As a Nespresso fan who drinks it almost every day, this experience honestly made me question whether I want to keep using Nespresso. All I wanted was to buy a single sleeve of pods to take home so I could use my machine the next morning. Instead, I was told the only way to purchase a sleeve was to wait for 25 minutes to speak with a coffee specialist. I didn't need a coffee specialist... I already knew exactly what I wanted. I just wanted to buy it and leave the mall. When I explained that, I was told, "You have to wait like any other store." One of the main reasons I use Nespresso is because it's convenient. Unfortunately, this experience was the exact opposite. A simple purchase became a long wait for no reason, and now I'm going into tomorrow morning without any coffee because I couldn't just buy the product I came in for. I hope Nespresso rethinks this policy. Customers who know what they want should be able to make a quick purchase without having to wait for a consultation. read more

I want to start off by saying that Kensley was amazing when helping me out! I had just bought a nespresso at Costco and wanted to visit this boutique. At first I went in hesitant because of the reviews but there was no bad experience from start to finish. Not sure why there's negative reviews because everyone around me looked happy with their service. So definitely don't listen to the negative critics and go in with a positive mindset! I would not recommend this location at all due to its poor customer service and lack of organization or direction. It seems like no one wants to help you but they are quick to point out what you're doing wrong. If you can go to the Newport Fashion Island store, I would highly recommend that. I went to drop off my used pods and to repurchase. I usually go to the fashion island store but had errands to run at south coast plaza so thought it would be easier to do my errand at this location. Upon arrival, I go wait in line to check in with the worker with the iPad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The layout of this store is unique and doesn't have the best flow so I figured this is the best place to start.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She pauses the customer she is currently helping to tell me to go drop off my pods at a different area by the coffee bar. When I go over there, two workers are chatting and only say to have a good day after I drop off the pods. I mention that I'm looking to repurchase and they then tell me to go back over to the check in person so I have to get in line again. After I check in, the worker lets me know that I can try a sample. I go over to the sample bar and start to make myself a drink. A worker then comes over to me telling me that I'm contaminating the bar by making a sample and that she needs to be making it despite a worker not being over there and the other worker telling me to help myself. The worker that said I was contaminating the sample bar then explains that theirs is not self service like other locations but she ends up making me a sample. I explain my frustration to this worker at the moment that I feel as though I'm being bounced around without a lot of direction from the workers. I wait a couple minutes and I'm helped by another worker to purchase. She interrupts my service to assist another customer who was lost with the program as well. I will say this experience made me never want to come to this location again. So much so, I was sold on doing a reoccurring delivery of my pod purchase so I don't have to experience this frustration again. read more

Went in to drop off used pods for recycling as these stores offer this service. Was immediately greeted by two friendly associates whom helped me immediately. I've only owned a Nespresso machine since late December and had ordered from Amazon up until now. I started speaking with another associate, Sarah, who was very helpful in recommending so choices based up my flavor preferences and strength in coffee I like. Went an iced coffee option for first time, four double espresso options and a flavor "Mexico" for full cup coffee. Sarah was also helpful with answering questions about my online account and also recommended and lavender vanilla coffee that was available for sample. All in all I had a very pleasant first experience and will be coming back here for sure! Was sent home with self addressed postage recycled bags for future pods that can be dropped off at UPS store which is more convenient for me. read more

When I arrived, I had some difficulty finding the Nespresso Boutique at Bloomingdale's. However, an employee was able to point me in the right direction. The staff that greeted me was friendly and informative. He quickly offered me a complimentary coffee of one of their holiday flavors. It was delicious. It was pretty busy for a weekday morning but the staff was efficient and work quickly to get to every customer. When I was being helped I felt like I was cared for and the staff member even informed me about their descaling capsules which I was sure to add to my cart. Since I bought 10 sleeves, I was given a complimentary capsule holder. Great experience and helpful to have close to home! read more

