Happy 2013 homies! Lemme start off my Yelp 2013 eliteness with this 2012-2013 review. I drive past this place every day on my way to and from work and would always to forget to try it. Finally one chilly night in 2012, ok that sounds like an eternity ago but it was really a month ago, I wanted nothing more than soup. Ok maybe some egg rolls too. I finally gave this place a try. I ordered delivery online- super easy! And I got to add my tip in online which was nice too. They have a delivery charge... booo.... but I still wasn't about to lave my nice warm house for anything. I ordered a pho bowl with some beef brisket in it and it was super delish! I put the jalapeno slices in my bowl and man, oh man, lemme tell you... SPIIIIIII....CYYYYY!!!! But in a good way of course! Loved it! I also had 2 of their pork egg rolls which were pretty good too. Nothing to make them stand out from others, but still delicious! On NYE at work I was going to have to work through my lunch in order to get out early and get ready to party like it was 1999. I decided to put in a delivery order to work so I could at least eat a lil sumpin' sumpin' at my desk. I should mention delivery can take up to an hour (nothing new here with delivery) so you should just keep that in mind like I did when I ordered an hour before my "lunch." When my delivery should have gotten there, I got a phone call saying they did not have a delivery boy that day and were unable to bring me my delicious pho. I was uber annoyed but they said they would refund my card. Fast forward to today, the 9th of January and I still haven't been refunded. So I took a trip in there and explained to them the situation and as far as they knew, the card had been refunded. So maybe a mess up by the bank and not them? Either way-I asked that instead of the refund if I could just have the food. I had a long day at work, had to run to school to buy books and was starving! They quickly got my order together, and refunded me the delivery fee of $3. PLUS they were so nice about everything and even gave me two crab rangoon free! HOLLA! They were HUGE and sooooooo amazingly delicious! Probably my favorite I've had by far. Granted there was a little mix up with the delivery boy, and refund, I'll still be going back to this place. I saw their pad thai while I was there and I'm gonna have to give that a try as well. I think I'll be calling my order in though to make sure they are able to deliver. The woman at Noodles Pho U had explained that someone in the family was sick and thats why the delivery guy didn't come in. Enough said! With everyone suffering from the flu lately- no further explanation needed. People get sick, people call off work- shit happens! I'm still giving them 4 stars minus the mishap because of their amazing hospitality when I came in, and my love for their pho and crab rangoon! Oh don't forget their smoothies with tapioca. Place has changed. All the flavors of the food was off. Waited 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by the wait staff. The staff was unorganized and unprofessional, for example every waitress was wearing a different uniform some green to, some ratty t shirts. Use to like this place but something has changed and I will no longer be coming back to my once favorite lunch spot. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and was disappointed. Instead of big, juicy and tender pieces of chicken, this was small and dry. The plastic fork they gave me couldn't penetrate some of the harder pieces. Also, the nuggets were so small, they resembled popcorn chicken or marbles. The worst though was how greasy the food was. This place is a big dissapointment. I went there thinking it would quench my thirst for asian cuisine but it ended up just leaving a bad taste in mouth, literally. I ordered a simple pork chop, which I have ordered many a time at other Vietnamese restaurants, and it was by far the worst. The pork lacked flavor and seemed like it had been sitting out for a while cuz it was served to me barely warm. My sister ordered beef pho, and said it lacked the usual pho taste she knows. Went to Pho U today for lunch with my granddaughter. Very disappointed. Beef flank Pho was loaded with poor quality beef. Tough and tasteless. Most pieces were inedible. We also had beef pad Thai and the beef was awful. Thai ice tea was overpriced and just average. Egg rolls were crisp but the filling was loose and not tasty. Being Vietnamese myself, it's hard to find a place that even compares to my mom's cooking, but Noodles Pho U does the job quiet well. Their broth is savory (depending on what you get) and they have a variation of meat that you can choose from. My boyfriend is in love the the Pho Xhe and I just recently ordered the Thai Tom Yum and let me tell you, it was delicious. As for the appetizers, those potstickers are to die for! I try to get them with every meal. They're small, so it doesn't even seem like you've eaten ten already. The customer service has been superb. Everything is done on time or even sooner than the time they give you. We've ordered there so many times that the delivery guys already know where we live and what we get. All in all, I am a huge of this place and we have ordered here more times than I can count. Fantastic little Glen Ellyn place! read more

One of their dish is way too salty, So I called their manager but he never showed up. i end up getting 1 dollar discount out of $40 of my entire meal. the restaurant is totally not respectful to their customers. I will never come here again. read more

Learned my lesson! Don't order here. I placed an order. When 1.5 hours rolled by, I called to check status of delivery. The manager just kept saying "Hm," repeatedly until she said she didn't have my order and it would be another 25 minutes. "If you didn't get my order, how do you know what I ordered?" Oh, because she actually did have my order. They just didn't make it. Ironic that I previously commented positively on quick delivery. No apologies, and when asked for a refund, she offered to refund the delivery charge. Um, no. You can refund all of it. Honestly, if your attempt at rectifyng your error was not such a cheap blow, then you might have been able to keep this repeat customer. read more

Came back after they remodeled and it definitely looks much nicer and clean. Ordered the rice dish with pork chop, rice cake, tomatoes, and cucumbers was decent. Also got a mango smoothie. would not recommend getting tapioca with it because it hardens really fast! The waiters seemed to be new so the service was not as quick, however, not a big deal. read more

I could have done without this place. I tried ordering lunch from them for delivery to my office because it was a crazy, hectic day and I didn't have time to run out for lunch. My food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time, nice and hot. However, I quickly realized when I got back to my office that they didn't pack a fork for me or any kind of sauce to go with my eggroll. Fortunately I found an old take-out fork in a drawer somewhere or else I would have been eating my yellow curry chicken and rice with my hands. The chicken was okay, but I have definitely had much better and the eggroll was not good at all, but then again I had no sauce to go with it. I am a big fan of noodles, so maybe if I try this place again I will try one of their several noodle dishes. read more

