Like others my family just finished our day at Six Flags and were ready to head home to Maine. My wife wanted pizza and I wasn't interested in the sauce covered overpriced cardboard you get at the amusement park. A quick search of area restaurants and I saw Nicky's with great reviews. Took the wife and 2 young kids (8 and 10), and ordered a couple of large pizzas. The pleasant woman at the counter showed me the size of the large and I was amazed and appreciated her insight as it would have been way more than we would have needed. The small pizzas were as big as a large most places and the kids half and half cheese and pepperoni, the bacon with white sauce for the wife, and my pastrami grinder were superb. While we waited there was a steady stream of customers who were greeted like family and quickly taken care of. I wish we lived closer so I could try more of the menu. Not sure what we did wrong. We checked Yelp for the best lunch nearby whilst driving on I-91 - Nicky's pizza came up. 4+ stars. We headed there, just 9 minutes off the interstate. It was a reliable warning when we saw chicken wings advertised in the window. We ignored that harbinger. I would really like to have something positive to say about the pizza we ordered. We only ate 1/4 of each slice, in part as a result of the sheer quantity, but also because of the dissapointing quality. On a positive note: the bottled juice and tea and the bag of factory potato chips we had were no worse than they would be at any other of the 100s of thousands of places they are served. Best bang for your buck around. Paid $2.75 for a slice that was about half the size of a large pizza from anywhere else. Crust wasn't too thick or thin and was amazing. Menu board offers only a few types of basic slices, but while I was eating inside many others came in and ordered different slices (sausage, pepperoni and olive.) We stopped in at Nicky's on the way home from Six Flags to get away from the over priced greasy amusement park food. The inside reminds me of a New York style pizzeria; sports articles on the walls and some photos of "the old country" to (try) and give it that authentic feel. My wife and I split a buffalo chicken grinder (5 fried chicken strips, lettuce, tomato, and pretty decent hot sauce), and the four 16 year old girls (ya, I'm crazy for "volunteering" for this trip) got a small/medium cheese pizza (big - had to take the rest home). Six drinks, grinder, and pizza $32. While waiting for our food, we saw other tables get their single slices ($2.50 for a cheese slice) and they are almost a meal in themselves. Four stars because it good food (pizza/subs) at a fair price. This is a cash only establishment, but they have an ATM inside. Side notes: you might get the impression they are "hostile" to outsiders (Six Flags tourists) by the signs inside / outside the business indicating "no outside beverages inside" or "restroom instructions: order food, pay for food, permission to use bathroom.". Probably some of the best pizza I've ever had in my entire life. SO delicious. The location is nice and has a very friendly atmosphere. HUUUUGE portion sizes. Pictured is a large pizza. After moving to Suffield we were looking for a new local pie shop in the area. The place we used to go to in Windsor Locks went out of business after the owner died and the new owner drove it into the ground. We went by this place and decided to give it a try. Other shops in the area have gone under and I can see why. This place is outstanding. We weren't sure what size to get so we opted for the medium/large. It was huge. The toppings were plentiful, fresh, and scattered neatly so each piece had it's share. The next time we went, we tried the Steak Bomb Grinders. These are to die for. The next time I got a turkey grinder. Turkey is my old go to for grinders. I used to have to travel to Wilson Pizza Palace in Wilson, Ct. to get one similar. They were the best. Nicky's? Even money. Both places are top notch. Now the Covid thing. We went in the height of the pandemic. Nicky's was very accommodating. Delicious! This is the first time I've tried the pizza and it's excellent! Opted for the cauliflower crust which was crisp and tasty! The large was 20 pcs. The slices are absolutely HUGE too and hang over the plate. Lots of grease so get napkins but so good. They bring your order to you while you sit and relax. Cheese slice - $2.75 Pep - $3.00 Combo - $3.50 CHEAP BEER! That's rare nowadays. $2.25 for a bottle. From Bud Light to Corona to Heineken. $2.50 for Blue Moon and Sam Adams draft $3.00 for wine Pitchers also available. Ice cream for $1 The eggplant parm sandwich is one of the best. The small one is really big and only $5.50. Lots of drinks available for around $2.25. They only take CASH. ATM available inside. Like others, I was coming home from Six Flags and chose to save my money for some "real" food at a decent price, instead of paying for the insanely expensive crap at Six Flags. Everyone in this place was very nice. The sign outside said, "Huge slices: $2.75" so we got three for the 3 of us, thinking that we'd end up having to go back for more. They were the largest slices of pizza I have ever seen. The crust was thick yet crispy on the bottom. Lots of cheese and good sauce. One slice was plenty for each of us. Whole pizzas are giant, so ask how big they are before you order. We got their softserve ice cream for desert. I wasn't expecting much, but it had really good flavor and each ample cone was only $1. They also have inexpensive beer, which I was dying for, but since I still had a 2-hour drive ahead of me, I had to settle for the 32 oz diet Pepsi for $1.75. If you're going to six flags I highly recommend stopping here to fill up, either on your way to the park or after. read more

Hands down, best pizza I've ever eaten!!!! I live about 2 hours away which is unfortunate because I would frequent this place often. My friend and I came into town for 6 flags and was looking for a rest room before we entered the park. We came across Nicky's and bought just a slice of pizza so we wouldn't feel bad about just using the rest room. The slice was huge and it was only $3 bucks! We couldn't wait to get out of the park to go back to get more. I will visit this establishment every time I come into town.. Thank you Nicky for the awesome pizza and friendly atmosphere! read more
