I took my friend to Night Hawk for her birthday dinner and overall I'd rate it: ambience/vibe 10/10, service 8/10, food 7/10. First, the VIBE.... Absolutely gorgeous. It feels like you've been transported into some kind of Roman or Atlantis oasis. The rocks, fire, pool, booths and atmosphere are so unique and beautiful. We had a 5pm reservation and arrived right on time, but our table wasn't ready yet. The waiting area has a beautiful fire feature, but it was HOT outside, so we ended up waiting by the pool instead, which was much cooler. There were even people swimming! Once we were seated, we had two different people helping us throughout dinner. Both were kind and helpful, but I was never sure who our actual server was or who we were supposed to order from, so it was a little confusing. There was also quite a bit of waiting throughout the night. That said, Night Hawk is still new and getting into its flow. They explained that they have multiple kitchens and dishes come out as they're ready, which we appreciated knowing ahead of time. We ordered the pita, hummus, spinach bread, farro salad, beef skewer and baklava sundae. The food came out pretty quickly once we ordered! Overall, I'd give the food around a 7/10. Nothing was bad, but I wanted the flavors to be a little more flavor-forward. Some dishes tasted underseasoned or a little bland. The spinach bread was soggy and had a super thick layer of the topping, the farro salad could have used more seasoning, and our beef skewer had quite a bit of fat that wasn't really edible. There were also SO many flies. I understand that comes with outdoor dining, but it was a constant battle while trying to eat. Some of those little spinning table fly deterrents or something similar would make a huge difference. One of the funny moments of the night was the birthday surprise I had noted on the reservation that we were celebrating my friend's birthday, and the hostess and both servers confirmed her name. Neither of us drinks, so they surprised us with a non-alcoholic espresso martini, which I didn't even know existed! Except it came out saying "Happy Birthday Staci" with my name on it... and it was NOT my birthday. Our server was so sweet and apologetic, let me keep that one, and brought my friend a new one with her name. It ended up being delicious and a fun surprise! My biggest food disappointment was probably the baklava sundae. I LOVE baklava and it's one of my favorite desserts, so I was excited for it. There was basically a tiny square of baklava with mostly ice cream. I gave the little piece of baklava to my friend since it was her birthday, but I definitely think this dessert could be improved. If something is called a baklava sundae, I want BAKLAVA! We eventually asked for boxes and the check and ended up waiting quite a while again. Our reservation was at 5pm and we didn't leave until almost 8:30pm, which felt very long and drawn out for dinner for 2. Overall, I think Night Hawk has SO much potential. The setting alone is worth experiencing because there isn't anything else like it. Everyone we interacted with was kind, and I know there are always growing pains with a brand-new restaurant. With a little more seasoning and refinement of some dishes, better fly control, and a smoother/faster service flow, this place could be incredible. I'd come back for the atmosphere alone and would love to see how it evolves!
Finally got to try one of CH's newest projects -- it's been all over social media -- and it's exactly what you'd expect from them: maximalist, eccentric, packed with photo ops, and fully committed to the vibe. We went on a Thursday around 6, and it wasn't too busy, though I can only imagine how packed it gets on weekends. Parking was rough, so we opted for valet at $18. We sat at the first outdoor bar area, which was fairly empty, but it still took quite a while to get menus or have a server stop by. I was excited to try their wine, but learned their full wine selection is actually at the other bar -- you can still order it, but it definitely slows things down. Drinks were fun and on‑brand with catchy names, but pricey and slow to arrive. After finishing our first round, we moved to the larger circular bar area. Much more energy, lots to look at, and definitely the more "wow" section of the space. We didn't order food, but saw a few dishes come out -- nothing really caught my eye enough to return for it. We tried to check out the speakeasy, but the waitlist was over two hours, so we skipped it. Overall: great for a one‑time experience if you're looking for something unique, vibey, and social‑media‑forward. Service was slow, prices were high, and I'm not sure I'd come back -- but it's definitely a fun stop if you're chasing a TikTok‑style bar moment.
WOW! It was like stepping back into another century. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with so much greenery, fiery flames, and sounds of the waterfall and music in the background. The decor and ambiance of the space are remarkable and different from any outdoor space in Coronado. The place was busy for a Thursday evening, and we were lucky to find sitting at the bar, as reservations are highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and all dressed in pink velvet suits, which just added to the incredible motif of the place. We ordered the refreshing Money Tree, which tasted like watermelon and even came with a piece of Feta. The Jungle Bird was on a citrusy side but the pineapple foam on top was divine! For food, we ordered the wood-fired Spinach Bread, which consisted of ricotta cheese and house-made ranch. The ranch was giving tzatziki flavors and I devoured it. The Fried Mediteranian Octopus was equally as delicious. It was soft and crispy in all the right places. The sauce it came with added to the flavor and only enhanced the taste of the octopus. My favorite, however, was their Beet and Goat Cheese salad. It was such an unexpected mix of flavors that complemented one another in the most incredible way. The soft beets, in lightly creamy goat cheese, and crunchy pistachios were the perfect trifecta that I didn't know I was missing in my life. The service was pretty quick in getting our food out. The price is a bit steep, but you are paying for a the ambiance, which almost feels like it transports you to another century in a fancy jungle. ...if that even makes sense, lol. Parking is not the easiest, so keep that in mind if you're driving.
