My friends medium well Burger was very well done . I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich I sent back didnt taste cooked enough... I sent it back and got a grilled chicken to take home. My friend ordered a Cobb salad with oregano didn't have oregano, so the waiter had to go get some and it had not one but two of the end of the heads of lettuce in his salad. Not a great experience, my buddy asked if they had a different cook working to the manager. The food did come pretty quickly. My burger friend said Mcdonalds would have been better. read more

Well this is your typical diner: huge menu, super low prices, oodles of amazing looking desserts, and neon lights galore. I've been told by people in the area that this is the best diner around. The food was good, the home fries were nice and crispy and the only criticism I have is that the blueberry muffin wasn't that good. They've also got free cookies, Hershey kisses, and mints for when you pay before you leave. If you're looking for a decent diner that won't disappoint this would fall under that category. read more

Typical diner experience and feel for the most part. It took a while for us to be to be seated at the table because there wasn't a host or manager around and the lady who takes care of the check payments was with a customer. After 5-10 minutes or so a waiter finally seated us, but other waiters saw us standing around waiting to be seated, and they just kept looking at us and did nothing. Food here is average-- the burgers are good especially since the deluxe burger includes fries and onion rings in addition to cold slaw and a pickle. I got the specialty Avocado burger with jack and cheddar cheese, and my mom got the specialty burger with Canadian bacon and a sunny side up egg. Only con about this restaurant is that the staff is slow to take care of customers with refilling water or getting the check and having food boxed to take home. read more

Came here for a quick bite after a sweet tooth craving last night. I came with a friend who is a regular at this diner and enjoys the food, so decided to give it a shot. Since we came late at night for something sweet, we ordered a short stack of pancakes and a red velvet cheesecake. There were two pretty decently sized pancakes in the short stack and nice sized slice of cheesecake. The pancakes were nice and soft, but not the best I've had. The cheesecake tasted more like raspberry than red velvet, so that was disappointing. But the service was really good; quick and friendly. I've only been there once and we ordered breakfast items but the food went above what I would expect for a diner. First off we were seated right away which was impotant since our first choice for brunch was closed and IHOP had a hugeee wait. The service was super fast--we got coffee refills quickly and the waitress bothered to ask me what kind of fruit i wanted on my pancakes. Western omelette was typical served with okay fries and toast. My short stack (2) pancakes was delcious topped with fresh strawberries and pineapple. The downside was they gave me Smucker's syrup (you can add $1.50 for "real" syrup). The omelette was $6.50 and my short stack was $4.50 + 2.99 for the fruit was may seem steep but I was afraid a diner wouldn't even HAVE fresh fruit. So all in all not the top choice for brunch but it's def above average for a diner read more

I have been eating at the Nautilus for several decades now. It's not haute cuisine, but everything you're looking for in a good full-service diner. The menu is filled with well-priced choices, large and small. I often order the grilled chicken kebab platter and always have a meal's worth to take home. When you want lunch at 10:30 in the morning, dinner at 10:30 in the evening, or breakfast any time, the Nautilus is there. I check in every few weeks. read more

I've been going here forever... I know some people are against this place. I'm not sure why. I think they do certain things really well: burgers, diner stuff, milkshakes, breakfast, turkey clubs, some salads, and fries. Any time that I've had a bad experience or someone else did it was because they ordered the Fish special or Tuna Surprise or something like that. Don't do that. The staff is awesome. Food is above average diner fare. My parents go there a few times a week and they love it. Great soups, try the Matzo ball soup. The owner bakes the deserts right there and all of it is good. I recommend whole heartedly. read more

It is my favorite diner to go to in mamaroneck. The food is really good and they are quick in service. The nacho supremes are my favorite. But I recommend the cheese fries and chicken quesadillas. And since it is open 24 hours it is very convenient and they are open for the majority of the year. read more

I think I found my diner. My hubby loves diners but I've never been a fan. Seems so pedestrian to go out for diner food. He always raved about Thruway Diner, which was and will be again soon in New Roc. I heard a rumor that this place was owned by the same folks. I don't know if it's true, but I thought the food was excellent and it deserves all the raving and ranting (when it closed) from the hubby. Service was sufficient but was spotty. I had heard good things about the Nautilus Diner, so we tried it. I'm a very picky eater when to comes to quality. However, this diner met my high diner expectations. Their turkey sandwiches had very good quality turkey, and the sides were good as well. The cake for dessert was also pretty darn good. I'll definitely be back! read more

