    Buttermilk Fried Chicken

OMG the Buttermilk Fried Chicken plate here is my absolute favorite! I keep coming back and ordering the same thing! The chicken, the mashed potatoes, the corn and the gravy are all equally as amazing and all the items compliment each other so well. I can't imagine ordering anything else when I come here.

With one night in Long Beach, so happy we choose Nick's for our get together. Shrimp Taquitos were delicious as was the Scottish Salmon and the center cut filet. Great Mixologist on staff, the martinis were consistent and "on point". Definitely recommend and encourage a reservation - place was at capacity. While it can obviously get a little loud, we opted for an outside table. In hindsight if conversation is center stage, perhaps inside despite the crowd may have been a better choice - as the roadside noise in Long Beach is not for the faint of heart. Ending with service. Having Jonathan take care of us was like winning the lottery, always present when you needed him - but never around when you didn't. 5-star service / 5-star food - will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Food, drinks and service are consistent. They are good at what they do. Ambience is causal but doesn't hurt to dress up.

Nicks is always a five star experience! We had the Chilean Seabass and the San Francisco style cioppino with the most awesome sourdough garlic bread yummy! We had to get another round of bread just to dip in the soup! We never leave enough room for butter cake. I guess I need to get that sometime maybe just as my entire dinner. lol! Our server, Steven was awesome. He was super attentive and very nice. Did a great job!

Food is top tier, drinks are phenomenal! The atmosphere is great. I've been here a few times now, girls night and date night. Had an absolute blast each time. Wait times can be pretty long. Each time we waited an hour and walked second street happily while we waited. Desert is also soooo good!

I love Nick's so when a friend invited me to go out to Long Beach, I recommended this location. This one is in the heart of Belmont Shores. The parking is like any other metro city...street or parking garage. It's got lots of different shops and restaurants nearby. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. The server was very nice and friendly. She was helpful with selecting options from their menu. We landed on the fried chicken, prime rib dip and the shrimp taquitos. The chicken was crisp, juicy and flavorful. It came with mashed potatoes, biscuit and gravy. The prime rib dip was also good. The bread was notably fresh and soft. The shrimp taquitos were ok. This restaurant is pretty inside. They had a fireplace at the lobby and a pretty big bar at the front. Enjoyed our time here with friends!

One of my all time favorite restaurants to go to's for a special occasion! The ambiance is filled with great energy, very welcoming atmosphere, and amazing service that we received by Devin! I had the Chilean Seabass which was prepared just right lil crispy on the outside and buttery inside on the side were delicious mashed potatoes, and spinach. I paired my dinner with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc! If you haven't been here, you won't be disappointed! I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Cheers

I have been here one time before. And they have great food. However this time it went wrong. I know they were busy but we were seated outside and the waiters took our unused chairs even though they had other tables to take them from. So we ended up with not being able to put our stuff on the chairs but on the table. And we intentionally ordered food with no garlic and there was still garlic on it. We explained to the hostess and she said that it is a special recipe and they don't list all the ingredients....however yes you list if there is garlic in the food and it was a lot. Overall they have a nice ambiance but ending up sitting outside feeling down prioritized with left over food on the floor wasn't pleasant. They did however not charge us for the food after we expressed our concerned. That was the only thing that is going to make me come back and give them another chance.

My fav go to restaurant. Servers are always attentive and accommodating. I love to order the Scottish salmon. Bistro plate is perfect if you want something light with a bang. Really loving the artichoke hearts when they're in season here! We come here for the butter cake to fill our sweet tooth. Great ambiance indoor or outdoor seating.

Hannah at the bar was great! I was third on the waitlist and when I checked in, it was still 1 1/2 wait, which is pretty insane. I was there for a business dinner, but we definitely weren't trying to wait over an hour. But with the Long Beach Grand Prix going on- we didn't want to head to downtown . We didn't feel like walking around and trying to find another place so we decided to go to the bar and have a drink. Hannah, who works at the bar was very attentive and she was on the lookout for a couple of seats for us to be able to have dinner and a business conversation. Everything we had was delicious ( Chilean Seabass and top sirloin as main dishes, asparagus fries, and shrimp taquitos as appetizers, a dirty martini, and a margarita ) All bartenders all checked in with us, which was great thank you.!

Back again for more , Nice warm lites and friendly atmosphere always great service. Food is amazing and staff is very accommodating. Always a great time meeting others and sitting at the bar top is a fun time . I'll be back again cheers!!!!

We've been coming to Nick's Restaurant week after week, and the biggest reason is the incredible bartenders who have become like family to us, Yannell, Chrissy, and Hannah. They are so much more than bartenders. They are attentive, caring, welcoming, and genuinely make every visit feel special. No matter how busy the restaurant gets, they always remember us, check in on us, and make sure everything is perfect. Their level of service is truly unlike any other. We could dine anywhere, but it's their warmth, consistency, and the personal connections they create that keep us coming back every single week. Thank you, Yannell, Chrissy, and Hannah, for always making us feel at home. Nick's is lucky to have you!

