Great quick service. It was a chilly day so we wanted something soupy. You get options from appetizers, noodle soup, and rice dishes. There's an option to choose what type of noodle you want: round, flat, triangle, or knife cut. No matter the type, the noodles were very fresh, you can even see them making it through the large clear room in the back. I ordered the signature beef noodle with triangle noodles. The soup needed a tad bit more seasoning but it was good, especially the noodles. Temperature was perfect. Great quick place to drop by if you're shopping in Pasadena. I would probably come back and try the other items in the menu.
We ordered the chicken noodle soup. It was ok. The triangle noodles were a little hard, soup was a little salty but it was fun to watch chefs make the noodles live in the window. The ambience and service were excellent. Very clean and pretty restaurant. Think I have to try a different kind of noodle.
Noodle St Meeting up with friends in LA and this was such a great spot in Pasadena. It's a cool experience because you can actually see the chef making the noodles right in the window while you're there. I went with the signature beef noodle soup (15.50) and chose the knife cut noodles. The bowl came with sliced beef, radishes, cilantro, and leeks. They were very generous with the amount of noodles they served, though I honestly wish there was a bit more meat included to balance it out. Noodle Street in Pasadena is hands down one of the best spots I've been to in a while! I ordered the black tea at 50% sweetness (perfect balance ) and the beef noodles -- honestly, the best I've ever had. Everything tasted super fresh, and you can literally see them making it fresh right in front of you. That alone lets you know it's legit. I also got the beef roll and it did NOT disappoint. Packed with flavor and made just right. On top of that, it's in such a beautiful part of the city. Pasadena is always a great place to walk around before or after you eat. Definitely a perfect first date spot lol. Great food, great vibe, great location. I'll for sure be back!
There was that familiar Friday night hum in Old Town, the kind where you can feel the weekend settling in before you even sit down. We stopped into Noodle Street for dinner, craving something warm and steady to close out the week. We ordered two bowls of the spicy beef noodle, one savory braised chicken noodle, and a plate of green beans to share. The noodles are what keep us coming back, clearly fresh made with that springy chew that holds up even after sitting in broth for a while. The spicy beef had a deep, slow building heat rather than an aggressive burn, and the broth tasted layered and developed, not rushed. The braised chicken version leaned more comforting and mellow, with tender pieces of chicken that pulled apart easily. The green beans were a nice contrast, cooked just until tender with enough seasoning to make them more than just an afterthought. Everything came out hot and at a steady pace, which made the meal feel relaxed instead of rushed. For a busy Friday night in Old Town Pasadena, that balance stood out. It is one of those dependable spots where you know the noodles will be fresh and the bowls will hit the mark. If you are heading in on a weekend evening, expect some energy in the room, but it is worth it for a solid, satisfying dinner.
Came to Noodle St with my boss during our lunch and it hits every single time! We ordered a variety of foods - garlic string beans, spicy beef noodle soup, beef rolls, scallion pancake, and lamb skewers. My fav is ALWAYS gna be the garlic green beans and spicy beef noodle soup. Service was quick and the establishment felt very clean. I will be back v soon! :)
Tried this place with my sister and mom and we loved it! The cashier, young lady, was NOT friendly at all. She actually had an attitude all interactions we had, BUT I food made up for it. The other interactions we had with a few other people who worked there were very pleasant. We got a beef kbbq rice bowl, and we also got these beef pancake like things, but they weren't pancakes at all.. it was more like a burrito. We loved the detail in the chopsticks definitely took the to go because the quality was great. We sat in the window seat and it was perfect. Great view to people watch! Aside from the cashier everything was great and the restroom was clean! Definitely recommend.
It was a surprisingly short 10 min wait for weekend dinner at 7:30pm. Very bright, spacious and clean inside. Obviously the noodles are the star of the menu but only got the beef roll and lamb skewer this time. Service was attentive. Food came out very quickly. Beef roll was packed with green onions and thinly sliced beef, sweet from the hoisin sauce, and not dry or oily. If you don't like green onions or cilantro, definitely not the dish for you. Lamb skewer was juicy and had a nice kick of spiciness which paired well with the cold refreshing cucumber appetizer. Each dish seemed small but the combination of the 3 was filling You can see the chefs rolling/cooking the noodles and other dishes through the glass in the back. Will definitely try to come back and try one of the fresh noodle dishes since I'm usually always looking for good hand pulled noodles
