An incredibly bizarre service experience. I asked for eggs with cheese. After a very long wait my food finally came and my eggs weren't made with cheese. The server's solution was to give me two cold slices of American cheese on my plate, and then acted offended when I looked at her like she was nuts. Very pleasant, with fans and shaded tables. We had great service. The food was very good, but our overall experience was impacted because there were so many flies surrounding our table when our food arrived, that we could not fully enjoy. Looking to come back. This place is a definite for our next trip. Cool place and great vibe. Sit outside for sure. This is one of those restaurants where the staff works as a team and gets it done for sure. Price point is great for the quality food. I just had the farmers breakfast and all was cooked perfectly. The bacon was just right and the grits were awesome The biscuits look like a corn bread square but there's definite some sour dough in them. We heard really good things about this restaurant and decided to try it for breakfast. I started with a salted caramel nitro cold brew and my partner got a espresso martini. Both were really good. I'd recommend for the nitro cold brew to mix it up just to make sure all the flavor profiles get incorporated into the drink. We then decided to split two different entrées. One was the cinnamon roll and the other was the chicken biscuits and gravy. The cinnamon roll was absolutely delicious and melting your mouth and we even had more than enough left over to have a snack later in the day the chicken and biscuits were also really good. I just needed more gravy to go with it so definitely ask for extra sauce if you get this entrée, the staff was a little slow, but they also only had one waitress to help out outside so hopefully in the next time we go, they can have a little bit more help to attend to the guest. read more

This is our go-to spot for breakfast and brunch on the island. It's simply fantastic with an expansive menu with daily specials. The food is always consistent with excellent portion size and the service is always impeccable. A few must try's are: Cinnamon Roll, Low Country Seafood Omelette, their biscuits, their spicy sausage and more. While we love all the servers we've had there. Tweety has become our personal favorite. He's super personable and engaging and just a fun person to interact with. This place gets my highest recommendation! read more

First visit here since they relocated. One of the best burgers I ever experienced was at their Bluffton location and I was anxious to try the new place. I ordered the fried bologna sandwich because it is a rare menu find and probably some leftover nostalgia from a place I used to go in Wando, Ohio. It was served with some fried potatoes that were cut a little differently than what you usually see. The sandwich and fries were good but diminished by the lukewarm temperature of the food. We have enjoyed this restaurant in Previous visits to HHI. We were excited to return. But it was a disaster. 11:30 on Wednesday. Party of 2. We sat at the bar. We waited no less than 10 mins for someone to take our order. After 30 mins of giving our order we asked for an update...the bartender gave us a snarky answer. We also heard him be rude to several co workers. Our food took 45 mins to come out. And it was wrong. A manager stepped in. She helped get our food out and was very apologetic. We had to take it to go because we had a flight. She did not charge us for our order but we had to throw it away because most of it had been sitting forever and was soaked with grease. The new location is no where near as nice as the bright cheery location near Sea Pines. It's dark and loud. We were sad as we were looking forward to our visit. Won't go back. Being busy during the busy season is no excuse. Just terrible. read more

After reading other reviews I was looking forward to experiencing Nectar. We had reservations and arrived on time. We were seated immediately on the patio, which was cute. At night the patio is downright adorable. It took quite some time before we were asked for our drink order and an even longer amount of time to receive our drinks, which were two draft beers and a bottle of wine so nothing labor intensive. We couldn't help but notice that other tables seated at the same time were now receiving appetizers. The artisanal food plate was elegantly decorated and absolutely delicious, the star of the night. The hush puppies were overcooked, but the deviled eggs were delightful. My fried chicken was hot and flavorful, but dear god, 3X more breading than I would enjoy. My buddies fish meal was cold, but after waiting an hour and a half to eat, she opted to send the meal back and not wait for a replacement. They didn't charge her for the meal, which I appreciated. I should add the restaurant wasn't packed, but they could have been short staffed. I would recommend Nectar for drinks and appetizers at the bar, but I cannot recommend dinner. read more

