It's a little confusing on how to order if you've never been here before. There is a huge menu on the wall but paper menus right by the door. There is a grab and go area for salads, sandwiches, cakes, and sides to the left as you walk in. You order at the front- they give you a number and you place it on your table and wait for the food to be brought out. It gets REALLY busy during lunch and the first 2 times I went it was difficult finding a seat. It's never been a long wait for food though. I've noticed a lot of people call their orders in and take it to go. They have sandwiches, salads, artisan pizzas, soups, and sides to choose from. I've had a sandwich from here once but it wasn't memorable- it was something with chicken. The first time I came I tried the mac & cheese. I was not impressed and let down. I recently ordered it again hoping it was just a fluke that day but it really isn't worth the $4.45. The Black & Bleu salad is delicious! From the menu it says it comes with: Medium-rare, flame-grilled, sliced petite tenderloin steak, mixed greens, gorgonzola cheese, pecans, grape tomatoes, red onion with creamy bleu cheese on the side for $9.79 It's so good and there's so much of it that you can really feed 2. I've also tried the sausage and pepperoni pizza which was tasty. I have yet to try their cakes but it's tempting every time I stop in. There's a complimentary condiment bar that has bread sticks, cheese, croutons, peppers, jalapenos, garlic, pickles, capers, and hot sauce (I might be forgetting something). The manager is so nice he helped me order because I wanted 1/2 sandwich with pasta on the side and he worked it out even though it wasn't on the menu. Being first timers it would have been nice for a little direction upon walking in. There were several people in the lobby with some looking at the menu on the wall and others seeming to be standing in line. I had to go to the cashier and ask if we were supposed to order then sit down, which is what you are to do. We took a bit to look over the paper menu because we didn't want to be in the crowd gathered at the wall. This could be made more efficient in my opinion. Now for the food... all delicious and large portions. A cup of soup is more like a bowl and the bowl of soup is very large. All sandwiches were very good, pork q, newk's q and grilled chicken. Newk's has a Fresh 2 Order feel to it by being a fast option, but with a traditional restaurant feel to it. This location is deceiving considering where it is in the plaza anchoring Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls. We would have passed right by it had we not seen the crowd on Sunday. I had the Ahi Tuna Sandwhich and yes - it was on point. Wifey had the Lobster Bisque and a side salad and everything was good. I wanted to be greedy and have a slice of the coconut cake, but that wouldn't have been good for a Sunday. The service was good as that guys would come by and check up and even clear our table. Went here the other night. The lady at the counter was super sweet and switched avocados for the cheese in my black and bleu salad when I said I was dairy free. I sat down and realized I didn't say to switch the dressing even though I made a no dairy comment I raced back to the back and tried to tell the lady to change the dressing due to my allergy. She did not understand me but a kind manager translated for me. She gave a very obvious eye roll and changed the salad. Although I was put off by this gesture, the salad was delicious and the other workers were delightful. The salad I highly recommend- large, very green, fresh. My first visit in. Wow! Seeing that they had a massive pitcher of Sweet Tea with Splenda made me so happy!!! Let me first start off by saying I dig the Newk's concept. I've eaten a other locations before. Food is great, not too expensive. I dig the condiment bar with the bread and butter pickles and the roasted garlic... yum! Today, I ordered a Ultimate Salad online so I could simply grab and go during my lunch break. This was my first time ordering online so I was a little apprehensive, but I gave it a shot. The pick-up process was quick and painless. I was inside the restaurant no more than a couple of minutes. The disappointment came when I sat at my desk and unraveled my lunch. The salad was missing several key ingredients that made it the "Ultimate Salad" - No bacon and no croutons. Come on... You don't skimp out a man's bacon! I'll give them some slack though. This location isn't even a month old. They probably have some kinks to iron out as a new business. I'm pretty sure my rating will change over time. However, for now I think it's best management is aware of these issues and perhaps employ procedures to prevent stuff like this from happening. Came here on a Saturday afternoon after checking out furniture in the area. A relatively newly opened joint, there was a surprisingly large number of people there at an off time. Anyway, we ordered the shrimp pizza and 6 cheese mac & cheese with pimento. I have to say we were really impressed! The mac & cheese was almost too cheesy even and to me that's a good thing. Wish the pimento flavor was more pronounced but it didn't really matter that much. But the pizza was really good! One of the best shrimp pizzas we have ever had.. It's cool that they have a grab and go counter too! For lunch, they have combos available that would be best for working lunches. Newk's has been in the back of my mind for a while now, mostly due to when one of my coworkers reading the menu about how they have a three cheese mac and cheese dish. Maybe it was because I built it up in my head, or maybe I'm a bit of a mac and cheese snob... It was way over-cooked; the noodles were squishy. As for the cheese? It tasted more like cream. Cheese has a very distinctive taste, and this didn't really taste like cheese at all, but it was extremely