Thrilled to have more indian food options available in Savannah. Indian food is one of my favorites, so I was excited about trying it out. Stopped by for lunch today, and we were immediately shown to a table. Our waiter was extremely friendly and ensured to ask all of us our spice level (I am a wuss and cannot do very spicy). We started with some cracker type things, which were yummy and had different sauces (one was a mango, one had tomato, etc) that you could use in your food or on your cracker. I ordered the tikka masala. It came in a pretty bowl, and another bowl that had the rice. It allowed you to mix it up however you like, which I'm a fan of. I could have amped up the seasoning a little. I got a side of garlic naan which was buttery and full of flavor. Absolutely will go again. read more

First time having Nepalese food and it was delicious . I've always wanted to try naan bread and I wasn't disappointed.

It was alright. Ordered veg samosa, chili mo mo, butter chicken, roti, and ramen soup. Roti wasn't the actual roti, it was just regular naan but thinner. Butter chicken was flavorful and well prepared, but nothing to write home about. Vegetable samosa were huge, the crust to stuffing ratio was very small, hard to eat and dip but the flavor was on point (the dips came in tiny plastic cups). The biggest disappointment was the ramen soup. Yes, I know this is a Nepalese restaurant, but it's on the menu, and my son wanted it. It was probably the worst iteration on ramen I've seen, the broth was bland, the noodles were over cooked spaghetti noodles (yes, you read that right), the egg was hard boiled and over cooked to the point the yolk was turning blue. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Possibly the best Chicken Saag I have ever had! The portion of Saag was very generous and I took more than half to go. I also ordered the Garlic Naan which was delicious and heavy on the garlic, which I love. I would have liked to have a little more rice to go with my large portion of Saag, though I'm sure they would have gladly brought me more if I had asked. I make rice often at home and it would have been rude to ask for more food just to take home. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a quality, reasonably priced meal downtown. I chanced upon Namaste while in savannah. The restraint required a face mask when entering, had hand sanitizer, and also sat people at a safe distance from each other. The menu explains the different items and the server was also very helpful. I ordered a lamb Samosa to start with and then a Nepalese chicken curry. The lamb samaosa were absolutely delicious, great flavor and large portion with some side sauces. The Nepalese curry was also very flavorful. But I'm not sure how a Nepalese curry is different from an Indian curry. It had the same flavor profile as a masala sauce. One of the only problems I had was that the curry was too salty and so ended up having a gallon of water afterwards. But otherwise, really delicious and enough for the next day too. This is definitely a place you should stop at if you're in savannah and fancy some south Asian food. read more

The Winner for the Worst Customer Service ever at any restaurant is: Namaste Indian restaurant on Broughton Street, Savannah, Georgia. Since most places were closed for Christmas day, this place was packed. And they couldn't have been less prepared. We had reservations. No matter. People sat, ordered, and then waited 2 1/2 to 3 hours for any sign of food. Waiters didn't even offer the standard free naan bread w/3 dipping sauces, that any decent Indian restaurant always serves customers while they wait for dinner. Nothing. Not even drinks. No bar. No bread. Nothing for over 2 1/2 hours on Christmas Day. -- No apologies. No warnings. Nothing. Just hunger. Over half the tables full of people sitting next to empty flat dishes. -- If you're reading this, Mr. Manager at Namaste Restaurant, why didn't your staff have the courtesy to at least serve FREE Naan Bread to your hungry customers, especially on Christmas Day? Or complimentary drinks of Lassis for everyone while they sat waiting at your tables? --- Clearly, no one at this restaurant cared about the happiness of the families who were there for Christmas Day Dinner (By the way, December 25th is a special holiday for most people in Savannah.) * When the appetizers finally arrived, they were soaked in oil, dripping of grease, as if the cooks had forgotten to scoop them out once they were ready. And they were bland. I got up, said good-bye to the host, told him "I'm sorry, I haven't eaten all day, I am very hungry, I have to go home, my husband is staying with the children but, I can't wait any longer.". I went home hungry & ate a cheese sandwich. I thought maybe the manager would have sent my family home with a complimentary dinner for me or maybe sent a coupon for another day but no. Nothing. I decided to be away for Christmas this year & we were not disappointed in our meal here! Hummus & simosa's to die for!!