Some serious tales of woe in the review section but all three visits here have been overwhelmingly positive. My wife and I normally grab the samples first and we do appreciate the upscale offerings (with milk) in caffeinated and also decaf varieties. Having ordered all sorts of Nespresso line pods- Peets, Starbucks, Illy, no name Amazon brands etc we usually return back to Nespresso branded pods for taste and freshness. There are normally flavors in store that we can't find online at Amazon- so buying it here is a plus. Service has always been friendly and accommodating. This place is a joke. The guy with the iPad looks like he's taking restaurant orders but doesn't bother helping anyone at the door. So, we're left guessing how to grab some coffee pods. While browsing through the capsules, a staff member rudely told me, "I need this table; I have my customers over," and chased me away without further explanation. Mind you, I'm a customer too. When I stood in a sort of line, the iPad guy didn't approach me again, so I had to go to him instead. He then told me the wait would be about 15-20 minutes, even though there was only one lady in line ahead of me. Wait 20 minutes for coffee capsules? Seriously? I left empty-handed, wondering: was this system designed by someone who thinks their coffee is so special we'll waste our lives for it? Or just someone completely clueless about time management? Luxury? Please. The iPad guy loiters, The staff seemed unfriendly and unwelcoming. Only the tall young guy was friendly and helpful, but he was clearly overwhelmed. Was walking around Bloomingdale's and saw this boutique, my husband and I own a breville and normally go to Sur La Table and shop there. Each time we are offered a tasting for coffee and shown how to use the machines no purchase necessary however we usually do and they are super kind. It was our first time encountering this store and has never tried a nespresso, so I excitedly walked over to see what the hype about nespresso was about and could use a lil caffeine kick while we were shopping. The man working was so rude and immediately questioned which machine we were looking to get and was not accommodating at all. He was honestly letting us know if you aren't going to buy something leave. You aren't getting a sample of coffee, don't waste my time. We are the type that if something is good enough and it's easy to use we will buy it. But we appreciate a good experience. Had he walked us though and allowed us to taste and sell us the product, we probably would have bought one as my husband and I are building a home together currently. The sales persons attitude was so rude and it honestly left us feeling awkward. My husband says let's just go. Mind you the store was empty. This NEWspresso location is a nice upgrade from the old one! Running low on coffee capsules, I decided to head to the boutique inside Bloomingdale's to purchase more sleeves. Went down to the lower level and saw the counter wasn't there anymore (it's been a while since my last visit). An associate then told me they relocated to the corner of the store, near the entrance that opens up into the mall (Sephora, Gucci). The redesigned layout has multiple smaller counters so that they can assist many customers at once. The traffic flows better and the staff interactions feel more personal. The previous counter design was not very efficient because you had people crowding around one table looking at pods, tasting samples, making purchases etc. and the lines would get backed up all the time. It wasn't too busy when I came, was in and out within a couple of minutes. If you have used capsules go ahead and recycle them here! Only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was the complimentary coffee cup I got. Won't complain too much since it was free, but wow the Roasted Hazelnut flavor I tried tasted burnt. I don't normally throw away drinks... that one went straight in the trash after I took a sip and my picture. It's much more convenient to order online and have it shipped to your front door. But if you happen to be running around South Coast Plaza, it doesn't hurt to stop by to sample flavors before making a purchase! read more

Once we arrived we were greeted by a worker who offered us 3 flavors that they were currently sampling. It was a nice gesture. The samples were piping hot. The guy who helped us...didn't really help us. I explained we didn't know what to get bc it was our first Nespresso machine and we just tried a few samples that came with it. I felt like I had to keep probing for him to give us some input. He honestly seemed like he didn't care. Maybe I just expected the workers to be like connoisseurs and give a little run down of the flavors since it's an actual Nespresso store but that wasn't my experience. I was better off reading the descriptions of the flavors online. At least they had a buy 5 get one free deal and we saved on shipping. read more

Truly hated every moment here. Its too much. Why do I need to be checked in to pick up some fing coffee pods? Theres like 5 people walking around with iPads. Like what are these people getting paid for. Just put these people behind a register with a menu on the wall and call it a day. I attempted to have boutique pickup at this store by ordering on the Nespresso iOS app. At checkout, I couldn't get the locator to find ANY store at all, so I just had them just shipped to my home. They arrived within 48 hours, way quicker than expected. I knew I'd just pop in with my pods to recycle at my convenience. I dealt with a pretty rude lady giving samples out when attempting to simply recycle my used pods with my kids. I only go to this store to save me a drive to Fashion Island if for any reason I got too low on pods shipped to my home. I've had enough of this store. In the last 3 days I've come twice to try to purchase coffee for my beloved machine. Saturday oct 8 I waited in line and as I approached the female employee in my first photo she blurted "what?" I responded by asking what they are sampling she said "coffee". Of course but what kind, can I try? She responded with "are you going to buy coffee or just sample?" So rude. She had no interest in helping me. The customer in front of me literally said I'm just here to sample, took her coffee and left. The employee was 10x nicer to her. So why am I getting attitude from you from an actual paying customer? I decided to try 2 days later, today oct 10. I waited in line, approached the bar at my turn, the female employee in my second photo ignored me, walked away. Then just started helping the customer behind me. WTF. She then proceeded to bring that customer to the bar I was standing at and told me to step away so she could help the person behind me. What is the point of your line if your employees ignore it. I literally said nothing so what are they prejudices against? I am absolutely angry at your employees. After spending much time with customer service on the phone I was told to go back to the boutique, not super close or convenient, but I did. They were very apologetic and handled it immediately, as I said my beef wasn't with the boutique it was the customer service phone support.