creamy, so I'm guessing maybe they were a bit heavy handed with the cream. I've been here many times. It was one of my lunch time faves. That has changed. I always order the cobb salad and I sub the protein for salmon. The last time I got the salad the eggs were frozen. I thought they were fresh. It took 20 mins for them to thaw. The salmon was grossly overcooked and tasted like salmon jerky. Also, the toppings were scarce. Again, I've been here many times. Cobb salad was a disappointment. I asked for extra bacon, definitely didn't get it, and what I did get was fatty and limp, not crispy at all. Chicken wasn't pieces of chicken, more like pieces of deli meat, and the croutons were so huge they were hard to eat. The red velvet cake was dry and the icing had little flavor except for "sugar." Went for lunch, it was very busy! I went for a to go order. But they had several people at the counter ready to take orders and happy to assist with any questions on the menu.. I ordered my sandwich with specific toppings I didn't want (I got the club) and the pasta salad. I waited for about 6 minutes and the manager brought out my food making going over my order before I left! (Nice touch). I got back to my office and took my 1st bite. It was gooey (from the cheese), warm, fresh, and delicious. I tried the pasta salad and it was a bit oily....That is the reason for the knock. All in all... Great, quick, lunch spot! This Newk's Eatery is fairly new, not quite a year old. If you're familiar with the Perimeter Mall area, you know that the lunch traffic gets bad. So just like any other lunch establishments in the area, I recommend getting there early OR you can order online. I'm not sure if they do delivery. The best way I can describe this place is that it feels like Jason's Deli meets Panera, so fast-casual. Order and pay up front, and then you take a number to find seating. The restaurant fills up pretty quickly, but you do get your food pretty promptly. I had the basil pesto pasta and added salmon. Unfortunately, they don't do half-portions for the pasta, but it was tasty. Lots of flavor and lots of feta in here, and a single portion is more than plenty especially if you get a protein. You have the option of adding shrimp, chicken or salmon. It's a little more expensive than Jason's Deli, but it feels nicer and a little less crowded. Oh, and it's closer to my office, so I can foresee myself coming out here more often if I have the time. read more

Extremely DO NOT recommend the pasta salad. The taste left a horrid aroma in your mouth. It was exceptionally dry and rancid. Also to add to this list the bathrooms of this restaurant were unacceptable. The stall that me and my friend were in didn't even have a lock. I find it highly inappropriate that this restaurant doesn't include locks in the bathrooms.How ever the Mac and cheese was so exquisite and juicy. Great lunch spot. I work our next door at One Life fitness and stop here after and get the same thing every time... the avocado and shrimp salad!! SO delicious! I took away a star bc I'm big on customer service and the last few times my experience with the cashiers taking my order was just average. Today, for example, I felt rushed and there was no one even behind me! Came here for lunch today and the food is always good and fast. My only complaint is that they need to hire friendly staff. The host today with the pink hair was unbelievably rude, I walked in said hi how are you and she says " what do you want " wouldn't even directly answer my question on the menu was just being rude for no reason. I went here for the first time yesterday. I had a sandwich and soup, and so did my wife. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Some places talk a lot about "flavor," but this place really delivers. The staffers were also very friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and warm. We also had a slice of red velvet cake, which was moist, sweet, and satisfying. I noticed a lot of Yelpers comment on the salad, so I want to come back some time and try the salad. My wife like the soup, but she prefers soup that is served very hot (like boiling hot), and they don't seem to do that here...or anywhere, for that matter. read more

I liked what I ordered, especially the pimento mac and cheese, but right after I finished eating I got a migraine, which usually only happens when there are some serious preservatives in the food I just consumed. First, it was myself, daughter and her friend and friends mom. I ordered the pick 2- Loaded Potato soup and Turkey Avocado sandwich. Daughter had pick 2- pepperoni pizza and 5 cheese mac n cheese. Second, I had 2 email promo codes... one for joining (free slice of cake), and one for my birthday (free entree and drink)... so my total was $13 for my daughter's meal and drink. Last, didn't take pics , food was pretty good. Perfect portions. Pizza was slightly larger than a personal... maybe about 7ish inches?... The people close to us had a salad and it looked yummy... kept staring at their food...oops. there is a complimentary area with croutons, shredded Parma, jalapenos, bread n butter pickles, shredded cabbage (pickled fresh), bread stick packs, crackers, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, etc. Drinks were coke products, teas, lemonades, water, coffee. Italian sandwich that was raved about and suggested by a friend brought me here. We made a last minute, right before closing run on the place and I was impressed that the staff wasn't bothered at all. Very friendly group of folks. I grabbed their Italian sammich and a cup of turkey chili. Wasn't terribly thrilled with the chili but I did have it after the amazing Italian so expectations were huge. I highly recommend this visiting here, the food is good, the atmosphere is casual/pleasant, and the staff is very accommodating. Oh and definitely try their sandwiches!