I recently discovered Nighthawk through Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms, and after seeing all the buzz surrounding this fairly new restaurant, I was excited to finally check it out. We were celebrating a birthday, so I made a reservation through OpenTable and even communicated with the restaurant ahead of time regarding the celebration. Somehow that was not communicated from the app to the host stand. One thing I really appreciated was the communication about valet parking. Parking in Coronado can be extremely difficult, so knowing ahead of time that valet was available for $18 pre tax was fantastic. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! The decor and overall atmosphere are definitely picture worthy, and I can understand why Nighthawk has been getting so much attention across social media. One thing I did notice, however, was the flooring which I found concerning from a safety perspective. There is a lot of marble throughout the restaurant, with small rocks or stones placed between the crevices, I couldn't help but think about the potential safety hazard. So for my girly pops, careful on the choice of heels you wear to this place! Unfortunately, the service really brought down the overall experience for me. Our server started by asking if we wanted drinks, which we ordered. We also asked for recommendations, but unfortunately, she didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about the drink menu. There wasn't much personality or engagement, which was disappointing, especially at a newer restaurant that is getting so much attention. We ended up ordering the Money Trees cocktail, which was enjoyable. For food, we ordered several dishes: - calamari was delicious and definitely something I would order again - baba ganoushch which was really good, although I'm personally not a huge fan of the eggplant aftertaste, so I probably wouldn't order that one again. - steak skewers - carrots The absolute standout for me was the squid ink pasta with lobster. This was SO delicious and easily my favorite dish of the night. I would absolutely order it again and highly recommend trying it. The carrots, however, were a miss for me. The carrots themselves were cooked and sautéed really well, and the cream underneath was tasty, but I was completely caught off guard that they were served cold. When I asked if the carrots were supposed to be cold, her response came across as very dismissive and had an attitude to it. As someone who had never been to Nighthawk before, I was simply asking a question. The biggest issue of the night, though, was the lack of attentiveness from our server. Our water glasses were empty. We had finished our first round of drinks. Our server was nowhere to be found at our table for quite some time. What made it even more frustrating was that we were seated in a row of 3 tables, and she was actively attending to the tables on both sides of us but repeatedly passing right by our table. We were only a party of two, so it was especially noticeable. Eventually, I had to flag down another server and ask them to please get the general manager because we needed more water and our server hadn't checked on us. I also want to give credit where credit is due to the general manager who was on duty during our visit. After I expressed my concerns about my experience, he took the time to listen to me and genuinely hear me out. I appreciated that he didn't dismiss my concerns and that he tried his very best to turn the experience around and make things better. That effort did not go unnoticed, and I truly appreciate him taking the time to address my concerns personally. For me, this was incredibly disappointing because I really wanted to have a great experience here. I can understand an occasional delay or a busy shift, but when you're sitting there watching your server consistently attend to the tables around you while your own table is being overlooked, it really affects the overall dining experience. I wanted to love Nighthawk because the food has some real standouts, the space is gorgeous, and the restaurant has clearly generated a lot of excitement online. Great food and beautiful decor can only go so far when the service doesn't match the experience the restaurant is trying to provide. That said, the lack of attentiveness and the attitude we experienced from our server left a lot to be desired. Oh, also try to get a booth too a small stable is overwhelming and narrow.
I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I left pretty disappointed. The interior is beautiful and definitely one of the main reasons I wanted to check it out, but the overall experience didn't live up to the atmosphere. We had a reservation for a specific time, yet still had to wait around 20 minutes to be seated. After that, the service was also quite slow. The restaurant was very busy, and it felt like they may have been understaffed or simply overwhelmed. The food itself was very average and nothing really stood out. What bothered me the most was finding actual dirt still attached to the greens served with the scallops. That's definitely not something I expect to find on my plate. The interior and atmosphere are easily the best part of this place. I could see stopping by for a drink at the bar, but based on this experience, I wouldn't choose it for dinner again.
I had been very excited to try this place because I am kinda a sucker for this restaurant group and I was very intrigued by the aesthetic. The whole place looks like a jungle and you can tell they put a lot of money into decor, the waterfalls, fire torches, and overall vibe really does transport you. Our reservation was for 7:30pm and we arrived about 10 min early, so we went and grabbed a seat at the bar for a cocktail. Our table didn't end up being ready until about 7:55, which wasn't a huge deal to us because we found bar seating. After getting seated, the hostess came by and apologized and brought us out glasses of champagne as an apology which I thought was a great and thoughtful touch. The food also came a bit out of order, the skewer arrived first, and the waitress thought we already got our apps but we hadn't yet. Again, very apologetic. Honestly the food exceeded our expectations! The edamame fatoush salad was 11/10, so unique and fresh and very well balanced. The beets and goat cheese were great too. Overall - I think this place is clearly still working out some kinks, they've only been open for 8 weeks, but I would certainly return! Staff was very kind and it's clear they are working hard. Excited to see how to shapes up in a few more months.
