What a great place! The atmosphere is casual, and there are two lovely young men as servers. Noodle Works has an extensive menu - I chose the lunch special (I believe 11 am - 3 pm) ... I chose the General Tso's Chicken, fried rice and spring rolls. I'm a big eater and still have half of it left on my plate! Every table seems to be getting to-go boxes. The service was fast - seemed like just a few minutes before my food was served - so definitely a great quick lunch spot. The chicken is large, white meat pieces - no mystery meat here! The fried rice got better with each bite! I wanted to try something different so I ordered the Pan Fried Bao - I've never had it before but this was delicious! One side is crispy and the other is soft - with a delicious filling. The dumplings and Bao are noted that they take 15 minutes - so I was alarmist done with my entree when they were served Definitely worth the wait! First-time visit for me a few weeks ago. This is my opportunity to catch up on my review for this restaurart. Hubby had a craving for noodles so we made a turn into the shopping plaza for a meal. You seat yourself and the food server comes by and explains how to order and takes your drink order. My guy was intrigued by the House Special, Won tons in a spicy soup. I ordered spicy Tofu and was asked if I'd like rice. I didn't know it was extra until later. Here you mark off what you want on the paper menu. Drinks came a bit later. We looked around. Brightly lit and clean. No fancy decor. Tables for 2-4 or can accommodate larger groups by moving tables, which happened while we were there. A glassed off kitchen you can see the chef working. The large table ordered before us and their dishes came 10 minutes for most of that group. A few came 5 minutes later. For us? Well... mine came about 15 minutes later. People that came in after us got their food quickly. Left me wondering on how they service tables. As for my other half, it was over 30 minutes. He is not the kind of guy to eat his meal if his food comes first so I do the same even if he encourages me to eat while it's hot. I'm not sure how he kept himself from asking where his meal was especially seeing two tables that came in way after us being served. Thirty minutes or more to serve the second person is too long. The food server came by too see how our meal was and only saw one meal, within 5 minutes he finally got his food. Sure, he liked it . Spicy enough for him but too much sodium. How do I know? His hands turned purple and his arms were red. Not sure if it's salt or MSG. I didn't see if they use or not. If you're watching your sodium intake please ask if they use MSG. As for hubs, he felt better in a few hours and downing loads of water. Not sure if I want to return, purple is not my Husband's shade, but he'll ask about salt. 2 star rating due to long wait for Second person to be served. read more

My sister and mom had recommended this place. I was excited, as I love dim sum and handmade noodles. It was a pretty hot day, in Albuquerque. It was just as hot inside. The front door was propped wide open, when we walked in. It remained open the majority of the time we were in the restaurant. Thankfully, there wasn't a swarm of flies. We went over the menu multiple times. At these types of places, we always end up ordering way more than we need. We did that this time, too. Delicious: ma po tofu. I loved the flavoring. I like mine with a little minced pork, but this vegetarian version was delicious scallion pancake. great flavor, if a little more "golden" around the edges than I prefer won ton soup. great broth, many more dumplings than I had anticipated Not bad at all: pan fried pork dumplings. sauce wasn't anything to write home about. small pan fried pork bao. because they were smaller, the thick dough wasn't as difficult to get through Not worth it: pork bao. The dough was was thicker than it should be. The filling was super tough, which usually means it was overworked before stuffing. We had asked for an order of rice noodles with chicken. We waited and it hadn't come, so I asked the waiter. He checked the menu we wrote on and realized that he had missed our order. Because we had so much food, we asked him to just not put in the order. When this place opened it was phenomenal. We got it again recently and it's not as good. The noodle texture is still fine, but instead of being plain and served with the dish, they're now tossed in a mixture and they taste the same as any other restaurant. One thing they still do great though is the amount of tofu given with a dish- most places skimp on that but I had more than enough with my meal. read more

