The food seemed to take a bit longer than expected for as empty as the restaurant was. When it did come out, my dish and my wife's looked surprisingly similar for having ordered 2 different entrees. I'm not sure that they didn't serve us both the same dish, but she had ordered her's with spice, and what the gave me certainly had spice. Overall, the food was good, though I'm no certain it's what we ordered. When we were done eating, we waited and waited, and again had to flag down the waiter for the bill, but he told us we just pay up front, which would have been nice to know sooner. I could go either way on returning. Service as not overly welcoming, and for ordering something with no spice, i was a bit bothered that they gave me a spicy dish.

For my main meal I ordered the chicken tikka masala and you can't go wrong with this pick either. The rice portion was on the smaller end of places that I've been, but by no means was it lacking. The chicken chunks were a bit too big for my taste but the flavor and spice level (I think I went level 4) were enough to put this place in the top 2! To put things in perspective -- I'd say a slice of pepperoni pizza with a few red pepper flakes sprinkled would be spicier. The chana masala was also SUPER oily. I'm not sure if that's normal for them or not -- no matter how many times I stirred it, around 1/4 cup or more of straight oil kept separating out. Beautiful restaurant, clean, quiet, with tasty enough food, but they majorly failed on delivering heat, which is one of the main things I enjoy in Indian food. We were seated immediately, and given time/space to look over the menu, but with our server still hovering nearby in case we had questions or were ready quickly. When we ordered, the server explained the 1-5 spice scale, gave recommendations, and even asked about allergies. After the food came out, he continued to check on us. This is definitely not one of those "abandoned in the corner and ignored" type of establishments. We started with an order of chili paneer, with spice level 2. It was perfectly crunchy and super flavorful. Level 2 has a nice kick to it if you sit for a minute between bites, but it doesn't necessarily light you up either. It is a great level if you're sharing something with someone a little more spice-hesitant. I love paneer, and this appetizer had a generous portion that could easily be a meal for 1 person. For my main, I got the Chana masala, spice level 3. This was absolutely delicious! Spicy, warm, flavorful. Chickpeas had the perfect texture -- not too hard nor too mushy. As a spicy food enjoyer, level 3 was a nice level that is hot and ~just~ starts to make my face flush, but isn't overpowering. A "conversational" level if you will. I could easily order this on a work lunch and could still eat with decorum. We also got garlic naan, which is always a hit, but done absolutely perfectly here. Pillowy, soft, fresh, and generous with the garlic.