Checked out this new bar in Coronado and it was perfect for a girl's night out! It is an outdoor bar. The ambiance is very pretty and gave me a European / tiki / tropical feel. There are so many nice photo opportunities! I would definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand. We tried the 3 mocktails on the menu, which were very nicely presented! My favorite drink was the agua Fresca (watermelon & strawberry). The coastal returns (honey, lemon, cucumber) and trophy wife (carrot, yogurt, citrus, pineapple, lime) were also refreshing and tasty. We also shared The Grand Souvlaki Platter between 3 people and it was the perfect amount of food! It came with an arrangement of beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetable skewers, along with 2 dips and pita bread. The meat was all very flavorful and the beef was so tender! The bar does get very busy and the service was quite slow, but honestly we didn't mind because we enjoyed the ambiance and had more time to relax and take photos! Our server was also very kind. We were celebrating our friend's birthday and got a complementary customized espresso martini for her at the end of our meal!
A perfect birthday dinner at Night Hawk! I'm so happy I chose Night Hawk for my birthday dinner. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience was wonderful -- the ambiance was beautiful, the food was delicious, and our server was amazing. We ordered the lamb chops, beet salad, and seafood linguine. The beet salad was absolutely incredible -- so delicious that I had to come back the next day just to order it again! The lamb chops and seafood linguine were also flavorful and beautifully prepared. Our waiter was so kind and thoughtful. She surprised me with a birthday drink, which made the evening feel even more special. Night Hawk was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday, and I'm grateful I got to spend such a memorable evening there. I can't wait to come back!
Cool outdoor restaurant at the Baby Grand Hotel with maximalist decor, lots of fire, waterfalls, the works. There's a larger bar in the back but for sit down tables you can make a reservation or add your name to the list at the hostess stand. We waited for open seating at the bar at were provided menus promptly by the bartender. We had just had drinks at Fallen Empire (champagne bar) so only ordered food at Nighthawk and it was around 10pm. Food-wise Mediterranean inspired and we ordered the frites, the fried cauliflower and the octopus. Our frites came out very fast and the nighthawk ranch was good but the frites were kinda cold. The cauliflower and octopus came shortly after and were freshly fried and hot. The cauliflower was the highlight. Our water never got refilled, I had to ask the bartender for more. Come for the vibes and it was very crowded with people taking photo ops everywhere. I'm sure the cocktails at the bar are good - will try next time and make a reservation for sit down dinner.
I went to Night Hawk for brunch, I made a reservation on open table. I was seated right away once I got the hostess. The place is beautiful! The vibe is super cool, reminds me of a bougie Hawaii. They have a very long drink menu, I wanted a mocktail but they were out of the one I wanted that morning, so I ordered another mocktail which was delicious and refreshing just a little too small. The food was good, I definitely want to try more things. The only bad thing was the service. Our service Bryan was amazing!! Super friendly and attentive, but... they're severely understaffed. I only saw 3 servers in the whole restaurant, Bryan was sweating so much, the poor guy was running from table to table. I don't think it's his fault, I think they need more servers. The table next to us received their food before getting their drinks, they finished their food and they still waited for their drinks. For us it was kind of like that, I ordered the mocktail and my mom ordered an Americano, the coffee got to us once we were already eating our food. Reading the reviews, it seems like it's a recurring issue this establishment has. This place has so much potential, they just need to hire more servers.
Located on the main strip, so parking can be difficult but there is valet service at the front. Despite hung right off the main road, the restaurant felt very cozy. The spaces are designed beautifully. You enter and check in - the girl at the front unapologetically admitted she "forgot" to check us in when I went up for an update on our reservation. Other than that, service was very good. We grabbed our Money Tree drinks from the bar while we waited for our table and lounged by the pool of water. The food and drinks were definitely worth the trouble to get here. We came during Sunday brunch, so the menu was different than what I was expecting. The lox on avocado toast was the best I have ever had. The portion was huge, but the ingredients and presentation was worth the price tag. All the food was delicious.
The weather was nice which made the outdoor seating even better! Right when you walk in, the decor is so beautiful. The stoned chairs were a bit incomfortable to sit in. We came for brunch and enjoyed the brunch menu. All the food was ok. Nothing really blew my mind, great. However, the dishes are pretty good for feeding 2-3 persons so family style is suggested. Our waiter and host were all really friendly and informative.
We came to Night Hawk to celebrate our anniversary, and they made it so special. They surprised us with two complimentary espresso martinis featuring our anniversary year! Such a thoughtful touch that really made the night feel celebrated. Our waitress, Kenzie, was truly amazing. She paid attention to every little detail and the customer service overall was exceptional. They need more waitresses like her! The aesthetic of the place is beautiful too, great vibe for a special occasion. We got the kabob platter and it was delicious. For the price, it's decent, though I wish the sauce options were more generous. You have to pay extra for things like hummus or tzatziki, which felt a little nickel-and-dime for a place at this price point. Overall, would definitely recommend Night Hawk for a girls night out or date night. The service alone makes it worth it!