So I've been working in New Mexico for the last 5 months and I'm tired of eating green chili stuff here because I've been paying the price for it later on the day, so I've been coming to this cute little hideaway place located near Whole Foods. I love how cozy it is in the inside of the restaurant and also the fact that the restaurant DOES NOT pretend to be some kind of uppity restaurant where staff are assholes and prices cost both arms & legs with an eyeball. The food here is for the everyday person looking for simple great tasting food for a VERY fair price. The presentation of the food is impressive and our server: Alicia (who very much looks like Olivia Rodrigo) was very good in her job. She doesn't come over every 5 minutes to pester you while you're eating and she didn't hover behind me to see if I need a refill or blow on my food like some severs do elsewhere. We visited last Sunday for lunch. There were a few tables taken, but plenty open for us to sit and have our order taken immediately. Service was obviously family-run, as the owners sat towards the back and the children of the owners or employees were at the back table. I personally love this feel, so two thumbs up for me for being a closely-held, local business. The husband and I ordered cheese-filled buns for an appetizer (obviously catered towards American tastes) and they were tasty. Fresh and hot, with a nice blend of chewiness and cheese! But the entrees are were where they shown... mostly. My garlic beef and vegetables was fabulous. Fresh, well cooked vegetables and protein, mingling in a tasty pungent sauce and served over freshly made, glorious noodles. I could have eaten it all day long. However, the husband's orange chicken was curiously devoid of any orange taste at all. It actually tasted like nothing. The fried rice he got it with was top-notch, so we chalked it up to either an off day or an off dish. Whoever started this hand-pulled noodle revolution, count me in! What an Albuquerque statement to make. Only recently, like over the past two years, has it been possible to find fresh, homemade pasta of any kind in this city, almost without exception. Consider me spoiled, but my mother made all sorts of pastas in our kitchen, myself often next to her, rolling and slicing. Fresh pasta is unmistakable, it improves any dish, Asian, Italian or otherwise, and it's easily worth dropping a few extra bucks to slurp. From what I can tell, Noodle Works whips up just one version of pasta, it's fettucini wide and not nearly as thick, very soft, even a little velvety. You can pick your topping and again, I have something very Albuquerque to say: I wish somebody would get more aggressive with Chinese food around here. My wife's Kun Pao Chicken (I've only seen "Kung" but, hey, no worries) was precisely as billed, quite good, veggies were fresh, beautifully composed. I was especially excited about the Westland Lamb, having no idea what it was (that's something they really should do with the online menu, add descriptions of dishes), if only because every Asian lamb dish I've ever consumed in bigger cities was unforgettable. On the contrary, Westland was sleepy, I was glad I requested a big cup of chili oil at the register. All that said, I would definitely return and I look forward to exploring this menu. Second time eating here, got beef noodle soup and kung pao chicken. Beef noodle soup was alright, not enough beef for the price, the braised beef soup is much better. Kung pao chicken was a little bit bland, and why too much vegetables compared to chicken. The food is still good but I honestly believe they could increase the portion for their prices. The food here is really good. No doubt. However, the service was awful. Our waiter walked away 3x in the middle of us trying to order. Came here for the Sunday brunch with my sister and cousins. The wait was not long at all since they just opened. We sat outside since the weather was nice. The staff and our waiter were friendly. We ordered a variety! But our favorite was the orange chicken and the Xiao Long Bao. The noodles needed a little bit more flavor to it, but it was still good. The orange chicken was crispy and didn't have a strong taste to it. The Xiao Long Bao was something interesting. I've never had a bao with broth put inside of it. So that was tasty with the sauce that came with it. We also ordered spring rolls but it got into our tummies before I could take a pic of it. The place is a bit stark as far as decor, but that seems normal for a fairly new place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I really loved that they bring you chopsticks automatically. I wish more places did that as I often have to ask. We ordered the Xiao Long Bao, Green Onion Pancake, and Westland Lamb Noodle. This was plenty of food for my husband and I to share. If you are ordering the noodle dishes for one person, be prepared to need a take-out box! The Green Onion Pancake was very tasty with a nice texture. Soft with a slight chewiness. Perfect for dipping into the Westland Lamb Noodle sauce (which I highly recommend). I would suggest an order of these to share and help soak up juices! I could see kids really digging these. The Xiao Long Bao was soooooo delicious! They are fun to eat and had a great flavor. Not 100% sure if these are what they call "soup dumplings", but that's what I thought of as eating. Filled with a delicious meat filling, and amazing broth. If you bite into one and you don't know what to expect it's a mess, but once you get the idea it's very enjoyable and again super tasty. The Westland Lamb Noodles was the star of the show. The soft hand pulled noddles, juicy savory lamb, and variety of vegetables makes this a perfect dish. It was filling and comforting. I can see me wanting to eat this anytime! I can't wait to try all the other noodles and soups they have to offer. Crab wontons were too creamy. No texture. Very disappointed. The Mongolian beef was still cold and the meat, just didn't taste good. Chewy but like fell apart in your mouth. Not impressed. I was originally gonna come in and get takeout but the had some tables set up outside so we decided to dine in instead. We ordered some noodles, potstickers and the xiao long bao (soup dumplings). The technique behind the noodles and dumplings were great. There was a nice chew on the noodles and the dumpling wrappers and the crisp on the potstickers was perfect. The xiao long bao also has a good amount of soup in them. Unfortunately, the flavors were a bit off to me. The broth in the soup was not great. It had an off flavor that I can't really explain. The meat in the dumplings was crumbly, it was missing that juicy bounce that I'm used to. Hopefully the flavors will improve. I'll be back to try it out again, hopefully I can give it a higher rating next time. read more

Located in a nice area of town and tucked in a quiet corner of a shopping strip mall, next to Whole Foods and Home Goods. Tables aligned the sidewalk outside with employees enjoying their dinner. There were not many people inside as we stepped through the front doors. We were seated right away and entertained by our waiter who had a joking personality. He took our order of orange chicken, Mongolian beef, steamed bao, fried dumplings and fried noodles. All was tasty except for the Mongolian beef. It was all bell peppers and onions. The few pieces of beef that were hidden under the veggies were so tough and rubbery, we couldn't even eat it. Better luck next time. However, I'll probably find another place to try before heading back. It was okay. Not super impressed. read more

I had previously asked about the facet noodles. Tonight I ordered facet noodles. It had been described as lots of vegetables in a soup with noodles. As it is more expensive than other dishes I had presumed it had meat my bad. No meat. The lots of vegetables were a few pieces of bokchoy. And to top my disappointment it has peanuts in it. Again I am going to ask please put descriptions of your dishes on your menu and website. This dish was not flavourful and due to no descriptions I would not have picked vegetarian or with peanuts. You really must describe dishes especially with high allergen foods such as peanuts read more

A party of four people seated at 6:00pm. Order was taken quickly and efficiently- but then the service was deplorable. After 25 minutes the manager came over and told one of us they ran out of the Golden Brisket soup. Made an easy change to Braised beef noodle soup. Three of us got our stir fried noodle dishes after about another 20 minutes. The braised beef came out 30 minutes after that... the last item to come out was the steamed SamSun dumplings, 55 minutes after we ordered them. Staff was rude and disinterested, which is a shame because the food was good. The restaurant was about 1/4 full so that wasn't the problem. Plenty of to go orders went past us...
