this nail salon another chance, however If they continue to conduct themselves in a manner like before, I won't come back. Time is money and I want my time to be considered as a client if I'm spending my money here.

Wanted to try a more affordable nail salon in my area and found this place. Im pleasantly surprised…read moreat final product and super happy with the price. I got a gel x extension set and paid $77 for removal of my previous extensions, a new set, and cuticle removal which was extra. This combined is more affordable than the last salon I was going to so I had to share my experience! It was about 2 hrs and 15 minutes which to be honest was very long for me but i think the application and attention to detail was the trade off. I plan to come back for future fills and will update my review accordingly if my experience strays from this original one! Con: the removal method was a little rough. It was the method of essentially ripping/peeling off my old set when i feel like im used to soaking in acetone and filing off. Wanting to mention it in case anyone is sensitive to that and my nails were filed pretty thin. Colors: since it was my first time, I didn't have a chance to look at every single color option but i do recall they did offer some cat eye and chrome options for more. The upside for me too was that they offered colors with gold flakes (pictured) and there was no up charge.

After she shaped one hand she says, "Cash Only" but your signs says you accept Visa/Mstrcard. She says no Cash Only :-( I think that is very POOR and TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Take your sign down ppl!! You should communicate Cash Only when your customers walk in. Never going back to Today's Nail...Waisted my time...uurrrggg :-(
