The dumplings were tasty & crispy, the Dan Dan noodles had a great peanut flavor & spice level, and the spicy beef noodle soup had lots of tender beef and yummy broth. My husband usually has to add chili oil to all his meals but he loved the spiciness of everything. To drink, the green tea with lime was sooo tasty, not too sweet and really refreshing. Wendy was our server and she was amazing! Her recommendations were phenomenal and she was so kind. The whole staff was very attentive and great at refilling drinks or anything we needed. The restaurant was clean and well organized, and had napkins and chopsticks at the table. They also were wonderfully kind with our 3 year old. When they brought his popcorn chicken, it was a little hot -- so they brought him a tiny fan to cool it off! He was watching my phone on the table -- so they brought him a phone stand to prop it up! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs with this one! The braised beef noodle soup is a MUST if you enjoy a little spicy kick. So I came a Monday night and surprised to see several tables. The place is small so if you go on a holiday or weekend there will be a line out the door. Most of the low star reviews here are people complaining about service or being offended about something the place did. Food is good. The skewers were bomb we did basic beef chicken and some wrapped kale idk. Then we need two beef noodles. Really good. The dry noodles looked good to try next time. Was on our way to Chodang when my friend noticed the open sign on this new restaurant in the same plaza as we were exiting the highway. Haven't heard about it since the entrance is on the side of the plaza and pretty hidden and looks like they opened in the last week or two, but for a Monday dinner they surprisingly had a decent number of customers coming in and out for a small restaurant that's new and hard to see from the main plaza entrance. The decor is...interesting. It's like it was going for fancy/almost club-y with this silver foil wall and modern low black pleather seats but I've realized a lot of newer mainland Chinese restaurants that serve street/comfort food tend to have trendy/loud decor which is a funny juxtaposition lol. Theres a drink menu but it's in Chinese only-- I had my friend read it for me and I got a milk tea that came in a cute character bottle with some lychee jellies at the bottom. There's no pictures of the noodle dishes but they've got a bunch of regional Chinese noodle dishes and most are on the spicy side so let them know if you can't handle spice. I wasn't expecting my cold noodles to be spicy and couldn't handle it well so the server offered to remake it with no spice. She was really friendly and gave us suggestions, but didn't seem super confident in English. The eggplant dish was not at all what we were expecting - I assumed it was similar to garlic eggplant that's at most Chinese restaurants but this was actually a Chinese eggplant that was sliced and fried and then coated in different colored sauces. It was fruity and odd but weirdly addicting. We suspect they're kewpie-mayo-based sauces and the bright red one is some sort of raspberry or dragonfruit sauce. My friend and I both overall liked the food, her really liking her braised beef noodle soup and now wanting to go back to try every noodle dish on the menu haha so we'll be back for sure! read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Took us nearly 40 minutes to get our order placed. Our waitress rolled her eyes at us and snapped at us when we couldn't hear her over the incredibly noisy atmosphere, leaving us feeling hurt and embarrassed. Not once did she check in on us and not once was our water refilled. After seeing many good reviews, we were really looking forward to eating at this restaurant, but left feeling disappointed and unwelcome. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even good enough to make up for the awful service we experienced. The food was by no means bad, but it definitely wasn't remarkable. read more

My friend and I went there on a whim. We found the place online. I was surprised that it was actually an authentic Chinese food place. The fried buns are one of my favorite snacks from childhood. The wonton soup tasted just like the wonton soup in taiwan. The server said it was meant for kids because it's a lighter flavor but I still really enjoyed it. But $15 for a noodle soup with 4 miniscule bites of beef that are smaller than 2 McD chicken nuggets combined. Skewers are doused with the same house marinade sauce, which is tiring. No. 1 Noodles in Plano (on Legacy) has changed my life. The menu features specialty noodle dishes from different regions of China. There is also a case to choose skewers that magically transform into the most delicious street food I have ever had. The lunch special is $21 and includes a huge main, an app and a drink. But, you can also order a la carte from the menu. I ordered the Dan Dan noodle soup, the fried dumplings and the iced jasmine milk tea (which had flowers in it). All were outstanding. My husband ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, seaweed salad and an iced coffee. The soup was so delicious. The seaweed salad was very thick, but it was well seasoned. I am sure when I have it a couple more times, it will be delightful. The skewers changed my life- I chose the chicken and the Chinese sausage. They were around $3 each and are wildly delicious, perfectly crunchy and seasoned with a chili sauce that I will be thinking about until the next time we return. Our waitress was Rebecca, who was a warm and welcoming host. She helped guide us through the menu and was so cheerful when we asked a million questions. When I walked in I was excited to try this place out. Looking at all the ratings I thought this was a place to go to but was I wrong and the reviews seem like it was not what it was so hyped up to be. It was full but we did get a table right away. But for some reason the hospitality and service was really lacking. The server was rude, and loud. When we asked her questions about the menu she didn't have an answer for us and she never even tried to answer it or find out. She did not mande us feel welcomed in there it was like she hated her job. That's what it felt like from all of their staff. The milk tea boba drink we received was sour and if you look at the shelves all there drinks are left out not iced or refrigerated. The name by itself is miss leading. This is not the best noodle spot it's far from that. This place really left a bad taste in my mouth and the experience was not pleasant. If I can rate this place lower than a one star I would. It's an embarrassment to have servers that don't know the menu and what is in their drinks. And on top of everything if you have a large party they charge you for gratuity for the non service that they give you. I had to ask for a refill of water each time and they don't even check on you. I WILL NEVER COME BACK. This place is way too overrated. Don't get fooled by their decorations. The food is not even that good. I don't like that they put the skewers out for everyone to grab by their own. Is this sanitary? The skewers are dried and tough. We ordered the intestine rice noodles and beef noodles. The noodles are hard and not many pieces of meat in there. If you get the intestines rice noodles, the intestines has this weird texture. Doesn't taste like the normal intestines. Portion is small and not worth the price. Their service is the worst. When we sat down, no one gave us menu or water until I waved down a waiter 10 mins after we got seated. The menu said that you get to have 1 free add on noodles if you ordered a soup noodle. We waited for almost 30 mins and they still haven't gave us the add on noodles. When we asked, they said they were too busy and the noodles require a long time to cook. REALLY? The table next to us sat down way after us and they already got their add on noodles. I would give Zero star if I could. The tables are so close to each other, place is small and too crowded. Seems like they don't even want to turn up the AC when it's 95 degrees outside.
