Hot summer day and was craving noodle street again. Decided to give it a try once more. Went in at the off hour around 4 which is not quite lunch or dinner let's just say like a snack lol. We walked in and was greeted by the employee. We sat down and they quickly came to get our order. We ordered the famous tomato egg knife cut noodles and fried tofu also cucumber salad and finally fried chicken wings. The food came out quickly and it was delicious ~ the customer service was great and we felt that before we can ask for more napkins or more water they came and filled it up before even asking them. We were in Pasadena for the day and decided to stop here for dinner because of all the positive reviews. We arrived around 7pm, and we were immediately seated. We decided to share a Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and Beef Roll Pancake. The soup was extremely flavorful and the beef shank was tender. I also liked the beef roll since the pancake was crispy and paired well with the beef. I did want to try other items on their menu, but we were already full from the two dishes. Honestly, the portions and the food here is absolutely amazing. In terms of receiving my food, I got everything quickly after I placed my order; but besides that the service was horrible. I was seated pretty quick which was good, it was kinda busy but it slowed down throughout my time there. It took them a while to even take my drink order, and I ended up placing my food and drink order at the same time because I was worried that they wouldn't come around a lot. I guess I was right. After I finished my food and drink, I cleaned it up and set it at the edge of my table to make it easier for the employees to clear the table (also, to hint that I was done since a good amount of time had passed). No one came by or looked my way so that I could let them know that I had been ready to get the check/to pay. Finally I got someone's attention and he came over and just made a face and stared at me. Mind you, all I said was, "excuse me." He didn't say anything, so I asked if I could get the check or bill as I was done eating. He didn't say a word and just handed me the device I could pay on and walked away. I completed the transaction, thanked the employees on the way out, and left. Weird service experience overall, but like I said, do come here for the food. The place itself is pretty clean and nice too. Loved the food here. What can I say? Delicious noodle dishes with very generous portions. We started with the two teas. I got the Black Peach and I loved it. Super refreshing and not too sweet. We then started with the Cucumber Salad and the Potato Rolled Shrimp. Both were excellent. Delicious and fresh. The shrimp went perfect with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. The salad had a bomb garlic tangy/sweet sauce with cilantro. Loved this dish. I got the Dry Cold Beef Noodle dish and it was perfect. Very good sized and filling dish. My girlfriend got the Original Beef Noodle soup. Her dish had some spice to it. I love a little spice so I put a little chili oil on mine. But her dish was a big portion for her. She couldn't finish it. The restaurant itself is super clean with two individual bathrooms. This place is also old school Asian. I went to the bathroom and passed by the kitchen and there's two old Asian dudes sitting on buckets eating noodles out of their bowls just hanging out and talking lol. Service is simple. Do you like noods? Well, this is a pretty good spot in Old Town Pasadena. Parking can be a challenge, so I recommend the Park & Walk Garages. There are two around the area, both are $1 for 2 hours, plus another $2 for each additional hour. The closest park +walk parking garage is Schoolhouse Parking Facility, which is about a 3-minute walk, so super close. In terms of Noodle Street, I appreciate that you can choose your own noodles, including knife-cut, flat, standard round, and triangle noodles. My personal favorites are the flat (think fettuccine) and knife-cut noodles. In terms of the food, we ordered the most popular dishes including the Spicy Beef Noodles, Spring Cold Noodles, and their beef roll pancake. The food overall is good, the service is good, and the place is nice and clean. The prices are a bit more pricey in Pasadena compared to other cities in the San Gabriel Valley like Monterey Park and San Gabriel, but overall, it's good. read more

We got the wide noodles for the beef stir fry and the noodles were great! They were great texturally. The beef roll pancake was great! The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. It is tough to find parking. It is metered or by app called passport: a dark blue square with 3 white shapes and a yellow circle on the bottom corner. You enter the allotted time you expect to park, you can always add time if you need. Unless they cap the time frame. You will need your license plate number. It was part of the plan, to drive 30 miles from the SFV to have lunch at Noodle St, in Pasadena. I was lucky to grab a paid street parking spot very close to the restaurant. I was in no hurry and fed the parking meter for 2 hours. I had a hunch that it would be worth it. Walking in, there is a good crowd, with more coming in and going out. One cannot miss the open glass kitchen at the back of the restaurant. The menu is limited, but contains numerous enticing items. I had researched this place before arrival, so I wasted no time in ordering 3 dishes, but did so one by one, so I could savor each bite, without it getting cold and at my own pace. I started with the Potato String Shrimp (5 pieces), that had nice and crisp potato strands on the outside, with the shrimp succulent and flavorful on the inside. Every bite had a satisfying crunch. The accompanying sweet and sour sauce was similar (if not identical) to the bottled lumpia sauce that is available in Asian grocery stores. My second choice was the lamb skewers. I asked for them spicy. They are grilled with cumin and chili powder. The meat portions are small on each skewer. While they did have good taste and flavor, many parts of each skewer were chewy and undercooked. Still, I could not stop eating them. My last order was the Noodles with Minced Beef Sauce. It is prepared with onions, garlic and standard noodles. If there was a sauce, I did not see it, or complain. As such, the flavor was mild, distinct and highlighted the ingredients. The freshness of noodles (prepared in the kitchen) stands out, with the right amount of length, texture and chew. Each mouthful was immensely satisfying. The accompanying broth, in a separate bowl was served hot, well seasoned, had a meaty aroma and was a treat to the taste buds. Since this is a noodle place, you can choose from 4 different types of noodles, depending on the selected dish. They are all prepared before serving. My favorite anywhere has always been the round noodles. So this did hit the spot for me. I used a little of the table chili oil to spice them up. Overall, a wonderful and memorable visit that came coupled with attentive and high class service. read more

Among all the places that were open the night before Christmas Eve, this was one of the more well-lit locations. There's a section where you could see the chefs working hard to make the noodles in the kitchen as well! I ordered the signature beef noodle soup (with flat noodles, no spicy), cucumber salad, and scallion pancakes. I love that you can tell that they hand-made the noodles because some of them were stuck together. The taste of the broth without any spice was savory and refreshing, but I personally feel that a little bit of spice elevated it so much more. I ended up adding two scoops of my boyfriend's spicy beef noodle soup broth to mine and it was perfect. (It was only then when I noticed that chili oil and soy sauce (?) were provided on the table... whoops!) The cucumber salad was very refreshing - I bet it would go great with stir-fry noodles as well! I enjoyed the food here. It was very comforting and flavorful, especially on a somewhat chilly evening. I had their popular Beef Knife Cut Noodle Soup. I had a hard time eating it because I was not skilled using my chopsticks to grab on to the slippery noodles.
