Parking is along the streets. It's limited to two hour parking from 8am-6pm except for Sundays and holidays. Wasn't exited for the limited brunch focusing on American Mediterranean options, served until 3pm. You're allowed to add protein to any of the items but limited to "one skewer" of pork, beef, chicken, shrimp. Would rather prefer dinner menu. It wasn't bad but you're paying for the ambiance, decor, aesthetic of sitting outdoor in a faux lush jungle setting in a tourist area blocks away from the beach. There's a tiny pool, more like a pond with lounge chairs. Everything was over the top photo worthy. We ordered: -Eggs in purgatory: basically a Shakshouka in tomato sauce, poached eggs and pita bread to dip in a skillet. Winner went to the pita bread. -French toast: Very light and fluffy. 2 slices of toast topped with berries and mascarpone. I never order sweets for breakfast and this order was just perfect for not being overly sweet or cinnamon spices like other French toasts. -Fried octopus: I'm used to grilled octopus but never tried fried! I loved this. You get the chewy inside texture with a thin crispy skin. The sauces were flavorful. Too bad it was served with one tentacle not two. -Fire bread with soft eggs: think of a flat bread topped with salty and honey saucy spinach, dill and mixed eggs on a pita bread. Looked healthy. We added a beef skewer but that wasn't necessary. -Breakfast sando: if you want safe then go for this. Eggs, prosciutto and croissant. A Night Hawk's diet is made up of insects and that's why you see insects as part of their decor and legend on the menu for the drinks. I ordered Luxury tax with gin. It was sweet and creamy orange flavor. The satsuma danish matcha was refreshing with the orange peel and orange flavoring and the matcha was more on the grassy herbal bitter side. What's better than breakfast? Brunch! It's definitely worth the drive to see this beautiful place for our friend's belated birthday celebration. The place was beautifully decorated and the vibe was fantastic. It felt like a resort! The customer service was superb! Our waitress was very attentive. She knew about our special celebration and made the birthday girl an espresso martini just for her ..plus she served all of us complimentary champagne to toast. As for the brunch food, it was okay overall. I especially enjoyed the bagel and lox which we could share among four friends. I had a great experience even though the food was not that spectacular. Great Experience! We valeted our car ($18) which worked out great because we had a candlelight concert at the Del after. The atmosphere is so cool with water features and fire to accent the greenery and sculptures. We were greeted warmly by the hosts and then waited briefly to be sat. Finally got to try one of CH's newest projects -- it's been all over social media -- and it's exactly what you'd expect from them: maximalist, eccentric, packed with photo ops, and fully committed to the vibe. We went on a Thursday around 6, and it wasn't too busy, though I can only imagine how packed it gets on weekends. Parking was rough, so we opted for valet at $18. We sat at the first outdoor bar area, which was fairly empty, but it still took quite a while to get menus or have a server stop by. I was excited to try their wine, but learned their full wine selection is actually at the other bar -- you can still order it, but it definitely slows things down. Drinks were fun and on‑brand with catchy names, but pricey and slow to arrive. After finishing our first round, we moved to the larger circular bar area. Much more energy, lots to look at, and definitely the more "wow" section of the space. We didn't order food, but saw a few dishes come out -- nothing really caught my eye enough to return for it. We tried to check out the speakeasy, but the waitlist was over two hours, so we skipped it. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I left pretty disappointed. The interior is beautiful and definitely the main reason I wanted to check it out, but the overall experience didn't live up to it. The food was very average and nothing really stood out. What bothered me most was finding actual dirt still attached to the greens served with the scallops. That's definitely not something you expect to see on your plate. The service was also very slow. Even though we had a reservation, we waited around 15 minutes to be seated, and then waited quite a while again before anyone came to our table. It felt like they were either understaffed or simply overwhelmed by how busy it was. The space itself is gorgeous, so I could see coming here for a drink at the bar and enjoying the atmosphere. But based on the food and service we experienced, I wouldn't choose it for dinner again. UPDATE -- Second Visit: We came back for a second visit, and this time the experience was significantly better. We tried the Grand