This has quickly become one of my favorite cafes in the city. It was recommended to me by a friend and now I can't stop going. The cafe itself is small (no public bathroom) but bright, colorful, and beautifully decorated. I have only tried the dirty banana chai and it just hits every time! SO HAPPY that nirvana soul is in the city! i stopped by on opening day and was welcomed by a warm staff. the place is bright and cheery with dope art on the walls. the drink menu is extensive and the pastries are from a local baker. i got the ube latte and sweet potato pie - both sooo good. i chatted with the owners and they gave me a sample of the banana chai - different and delicious! i'll definitely get that next time. i'll be back to this gem and will keep spreading the word about this new & black owned addition to the city! read more

I never had such a delicious coffee as their Africano, which is their version of a "cortado" Carmina Dominique are the best baristas in the world so amazing, friendly and awesome, they were very attentive, even asked me how my coffee was, absolutely beautiful coffee shop with nice, soft music playing in the background, definitely coming back here, extraordinary experience. read more

Having visited the shop in San Jose on a few occasions, I was excited to check out the shop in San Francisco. The location is close to the Giants ball park so I'm sure they get tons of business during game days. That being said, I could see finding a parking spot could be a challenge on game days. The decor, branding, look and feel is similar to the San Jose location but a lot smaller inside. I ordered my favorite, banana chai and it was good but not as good as what I get in San Jose. Thinking they put an extra bit of love in the cup there - ha ha ! Overall, I'm glad to see black owned business expansion here in the Bay Area and will continue to roll through and support ! read more

I spilled my coffee about 5 seconds after receiving it, clumsy me. The owner was sitting nearby and immediately went inside to get me a new one, she acted so promptly and kindly. I have been coming to this location since it opened in Mission Bay but today was the last straw. Every time I come here on Wednesday mornings there is a barista that always gets my order wrong and does not take accountability when told about the mistake. I am usually not the type to complain but it's been a consistent thing with this particular barista. I usually order the nirvana peach and iced banana chai with oat milk drinks, and churro waffles. When the order is right it tastes amazing, no complaints. Today I ordered the same thing and asked for no coffee in my banana chai. When I brought the drink back I told her that it had coffee in it and she said "no it doesn't but I'll make you a new one anyways". Her response was unprofessional and took no accountability for her mistake. This wasn't the first time. Another time I ordered the Nirvana peach and the tea tasted different. She told me it's the same so I assumed it was because there was no peach syrup in it. So I asked for her to remake it, she tells me next time order it extra sweet and she hands me the syrup in a cup. I never have to order extra syrup because I don't like too much sweetness. I added the syrup she gave me and it honestly didn't taste the same, actually made it taste worst. I had no energy to go back to get my money back. I am a tea drinker and know when tea has been sitting out for too long or old. I stopped ordering it for a while then wanted to see if they changed the type of tea and it actually tasted how I remembered, which confirmed that I was right before about the tea being off tasting. Another time there was a fake eyelash on top of my waffle. It was husband that found it in his waffle actually so we stopped ordering the waffles for a while. Upon observation I don't see them wearing gloves when they handle the food, just tongs. Also it always feels like I'm pulling teeth when I ask for a neighborhood discount. If it's something you don't want to offer, simply state that. Outside of these complaints, I do like the music and art in the cafe. Usually greeted when I come to the register depending on who is behind the register. I want to continue supporting black owned businesses but this was the last straw. Unfortunately I will not be continuing to come to this location but if I'm in San Jose I might drop by again. They were super hospitable and made me want to come back. Do better. When the customer complains, believe them. Don't make them feel like they are liars and trying to make your job harder. My feedback is intentional and hope they can learn from this. read more

I was so excited to see a new coffee shop opening here, and now that I've had a chance to stop in, I can't wait to be a regular. The shop itself is beautifully decorated and has a great vibe. The fact that this place doesn't have a line out the door each morning makes me ashamed for this neighborhood and whatever everyone's seeking out in their boring bougie café experience because this is it right here. I've been here 3 times and genuinely left happier each time because the people working and hanging out there were giving such good vibes. Awesome, creative flavors. I love the Golden Child (hot or iced). This last time I got the bacon and cheddar waffle and let me tell you, my nirvana soul left my body. Put a little bit of butter on her and rip those squares into their little fours and dip them in the syrup and eat it like toast if you're a pro. Salty, fatty, sweet, crispy and somehow also fluffy. I've found Nirvana! My husband loved the hazelnut mocha while I enjoyed a perfect cold brew. We were in a hurry so just chose readymade pastries to go - absolutely loved the sweet potato pie.