Night Hawk at the Baby Grand hotel is like going back in time to a chic tropical hotel. It has amazing maximalist vibes, including an outdoor pool complete with a man made sandy beach, waterfalls, lush landscaping, "rock boulder" booths and creative tropical cocktails. The service is a bit slow, perhaps because of its recent opening and hoards of eager diners and barflies, but the Bucatini is flavorful and the experience unique. read more
This restaurant is obviously gorgeous. I would recommend if you're only going for a drink or small snack or just want some nice photos. The actual food was overpriced and mediocre. The service is slow, but as they're a new busy restaurant, I'm sure they're still working out the kinks. They also don't have any ketchup but have fries on the menu read more

After playing Golf and Shopping at the Naval Base, we stopped by NIGHT HAWK, at first we tried to go without a reservation and we were told by the lady at the front that we were going to be number 21 on the waiting List and I told my husband that I was just on OPEN TABLE RESERVATION and saw that in 15 minutes there's an available seat for us, so I told my husband to back up and do the reservation right away on Open Table. He went back to the lady at the front desk with his phone on the Open table reservation and we got in within 15 minutes. We were seated near their back Bar area. They have 2 bars, the one in the very back is beautiful. Our server was quick to give us the Menu and I was quick to order our food. Here are the foods I ordered for me, my husband, and my son. *SOUVLAKI PLATTER *LAMB MEAT BALL SPAGHETTI *PORK TENDERLOIN *BABAGHANOUSH *MONEY TREE MOCKTAIL *TROPHY WIFE COCKTAIL *BAKLAVA SUNDAE I was impressed with how fast all of our food came out, but I got so dissapointed with the LAMB MEATBALL SPAGHETTI, it came after 1 HOUR !!! I thought the Spaghetti would be the first one to be done compared to all of the other Meats we ordered. The SOUVLAKI PLATTER has GRILLED CHICKEN , SHRIMPS ,VEGIES ,TENDERLOIN , PITA BREAD ..., but I noticed that the 2 Shrimp skewer sticks that came with our platter was missing a SHRIMP on it, there's 3 on the first stick and 2 on the second stick, and you could obviously see a shrimp was missing since there was an Empty spot in the middle of the 2 shrimps in one of my Souvlaki pic . I called our server and told them about it and when she said no worries I will replace the one shrimp that was missing I thought that she would just give me another stick of Shrimps, but to my surprise she apologized and said that there was no more shrimp in the kitchen and that she replaced it with a whole plate of SALMON if thats okay with us, oh well that's fine with me :) The Souvlaki platter meats some are tender and some are not , but very very light on seasoning, but still good. The Pork tenderloin was a bit burnt, their Babaghanous was delicious. When the LAMB MEATBALLS SPAGHETTI came after 1 HOUR , it looked small in portion, but it was surprisingly a heavy plate to eat, maybe because the Meatballs were big and filled me up good, but the spaghetti alone is also good. Funny thing is that we had to call our server to replace my fork 'coz the person who delivered my Spaghetti gave me a HUGE FORK ;) like those you use as a serving fork for big bowls of Pasta ;) The Salmon we got as a replacement for our missing 1 piece of shrimp was good and moist, so happy that it was not dry. My son and i got the MOCKTAIL and COCKTAIL and they were both good. My husband just had water, he was complaining that the glasses they use for water is very small . We shared the BAKLAVA SUNDAE and this one so good, i like it coz its not overly sweet . All in all, we will come back here again probably 3 months after they open so maybe by that time they are well organized already. They have a Valet parking, but we found one easily in side streets and in front of their restaurant. read more