Souvlaki Platter and the Lobster Squid Ink Linguine. I especially enjoyed the beef -- it was tender, flavorful, and easily my favorite part of the platter. The chicken and shrimp were good too. The linguine was also very good and had plenty of flavor. The pita was the one thing I wasn't particularly impressed with. Personally, I think a different type of pita would complement the platter much better. Service was also much better this time. Let's start with the good. First, out sever Lauren. She brought the energy, vibes and customer service. She was an entire vibe! The esthetic is fantastic. The waterfalls, foliage, seating... it's a beautiful restaurant. The drinks menu was also very creative, and my wife's run cocktail was delicious. Now on to the not so great... It started with our arrival. We arrived at 9:57 for our 10am reservation. My wife approached the hostess stand, said hello, and mentioned she was there for a 10am reservation. The hostess rudely told her they weren't open yet. First, there's no need to be rude. Second, why are you opening at 10 if your first reservation is at 10??? Next is the menu. I understand it's a Greek restaurant, and it seems like they're trying to keep the theme, but it doesn't work well for a brunch menu. I wasn't impressed with my breakfast options. Also, my wife and her sister are celiac, and there weren't any options beyond a salad for them to eat. They ended up ordering avocado toast and a breakfast sandwich without the bread. It was pretty sad. My brother in law and wife got their breakfast sandwiches in a normal amount of time. Neither looked particularly impressive. I received my hot cake about 25 minutes later. I would have canceled it, but my sister in law was also waiting on her food, so I did not. She received the simplest plate they'll make all day (manager's words) 15 minutes after I got my food, yes, 40 minutes after the first plates arrived. I know they just opened, so hopefully these are opening pains. We'll go back for drinks. Maybe we'll give them a few months to figure it all out and try dinner. Unless they completely revamp the menu, we won't be returning for brunch. read more

WOW! It was like stepping back into another century. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with so much greenery, fiery flames, and sounds of the waterfall and music in the background. The decor and ambiance of the space are remarkable and different from any outdoor space in Coronado. The place was busy for a Thursday evening, and we were lucky to find sitting at the bar, as reservations are highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and all dressed in pink velvet suits, which just added to the incredible motif of the place. We ordered the refreshing Money Tree, which tasted like watermelon and even came with a piece of Feta. The Jungle Bird was on a citrusy side but the pineapple foam on top was divine! For food, we ordered the wood-fired Spinach Bread, which consisted of ricotta cheese and house-made ranch. The ranch was giving tzatziki flavors and I devoured it. The Fried Mediteranian Octopus was equally as delicious. It was soft and crispy in all the right places. The sauce it came with added to the flavor and only enhanced the taste of the octopus. My favorite, however, was their Beet and Goat Cheese salad. It was such an unexpected mix of flavors that complemented one another in the most incredible way. The soft beets, in lightly creamy goat cheese, and crunchy pistachios were the perfect trifecta that I didn't know I was missing in my life. The service was pretty quick in getting our food out. The price is a bit steep, but you are paying for a the ambiance, which almost feels like it transports you to another century in a fancy jungle. ...if that even makes sense, lol. Checked out this new bar in Coronado and it was perfect for a girl's night out! It is an outdoor bar. The ambiance is very pretty and gave me a European / tiki / tropical feel. There are so many nice photo opportunities! I would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. We tried the 3 mocktails on the menu, which were very nicely presented! My favorite drink was the agua Fresca (watermelon & strawberry). The coastal returns (honey, lemon, cucumber) and trophy wife (carrot, yogurt, citrus, pineapple, lime) were also refreshing and tasty. The service was slow - I think if we weren't splitting our dishes we would have been so upset that the dishes came out 20 mins apart. I didn't appreciate waiting so long due to having a reservation but what I found frustrating was how the hosts kept making it seem like we would be seated in 5-10 mins when we'd check in. Once seated we had a great table and great waiter. Our waiter continued with a similar time trend the hosts did, often saying he'd be right back and taking a while to actually come back. Again the restaurant was busy, it's to be expected but I'd rather have had him communicate he was going to be a while or that it would take some time. I recently discovered Nighthawk through Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms, and after seeing all the buzz surrounding this fairly new restaurant, I was excited to finally check it out. We were celebrating a birthday, so I made a reservation through OpenTable and even communicated with the restaurant ahead of time regarding the celebration. Somehow that was not communicated from the app to the host stand. One thing I really appreciated was the communication about valet parking. Parking in Coronado can be extremely difficult, so knowing ahead of time that valet was available for $18 pre tax was fantastic. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! The decor and overall atmosphere are definitely picture worthy, and I can understand why Nighthawk has been getting so much attention across social media. One thing I did notice, however, was the flooring which I found concerning from a safety perspective. There is a lot of marble throughout the restaurant, with small rocks or stones placed between the crevices, I couldn't help but think about the potential safety hazard. So for my girly pops, careful on the choice of heels you wear to this place! Unfortunately, the service really brought down the overall experience for me. Our server started by asking if we wanted drinks, which we ordered. We also asked for recommendations, but unfortunately, she didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about the drink menu. There wasn't much personality or engagement, which was disappointing, especially at a newer restaurant that is getting so much attention. We ended up ordering the Money Trees cocktail, which was enjoyable. For food, we ordered several dishes: - calamari was delicious and definitely something I would order again - baba ganoushch which was really good, although I'm personally not a huge fan of the eggplant aftertaste, so I probably wouldn't order that one again. - steak skewers - carrots The absolute standout for me was the squid ink pasta with lobster. This was SO delicious and easily my favorite dish of the night. I would absolutely order it again and highly recommend trying it. The carrots, however, were a miss for me. The carrots themselves were cooked and sautéed really well, and the cream underneath was tasty, but I was completely caught off guard that they were served cold. When I asked if the carrots were supposed to be cold, her response came across as very dismissive and had an attitude to it. As someone who had never been to Nighthawk before, I was simply asking a question. The biggest issue of the night, though, was the lack of attentiveness from our server. Our water glasses were empty. We had finished our first round of drinks. Our server was nowhere to be found at our table for quite some time. What made it even more frustrating was that we were seated in a row of 3 tables, and she was actively attending to the tables on both sides of us but repeatedly passing right by our table. We were only a party of two, so it was especially noticeable. Eventually, I had to flag down another server and ask them to please get the general manager because we needed more water and our server hadn't checked on us. I also want to give credit where credit is due to the general manager who was on duty during our visit. After I expressed my concerns about my experience, he took the time to listen to me and genuinely hear me out. I appreciated that he didn't dismiss my concerns and that he tried his very best to turn the experience around and make things better. That effort did not go unnoticed, and I truly appreciate him taking the time to address my concerns personally. For me, this was incredibly disappointing because I really wanted to have a great experience here. I can understand an occasional delay or a busy shift, but when you're sitting there watching your server consistently attend to the tables around you while your own table is being overlooked, it really affects the overall dining experience. I wanted to love Nighthawk because the food has some real standouts, the space is gorgeous, and the restaurant has clearly generated a lot of excitement online. Great food and beautiful decor can only go so far when the service doesn't match the experience the restaurant is trying to provide. I had been very excited to try this place because I am kinda a sucker for this restaurant group and I was very intrigued by the aesthetic. The whole place looks like a jungle and you can tell they put a lot of money into decor, the waterfalls, fire torches, and overall vibe really does transport you. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we arrived about 10 min early, so we went and grabbed a seat at the bar for a cocktail. Our table didn't end up being ready until about 7:55, which wasn't a huge deal to us because we found bar seating. After getting seated, the hostess came by and apologized and brought us out glasses of champagne as an apology which I thought was a great and thoughtful touch. The food also came a bit out of order, the skewer arrived first, and the waitress thought we already got our apps but we hadn't yet. Again, very apologetic. Honestly the food exceeded our expectations! The edamame fatoush salad was 11/10, so unique and fresh and very well balanced. The beets and goat cheese were great too. Overall - I think this place is clearly still working out some kinks, they've only been open for 8 weeks, but I would certainly return! Staff was very kind and it's clear they are working hard. The food was good, I definitely want to try more things. The only bad thing was the service. Our service Bryan was amazing!! Super friendly and attentive, but... they're severely understaffed. I only saw 3 servers in the whole restaurant, Bryan was sweating so much, the poor guy was running from table to table. I don't think it's his fault, I think they need more servers. The table next to us received their food before getting their drinks, they finished their food and they still waited for their drinks. For us it was kind of like that, I ordered the mocktail and my mom ordered an Americano, the coffee got to us once we were already eating our food. I will say the food is overpriced in it by itself, but you're paying for the ambiance here, which is worth it every so often, in my opinion. It took hours for me to place my order and, later, to get the check and close the bill. The food also took a very long time to arrive. But, in my opinion, the main issue that needs attention is that the dishes are not served at the same time. My friends and I had to eat separately so that our food wouldn't get cold. We came to the restaurant to enjoy a meal together as a group, not separately. Overall, I really liked the atmosphere and the staff's attentiveness, but the long wait times and the lack of coordination between the dishes significantly affected the experience. It was so lovely and he said it was one of the nicest things he's experienced at a restaurant before. For the food, we enjoyed the beet hummus, the tzatziki, beef skewers, citrus fennel salad and the baklava. All were amazing and we could have drank that tzatziki dip-10/10! The ambiance was so elegant, and the waterfall and jungle vibe was beyond gorgeous! I would recommend getting there early since it gets really busy later in the evening. I am between 4 and 5 stars on this place because the vibes are just so awesome. They really went all out, silk pink napkins, fire, plants, and very cool rock booths. Omar was our server and he made our evening so fun and accommodated all of our allergy requests and made my friend's birthday extra special. The food was ok - expensive skewers to only get 2-3 pieces of meat on them! The drinks were pretty good, I appreciate how they try new flavors. Night Hawk has that "Wow" factor. The decor was absolutely stunning with blazing tiki torches, dreamy waterfalls, lush greenery and a luxury style wading pool. I wasn't a fan of the walkways though as it was difficult to walk on with heels. The waiters wore a pink velvet blazer and pants providing a playful contrast to the greenery and earthy tones. Unfortunately, the pink velvet didn't hide stains well; suits looked sweaty and dirty. Our waiter was friendly and patient, but lacked mindfulness for his tables. There were long waits for food without any updates from the waiter. We waited 45 minutes for the grand soulaki platter. The dish was beautifully presented and smelled amazing, but it was a disappointment. Everything was under seasoned. The zhoug and harissa tahini helped with flavor, but not enough. The shrimp were large and cooked beautifully, but again, under seasoned. The chicken skewers were dry and the beef were nothing special. The vegetables were fresh and still had some bite to them, but some salt would have enhanced its natural flavor. Added an order of babaganoush which added a creamy and earthy flavor to our platter. We appreciated the warm pita with the dishes. We ordered another round of drinks and dessert and waited 35 minutes for nothing to come. Asked our waiter what happened who said he put the order in, but someone else must have taken our dessert to another table. He offered to give us the dessert for free, but we chose to cancel the order (dessert/drinks). At this point, we weren't sure when we'd actually get the items. I ordered their shade with intent cocktail and it was nicely balanced and refreshing. I then ordered their lychee martini which was quite tasty. Neither drinks were strong. Paid roughly $215 (with tip). Restaurant sets a beautiful scene for social media platforms, but the hype was not matched by food or service. read more