Food was amazing, as always! My go to is the Petite Bistro Plate and today that came with French Onion soup. Our table also ordered the top sirloin with a loaded baked potato and asparagus, as well as the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. All three were extremely well done dishes. For drinks, I ordered my usual: Jalapeño watermelon margarita with a chili salt rim. Our server Lauren really set the high standards for future servers. She was kind and very easy going. The front desk was also very welcoming and ensured that we were seated immediately. Ambiance was the perfect balance of moody with candles and low lighting.

Fire pit right behind me at the bar!

We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. There was already a good amount of people waiting when we arrived. They actually were able to seat us right away on the side where the street was at one of the high top counter. Don't think people wanted those seats. One section was empty which we asked if they could moved the umbrella a little to shade us and the other section. We couldn't sit there as we were told that it was for a group of three that was waiting already and they requested it shaded. Ok, so we can't share the umbrella.... Anyway, we sat down and did move the umbrella a little where it would shade everyone but the hostess came back minutes later and moved it back. And of course, the group didn't even sit there which they ended up putting two other people who didn't even care if the umbrella was there... Enough of that. Service was on the slow side. It did take a while till someone came over to take our order as well as brought over some water. Menu did look similar but I'm not sure if they added new items on the menu. After we ordered which did take a while a drink did come out. I had to walk over to the bar section to ask for a straw. Appetizer did come out pretty fast which was the onion blossom. It looked amazing, a little salty but good. The waiter that brought it out for us, I asked for an extra side of dipping but that never came out. As for the main, the honey chicken sandwich and the breakfast croissant. Well, when the dish came out, one of the order was wrong. Instead of croissant sandwich, it was a breakfast sandwich instead. Server was a little taken back and asked the waiter which they looked somewhat confused. Don't know if it was an honest mistake or they just put in the wrong order. Anyways, had to wait for that to come out. Again, still didn't get any extra sauce which I ended up walking to a table to grab some ketchup instead. One of the server did notice but was like whatever. Rarely did we get checked on until I asked for a refill which was once the whole time. When the bill came, I had to ask again. Not once did water get refilled the whole time till the end. Service was just not the same as prior visit. I don't know if it's new management or just a change in name but it wasn't a nice experience. The food was good I give that but service this time, major fail. Hopefully it's not alway like that. Hopefully, next time will be different.

It's right in Belmont and one neighborhood away from the water. Great date place and bar too. 2026 update: This breaks my heart. The menu has changed, the chef has definitely changed and service has unfortunately gone down. First off they cut a good portion of the menu and the physical design is not the easiest to read. (that's not really a problem tbh but it's something to note) What is the problem are the following: Ordering food for 3 took 20 minutes for servers to come, get food, and water + drinks we ordered. food took almost 45 minutes to arrive at the table. I get the kitchen makes a lot of stuff but this is crazy. at this point we were here for over an hour without eating. Not only were the orders wrong but also food portions were noticeably smaller. Credit due here, they fixed that (ofc which takes an extra time). Final straw here: To get someone's attention, get the bill, then for them to come get the bill, pay, and give us our cards back took: TWENTY MINUTES. Just to pay. tldr: food prices went up, staff not attentive, food still decent but different chef. Food is noticeably saltier. This place is still cute and servers as a great bar but oh my gosh has it gone down hill. Full context half the restaurant was empty. we are so disappointed. this place used to be great :(

I visited Ellie's on a Tuesday afternoon around 4 PM and was seated indoors. The restaurant was…read morefairly quiet at that hour, so I expected attentive service, unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I ordered the burger and fries. Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.

We decided to celebrate my son's birthday at The 908 and really glad we did. The restaurant has a…read moremodern look and felt welcoming. We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

555 East Steakhouse is a 'popular' steakhouse located in LB - our group came here for an early…read moredinner, and we were seated right away. Their menu offers various apps, soups, salads, pasta options, chicken and seafood entrees, and their prime steaks. We ordered: +the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake +the Clam Chowder - New England-style with bacon +the Vine-Ripened Tomato & Burrata +the Wild Ross Sea Chilean Sea Bass +and, the Hand-Cut Filet Mignon - 8 oz, and served with your choice of baked potato garlic mashed potatoes, or french fries The crab cake was not that great - didn't taste fresh nor seasoned. The clam chowder was thin, watery, and wasn't a favorite. My counterparts enjoyed the sea bass, as it light and delicate; the other accompaniments were not great and wasn't complementary to the bass at all. My filet mignon was well overcooked, so it was tough - pretty disappointing, considering that their steaks is what they're supposed to be known for? The garlic mashed potatoes was the highlight of the evening, as everyone at our table noted it was probably one of the best versions - thick, creamy, and very flavorful. I also tried their house Arnold Palmer - this was just not prepared well; the tea was not brewed correctly and was bitter, and there was hardly any lemonade in there. The apple tart, served with vanilla ice cream, was not your typical tart - it was thin and very phyllo-like; I really enjoyed it, even though it was much on the sweeter end; others were not much of a fan as it was not the expected version of a traditional tart. Service was fine, but a bit pushy - also, we didn't really appreciate the server's sense of humor much. They also weren't attentive, and it took some time to get an order update, obtain refills, and get our checks. Considering the price point and the quality of the food that we received, this was a no dice. +garlic mashed potatoes +apple tart +off service