I'd come back just for the vibes and a drink. The mocktail "coastal returns" was my favorite thing I had. Super unique flavor and refreshing. The food overall was average. I would order differently next time I went. Or not even get food at all and just enjoy the bar. We went specifically for brunch and I think the dinner options may be better. Brunch was lacking in my opinion! As always the atmosphere, decor, music with any consortium holdings establishment is top tier. They do an amazing job immersing you in the atmosphere they're trying to create with each unique space. My biggest complaint: the bathrooms were so dark and the music was so loud. As someone traveling to San Diego, Nighthawk is a super unique experience. As always, the restaurant interior decoration is interesting and very well done. For someone who has been to other restaurants under the CH restaurants, I could definitely identify this as one of the other spots. I would really like to come back to check out the speakeasy. We did enjoy our brunch. The flatbread was a bit small for the price point, but the hotcake and breakfast sandwich were fairly good portion sizes. The food was good. My drink (Money Trees) was very large, but mostly reminded me of the cocktail they serve at Madison/Madi. Contrary to other reviews, we didn't have any issues with the service at all. Parking is hard in Coronado, especially in the summer - plan ahead. read more

We had an open table reservation and they honored my request to have a booth even though they were busy. It was just the two of us and they were going to place us in a tight area. I was grateful they moved us to a booth. The personal expresso martini was so cute and the birthday dessert was great! The ambiance was of a liberache vibe and the bathrooms had mirrors. Very busy but fun vibe. The water fountain can be a tad noisy but we were still able to hear our conversation. read more
Night Hawk was, for lack of a better word, a weird experience. Not necessarily bad, just... strange. First, the positives. We loved that they offer valet because parking in that area is incredibly difficult. Valet was $18 and honestly worth it. When you walk in, there's a front bar where you can grab a drink while waiting to be seated. The atmosphere is definitely eclectic and unique. That said, the setup was confusing. There are multiple bars with different drink menus, which sounds cool in theory, but if you order at the front bar, your server at the table may have no idea what drink you ordered because they only know the menu from the back bar. It made for a disjointed experience. The breakfast menu was honestly disappointing. Very few protein options, which made it difficult to find something substantial to eat. We arrived around 11:45 and asked for the lunch menu, only to be told lunch doesn't start until 3 PM. Who eats lunch at 3 PM? At that point it feels more like dinner service. The seating situation was also rough. The tables are very small and appear to be made of rock or concrete, permanently cemented into place. They might comfortably seat four, but not much more than that. If you're a larger person, squeezing in could be very uncomfortable or straight up impossible! We were initially seated directly in the sun and asked for an umbrella. Although most umbrellas seemed reserved for larger tables, they were kind enough to move us to another table with shade, which we genuinely appreciated. I also felt bad for the servers. They were wearing oversized suit jackets and pants in warm weather and visibly sweating while serving food. It honestly looked miserable and wasn't the most appetizing thing to watch. In a beach town, lighter summer uniforms would make so much more sense! Now for the food because this was the saving grace. The appetizers were fantastic. The tzatziki with pita was fresh and flavorful without being overloaded with mint like so many places do. The cauliflower bites were delicious and perfectly cooked. The frites were good, though nothing particularly memorable. Because I struggled to find something appealing on the breakfast menu, I ordered the Greek yogurt, which was beautifully presented inside half of a cantaloupe with fresh berries and granola. Everyone else thought their meals were okay, but nothing standout. One challenge was the oversized plates on tiny tables. Between appetizers, drinks, and entrées, we barely had room. The drink menu was also a bit bizarre. One cocktail was actually really good, and they even gave us a sample, but then told us they had run out of it when we tried to order. Super disappointing. However, we were celebrating 3 birthdays and they brought out these cute personalized drinks for the birthday ladies so that was a very nice touch and the drink was yummy! The overall vibe just wasn't for me. Menus with pictures of bugs? Not exactly appetizing. The atmosphere felt odd and hard to understand. It was definitely an experience, but unfortunately not one I see myself returning for. read more
Great location to get together with friends and share plates. The outdoor atmosphere is impeccable the fire the sculptures the over the top decor is fun. I truly enjoy the Saganaki. We had a combination of chicken kebabs, shrimp, and pork tenderloin. I would say my favorite was the chicken. The homemade pita is amazing and the service is impeccable. They were there to fill our glasses every minute we looked. read more

Phenomenal food and ambiance! Gotta say the stone seats and heavy wood chairs are appealing to the eye, but aren't especially comfortable. Service was ok, but not outstanding during our visit. Nice beverage list, thoughtful menu with a lot of very healthy, delicious options for mains and salads. The beet salad is a must-have if you're a fan of the oft-maligned root vegetable. Beautiful presentation. Greek salad also beautiful, and both big enough to share. read more

If you like Seneca in SD you'll LOVE this spot. The ambiance, decorations, and attention to detail made the entire dining experience feel immersive. The food was delicious but our party did have a miscommunication with our server on the extra portion and up charges for extra skewers on our salmon plates which was already steep. There were plenty of great spots for photos and I would definitely come back here. read more
The vibe, food, and service were all just amazing. We had a reservation around 4 PM and got seated right away, and our waitress Jewel came over. She was awesome, so nice, kind, and thoughtful. She suggested some drinks, and we ordered the mezze platter, which was so filling we didn't even get to eat dinner. Our friend got a birthday cone and a custom espresso martini for her birthday. We had so much fun here! Thankfully, we went on a Friday around 2:30 PM, so we were able to be seated rather quickly, but I can tell this place could get crowded during peak hours for sure. It's a beautiful spot & I love the waterfalls & the insect / butterfly theme of the menu & plate ware. The color choices throughout the place is immaculate. The food & drinks were also delicious & we loved our server, Christian. He was such a nice, thoughtful, fun, & engaging guy. Came here second week after the grand opening. It was a gorgeous day in Coronado and was able to have some lunch here. First of all, the place looks amazing. I love all the decor that CH has with all their restaurants and hotels. If you've been to La Fayette, this gives the same kind of vibes. We had reservations and like the other reviews, we still had to wait about 20 mins. But really didn't bother us since we weren't in a hurry to get anywhere else. After about 5 -7 minutes, We decided to head to the bar and get a cocktail while we waited. We also took that time to look around and take pictures. Our server was super friendly, however, took some time for her to come and take our order. Water came out immediately. We ordered the Mezze platter, scallop crudo, lobster with squid ink pasta and calamari. They were all actually delicious. Spectacular? No. But it was good. We ordered the popcorn cauliflower, but that never came. We asked about it and still never came. So we had to cancel it. Overall, if you come for the vibes, you will definitely enjoy it. Is the food pricey? Yes! But it's in Coronado and meant to attract tourists. If you know that coming in, just get a cocktail, enjoy the view and eat somewhere else. I gave 3 stars because service was slow, wait time to get seated and we didn't get one of our orders. I plan to return and hopefully they work out all the kinks by then. read more

