Nana's Kitchen is that spot. The food and the service were so good I literally downloaded the Yelp app just to leave a review--and that should tell you everything. From the first bite, it was clear this wasn't just cooked food, it was made with intention. Hot, fresh, flavorful, and straight from the soul. Let's just say Tabitha Brown wasn't lying--everything is good. No exaggeration. This is comfort food done right. No shortcuts, no bland plates, just real flavor and care in every bite. Very delicious and absolutely worth the hype. Tips: Parking can be limited and the wait can be long, so come prepared. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and definitely use the restroom before you arrive. Trust me--you'll want to focus on the food once you get it.

Delicious food and friendly owners/staff!! A good local place to support. We need more vegan restaurants in this world! Even if you aren't veg you'll like it.

Crispy chickn handheld with fries & side of Mac n cheese

Finally got to check this spot out on Saturday as I start going to restaurants for #PHXVRW I ordered the crispy chicken handheld and a side of Mac N cheez. The bun was soft and "buttery" and the breading was nice and crisp while the chicken was soft & moist. I am not good at tolerating spice of any kind, even pepper, so I couldn't do the cabbage and sauce on the bun (scraped it off), but the residual flavor was poppin and I still enjoyed the whole sandwich. Because I took the order to go, the steam/moisture from the container made the fries a little soggy, but I revived them in the air fryer and they were scrumptious. Packed with flavor and the perfect compliment to the sandwich. I have missed eating Mac n' Cheese, and this order absolutely hit the spot. It was super creamy and rich for vegan cheese, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Can't wait to come back for their desserts!!

The service was good! The bathroom smelled disgusting, thankfully I just had to wash my hands but so gross! Let's get to the food! Mostly everything was just too sweet to me! The beans were too sweet, the collard greens too sweet, Mac and cheese had no flavor and the noodles were over cooked. The ribs again, the sauce on them. Too sweet. The fried chicken and food rolls were the best things! I wanted to try the twisted corn on the cob, but they didn't have any! The starry soft drink was disgusting I took 1 sip and didn't drink anymore. Needless to say I will not be back! The best vegan soul food I've ever had in my life and thank goodness to TikTok for sharing this recommendation. The Nanas Soul comes with Plant Based Ribs, Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese and Bussin Baked Beans. When I visited though, the baked beans weren't available so I got an extra side of Mac & Cheese which was delicious. Super flavorful and delicious! Super excited to try more in the future.

Initially I had saved BYOV as a vegan restaurant to try, and drove to this location to find out that it was permanently closed. At first I was disappointed as I eat vegetarian, and love trying new plant-based locations. I began searching my other saved locations, but decided to check out Nana's Kitchen to see what replaced the former BYOV. When I went to Yelp/Google, I was thrilled a vegan place replaced a vegan place. What are the odds! I do have a peanut and almond allergy, so vegan places can be a little tricky to navigate. Wish their website listed better for food allergies as I felt it would inconvenience to ask. I went with what I thought would be safe, and loved their featured menu item. Next time I visit (yes, it's that good for me to drive to Chandler), I will definitely go during an off time to inquire more about the website or may write the restaurant in advance as the soul food plate is calling my name for sure! Great locally owned location that I would suggest any one try, even if they don't eat plant-based as the food was delicious!

My favorite thing I tried here were the lemon pepper wings!! Loved the flavor and the slight crispness of the wings. The collard greens and ribs came in at a close second.

Worst experience since moving from chi....i ordered a philly and a order of greens..i waited over an hour for subpar food...i will never go there again or any of my peoples...just trash

Nana's XL and twisted corn. Not pictured peach cobbler...equally delicious.

This place was fantastic! I'm vegan, but my friend that joined me is not. I've taken her to several vegan places in the few years we've been friends and she said this was her favorite, hands down! She also said it was the best vegan Mac and cheese she's ever had. We will be back! My son loves fried pickles, so I need to bring him here to try them.

The ATL dry rub was probably my favorite of the two wing flavors. It had a ton of flavor without needing any sauce. I also really liked the Mango Habanero BBQ. It had a good mix of sweet and spicy, although I was expecting it to be a little hotter based on the name. The fries were actually my favorite part of the meal. A friend recommended getting the ATL dry rub seasoning added to them and that made them so much better. They give you a pretty big portion too and I would definitely get them the same way again. We got our food to go, but the service was great. Everyone was really nice and they had our order ready surprisingly quick. From what I saw while we were inside, everything seemed really clean as well. Overall ATL Wings is a really good option when you're craving wings. They have a ton of different sauces and dry rubs to choose from and the portions were good. The seasoned fries alone are worth coming back for.