After seeing so many gorgeous Instagram photos, videos, ads on LA websites, YouTube, and Facebook, this place looked way too stunning to pass up as it was so beautifully designed and well thought out! Then I started seeing a wave of 1 and 2 star reviews pop up, all within a span of a few days to a few weeks. That definitely made me pause. There were 4 of us in our party, and honestly, I showed up with very low expectations, wondering if I should even bother going. But the moment I arrived, everything had changed. I was running a little late because parking was a literal nightmare, and I'm not the biggest fan of valet. Those in my party had already been waiting, and while I secretly wished they had started ordering appetizers and drinks, they kindly waited for me, but being famished I really hoped they ordered something. From the second I was seated, our server greeted us with such a warm, welcoming attitude, and the experience only got better from there. The decor, the music, the staff, the energy and everything about this place just kept getting better and better, especially as the sun slowly started going down. The whole atmosphere felt alive, stylish, and fun. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout the meal, the food came out at a great pace, and the flavors were absolutely on point. Everything was delectable, and the presentation was beautiful, almost like little pieces of art with all the colors coming together. We ordered quite a bit, as you can probably see from the photos, and loved so many things: the appetizer sampler, the salads, the kebabs, and especially the unique desserts. Each dish had its own personality, and the whole meal felt exciting from start to finish. There is such a fun, vibrant energy throughout this restaurant and hotel, and San Diego definitely needs more places like this. The Lafayette really set the bar high, and CH Projects, AKA Consortium Holdings, clearly knows how to create unforgettable spaces. Night Hawk was wonderful. Highly recommend making reservations whenever you decide to visit. Enjoyed the evening with great company, atmosphere, and Mediterranean food. Definitely a must visit. We had only ordered the grand souvlaki platter. It consists with various skewers like vegetables, chicken, shrimp and tenderloin. It also sits a top of a salad like that includes cucumbers, olives, tomatoes, pickled onions, along with other vegetables. They had also served us an espresso martini for a friend's, birthday and it was delicious, followed with cake. Although we didn't try much of the menu this round, it was definitely delicious and left us full. Service at Night Hawk was great. The hostess and waiters were nice and attentive to our table. Its ambiance definitely draws us to dine and stay to enjoy. With its jungle/cave like relaxing atmosphere, night hawk is a fun and vibrant place to dine in. read more

This is my second attempt to fulfill a reservation at this newest installment of CH. It did not disappoint with ambiance which clearly can be seen from the faux plants on the ceiling, to the cascading overflowing waterfalls, to the mirrored glass bathrooms, to the details on the plate settings and silverware. We thought how nice it could be to join for brunch! The items on the menu seemed quite appetizing and the pricing was very reasonable for brunch! I know that this restaurant is new. However, CH Is NOT new to the restaurant and service industry. We got 4 items in our party of 4. The breakfast sandwich came on a large plate that looked as though it was still needed to be plated. The 24 hour soaked French Toast barely was dipped into a batter which was left dry and with no mascarpone. Even after mentioning to the server, it was not fixed. The hotcake which was a full size beautifully decorated "pancake" needed syrup as it was dry. I had asked twice for syrup and nothing came out. For the eggs in purgatory, it was 2 cooked eggs swimming in a skillet with a small pita bread and a beautifully cooked garlic head. It did not come with a spoon or enough bread to soak up the San Marzano tomatoes and its accompaniments. For breakfast- no bacon, no sausage- not many protein options.... hmm? The water glasses were very tiny and often they needed to replace. Why not leave a carafe at the table? I was toying with the idea of drinks but they needed the menu for someone else.... I hope to return one day and hope by then all the kinks are worked out. It was not pleasing to hear that they needed to work on things... if that's the case, open the restaurant when things are all figured out and do not tell your customers that this is your excuse for poor service and management. I came all that way and my friends paid for valet and was left feeling hungry and disappointed. They did take one thing off the bill with no apologies. I truly did want to enjoy our experience as I have at many CH establishments. read more
