    Bun Bo Hue
    Allen L.

It's one of the more well known spots for Bun Bo Hue which is what I came here for. If this was in NYC, it would probably be the best spot out there but considering it's in a dense Vietnamese locale of the OC, I've had better. I did love all the meats, and especially appreciate that the pig trotter was fall off the bone tender. I also loved all the fresh veggies and herbs. But one of the most important parts of the dish, which is the broth felt a little lacking. It could have been a bit more rich and more lemongrass forward. Overall, it was still a pretty good bowl. They do have several other dishes popular dishes I didn't get, so next time I'll skip the BBH and try those instead.

We came here on a whim and were so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming. Since it was our first visit, she was very patient with us and took the time to answer our questions. We ended up sitting on the patio since the wait for an indoor table was about 45 minutes, and it turned out to be a great spot. Their menu has so many Vietnamese dishes that we wanted to try, but we decided on the mango squid salad, coconut escargot, and chicken wings. Every dish was flavorful and delicious, and it definitely left us wanting to come back to try more. Overall, we had a great first experience. I'd absolutely come back and bring my family next time. If you're thinking about trying this place, it's definitely worth a visit.

    Banh it ram--worth the hype!

9/10. I came specifically for the viral bánh ít. TikTok recommendations can be hit-or-miss, but this was a hit. It was the perfect combination of crispy, chewy, savory, and fresh flavors and textures. Wish it had a bit more meat filling, but it was carb maxxing in the best way possible! I recommend ordering ahead on their website, as it takes 15-30 minutes to make. I've also have had their bún bò Huế and mì quảng in the past, and both were really good. Portions are solid for the price too. The restaurant itself is pretty no-frills, and service was nice. I'd definitely come back whenever I'm in the area and recommend it for central Vietnamese food.

i finally came here because this has been my mom's favorite bun bo hue spot for years! Their bun bo hue was very flavorful and rich with a little spice. My friend and I don't eat the pork hock/knuckle and when they noticed we took it out, they said next time we can tell them and they will add more beef instead. I thought that was really nice. We also got banh nam and banh it ram and both were tasty! Their banh nam was very thick and filling. Their banh it ram was so crispy and chewy. The texture and taste were great.

The service here is amazing! I placed a takeout order with extra requests and they were so accommodating. For the food, we tried the Banh it ram which was sooo crispy and flavorful. It was everything I imagined it to be. Nem chua was delicious and perfect bite size (smaller than usual). Combo plate was perfect for my friend to try all three of my favs. We also had the durian smoothie and it was delicious. I would come back.

Was craving all the delicious looking Vietnamese food that has been popping up all over my socials, especially the crispy mochi ball specifically from this restaurant from Instagram reels Very glad I got to try it. Lots of carbs!

Came to try the famous banh it ram and loved every dish! My husband loved the BBH he said it was one of the best he had tried here in OC. Love that they offered all the banhs in variety format where you can get half and half because i wanted it all! Everything came out super fast after we order except the banh it ram since they make it to order it takes about 15 mins but was totally worth it. Note drown it in fish sauce and it is amazing.

Even though I got the small size, it was basically 2 portions for me. Had to rest the rest to go It comes with pork blood cake, pork hock, sliced meat, and viet ham. It was a good bowl of bun bo - I dressed it up with the herbs and banana flower (not pictured)

Wait was about 20 min on a Sunday! Banh it ram (6.5/10): overhyped imo....95% dough and 5% filling. Would be much better with more filling, but I did really like the crunch & that there aren't any mung beans in the filling LOL mi quang dac biet (7/10): very solid. The noodles are white bc they don't use food coloring to dye the noodles yellow anymore. The broth was seasoned perfectly and wasn't lackluster or too salty. I'd consider getting this again but there's prob better out there! Great service though, everyone was so sweet

    Banh ít ram to go

Jumped on the viral bandwagon. The banh it ram was what others had to say to about it: crispy, mochi-like. Although it lacks filling, the super chewy rice texture makes this good carb savory staple. Good to share - 1 piece was enough carb for me. Looks like fresh mochi like texture made on their end so definitely worth a try in you're if the area. Also got the banh beo - was surprised by the portion size here. They give you a lot of the rice cakes here. Paired with some at home veggies, good for more carb loading.

FOR THE BBH FAM Waited 15 mins for 3 for lunchtime on a Saturday! Wasn't too bad. The service attentive was quick and nice. Got the BBH, the combo banh, and banh ram it. Everything was tasty and just want to note that the banh ram it took 30 mins! If you have time, it's worth it! Here's a pic of it!!

We came here for the Ban it ram for to go! The restaurant is located inside a mall, plenty of parking. The ban it ram was $17 and comes with 4 large pieces. Was a little disappointed with the dish, too much carbs and the fried part is too rich, can barely finish one, wish the sauce was a bit thicker. This dish wasn't it for me but would love to try other dishes here.

We came here specifically to try the Banh It Ram, please note they make the dish fresh so we did have to wait 20 minutes for it. The service is SOO friendly! Thank you to the nice uncle who let us sit inside even though we had a to-go order and made our drinks quickly while we sat and chatted. Banh It Ram - 4/5, large portions with good flavor! I'd compare it to a crunchy rice cracker with mochi and shrimp filling on top. Lots of nuoc mam sauce! Salted plum drink - 5/5, really good sour plum flavor and the club soda isn't bitter!! One of my favorite drinks, soo happy to find somewhere that makes it well. Vietnamese coffee - 4/5, very strong and bitter.

The chicken was crispy and the dipping sauce gave it that extra yummy goodness. The dish also came with a side of broth that had chicken bits in it, was nice to help digest your dish. I also loved that they gave you pickled veggies & fresh veggies. We also ordered the Loi's Fusion Saltado, upgraded the rice to garlic egg fried rice. The beef was soft and tender, the fries were nice and crispy and the fried rice was fresh. You 100% need to get the Thai Tea. A lot of place add too much cream/half and half diluting the tea flavor, they do not skimp on the actual tea in their drink. The color speaks for itself on the dark orange hue!

I'm a bit late getting around to writing this, and unfortunately, they are already closed, but I still felt like I had to share my experience. I'm not completely surprised that they closed, especially after trying their bò né. I've had this dish many times at different places around Orange County, and unfortunately, this was probably the weakest version I've come across. The first thing that stood out was the presentation. As you can see in the picture, there was this purple-colored sauce on the meat itself, which honestly did not look very appetizing. To make things worse, the sauce was cold and did not heat in time with the skillet, which really took away from the experience. The flavor itself wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't anything memorable. It was just okay, and when you factor in the cold food and the presentation, it made the whole dish disappointing. With so many places around Orange County serving bò né at a much higher level, I would probably recommend spending your money elsewhere. If you were wondering whether you missed out on some hidden gem, don't worry, you didn't. This one felt more like a piece of coal than a diamond. That being said, every restaurant has its journey, and with more time, maybe they could have found their footing. Hopefully, they can take this experience as a lesson, refine their recipes, and bring something better in their next venture. I am rooting for you Loi!

I found the food to have a great depth of flavor, something a lot of pho places lack. I especially liked the wider noodles which offered a nice chew and texture change. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls.
