Absolutely blown away by the catering experience my company had! We often order lunches for corporate events, and more often than not end up feeling disappointed with the portion sizes or flavor. This was not the case with Newk's- we ordered a large sandwich platter with chicken bacon clubs, italian rolls, Newk's clubs, pesto chicken, and turkey avocado. These were AMAAAAZING! We also ordered mac and cheese, which did not LOOK like it would be good, but it was crazy addictive and everyone loved it. Management is a wreck. They want you to pick around moldy produce and use the produce that doesn't have visual mold on it. They ask for your availability and you give it to them. Then they deny it as if your availability is incorrect, and instead of working around it they schedule you what they want to and if you have a problem with it then they will threaten your job. The GM talks trash about the owners and their staff. No one currently working there is happy. Multiple employees have told me they feel forced to do most things, and they do it for the fear of losing their job. They will hire you for FOH, BOH, or sandwich, and then when you get there throw you on pizza without any help or training because "we're short staffed." I was told that my productivity was low after disclosing I have a disability and had my job threatened 3 days in a row. Even though that was nobodys business but HR. After they found out about my disability my work schedule went from 42.5 hours/week to 20 something hours/week. Seems retaliatory to me that's exactly why I didn't disclose it during the hiring process. The only reason I told them was because they wanted me to perform a job that I no longer could, and the GM asked me why can't I? I told her I have a disability and she said get a doctors note so I did. Then I was punished for it. I wasn't able to contact HR because they don't have the HR persons contact information listed anywhere available to employees. The managers are also all not on the same page you'll have one telling you to do one thing and another one telling you to do something else. There has already been a manager fired for quid pro quo offering employees more hours if they sleep with them in return. I told the GM that something was going on with him and she told the owners she knew nothing about it which was a complete lie. read more

First time at this location. I usually go to the one in Turkey Creek. I had the Southern salad and asked for a spicy dressing. They gave me spiced brown mustard. This is the mustard for a sandwich, mind you and not for a salad. I was there around 12:30 on a Monday and they weren't very busy at all. Finding a place to sit was hard. There were more tables needing to be bussed and cleaned up than I think were clean and available. Our server never came back to see how our meals were and quite frankly, I never saw him, or another one in our area. Luckily, I was able to use up the remaining dressing from my friends salad, because needless to say, mustard as a salad dressing just does not cut it. read more

Excellent lunch option. Great salads! They have an ahi tuna salad that I get really excited about, because they're generally hard to find. There's a condiment bar in the middle of the restaurant, so if you're eating in, you can customize your salad or dish with pickles, peppers, sauces, etc. They also have thin, crunchy pre-wrapped breadsticks that are available free of charge, but if you're counting calories, I'd skip these. I wasn't impressed, especially considering the carb intake. My one qualm is the dressing. After reading other reviews, I ask for my dressing on the side, but I'm not impressed with the "ginger dressing" that comes with the ahi tuna salad. Either it is really poorly executed dressing or they keep giving me the wrong vinaigrette, because there's nothing "ginger" about it. I'm going to try to get to the bottom of this next time I go. First and probably last time at newks. I got a salad to eat in house. newks favorite. Glad it's somebody's because it's not mine. Huge portion of lettuce. 2 artichoke hearts. One big slice of deli turkey and a few cranberries and nuts. I also got a sandwich to go. The royal I think. Meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and spicy mustard. I didn't taste anything but meat. I wasn't impressed. My daughter had the chicken pesto sandwich and tomato basil soup. Her boyfriend had a sandwich and the pepper jack crawfish soup. They liked theirs and he loves the condiment bar. Crackers, pickles etc. The boy taking orders was not happy to be there. All the tea containers were empty. Ten people tried to get tea while we were there and even though they were told more than once, no one refilled any of it. I was not impressed. read more