Decided here for breakfast due to reviews I've seen and some social media videos. We were seated immediately, luckily as this was a Saturday morning. The fleet came in right behind us so we were lucky. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered drinks and then food second time around. Food came out fairly quickly. Everything was really good. The eggs were a bit on the thick side. I can't explain it lol. But it didn't give a cracked scrambled egg as I saw no egg white. I'm not a fan of that. The hash browns were pretty good. And the bacon was great. Thick cut. I did taste the grits which had cheese added and they were great. Didn't have to add a thing. I was told the ham was delicious and flavorful. I would suggest stopping by. Other food that passed by looked great too. Parking was fine as there is a large parking area. read more

Food was a 2 star and the service gained this place an extra star. George saved this review. He was extremely attentive, quick, and professional. The place was clean and nice, great atmosphere- we had high hopes. The she crab soup had too much sherry, the warm spinach salad was not warm. The flounder did not seem like flounder- the flake was different and it was extremely thick. George was gracious enough to let me order something else with no qualms. My husband had the braised short rib and also questioned to ourselves whether it was short rib or pot roast. I order the portabella schnitzel instead and the sauce was weird and spicy. I ended up taking the whole thing home, as I gave up eating an entree here. George came quickly with a take out container and we promptly paid the bill and left. So disappointing read more

Came for brunch and took the servers recommendation on the chicken and waffles. It was delicious! It said it came with spicy sausage and I didn't realize it was inside the waffle but even better. Amazing service. We sat inside for brunch on a Wednesday. I do not believe they take brunch reservations online but it looks like you can make dinner reservations online. The chicken and waffles were the best meal so far on this vacation. The sweet potato biscuit may have been slightly undercooked. I would probably pass on the hush puppies next time but they were still good. The waffles were good as was the sausage , make sure you like maple syrup if ordering waffles. Holy moly, this place is good! The spicy chicken sandwich (yes, it's fried) has so many flavors and textures, I can't even write about them all. Beautifully spicy, a tiny bit sweet (but not much--I don't like sweet), dill pickles--yum! The fry chips are so good too! Cut like a thick chip, but cooked like a fry and perfectly salted. Should one come to the beach and expect to find quality Southern cooking? Maybe, maybe not. But fried chicken and collard greens and skillet fried cornbread are always a must. And the beach is no exception. Thus, I found Nectar in my Yelp search and knew I would be making a visit. I will mention that I loved their outdoor seating area, just secluded away enough that you don't feel like you're right by a major road or the parking lot (though you are near both). Though if weather did not permit, there is more than enough indoor seating for a individual-couple-group. When I commit, I commit. And the half fried chicken, with two sides was that commitment. I knew I might have regrets, but the joy of tasting that delicious meal would not be one of them. And yes, I knew I would still order dessert. I love for food to be of quality, but I also hold a high standard in regards to presentation. Plating is a art form in and of itself. Here, they check all the boxes. Each item comes out perfectly framed and set as if they are daring you not to take a photo (which inevitably someone will). Everything was cooked to perfection. And that is coming from someone who grew up eating fried chicken that went from raw to egg bath to flour breading to Crisco in a skillet. There were no shortcuts in that house. I topped it off (though honestly I was already topped off) with banna pudding. Also delicious. I stumbled my way to the car, as the food coma was setting in. We really enjoyed our dinner at Nectar. The place has a cool, almost upscale diner feel. I started with the Georgia Collins and my wife had the lavender lemonade mocktail, both were great. The deviled eggs with orange marmalade were a favorite. We didn't have a reservation and got in fine, but I'd recommend one when it's busy. We had the crab cake dinner and the surf and turf trio. Everything came out looking nice and tasted good, though the steak was a little heavy on seasoning. Service stayed friendly even after we got switched to a new server. Ended with the apple cinnamon (seasonal flavors) bread pudding with ice cream on top, which hit the spot. Strong drinks, good food, and a relaxed, enjoyable time. read more