Was searching for Asian fusion place and hit this one by accident.Surprised I never seen this place before ! Very clean,small place,run buy a family. We came in at 2:30 pm and in 15 min 7 out of 9 tables were occupied. As they say- if the asian people eat here , then food must be good. They specialize in Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Spring rolls were enormous,about 8 inches long and full of vegetables and shrimp.Somebody mentioned that pork must be included in that too - There are different variations of spring rolls and this place have about 5 different choices too. just look at the menu more carefully and do not go for obvious stuff-search for goodies :) Their pho soups are delish...mmmm I want more right now.Big bowl,full of fresh veggies and meat ( mostly beef). Prices are 7-8 $ per bowl. I had Mi thai yum -seafood egg noodle in spicy tom yum. No 605 for7,50$ .Not such a great broth- should stayed with beef pho . That's why I'm giving 4 stars. Service was friendly and quick.As always in these kind of places food doesn't necessarily come in order you wanted- they brought a soup for my Gilfriend,then we got the spring rolls and then my soup arrived. By far the worst customer service i have ever experienced! Not so much when we go in to eat but the 2 times we picked up our order, we came home and saw the order was not what we wanted, and when i called to let them know the person listened to my complaint then hung up on me.. So called back and he said to bring back the order, when the place is 20 mins from our house... And he had nothing to say not even one small apology.. He just kept saying "oh yeah? Oh yeah?" So rude and disrespectful to customers.. This place doesn't deserve any business at all.. I came here by recommendation. Ordered #154 and the broth was perfect. Left feeling very satisfied, but had to order the taro smoothie to go. So glad I did. The prices were reasonable and the service was attentive. Cannot wait to come back and try something new. read more

Since my last review we have been there multiple times and the food is more consistent now. I order the vegetarian pho. The Japanese salt and pepper tofu is amazing and spicy. It's one of our favorites. We are back to being regular customers. They have had some turnover in waitstaff and service can be really slow sometimes but I understand in the food business there is probably high turnover in waitstaff. read more

If you're looking for Vietnamese food, you'll be happier driving further and looking elsewhere. If you're desperate and are stuck in this area, Noodles Pho U will do. My first experience was a terrible one (ham banh mi or sandwich that was dry, no flavor, hard to enjoy). I was talked into giving them a second chance. I came back to try their Bun Bo Hue (Spicy beef noodle soup) and I was happy with it. I love the thick vermicelli noodles they used. One time though, I've been served undercooked noddles and they were hard. Still ate it all. The soup was very flavorful, and they gave me plenty of veggies to add to the dish. I still think it's a bit pricey for Vietnamese food, but I'm glad I tried it. (#154) I came back and got this dish again (#154) today-- carry out. They've raised the price while still not putting enough food in this entree to feed an adult. I'm hungry after finishing my meal. This time I bought extra rice noodles so that I would have enough to eat, and I would definitely recommend that unless you don't eat very much. (They gave me a whole Tupperware of broth, though... Just broth. Not helpful.) this is also the second time the lime the provided me was dry and old. I pulled out a withered like slice and squeezed 2 little drops of lime juice out of it. read more

Since the expansion, we got nothing but poor customer service and slow service. We wont comeback anymore.

I have been a customer for a long long time. Their food overall used to be very very tasty and fresh. Over time and since the expansion the wait staff is slow, not very friendly and the food is always wrong. The last 7 times I have eaten there we have had to have food recooked or redone. We also do a lot of takeout/delivery with them and when they pack the food to go, it is always so much less food and things are always wrong. Tonight we ordered a beef and rice dish that we normally get and the portion size was always good. We never want to over eat, but this portions we got tonight were like half the normal meat. This always happens. In my opinion it has gone from a 4.5 to a 2. start. I am sad too as I loved the food at one point. read more

I have eaten a lot of Thai food in my day, and this was hands down the worst I have had. I tried both the Pad Thai with Chicken and the Red Curry with Beef. The Pad Thai was dry and tasteless. The Curry looked like cafeteria food. It was more of a gravy than it was a curry. I do not recommend ordering from here. read more

So excited to see a Vietnamese restaurant near home (about 4 miles away!) I tried them for the first time tonight (take out)... What I ordered: ** Pho Xe Lua (I give this 5 stars). I was about 10 minutes late in picking up my order and when I got the Pho home, it was still super hot. It had generous portions of meat (more than I've experienced at other Vietnamese restaurants). Their basil and jalapenos were fresh. It also come with sprouts, but I don't eat those, so I didn't add them to the bowl. ** Goi Cuon Tom Thit (I give this 4.25 stars). I'd give it a full 5 stars if it came with more shrimp. The wrap was super fresh as well as the ingredients inside the spring roll. I can't wait to go back and try their Banh Xeo! Their staff was really friendly and personable. She would call me by my first name, as if she wanted to remember it. =) I learned that they have been there for 2 years and I hope they stay for many more! Been looking for a good pho place nearby. This place is pretty legit. Being asian i gravitate toward the pho with tripe and tendon and i love it. But the real attraction is the smoothie selection. They have a ton of combinations of smoothies and teas. You can also add some bobas or jellies to it that they have in 3 flavors along with red beans and taro paste. I'm not too into Asian exotic foods but this place looks pretty good. Big bowls of soup and great dishes makes this one of the premier though small places in the West burbs. A total Vietnamese cuisine menu and I recommend the Vietnamese dishes over the usual Chinese ones for a change of pace. The place looks new and I hope it lasts a while. read more