I asked her if it was 7 and she agreed that it was only 630 and she they usually stop accepting dine in customers at 630 but we were oj and just made it. Great little grub place with a nice menu with plenty of options. This is a order and seat yourself and they drop off your food type of place. I like this aspect and it's starting to become more of the norm. I have had a few things off the menu and they have all been super yummy. Kale soup Corn chowder Club sammy Mac n cheese Just to name a few. I loved them all. Great flavor! Good portion size. I like places that don't over do it on portion size. Great staff and we enjoy it! We had sandwiches/salads delivered here for our meeting. The salads are HUGE!!! Take up the entire box! It looked like people were hardly making a dent in theirs. I had the club sandwich on sourdough, and the bread did not seem like the SF sourdough bread I was used to. More like plain white bread. Lots of filling, but nothing that was WOW. This is my favorite "fast" salad/sandwich/etc. place. I think it has more flavor and excitement than most sandwich chains. I get the chicken ceasar salad almost every time that I go here. The dressing is somewhat spicy and very good. I also love the Debra pizza, Ultimate and Favorite Salad, Sausage pizza, Roast Beef sandwich, and broccoli soup. I'm here about once a month but more frequent when i have guests visiting. It's pretty consistent. What I like about Newks- pizza crust is good, never over-cooked into a cracker. Plenty of options on salad, pizza and sandwiches. What I don't like, not enough vegetarian options. I'm not vegetarian but I like to keep meat intake to around 10-15pct of my diet. Also, the salads are always soggy wet with dressing. Whoever gave the idea that salads are about the dressing? The dressing is what you use to make kids like it better. Dressing should only enhance, should never pool in the bowl. I don't like dressing on the side unless kitchen will give me equipment to toss the salad myself but then i may as well stay home. I enjoy the freshness of the food here but I will almost always order pizza as it's the right size and flavors and textures are good. Salad is always overdressed so rarely do i get one. Sandwiches are okay but lots of meat, no veggie options. I am glad to have a Newks and I would rate it a 5 if not for a few glaring issues. Pizza saves it for me. In the past this has been my go to place for office lunch meetings. Today, I didn't have a great experience. Order wasn't ready when promised and staff seemed unbothered but failing to prepare food in timely ma'am we. Once we did receive our food it was all as expected....nothing spectacular but good portions, meals prepared as requested and I appreciated each meal being placed in separate bag. This location has gone to complete crap. It used to be our favorite location. But in the past year or so, they have turned over their staff. It is not kept clean, they are extremely slow and often rude. Plan on your "fast service" meal taking an hour or more. Skip this location and go to the Turkey Creek restaurant instead. Maybe the oldest salad of all time. I ordered the arugula and avocado sprimp salad. They said they didn't have arugula but they had romain. I said sure, but was shocked when they used very very old romain and lots of white brown edged iceberg lettuce. You can tell it had been days old. The shrimp were old and off color. I was a Newk's fan from the first sandwich! I first had it when Newk's catered one of our lunches at work for all the staff. This is a trendy, bit upscale sandwich / salad shop. You go in and order at the register, whether you are taking-out or eating in and then choose a place to sit if you are staying. Very roomy, great decor. The staff are very friendly and informative about the menu. Since my husband can't eat nuts they knew right away what he can / can't have. The wheat berry bread for the cold sandwiches is delicious! Their hot sandwiches are to die for and very filling. We could nearly split a sandwich and be very satisfied. All their sandwiches come with a side of chips or fruit or get a salad or soup for an upcharge. They have 3 or 4 different soups each day. Their Sunday soups includes a thick and delicious Lobster Bisque. YUM! There is a center console where you can dress up your sandwich, get bread sticks, put cheese on soup, and more. There is also a grab-N-go area if you are in a hurry. You will have to wait longer than a sub shop would take, but only about 10 minutes for your food to arrive. They come to your table if you are eating in and clean up the table when you leave. After we are done ordering, we end up spending the same amount as a sub shop where we don't even get a side of fruit. This is definitely our new sandwich shop restaurant. Nice place. We walked in with a group of eight and were immediately greeted. The menu was a little overwhelming, but everyone in our group was able to find something good. I had the grilled chicken pesto sandwich with gouda and bell peppers, and a side of fruit, and it was all great. The food came out fast, which was surprising considering how many people were in the restaurant and how busy it appeared. In all honesty, I really didn't think much of this place when looking at it from the outside, however there is a great lunch atmosphere, the staff is incredibly friendly, and they did all the little things well, which was really refreshing. Awesome Soup!!!!!! I visit this location pretty regularly, probably 2-3 times a month at least. I have a little of an obsession with the lobster crab bisque and the chicken tortilla soups! But every soup I've ever ordered was excellent. Everyone had they're favorites. The Italian, Steak, and Newk Q sandwiches are also amazing! If you catch it in w season you have to try the Cuban, so simple and so good! Overall they have great flavors, great service and always serve fresh delicious food fast. Makes a great lunch or dinner and their variety is top notch. The facility is always kept clean even when it's crazy busy and the employees act as a serving staff clearing the table and making sure you have everything you need to make your experience the best it can possibly be. I am obsessed with this place for lunch! I usually go about 3 times a week. Everything I have tried has been amazing except for one thing (i'll get to that). My favorites include The Ultimate Salad with honey mustard, the lobster crab bisque, the roast beef sandwich, the turkey or ham sandwiches, the pizza, the tomato soup, I could go on and on. Best of all, the service is always phenomenal! The one time I ordered something I did not like was when I ordered the shrimp arugula salad. It wasn't Newks fault that I did not like it, I actually just learned I don't care for arugula. The dressing wasn't my taste either. But when the manager saw that I was not enjoying my meal, she quickly made me something else at no charge. My wife loves Newk's, so we went one Saturday. I had tomato bisque and a turkey sandwich. Both were excellent. The sandwich is served warm, the bread is great, and the turkey actually has roasted flavor. I'm not a huge fan of leaving condiments and sandwich toppings sitting out for people to pick through, but the station was clean and well-kept, so I can deal with it. My coworker recommended Newks and I loved the name! Initially I was in the mood for a Salad but after reviewing the menu I opted for a sandwich. The turkey sandwich came on some of the best French bread I've ever had. I actually don't care for French bread because it always seems stale but Newks was clearly fresh out of the oven! I'll ask for extra mustard next time but it was a filling a delicious lunch! It came with a side which I got pasta salad and it was standard. Plus was that it doesn't have any of that dehydrated veggie crap or obnoxious broccoli florets put in it. Wasn't a huge portion but seriously, the sandwich was enough for 2 people so the side portion was fine with me, though I would recommend getting an extra side if you plan to split the sandwich with someone. Price for sandwich and side only was under $8 - a great price. I ordered online and picked it up from a friendly staff member. Parking at mid-lunch hour was challenging, just fyi. read more