Came on the weekend what a big mistake that was completely packed restaurant. It took 30 minutes just to get a drink in, but I totally understand since it was very busy restaurant the only busy restaurant in Coronado.. it turns out that there's two bars a big bar in a small bar. A small bar is right when you get in to the right of the hostess the big bars towards the back by the back very important the big bar you could eat and drink in a small bar is limited drinks service so far is outstanding Rachel Asia and Peter . Did not like the croquettes at all fortunately, they had no flavor girls next to us had a Parmesan cheese pizza so pita thing they said also that it was whatever so I'm more for the drinks than the food, but the ambience was fabulous read more
Hottest new spot in San Diego, absolutely stunning. The moment you walk in you are transferred into a another world or an era. Every detail was meticulously designed, with so much attention into it. We had a reservation for Sunday and it was super busy. As for food we started with tzatziki, French fries and Greek salad, and everything was sooo delicious. For entree we've had grilled shrimp skewers. tenderloin skewers and lamb meatball pasta. No room for desert but hopefully next time. Wine and cocktails were amazing. 100/10 and can not wait to go back! read more
My husband and I visited yesterday for an early dinner. And we had an incredible experience. I'm not sure why so many people have so much to say. Obviously any new place will have long wait times until everything adjusts but that doesn't take away from the amazing service the beautiful scenery and the food. My friends and I came here during their second week opening, and the restaurant wasn't running smoothly yet. We had reservations and there were several open tables but we waited about half an hour to be seated- the hostess lost our ticket and had trouble figuring out how to reprint a new one just to seat us, so several groups that arrived after us were seated before us. Once we were seated our server was very nice but warned us that things were running a little slow, so we ordered our drinks and those also took about another 30 minutes to come out. The food and drink were tasty and the decor is tiki meets Lafayette retro cool, but I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you have a lot of time to hang out and don't mind a long wait. read more

Only issue is the gravel in between the stone walkway seriously needs to be glued down because walking around the restaurant in heels is impossible. Very easy to slip and fall. read more
This is definitely a hip, happening place. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. There were four of us, including me. We walked around and managed to find seats in the rear bar. Both the bar and bathrooms are exquisite, and the rest of the outside space feels like you're in Europe on the coast. Next time I would definitely make a reservation. I didn't have any food but all four of us got different drinks. I was pretty bummed they were out of the first three drinks I asked for, including both rum cocktails. I understand they just opened, so why aren't they prepared for the influx of patrons? read more

My boyfriend and I drove down to visit this place from Irvine, OC. We left at 2PM and didn't get there till 5PM due to accidents and traffic on the way. I tried calling multiple times but got no one to answer my calls. However, once I used the messaging on Open Table, they were nice enough to extend our reservation to 5PM. I told them that I was sorry for the inconvenience and it was our celebration for the beginning or summer, as we are both teachers. Mind you, it was a Thursday not a weekend. After they sat us, we got complimentary champagnes to ease our stress and celebrate the summer. The hostess told our server. They were so nice! Such amazing services! The food was good. I loooove the chicken and shrimp kabobs along with the lobster linguine! Drinks were fantastic and our server was a delight! He even helped us get a reservation to their speakeasy champagne bar- Fallen Empire. The vibe checks out and I would come back 100%! Fantastic place to eat with a very unique atmosphere. Don't let the maximalism design let you prejudge the food. The food is simply a fantastic and declious mix of Greek and Mediterranean. The whole fish was perfectly made, spaghetti and lamb meatballs were great for kids and the lobster squid ink linguine was so good! The Mezze Platter we got as a starter is huge and was just too much for only 4 people. But! Tasted amazing! read more
Great atmosphere but food unfortunately is just ok for the very very high price. Very expensive for what you get, portions of meet for $80.00 rather small. Drink service at bars was glacial in speed. Server was solid. I had the two sampler platters for both the appetizer and for the meal. There was enough food for 4 between the platters. My chicken was slightly undercooked, but the steak and shrimp were perfect. Best thing was the thick "pita" like bread. Gave us a ton of olives...like an entire jar of them. Plenty of food to feed 4 but very light on the protein. $265.00 check for the three drinks and the sampler platters. Liked the Fred Flintstone bench seating. They made us wait 30 minutes for our table for a 5:30 reservation. $36.00 for a straight on the rocks cheap Bourbon. Oh and parking on Coronado is very sporty as many residents do not have garages and park on the street. read more

I was so excited to visit Night Hawk with my girlfriends. As one of the newest hotspots in Coronado, we couldn't resist after seeing how stunning the restaurant looked online. To say they're absolutely crushing it in the atmosphere department would be an understatement. The space is gorgeous, the music is great, and you really feel transported when you're there. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of the experience we expected. Right from the start, the host who checked us in seemed to have an attitude and gave the impression that she absolutely hated her job. We had a 9:00 PM reservation and were told they were running slightly behind and that we'd receive a text when our table was ready. We ended up waiting 45 minutes to be seated, which is by far the longest I've ever waited despite having a reservation. Once we were finally seated, it quickly became clear why. It took about 15 minutes before anyone greeted our table, another 10 minutes just to receive water, and nearly 30 more minutes before we were able to place our order. We were never given a cocktail menu and had to look it up online ourselves. Thankfully, once our order was in, the food arrived fairly quickly. The food itself was enjoyable, but a bit overpriced for what it was. Everything was good, but you're definitely paying for the ambiance and aesthetics more than the cuisine. What really stood out was how inattentive the service felt throughout the night. Not once did anyone clear empty plates or glasses, leaving our table cluttered. Our server repeatedly told us she would come back to clear things, refill our water, or check on us, but those promises never materialized. Instead, she'd disappear for 20-30 minutes and then return asking the exact same questions again. Despite having a 9:00 PM reservation, we didn't leave until almost 11:45 PM. It took nearly 30 minutes just to receive the check and pay, and another 15 minutes waiting for a box for our leftovers. We almost left without them because, by that point, it was nearly midnight and simply wasn't worth waiting any longer. I understand that Night Hawk is brand new and that Friday nights are busy, so I'm willing to give them some grace. But I've honestly never felt this neglected at a restaurant before. That said, the atmosphere is undeniably beautiful and the space is fabulous for photos. Parking can be challenging, so I recommend using the hotel's valet or trying your luck with street parking. I'd definitely like to come back once the initial hype dies down to see if service improves, because the vibe and design alone make this place worth experiencing. Hopefully, with some time, the service will catch up to how incredible the restaurant looks. read more

