The food came out quick, but would have gladly waited for better quality. The crab and shrimp dip maybe had one piece of shrimp. My son got Mac and cheese that was 9 dollars and it was boxed Kraft mac and the sweet potato fries that were extra were burnt to a crisp. Not fresh at all. The ambiance is probably very nice on a pretty day. May go back, but will know now what not to order. read more

I'm so mad i forgot pics! We were starving and it looked so good! So you're just going to have to trust me on this lol! We ordered the bang bang shrimp as a starter and i was secretly concerned about how much breading versus how much shrimp we were going to experience. Picky i know. I just want actual shrimp if I'm going to pay for it ‍ The starter cam out and it was so good. Not too much of a kick so even our kids could enjoy it if we returned to the beach with them. The batter wasn't overpowering at all. It was a perfect blend of shrimp to batter. My husband had the Local Grouper and said he found it very impressive with flavor. He just got it grilled and they serve it with a thin glaze over the top and lemon and it was flavorful with that addition. I had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. It didn't need anything it was great! Just the right amount of sauce and the noodles weren't too cooked or too firm. The chicken was freshly grilled instead of using like frozen precooked grilled chicken like some restaurants. Food was so bad I am mad I spent the amount of money I did. Unseasoned and very bland. But what really made the experience awful was the service. My waitress put a dirty appetizer plate infront of my husband picked it up scratched the food off with her finger nail then out the plate back down. Crab dip was the best of the four, Lobster bites had little lobster, plenty of spice and fried coating. Crab cakes (2) were served on a fried green tomato bed...OK, but nothing special...not like the "real" crab cakes from MD or Tidewater areas...they must not use Old Bay. Boom Boom shrimp were good, not too spicy. All appetizers were good sized, but at nearly the cost of what entrees used to be, it still came to over $100+ excluding tip. Unfortunately I was truly disappointed when there is so much potential for greatness. All you need is poor service and it goes downhill from there. Maybe lunch is not the best time to eat here...or maybe it was an off day for the staff where no one was on their game, perhaps they need to go back to food service basics 101. Once upon a time we enjoyed this place quite a bit. We hadn't been in a couple of years due to a bad experience. We decided to try them again and are sorry we did. We took our daughter and her family for a birthday dinner and with 5 adults and one 10 year old we spent almost $400! There was no bartender on staff and so our waitress made our drinks. They weren't very good. The vegetable of the day was corn on the cob and it was cold and mushy. Absolutely disgusting to be honest. The rest of our meals were poor to mediocre. Nothing was prepared right, it was all cold to warm, and lacked any real flavor. We were all so disappointed and don't plan to ever be back. read more

Went to brunch with some friends. Food and Service was great! I think we managed to beat the Church Crowd. We arrived around 10:30-11am. The wait was about 10-15 minutes for a seat outside. I don't quite remember the exact time, but if you want to beat the crowd... I wasn't exactly feeling breakfast food, so I ordered the Seafood Platter. It was good! My friends all looked at my plate in agreeance. One even stole a bite. The only thing I did not like was that my fries were quite oily from being placed under the rest of my fried food, so I didn't eat too many of those. Other than that the atmosphere was great. It wasn't too hot sitting outside under the shade with all the fans blowing. I know I much preferred that than freezing inside. If you are prone to chilliness like me and are eating inside bring a sweater of some sort lol! read more

The best part about Nick's is the view from the outdoor seating. Second is the service. Unfortunately, for the price and being directly ON the ocean, the food is not that great. Our first visit to Nick's Boathouse won't be our last. From the informal mascat, Bay, to our wonderful server, Wendy, we were given top notch service. My grilled red grouper was really good, but, for me, the sweet potato waffle fries, stole the evening. Crisp, lightly dusted in cinnamon, and offered with a coconut dipping sauce. They were ambrosia. We sat on the deck outside and had a great view of the sunset and rising moon. read more

Beautiful outside views with great portions for price point seafood. At first glance it looked like captain D's. A low budget shrimp basket kinda place. But low and behold, the food was far from disappointing. The specials were on point and the drinks were delicious and generous. They had a 5$ shot that was sweet and hit the spot. Not only was the food amazing, but our waitress Rachelle provided superior service and was so upbeat and very attentive! She was such a breath of fresh air!! We liked the food and atmosphere so much that we went back the next day. Dining outdoors near the water with the breeze was really nice and a definite change of scenery for me as a tourist. The food was obviously delicious. I can't remember all that we had, but it was great. The staff was awesome. Some of them have worked there for years and drive a good distance to work, so it obviously is good place to work. I highly recommend trying Nick's Boathouse. Our issue was the sides- my slaw tasted just on the edge of expiration, my sons smoked Gouda grits tasted like smoked grit soup. Positives- the steak was cooked perfect, but had no seasoning (I added salt and pepper, made all the difference).