Food was great. While we walked in, we saw there was only one server and the owner informed they are running short of staff and i agree its going all over the US with same issue. My husband and I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now and it did not disappoint! We have tried other restaurants near the area who serve similar dishes (Persis and Himalayan) and agree that Namaste wins hands down. We ordered their dumplings, chicken makhni, lentil soup, tandoori chicken, garlic naan for me, regular naan for the kiddos, and aloo gobi with chicken. The naan was to die for especially dipped in the butter chicken sauce! The portions were larger than the other restaurants we've been too which I appreciated. At the other places, they seemed stingy with the rice and naan but here they delivered! The tandoori chicken was fall off the bone tender and cooked perfectly. Beyond the food, the service was warm and welcoming. The owner greeted us and talked to us briefly. The servers went above and beyond for us. Namaste Savannah is 10/10!!! I went here to try some of the popular Indian food that i have seen on tiktok.. I ordered a mango lassi, butter chicken (medium spice level), and the garlic nan. FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING! Customer service was spectacular and the person assigned to our table was quick and continuously coming back to check on us and make small conversation. We dined here this last weekend, this restaurant became a mixed review. Food was 4-5 stars, service was 0-1. We were able to get food to order. We started with garlic naan and samosas for an appetizer. The naan was good; it was light, but not too light. It had a good thickness and not an over-powering garlic to it, a nice compliment. The samosas were also good, ground beef with peas inside. The pastry was fried, but the insides were nicely cooked and it wasn't over-done. The sauces I thought could have been a little better, the brown sauce (chutney?) was a little on the sweet side and the green sauce I thought was a bit tarty. Not too bad. The samosas were a decent size, two to an order. The meat was also good, cooked to tenderness within. In our party, we ordered the ramen noodles, bison fried rice, tikka masala, and korma curry. For the most part, the food was pretty good. The ramen noodles were delicious and the broth was very flavorful. The tikka masala was also very good; creamy but not too oily, the meat was also flavorful and tender. The same with the korma curry, very flavorful and quite good. However, the dining experience did also have significant drawbacks. The server we had was not attentive to us and they got details of our food wrong. We asked for the korma curry and tikka masala to be spicy, both dished were not spicy at all. The person who ordered the tikka masala also asked for extra naan, that didn't come either. When we were seated, our server took a while to get our orders (we were ready to give our appetizer and our entrée orders by that time). I didn't notice the length of time at first, but once we noticed that our entrées were not spicy and the naan didn't show up, the person who brought the food (was different than our server) was too busy hosting a party of 15 to another table and our regular server was nowhere to be found. After about 10 minutes, our ordinary server shows up and we state what is wrong; I'm thinking that maybe they might re-make the dishes? No, they come back (after another long time, at least 5 minutes) with a little sample containing the spice that would have been cooked into the food. Another 6-7 minutes later the naan comes, our server says that they wanted to serve fresh naan. Hmmmm... lots of time spent... So when it's time to pay the bill, I tell our server that we're ready to go and we'd like boxes to pack the food with. The check comes promptly, but the boxes do not come. As I'm reviewing the check, this only takes me a couple minutes to do and at the end of that time, either I'm ready to pay or I have a question/concern. During this time, the boxes don't come and I'm waiting, very obviously, where she just isn't coming by. So normally the server should keep an eye on the guest, their body language can tell so much like, "I'm done reviewing the check, I'm ready to pay and I'm just sitting here waiting for you to take the card/check.." Their body language can also tell other important things, like "I'm not eating my food... Why is that..?" or, "We're not looking at the menus, maybe we are ready to order.." Any rate, what do I see our server doing? Chatting with other servers (I presume they are) and various people at the bar. I also see our server hosting a couple that comes into the restaurant, leading to seat them and also chatting with them. I'm wondering maybe I should just approach a different server? Maybe I should just go to the bar? I still haven't even gotten the boxes yet! So I get up and get boxes from the host station. That took a whole 10 seconds. The server approaches me to tell me that their payment system has went offline and they can only take cash or an online payment (I forgot what app it was, but I don't live my life/world from my phone so I don't have that app/method to pay.) The owner approaches me, apologetic, he offers to knock 10% off. I happen to have my check book (Oh yeah, I'm totally old-school) and offer to give a check. He was willing to accept it, so I just wrote a check for the total bill minus 10%. I ended up accidentally forgetting my phone there and when I came back, my server found it. She commented that I didn't tip her and it wasn't her fault that the payment system went down. Well you're right, that part wasn't your fault. But hanging at the bar when you should have been paying attention to your table is what made you lose your tip. Not checking up on us because the food was not prepared properly made you lose your tip. Not taking 10 seconds to give us the freaking boxes made you lose your tip. Stopped by this place because we were in the area, saw it had decent reviews but I was not very thrilled about how the pictures of the food looked; decided to give it a chance anyways and I'm glad we did! We got the spinach dip with cheese naan as an appetizer, wow, it was amazing. I got shrimp tika masala which was super tasty, came with white rice and veggies. The veggies were flavorful and char grilled, such an improvement from the bland veggies served at most restaurants. SO glad we found this place! Never had Nepalese cuisine, however, we are huge fans of Indian food so this hit the spot. From the moment we walked inside, we were surrounded by those warm, familiar spices that make your mouth water. The bar was lovely and the dining area was spacious and clean. Merci, our bartender, was an absolute peach. Made me a lovely signature cocktail, the Pineapple Express. Smooth and comforting, just a wonderful blend of ingredients. Loken, chef and co-owner, greeted us like old friends and treated us to a shooter on the house. He spent time chatting with us so it was nice to learn about his journey of becoming a restaurateur. We ordered our food to go...lamb samosas, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala with a side of sautéed veggies. The food was even better than it smelled. You MUST give this place a try. They also have a lunch buffet that we hope to hit up next time we visit Savannah. So glad this was the place we chose to dine from on our last night here.