The owners of The Lafayette Hotel have never missed with me, I am not a local to San Diego but have made it to many of their bars, restaurants, hotel. I am a huge fan of their work. I did not stay at the baby grand hotel itself but did want to visit the restaurant. Upon arriving with a reservation of course, I waited a bit to get sat at a table, once seated we were told that water would be brought to us as we looked over the menu, we did not receive water until 25 minutes later, from then our food came soon after. The cauliflower was okay! Not for me, but the other food items were lovely and the dishes made for good photos and appeal. The bucatini and ravioli were enjoyable. The drinks were okay , the presentation is everything of course. We ended with the baklava pistachio dessert which was not overwhelming or artificially sweet which I appreciated. Overall food was good! I just think the customer service was surprisingly lacking on this day. read more

In terms of atmosphere and ambience this place is super cool love the outdoor seating and all the rock seating and there's a fire lamp everywhere you turn there's literally fire all over this place. It is so pretty. The amount of detail they put into their silverware plating, cocktails menus was truly beautiful. I see why this place has the hype. The downfall is the service and the food absolutely. We ordered two appetizers. One of them never made it out. We let our server know that our appetizer never came out. We're assuming it's because he never put it in. So we enjoyed our one appetizer, which was the cauliflower. And waited and waited until a manager showed up to let us know that they're sorry about the situation and that our server decided to disappear after we let him know that he didn't put in our second appetizer and we had to not only wait 45 minutes just to get him back to the table to then put in our actual menu order so we were there for over 2 1/2 hours because of this. They didn't handle it as greatly as they could, and professional professionally as they could. The food was very mediocre. The service was literally a two out of 5. So it was very disappointing. read more

Booked a table here through OpenTable for my birthday brunch. We arrived right at 10 AM, and despite there only being a few people there, it still took about 10 minutes for anyone to seat us. They were also still drilling tables and setting things up, so the restaurant definitely did not feel fully prepared yet. Although they advertise brunch, there actually wasn't a brunch menu available, so we ended up ordering from the dinner menu. They were also out of several items including the chicken and shrimp skewers, watermelon salad, and a few other dishes. On top of that, they were out of three cocktails. The kofta croquettes were also labeled as lamb, but they were actually beef. For a higher-end restaurant during its grand opening weekend, I honestly expected things to be a little more organized. A soft opening probably would've helped work out a lot of these issues beforehand. What we ordered: * Tzatziki: Served with two large, warm pita breads. Delicious and a great way to start the meal. * Kofta Croquettes: These were actually beef, not lamb as advertised. There were four of them, and the dipping sauce was nice, but overall they lacked flavor. * Beet and Goat Cheese Salad: Light, refreshing, and probably my favorite food item we tried. I think there may have been persimmons in it alongside the beets, and whatever the fruit was, it worked really well. * Beef Tenderloin Skewers: Tasty overall, though slightly overcooked. * Bucatini: Light with a nice flavor, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the food was just mediocre. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. The drinks, however, completely stole the show. I would honestly come back just for the cocktails. * Jungle Bird: Absolutely incredible. One of the best drinks we tried. Light, refreshing, unique, and hard to describe in the best way possible. * Spanakopita Punch: Easily the best cocktail of the night. You could really taste the dill, and it was smooth, unique, and extremely well-balanced. * House Guest: Good tequila cocktail, but nowhere near as memorable as the other two. They also didn't do anything special for my birthday, which was a little disappointing considering I specifically booked a birthday brunch reservation. The entire experience also took about three hours from arrival to leaving, which felt way too long for brunch. Our waiter was kind, and the food itself came out at reasonable times, but overall service was very slow. To be fair, they had only been open for two days, so we weren't expecting perfection. That said, the space itself is absolutely adorable. Based on the decor and layout, I was expecting more of a Mexican-inspired concept, so the Mediterranean menu was definitely a surprise. Overall: beautiful restaurant, okay food, incredible cocktails, but they still have some major growing pains to work through. read more

This place is really amazing. Great place for date night/celebrating something special. We celebrated our wedding anniversary and everything was perfect. "Don't walk, RUN." That was the advice from the table next to us as they were finishing their meal. They had asked for jalapeños or serranos just to give the food some flavor. My girlfriend and I arrived at 5:25 p.m. for our 5:30 reservation and, after being seated and ordering, waited nearly 45 minutes for what was supposed to be a beet and goat cheese salad to start. During that time, we conversed, enjoyed each other's company, and took in the nice ambiance, but the service was unbelievably bad. By 6:15 p.m., after still not receiving our food, never having our water glasses refilled, and receiving no meaningful status update from our waiter, we looked at each other, informed the front managers we were leaving, and walked out. The atmosphere may be nice, but the service was horrific and the food seemed underwhelming at best. Fortunately, we dodged a bullet and ended up eating somewhere else for dinner that had delicious food. Save yourself the trip "Don't walk, RUN." read more