Pretty good but pricy relative to beef noodle soups. A chain since I think they have one near UCLA also but the chef seems to try to innovate by using kale instead of the typical bok choy. It actually worked so I think that's a smart switch for nutritional value. Lamb skewers were overpriced, 9.95 for those three skewers. Service was friendly, a bit slow but nothing to complain about. Ambiance is a typical restaurant, the bathroom was a bit hard to figure out but it was after a run for me so could be my food starved brain. Would I go again? Probably not on my own but would go if a friend wanted to try it
I'm glad I found this place! I love spicy beef noodle soup but hadn't had it in a while. This rendition featured a lot of kale, I saw some mentioned they order it without - I would consider doing that but I didn't mind it too much. The noodles were terrific and the soup had decent flavor, but I've had better (about an 7.5/10). But for a chain this was solid. The beef roll pancake was really good, and I enjoyed the watermelon juice. My cousin said her shrimp stir fry noodles were a 8.5/10. Service was A1! Cool, modern ambiance. If I'm near a location and need to satisfy a fix, I'd come back. Now time to waddle around these Pasadena streets until I'm not so full! Lol
Visited Noodle St on a whim since I was in the area. I had the Korean BBQ rice bowl which was yummy. My son had the vegetable soup with knife cut noodles which he liked. My husband had a chicken plate with a type of spicy numbing oil that he was not a fan of. As for the service, I was very impressed. They provided bibs and even shears to help cut down pieces of food which was so helpful. They also were accommodating to our small children. Another aspect we enjoyed was the ability to look into the kitchen and see the fresh rice noodles being made!
Overall, a pretty good experience coming here! I'd rate it a solid 3.7 but I can only choose 3 or 4 stars. We came on a Saturday around 6:30pm as a party of two and were seated right away. We got the cucumber salad, beef roll pancake & beef stir fry. We started with the cucumber salad and it the cucumbers were fresh but I didn't love the dressing as much as other places. We got the wide noodles for the beef stir fry and the noodles were great! They were great texturally. The beef roll pancake was great! The beef was flavorful and the texture of the pancake was chewy and crunchy how you'd want it to be. I also got the passion fruit green tea and I loved that there's passion fruit bits/seeds in it. First time coming here and was pleasantly surprised by how chewy the noodles were. I ordered the shrimp stir fry and the noodles were very chewy and flavorful. Sauce was just right, not too salty. We came here for dinner after a huge multi-day event at the Pasadena convention center so it was packed and there was about a half hour wait. Despite how busy it was, the staff was still super friendly, on top of orders and very attentive, which was impressive. My favorite thing on the menu was the Beef Roll Pancake. It definitely left me wanting more and was so good, I ordered one for takeaway! The flavors of the noodle dishes were just okay. Spicy chicken wontons were good but also just okay. The dish ONLY tasted like Szechuan.... Don't recommend. - Beef Roll 4.8/5 Still yummy but seems like they skimp out on the cilantro now! Ask for black vinegar and soy sauce to eat it together. The pancake roll on the outside is so crispy and inside has good flavor. - Spicy Beef Noodle Soup 3.9/5 Chunks of tender beef is yummy. Soup is good. AMAZING!!! Such a hidden gem. Between this location and the one at the Santa Anita mall, this one is far superior. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, beef rolls, and cold noodles and everything was so tasty!! My favorite dish was the spicy beef noodle soup. The broth was so deep and flavorful, I basically ate one noodle per spoonful of soup. The cold noodle was great flavor but the noodles are a bit thick for my preference (I would still order it again though). And you always have to get the beef rolls, they're solid here. The service was good, like a normal Asian restaurant where you get just enough service. Not bad. The beef was well cooked. This soup dish naturally made spicy, I asked for less spicy and it was just the right "kick" without tasting watered down. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. It is tough to find parking. It is metered or by app called passport: a dark blue square with 3 white shapes and a yellow circle on the bottom corner. You enter the allotted time you expect to park, you can always add time if you need. Unless they cap the time frame. You will need your license plate number. Pasadena is notorious for handing out parking tickets. read more
I enjoyed the food here. It was very comforting and flavorful, especially on a somewhat chilly evening. I had their popular Beef Knife Cut Noodle Soup. I had a hard time eating it because I was not skilled using my chopsticks to grab on to the slippery noodles. I think in the future I will just get the standard noodles that I find a lot easier to pick up with chopsticks. Ordered the Signature Beef Noodle Rice Noodle Soup with the standard round noodle option. If you do not have a good tolerance with spice, ask for less spice because there is significantly more chili oil than I had expected. However, the taste when mixed with the broth was still very rich without being overpowering. The standard round noodle has a nice chewiness as is but there are other options if you want to have a chewier noodle type. The portion is a good size and the beef slices are cooked very nicely. This is a safe pick if you're not sure or if this is your first visit. Parking in this area is available at nearby parking garages like the Schoolhouse Garage for a fee or street parking too. read more

