Nana's Kitchen is that spot. The food and the service were so good I literally downloaded the Yelp app just to leave a review--and that should tell you everything. From the first bite, it was clear this wasn't just cooked food, it was made with intention. Hot, fresh, flavorful, and straight from the soul. Let's just say Tabitha Brown wasn't lying--everything is good. No exaggeration. This is comfort food done right. No shortcuts, no bland plates, just real flavor and care in every bite. Very delicious and absolutely worth the hype. Tips: Parking can be limited and the wait can be long, so come prepared. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and definitely use the restroom before you arrive. Trust me--you'll want to focus on the food once you get it.

Delicious food and friendly owners/staff!! A good local place to support. We need more vegan restaurants in this world! Even if you aren't veg you'll like it.

Crispy chickn handheld with fries & side of Mac n cheese

Finally got to check this spot out on Saturday as I start going to restaurants for #PHXVRW I ordered the crispy chicken handheld and a side of Mac N cheez. The bun was soft and "buttery" and the breading was nice and crisp while the chicken was soft & moist. I am not good at tolerating spice of any kind, even pepper, so I couldn't do the cabbage and sauce on the bun (scraped it off), but the residual flavor was poppin and I still enjoyed the whole sandwich. Because I took the order to go, the steam/moisture from the container made the fries a little soggy, but I revived them in the air fryer and they were scrumptious. Packed with flavor and the perfect compliment to the sandwich. I have missed eating Mac n' Cheese, and this order absolutely hit the spot. It was super creamy and rich for vegan cheese, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Can't wait to come back for their desserts!!

Nana's Special (I think that's the name) with the ribs...wow!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! I definitely plan to return many times, from San Tan Valley! I so wish I could cook vegan food this good!

The service was good! The bathroom smelled disgusting, thankfully I just had to wash my hands but so gross! Let's get to the food! Mostly everything was just too sweet to me! The beans were too sweet, the collard greens too sweet, Mac and cheese had no flavor and the noodles were over cooked. The ribs again, the sauce on them. Too sweet. The fried chicken and food rolls were the best things! I wanted to try the twisted corn on the cob, but they didn't have any! The starry soft drink was disgusting I took 1 sip and didn't drink anymore. Needless to say I will not be back! Beans 2 stars Cookies & Cream shake 2 1/2 stars Cornbread 3 stars Fried chicken 3 1/2 stars Hood rolls 3 stars Mac & cheese 1 star Ribs 2 stars Starry soft drink 1 star

The best vegan soul food I've ever had in my life and thank goodness to TikTok for sharing this recommendation. The Nanas Soul comes with Plant Based Ribs, Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese and Bussin Baked Beans. When I visited though, the baked beans weren't available so I got an extra side of Mac & Cheese which was delicious. Super flavorful and delicious! Super excited to try more in the future.

Initially I had saved BYOV as a vegan restaurant to try, and drove to this location to find out that it was permanently closed. At first I was disappointed as I eat vegetarian, and love trying new plant-based locations. I began searching my other saved locations, but decided to check out Nana's Kitchen to see what replaced the former BYOV. When I went to Yelp/Google, I was thrilled a vegan place replaced a vegan place. What are the odds! I do have a peanut and almond allergy, so vegan places can be a little tricky to navigate. Wish their website listed better for food allergies as I felt it would inconvenience to ask. I went with what I thought would be safe, and loved their featured menu item. Next time I visit (yes, it's that good for me to drive to Chandler), I will definitely go during an off time to inquire more about the website or may write the restaurant in advance as the soul food plate is calling my name for sure! Great locally owned location that I would suggest any one try, even if they don't eat plant-based as the food was delicious!

My favorite thing I tried here were the lemon pepper wings!! Loved the flavor and the slight crispness of the wings. The collard greens and ribs came in at a close second.

Nana's XL and twisted corn. Not pictured peach cobbler...equally delicious.

This place was fantastic! I'm vegan, but my friend that joined me is not. I've taken her to several vegan places in the few years we've been friends and she said this was her favorite, hands down! She also said it was the best vegan Mac and cheese she's ever had. We will be back! My son loves fried pickles, so I need to bring him here to try them.

This vegan soul food restaurant was worth a try. I found it on tik tok. Great customer service. The lemonade was by far my favorite thing I tried. The rolls would've been better if the yams weren't so mushy. I like chunks in mine. The fries were somewhat sweet. I'm not sure if it was cinnamon or brown sugar. The cauliflower was crunchy and savory. I would like to go back and try the fish and grits.

I love cars. This car is I've gotten a chance to see nice unique rides outside of this establishment

Since it's a burger joint, Hubs ordered the Balboa and I ordered the Yeti. Wow! My burger was to die for. The rosemary goat cheese with bacon jam was the perfect combo of tangy and sweet! Hubs was eating his burger without any complaints which is what you want. Both of us went with the hand cut fries. Crispy and very good! We can't wait to return. This place is legit!

We asked if they could turn on the sound for the World Cup and they were more than willing to accommodate. I thought the Balboa burger was very good and I would have enjoyed the gas lamp burger better if the red pepper didn't keep slipping out. They don't charge you if you change fries for tots or even your burger patty for a chicken or turkey patty, which is really nice. Lowlights: I'm a big french fry eater and I didn't really like the fries here I found them too soft. The majority of their tables inside are barstools, which is a bit uncomfortable for me personally.

I was a little disappointed that it was a smash burger instead of a thick, juicy patty, but nonetheless the flavors were impeccable. I added a fried egg on top too for $2 to make the burger even heftier. Wow I'm still thinking about it the day after. Also the fries were skinny and perfectly crispy!! But I also got the Beach Please cocktail (1800 Coconut Tequila, Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice, Lime Juice, Triple Sec) but it wasn't what I expected. I couldn't really taste the Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice, mostly coconut and lime. It was still a refreshing and cheap cocktail, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. I loved this little nook as it was quieter. What We Ordered: - Red Wine: My coworker ordered this, and remarked how much she enjoyed. Takes an edge off the work week, and a great pairing of catching up while I was onsite at the Phoenix office. - Curious Cocktail: The temperature of the day we dined was 111° and I needed something refreshing. They didn't have a Spritz on the menu, so I went with this. I did enjoy the flavor, but could only have one of these as pretty sweet. - Heirloom Tomato Toast: This was the perfect start to the meal, and the vibrancy of the heirloom tomatoes was refreshing. I really enjoyed the miso aioli as it really complimented the tomatoes. - Side of Crispy Potatoes: Sometimes you just need some carbs, and these hit the spot for a starter before entrees though it is listed as a side. - Dry Rub Chicken Wings: These were decent for wings, but I think I would refrain from ordering again as the sauce choices just weren't great. - Mercato Sourdough Pizza: My coworker throughly enjoyed this pizza, and it intrigued me to return to order one as I couldn't have this one (pesto). - Orange Olive Oil Cake: This was perfection! The salted honey whip + berry coulis helped balance out the denseness and tartness of the orange olive oil cake. Genuinely a contender for my favorite dessert this summer, and I've had a few when spending 15+ days traveling for work. I'd definitely would return here, and one of my new favorite spots in Downtown Chandler!
