Best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Go there everytime I come back to California. Wish I could get food like that on the East coast.

I have been coming to nicks for a long time and raved about it to all of my friends. It was THE place to go on a saturday morning for an amazing breakfast burrito, or really any time you feel like something good. I genuinely used to think it was the best place in Seal beach, and really all around best breakfast burrito. Well...not anymore. Three times in a row now, i ordered the vegetarian breakfast burrito, the first time i was given a bacon burrito, the second time i was given a cold one even though i came o time to pick It up and the third time it was just sad...all three times they overcharged me by $1, i have absolutely no idea why. This last burrito, the eggs were unseasoned and the burrito has become so small that i don't even finish my sauce any more before i finish the burrito. It makes me so sad, because it was such a good place. I don't know what happened to it, but it's such a shame. I'm sorry nicks, but i can't recommend a place that's become pretty much everything i hate in an eatery. Your burritos were good but i take it those times are gone elsewhere, just like my business. read more

Best breakfast burrito I ever had!!!! Pack with flavor and it keeps you full all day long. Nick is such a nice person too!!!! I always get the sauce on the side, I don't like hot stuff. The place is small, but they always say that good things come on small packages and in this case is very true. The perfect meal to spend all day at the beach. read more

Best Breakfast Burritos in the O.C. I was craving a machaca & egg burrito the other day, when I found this wonderful deli that has really good machaca & egg burritos. The burrito came with diced tomatoes, onions, and melted cheese. It was something so simple but tasted so special. My sweetie and I shared this burrito together. We devoured this thing and ended up fighting for the last bite. Nick's does a good job. Their food is reasonable & good. 2 star sacrilege. Used to dig on the breakfast burritos until I ate one without a hangover and realized they're too greasy, too cheesy and I got diarrhea afterwards. Started making my own and rcognized how mediocre Nick's is. Good place to make an appearance on sunday mornings though. read more

This place used to be good and a staple of the community but it's painfully clear those days are gone. Whoever the guy is who takes phone orders on Sunday mornings hung up on my wife twice and by the time we got there, never even took the order down after confirming twice. He was rude, unprofessional and clearly not cut out for customer service. Do not waste your money here. read more

best breakfast burrito in town. the line will be long but worth the wait on the weekends. call ahead for pickup if youre in a rush. if the breakfast burrito isnt enough for you go for the 'one and a half' which, as the name says is one and a half times the size of the normal burrito... just dont look for it on the menu. some things are best left to the insider. remember to wait at least 20 minutes before you hit the beach; after one of these you are definitely more likely to sink than swim. enjoy. read more

for now, the only thing stopping this place from being a 5 star review was that i've only tried one thing. maybe upon returning here, i'll give it a 5-starrer... but a solid 4 shall do today. so the one thing i tried was the breakfast burrito. apparently famous for the breakfast burrito, nick's is a small place with a packed crowd. i went with a small group of friends on sunday morning and we were sure to call our order in ahead of time as to not be stuck in the long line that would've otherwise awaited us. we got in, walked right to the front, paid 19 bucks and change for 4 burritos, luckily got a table immediately, and the 4 of us consumed an amazing treat after a night of drinking and fun. repeat this mantra -- morning after drinking + breakfast burritos = awesome. the thing is, i wonder if it would've been as amazing had i not been starving. i'll have to try it again at some point in order to update the rating one way or the other. read more

Here's how it works- be nice in line, say hi to all of your friends and when it''s your turn- make sure you get the Breakfast Burrito- extra Chorizo-- but you say it like- BB with extra C please... and then dig in to the best tasting- hand crafted breakfast in the world.... Nick's is a decent place mostly because you place your order, sit and watch the people stroll by on Main Street, and daydream with all of the nostalgic surf photos, posters, and advertisements plastered on every wall. The guy behind the register may lack some customer appreciation, but today when I place my order for 4 Breakfast burritos, he got the order fast-tracked. He saw that I was a working man jonesing for some killer grinds and he got it done! I ordered the Breakfast Burrito which comes wrapped in a huge flour tortilla. They somehow stuff cheese, machaca meat,eggs,potatos,hot salsa,and cilantro into a neat burrito. Ask for Hot and it satisfies the taste buds. It isn't over-the-top spicey, but just right. This is the perfect after surf or hike or bike ride place. I have been here on weekends and it does get busy. But you can relax in the side room next to the Nursery and immerse yourself in the plants and flowers and fountains. It's a win-win situation for Nick and the Nursery. You can choose from at least 20 different items, plus they serve coffee, tea, and have a soda machine. I usually order the Breakfast Burrito when I go because it always satisfies my tummy. read more