Mixed review on this place. I started with a Bloody Mary from the bar. Great drink and great service. They have three versions which is cool and a bit unique. The place was full but not too crowded so I was surprised that service was a bit spotty. The food came out quick but the guy delivering it sort of threw the plates down. I don't even know if he realized how impolite it was. The waitress was very friendly when we saw her. Not sure what was going on. Okay to the food. I personally love duck so I got the duck hash. I probably should have sent it back but just did not feel like dealing with it. The duck was gamey and it came off like it was prepared days before. Now we also had the huevos rancheros and it was outstanding. I did have them add the sausage on the side as well as some avocado. I have to say one of the best I have had in recent history. So to sum it up a tail of two experiences. Bloody Mary's and huevos rancheros outstanding. Duck hash and service could have been better. read more

We came to Hilton head from Virginia and were looking for something good to eat. This place was it for us. The ambiance was really warm and inviting. Breakfast Lunch, Dinner, you can't go wrong. The Baked goat cheese dip was 15/10, hush puppies were crisp with a warm center. Cheddar burger was everything and more. My kids had the kid Mac and cheese and that was a generous portion for the kids menu. And then the breakfast sandwich was great as well! Sooooo.. the wife and myself have been sleeping on this place. We have been innBeaufort, SC since 2021 and while am not sure how long this restaurant has been operating, I am mad that it took us this long to dine here. The food was perfect . The devil eggs were delicious as well as the grits. The service was great and the ambiance of the place was cozy (lighting, sound, decor, etc..). SERG's new Nectar location is a sure bet for success. We stopped in day 3 for brunch at the bar and loved it. Service was superb as was our cocktails, soups, and sandwiches. The She Crab and Chicken Pot Pie soups were hot and chock full of flavors. The Dave Breakfast sandwich was hot and delicious - same for their Nectar Cheddar Burger. A great set up with indoor and outdoor tables. The menu is broad and tries to elevate itself above typical American southern food with offerings like ahi tuna. However, they served my kids raw chicken...and the manager seemed embarrassed but then the server left the meal on our check. We had it removed but overall it's hard to trust somewhere that gave your child raw food given the inherent health risks. Ruins your appetite a bit. We had an absolutely fantastic breakfast and I can't say enough good things about it. My kids were in heaven from the moment we sat down. The staff treated them like VIPs--warm, patient, and genuinely friendly--which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable for all of us. The food was outstanding. The omelettes were some of the best we've had anywhere--perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and clearly made with care. But the star of the show for my kids was the massive sticky bun. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the size of my kid's head. They talked about it the entire ride home. Between the great service, the fun atmosphere, and the incredible food, Lecture Nectar has officially earned a spot on our "must-return" list. Ate here twice in three days. They have the best coffee! Service was great even though they were busy. We both ordered the Low Country Sea Omelette the first day. I almost ordered it a second time. Instead I had Deviled Crab Benedict. Our server suggested I have the hot sauce on the side. That was good because I only dipped the ends of my fork times in the hot sauce and it was more than enough heat for every other bite. My wife had the fried chicken and waffle. Visited early Sunday for breakfast on our way home. Party of 5 - 4 adults and 1 child. We weren't offered a child's menu, asked for one and finally had to go back to the hostess to get it ourselves. The food was amazing. Loved all our dishes. The decor is lovely and the outdoor seating area is perfect for HHI. We give this a 5 for food and mood. Most of our party drinks water everywhere. It's tough enough to get a refill, but when the glass is small - it's impossible. We finally received a water carafe for our refills - pro tip- ask for one at the beginning. The service was the worst we've had on the island. We can only hope the server was new to this type of service Job. We would give the service a 2. It took forever to be served and to place our order. Tables who were seated after us in her area were served first and orders were placed before we had the chance. Our kids meal was incorrect and the runner disappeared so quickly, we didn't have the chance to refuse it. We improvised with what we had, but making a hungry 8 year old wait is tough on everyone. A manager came by and did comp the incorrect food. Don't know if the server knew that or not, she didn't offer. Hopefully our experience was just a one off.