If you're looking for perfectly fried comfort food, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I ordered the Chicken & Fried Shrimp Basket with the standard fries. I could have chosen coleslaw instead, and in hindsight I probably should have since I'm not much of a fry person. But the real star here is the fried food. Both the chicken and shrimp were cooked perfectly--crispy, golden, and packed with crunch in every bite without being greasy. I'm also a huge sauce fan, so I had to sample a few. I tried the ranch, garlic Parmesan, and Nad's Sauce. The clear winner for me was the garlic Parmesan. It was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with both the chicken and the shrimp. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was incredibly friendly, took the time to walk us through the menu, and checked on us several times throughout our meal. Since you order at the counter and then find a seat, that extra attention really stood out and made us feel welcome. Great food, great service, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to!

The lady that helped me out let me know that since I was torn between the Swai and catfish I could do one of each. She was so helpful and sweet, loved her energy! Both of my fish were cooked perfectly and I like the nice crunch to them when I first bit in, both fish were extremely juicy. I do wish that she told me the catfish was going to have a stronger fish taste to it though , I guess they told my brother that when he came in last. I typically don't mind the fishier catfish taste, as I grew up eating catfish, but I will say theirs is a bit stronger than I typically like. Swai was bomb though. I do enjoy the fact that they season the fish after it being fried as well, I think that's a great touch. The shrimp that came with my combo was well battered and seasoned but I personally expected a larger size shrimp, and they were smaller. No worries though. Oh we also really enjoyed the shape of their fries that came with the lunch basket it was interesting. My spouse said he enjoyed the Wings which were pretty generous in size, but he wished he would have gotten them dried instead of wet. He thought the sauce was a bit much. Whatever that means lol All in all great fish and chips, killer music and nice atmosphere.

Hidden Gem in Tempe, Arizona!…read more My sister and I visited this restaurant yesterday, Saturday, August 29, after seeing it featured by a food reviewer on TikTok, and we are SO glad we decided to try it! This newer restaurant is located in Tempe, Arizona, in a shared parking lot next to several other businesses, including Dunkin' Donuts and a sub shop. When we walked in, there was open seating, so we were able to choose our own table. It wasn't crowded at all, which made for a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. The restaurant has only been open for about a year, and from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming. The music was great, the décor was nice, and everyone we encountered was friendly, kind, and down-to-earth. Our waitress, Tam, was absolutely AMAZING! She was personable, attentive, and gave us some really great recommendations on both food and drinks. And let's talk about the HAPPY HOUR! They offer happy hour EVERY DAY from 12 PM-4 PM, including weekends! That was a huge bonus for us because so many restaurants don't offer weekend happy hour. We definitely wanted to take advantage of it since this was our first visit. Here's what we ordered: Belgian Waffle & 3 Fried Chicken Wings -- The waffle came with whipped cream and a strawberry on the side. Delicious! Happy Hour Dance Basket -- $8 -- Fried okra, French fries, and onion rings. We added lemon pepper seasoning on top, and it was SO good! Fried Catfish Basket with Chicken Wings & Fries -- Another great choice! Mocktail -- We were also able to enjoy a complimentary drink because an extra one had been prepared for us, which was such a nice surprise! One of the highlights for us was meeting one of the cooks who was working in the back. The interaction honestly made us feel like we were back home in the Midwest, like one of our own family members was in the kitchen cooking for us. That type of genuine hospitality is hard to find! They are open very late, until 4 AM, which is another great option if you're looking for somewhere to grab food late at night. They also have Soulful Sundays starting at 3 PM, with specials featuring items like jerk chicken, oxtails, and more! Definitely check their website ahead of time for the latest specials, hours, and offerings. Overall, we had such a wonderful first experience. Great food, great service, great music, welcoming people, and reasonable specials. We would LOVE to see a location like this in the West Valley! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

When we entered, we were asked if we were dining in or getting our food to go. Once seated, we were given water and told that the menu could be accessed through the barcode on the table. Shortly afterward, another couple came in, and it quickly became apparent that they were the priority. Their adult beverages, which were ordered separately, were prepared and brought out. When the waiter returned with their second drink, he proceeded to take their food order. Meanwhile, we had been sitting there for 18 minutes with absolutely no further interaction, during a total visit of about 22 minutes. At that point, we decided that the other couple was apparently far more important than we were, so we chose to leave. I hope the food is good--I honestly couldn't tell you because we never got the opportunity to order anything other than the water. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Customer service should be consistent for everyone who walks through the door.