I haven't been there for awhile but when I am craving a turkey avocado sandwich it's where I go. but my favorite thing is those chocolate chip things with coconut ummmmm I really just go there cause they're good. yes..the breakfast burritos are that good. damn good, actually. the only unfortunate thing about nick's (to me at least) is that i only recently discovered them courtesy of someone i work with...in muther-flippin' LA! so all this time i've held myself out to be an orange county girl never knowing that one of its most magnificent claims to fame, otherwise known as nick's breakfast burrito, even existed. shameful. truth be told i kinda felt like a jackass but it wouldn't be the first time so i quickly got over it. anyhow..about these burritos..they are bananas! i like the original, toasted with a little hot sauce. mmm, mmm, goodness. what sets them apart from other bb's is that the eggs are minced in with the potatoes and chorizo so it has the greatest texture. soft, but not too mushy. i think one will set you back about $5..totally reasonable given its fabulousness. so yes...do try. it can get pretty busy down there so consider a to go order if you don't have the patience! read more

My friend and I love to go to Nick's on Saturday mornings. It's always crowded and parking is a bit difficult to find. However, the crew there is always efficient so we get our food pretty fast. We both always get Nick's breakfast burrito (bacon, eggs, salsa, chorizo, cheese and potatoes). Comes out piping hot wrapped in a powdery tortilla. Very filling and pretty good size. If you're dieting this probably isn't the burrito for you. The ingredients look like mush because of the abundance of melted cheese and chorizo. However, combined together, the flavors are so so good. Just be sure to eat the burrito there! I brought one home and it just doesn't the same. The cheese coagulates and the tortilla is mushy. I have another friend who loves a burrito with chicken, mozzarella cheese and spinach. Never tried it but it sure looks good! read more

The tortilla is even done up proper(they make it kinda crisp on the outside). Yep! Must go here if ya' haven't tried it. This place is the definition of overrated. I have been going to Nick here and there for over 15 years. I don't know what happened to this place, but the breakfast burrito used to be so good. Now is it just Blah. Today I got the bacon breakfast burrito. there was only 1 slice of bacon in the whole burrito. The only way this burrito is edible is if you drench it in their hot sauce. In my opinion is it just a flavorless mess. Add anything onion, garlic, salt, or pepper. Anything, so it just don't taste like egg and potatoes. Finally had a chance to try their breakfast burrito. I would normally not try a "burrito" in a deli, but thought based on the reviews it would be good. I had the breakfast burrito this morning. It was less than 'just ok'. The tortilla was cold and not heated through. There was no taste of chorizo. The potatoes were mushy and had no texture or flavor. And it was soft/mushy as if the egg was not completely cooked. When I ordered the burrito the gentleman asked if I wanted it mild or hot. I said hot. Could not believe the line at Nick's this morning not that it was a bad thing the line moved quickly came here to try out the Breakfast burrito that I've been hearing about. I decided on the machaca burrito, it was okay, nothing spectacular. It amazed me with so many people and such a long line that this little shop could put out burritos so fast at an okay quality burrito, it was not greasy, the ingredients were fresh. The good thing was that it didn't taste like a gut bomb. Its a little over rated but I will try this again. It didn't match the hype but the quality was good enough to try again and the people were very nice,They should change the name to Nick's Little Burrito Factory. read more

Had a chance to stop by and grab some Bfast here this morning during our bike ride to seal beach. It's a nice little joint, with a little feel of NY deli shops. I had the breakfast burrito per my friend's recommendation and it was very good. it's not your average small "del taco" kind of bfast burrito. It was pretty good sized, stuffed completely.(not like the burritos that you see where the top half is just tortilla). Seemed like a place where local residents make frequent visits. read more

After seeing on the local morning news this place being showcased and the breakfast burrito I had to have one. Sadly, I was also highly disappointed. They gave it more hype than it delivered. Not much on the way of flavor but is a big bang for your buck as it is huge. I will say the spice was not so high to blow your brains out, which was pleasing to me, but I still would have preferred just a little more heat. I got the mild version. The other diner had the hot version and had a bite without adding more sauce and said it was a little bland and needed a little help in the heat department. Customer service was great.