I ordered delivery and broth arrived still warm. The broth was oily, delicious and had a lot of meat flavor on it's own. Vinegar, chili and soy sauce were included too. i wasn't a big fan of the sliced meat or triangle noodles. The meat had a slightly gamey flavor and the noodles were fresh but just wasn't my cup of tea. But i'm a cheap store bought Shin ramen kinda girl so... i did order sides of spicy beef chunks which i enjoyed more and also black mushrooms and kale which were fresh and they were generous with. Overall, perfect spot on a cold day or when you need warm soup for your soul kind of day. read more

The menu is simple with mainly noodles but there are other choices like rice dishes, pancakes, etc. Meals: - cucumber salad, $7.80: crunchy hand break cucumber in garlic spicy sauce with cilantro. It is so refreshing and tasty! - spicy beef noodles and signature beef noodles, $16.50 and $15.50 with your choice of noodles (standard round, flat, triangle or knife cut). We had flat noodles. The signature beef noodles is similar to spicy beef noodles except not spicy. The broth is very rich, thick, beef based. Beef shank is used, tender, flavorful. A criminally underrated bowl of noodles, I favor dry noodles myself and the chili oil in the dishes here are done right, and rival any of the northern Chinese restaurants I've frequented in NYC (although both fall short of the real thing in the motherland). Came here to grab lunch while in downtown Pasadena! They were pretty busy for a Sunday Afternoon, but we managed to get seated very quickly. Service was quick! We got the Qinghai Cold Noodle, Beef Rolls, and Spring Cold Noodles, and I would have to say my favorite out of the three are the beef rolls! The beef rolls are very crispy - loved the sauce that they give for you to dip with the beef rolls. Qinghai cold noodles satisfied my cold noodle cravings and was very flavorful, but nothing too crazy about it. However I did really like the Spring Cold Noodles - tender beef, chewy noodles, refreshing veggies, and perfect amount of sauce. I think this place is great for family meals or for big parties! Wow! I just tried this restaurant for the first time and the noodles were so very delicious and I can't wait to go back for more!! I ordered the STIR FRY NOODLES WITH CHICKEN and it is seriously my new favorite dish. And the service was also great. Absolutely loveee this place!!! The noodles here are so fresh and so chewy. My favorite item are the tomato egg noodles and qinghai clear cold noodles. Tomato egg noodles were incredibly delicious and saucy and comes with a huge egg. Qinghai noodles were so chewy and flavorful. Can't wait to come back!!! read more

Wow! What a find? Simple, great service. So delicious. We wanted a snack. We stumbled on Noodle Street & were so delighted with what we found. Everything was delectable. The lamb skewers, although very small were an amazing intriguing flavor that were wonderful to taste. The noodles made fresh, melted in your mouth, the perfect texture, you know when you bite in and it kind of does that soft tension melt in your mouth. Perfectly al dente. We got the classic beef soup. Then we got the chicken wontons, and they are just as good if not better than din Tai fong without the wait. The black tea had absolutely zero bitterness and was the best black tea I've ever had. Nadia was our waitress and she was so sweet, attentive and thoughtful. We will definitely be back and since Irvine is closer, we are excited to see there is one near us. read more

Came during the lunch hour and we were seated very quickly. Service was efficient. Our orders were taken quickly and our food came out quickly, which is perfect when you're hungry! We ordered the beef roll pancake, spicy beef noodle soup (we got it mild), and the cold noodles. You get to choose what kind of noodles you want. I recommend trying the knife cut noodles at least once. But the standout dish for me has to be the cold noodles. They were so refreshing and flavorful! What I liked: - Fast service! - Clean and modern interior - Choice in noodles! - Beef rolls wit lots of green onion - Refreshing cold noodles I recommend parking in one of the nearby public lots. Amazing noodles spot! Had the spicy beef soup with the hand cut flat noodles. It was delicious! Spice did not overpower the broths flavor. The beef was tender and tasty. The fresh kale, scallions, and cilantro were the perfect compliments. Service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere had a minimalist vibe. Lots of wood and white. You can also watch the creation of your noodles and soup through a glass enclosed, open kitchen. The cost was very reasonable as well. Great place! Check it out! read more

The space was very fun and inviting and the menu was simple and clear to understand. I liked that you could pick the type of noodle you wanted with any of the dishes. The kitchen is also behind a huge open window, so it was cool to see my order of knife cut noodles being prepared. I had the knife cut noodles with minced beef sauce. The noodles were really delicious and the bowls were deceptively deep. The portions were quite generous. The beef roll was also really well made. The prices are like $5 more than what you might pay in the SGV, but it's close to where I live and I'd consider it a good option for when you're craving noodles. read more

Our food was excellent; I got the signature beef noodle soup and my husband got the spicy beef noodle soup and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food. We also got the scallions pancakes but I forgot to get a picture. The only downside of our experience was the lack of attentive service. We waited over 25 minutes to place our order which was a bummer. There were signs posted saying they're now hiring though so I'm hoping this was just a unique night. Yes. They do use white sesame seeds in their chili oil condiment jar. The Veggie Noodle Soup does contain sesame oil, but it's removable. Also, the Korean Barbeque Beef with Rice does have white sesame seeds, but removable.