3:15 reservations and we weren't seated until 3:50. Admittedly, I'm not great with that, but I get it. The previous reviews warned me that drinks were slow, so we made sure to order those right away. They were great. But YES...order those first The food was tasty all around. We had the Souvlaki plate, hummus, and the croquettes. All excellent. The atmosphere is really cool, they just need to figure out who they are, what they are, and how they are going to make it work. Even the servers are confused by what's going on. I look forward to going back in a few months and seeing what they have become. My advice would be to give it a while before you go there. Or go there and plan to sit at the bar. The hotel and restaurant are absolutely stunning and gave me a coastal version of The Lafayette Hotel & Club vibes. The design and attention to detail throughout the space are beautiful, and while waiting for our reservation we enjoyed exploring the property a bit. That said, the overall experience was unfortunately very disorganized. We had a 6:45 reservation but weren't seated until 7:30. Once seated, our server was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the menu , she truly did a great job throughout the night. I ordered a mocktail, but after a few sips the taste seemed off. I later found out it had accidentally been made with alcohol due to a mix-up at the bar. While mistakes happen and this clearly wasn't our server's fault, it was still disappointing, especially since I'm not drinking right now and the drink tasted nothing like how the mocktail was described. The food itself was good, but the timing of service felt very inconsistent. We received the hummus appetizer first, but the vegetables that accompanied it didn't arrive until about 15 minutes later. During that time, one person in our group had already received her entrée. Another entrée came out much later, and then our salad starter arrived after that. By the time everyone else had finished eating, I still hadn't received my entrée and ultimately decided to cancel it. Our server was very apologetic and kind enough to have it boxed up for me once it was ready. My friend ordered salmon, and when she recieved it, as she dropped the food, she mentioned they're out of salmon and that this was a white fish. Kind of strange to mention that as the entree was dropping instead of making sure that substitution was okay. We also noticed glass on one of the seat cushions, which was concerning. Overall, we completely understand that they've just opened and are likely still working through operational issues. There's clearly a lot of potential here , the atmosphere is gorgeous and the food was enjoyable , but the long delays and service inconsistencies made for a frustrating experience. I'd love to see them work through the kinks, but as of now I'm not sure if I would return. read more

BABYYYYY, let me tell y'all something! The star of tonight's show was THEE Miss Sabrina! Now don't get me wrong, Night Hawk is absolutely stunning from the moment you walk through those doors, but honey, Miss Sabrina took our girls' night from great to unforgettable. First things first, Night Hawk has been sitting on my San Diego bucket list since the day I got here. I heard all the buzz about the grand opening, and before I deploy out, I knew I had to see what all the fuss was about. Well let me tell you something, the fuss was justified! Night Hawk is THE moment. The place to be. The atmosphere? Gorgeous. The music? Vibing. The food? Delicious. The people? Beautiful energy all around. Every corner of this place feels intentional and stylish. From the gorgeous bar area to the beautiful pool, to even the bathrooms. Which yes, deserve a mention because they are THAT nice. Everything was perfection. Even the fire flames! And can we talk about the staff? Baby, they came to WORK. Everyone was attentive, professional, and looking fabulous in those pink and mauve velvet uniforms. It felt like hospitality mixed with Hollywood glamour. One thing that truly impressed our table was how seriously they took food allergies. One person in our group has dietary restrictions, and every single time a dish arrived, the staff made sure everyone knew there were absolutely no peaches involved. That level of attention and care means everything when you're dining out, and it made us feel safe and valued. Now back to my girl, Miss Sabrina. Honey, Sabrina was serving customer service, personality, and excellence all at the same time. She gave fantastic recommendations, checked on us at just the right moments, and somehow made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant. That's a gift. And then she went above and beyond in a way that absolutely melted my heart. I am a fan of The Love Boat, and when she noticed how much I loved the adorable little Love Boat paper table mat, she made sure I got one to take home. It may seem like a small gesture, but it's those thoughtful little moments that people remember. She didn't have to do that, but she did, and that's exactly what separates good service from exceptional service. As a little country girl from the South, California continues to surprise me with hidden gems, and Night Hawk is definitely one of them. The food was fantastic, the ambiance was immaculate, the service was top-tier, and the memories we made tonight will stay with me long after I leave San Diego. Thank you, Night Hawk, for an amazing evening. And Miss Sabrina, baby, if I'm lucky enough to come back before I leave town, you better still be there because you've got yourself some new regulars! 10/10. No notes. Just love. read more

If you go to a restaurant during opening week, you should know in advance it won't be perfect. It's silly to expect otherwise. Night Hawk did pretty well in that regard. The place is amazing, the servers were super nice and attentive, and the food was pretty good. We had the kofta croquettes, the spinach bread, goat cheese and beets, the chicken skewers (this was the only dish that was mid; the portion was small- about 6 very small pieces of chicken- and the presentation looked a little sad, especially compared to Leila's), and the baklava sundae. The kitchen and bar were slow, but these are the kind of small glitches that will most likely be worked out over the next few days. The potential is definitely there! read more