My family and I (15 people in all) planned to go to this diner to celebrate my sister's 63rd birthday on 4/6/2019. Reservations were made early afternoon for later that evening as required. We chose this restaurant because we have been going there for a couple of years. We never had any problems before. The service was always very good, and the food was always awesome. I was the first one to arrive at the restaurant. When I arrived, I gave the name the reservation was under to the host. He didn't know what I was talking about. He went and asked the cashier who gave him a piece of paper which I assumed had the reservation information. It was then when they started putting the tables together and setting them. I wasn't sitting their two minutes when a waiter by the name of Louie approached me and asked me if I was there the prior month, I said yes. He proceeded to tell me that he was the one who waited on us and that he was upset and insulted because out of the 14 people that was in our party that day he only received an $8.00 tip, which was left by my nephew. He told me that he complained to the manager and that as a result he will not be splitting the bill this time. I told him that couldn't be possible because we always leave a tip and that I always add a 20% tip to the bill and pay with my credit card. If he didn't receive the tip then he should take that up with the manager. When my youngest sister and her husband arrived, I told them what had happened. They said they added their tip to the bill and paid it with their debit card. While we were waiting for my other sister (the birthday lady) and her family to arrive I called her to find out if she left a tip and she said she left a $30 tip in cash. My sister, her husband and I were not able to remember what we left for a tip, but we had estimated it to be more than $17 based on what we ordered that day. So, in total the tip was around $55, which was based on the total bill for all. My niece, who is the one that is usually in charge of paying the bills and leaving the appropriate tip for her family said that she remembered her mother (the birthday lady) telling her to leave $30 to cover anyone who may have left an insufficient tip. That being said, it's obvious that the $55 tip was a generous tip. During the time that we were all trying to figure how much everyone left for a tip and waiting on the birthday lady to arrive and the remaining guest a total of half-an-hour passed by and not once, did Louie who was supposed to be our waiter again came to our table. We weren't even served a glass of water. When the remaining guest and the birthday lady arrived, we went to the manager and complained to him about what had happened with the waiter Louie. All he did was shake his head yes in agreement to what we were saying, nothing else. I even offered to fax him a copy of my receipt because I knew I had kept a copy of it to reconcile my credit card statement when it arrived. But he told me it wasn't necessary. After that we walked out and went to the New Rochelle Dinner which was very accommodating considering the last-minute reservation. We had an awesome time. The service was fantastic, and the food was awesome. There was a piece of information that Louie didn't tell the manager and that was that on the day in question there was another waiter who attended us because Louie would do a disappearing act from time to time. So, when we needed something it was the other waiter (sorry, don't know his name) that for the most part, we addressed. Perhaps that waiter felt that since he did most of the work he was deserving of the tip. I don't know. I certainly don't want to accuse anyone. But if he did take the $30 cash tip then I don't blame him. He deserved it. This piece of information I told the manager before we left. Not to get the other waiter in trouble, but to let the manager know that Louie was not all that great of a waiter as he may think he is. I have eaten at many restaurants, (domestic and overseas) for over 50 years. In my opinion, this was by far the most unprofessional thing a waiter has ever done. Firstly, a tip is not mandatory, although many restaurants include it in their prices. Secondly, tips are based on the level of service received. Thirdly, if a waiter has a gripe regarding a tip he or she should inform the manager who in turn should address the customer. Finally, a waiter should never confront a customer with arrogance. Hasn't he heard of the saying "The customer is always right"? This time the customer was right. We did leave a tip. What happened to the rest of the tip is for the manger to investigate. There is nothing more humiliating than to have a waiter address you in the manner Louie addressed me, especially while other customers are sitting within hearing distance. That's a waiter with no class! To add insult to injury, management sided with the waiter without investigating the matter first. Shame on everyone involved! read more

I've been coming here for years and have never left disappointed. The matzah ball soup and turkey burger are my personal favorites. It's diner food, so I would never order anything too fancy here- although I have seen people order shrimp linguine and enjoy it. Although the diner is 24 hours, not all food is available after hours. I went at 2.00am and was told that they did not have any soup prepared, so that was pretty sad. But for normal dining hours there is nothing better. Lost my credit card, when I went back to see if it was still there, the lady cashier looked at me as if I had eight head. Then she ignored me for five minutes before asking me "What do you want?" quite rudely. Then she rummaged through one paper filled drawer, pulled out a few other lost cards at random (the drawer was an absolute mess) and said "These are all I have" before throwing them back into the drawer, barely giving me time look for my card.
