Saw an instagram post about this establishment so stopped by. It is on the corner of Fraser St and Broadway and there is plenty of free street parking in the area. Opted for the chicken donair with tabbouleh, tomatoes, lettuce, hummus and teziki. Quick efficient service. The taste was great...and it is a good value lunch at $13.49. I do find it challenging to eat a donair and not have my hands covered in the sauces at the end so highly recommend plenty of napkins...and ideally a place to wash your hands after. The donair shop is inside a convenience store, but don't be put off by that, it's the real deal. I got the falafel platter and a pistachio baklava. It was one of the best falafel plates I've had in a while: big falafel patties smothered in flavourful sauces on top of qabuli rice with loads of juicy raisins (so great that qabuli rice is an option), fresh and tangy salad, smooth and rich hummus. I am very picky about baklava and so usually skip it, but theirs looked promising and I didn't regret getting it - it was appropriately moist but not cloyingly syrupy and the filo layers struck just the right balance of flakiness and melt-in-your-mouth softness. It's open until midnight so I was able to count on them for a late night meal. I took mine out but there's two tables inside and I think a few counter seats. The attached convenience store also looks like it has a big variety of snacks, candy, cereal, ice cream, etc. I've only actually shopped here once when I was in a pinch for some white chocolate for a recipe I was in the middle of baking and didn't want to run to the grocery store, and they had it - yay. Try the lamb shank donair plate!! Small Donair shop inside of the convenience store. Two tables inside for dine in. Very much a hole in the wall, but the food is great!! The lamb shank was huge, very very tender and just sits ontop a bed of scented rice, sauces and comes with a side of hummus and a salad. I'd just ask for some salt/pepper to season it a little more to your oreference. Basically came here just to try this as I haven't really seen this at other donair/schwarma restaurants. Bought a couple of chicken donairs for my nephews and a chicken platter for myself as a take out. I waited a few minutes as he had just put in a fresh cylinder of chicken on the rotisserie. Judging by the customers who walked in there are a lot of regulars. I brought my own container for the platter order. The chicken was tender and flavourful. The dish came with a cucumber salad, tahini and pita bread. A great value. Service was friendly and the place is also a very clean and orderly store. Lots of ice cream and chips variety here including the locally made Nora's vegan ice cream. I will come back for donairs and samosas. read more

I don't understand what all the hype is about. Ordered the chicken platter with rice & pita. Chicken was lightly seasoned with curry spices, as was the basmati rice. Tiny portion of salad. The hummus is more moist than other places, nice texture. But the serving size is quite small for what you pay for. I've been coming to Noor for the better part of five years, and I've finally decided to write a review because I think it's important to know. Something is wrong with their refrigerators. Just this week I bought both a litre of milk and a small carton of half&half. Both expired a week at least ahead of their expiry dates. I tried speaking with the man at the till about it, a very friendly guy, but he offered little sympathy, even seeming to think I was somehow wrong about it. But the curdled cream in my coffee very much proved that theory. This isn't the first time I've had things go bad within days of bringing them home, and I've even seen moldy bread on their shelves. Their Donair is reasonably priced and pretty decent, but I wouldn't recommend buying your groceries here. read more

These guys are just great. The store is well lit, the products well priced for a convenience store, the staff are super friendly and helpful. And they're 24-hours a day. Who would have thought some of the best falafel can be found at a convenience store? For 8$ I got 3 falafel balls on rice with garlic and hot sauce, a side of pita with hummus and some Greek salad. The falafel wasn't crispy on the outside like I'm used to, but none the less, the spices and moistness made them a perfect light meal. I have to admit, the rice came in a close second to the falafel. An unlikely place to find some really tasty grub. The super chicken donair is my go-to and man, is it a good value! They really pack it with meat and douse it with garlic sauce, tatziki, and hot sauce, so it's not dry and chock full of filler like other places tend to make. It is juicy and I must warn you, at times it can get messy towards the end. I tried the falafel once, and unfortunately I cannot recommend it. How so? It was nuked right before my eyes! I can make crispy, fluffier ones at home :D Service is quick and friendly. What more can you ask? The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because there seems to be some inconsistency with portions. The difference between a 'regular' and 'super' can sometimes be iffy. It depends on who's making it for you, or maybe if they're having a good day or bad, or perhaps maybe I'm looking particularly cute or scrubby...I don't know!!! read more

Yes I bought a donair from a convenience store. And yes it was really good! The price is right (I think $7.50 for a regular donair) and while it wasn't the best I'd ever had, it was very satisfying and a good portion. I will definitely be coming back here since it is affordable, quick, tasty, and a 5 minute walk from my house. Really glad I stopped in here! read more

Sol which is now Noor Market is a wonderful addition to the sometimes sketchy corner that is Fraser and Broadway. As a corner store this place is bright, clean and the staff are super friendly. Good little neighbourhood convenience store that also serves up decent falafel/donairs. As a vegan, a good option and the store also carries some healthier options such as Amy's soups, coconut water, almon milk, cliff bars and more. Service is always friendly, too. read more

Got to check out this Noor convenience store locate on corner of Fraser and broadway , the name use to be sol but I like the new name and logo better. This is nothing like the rest of convienience store , as soon as you walk into the store before anything else you can hear a greeting with a big smile from the gentlemen behind the counter, the staff is so friendly. It is a true one stop shop , you pretty much can find anything you need in there. The store is very bright and clean, the display is nice and full ,, their pricing is very reasonable , the beauty of it you can get in and out of there with stuff you need real fast. And if you are hungry you can grab you lunch at the Donair stand they have isside the store for $5. read more

Consistently very tasty, good value, seems pretty clean, friendly service. Perfect ratio of ingredients and sauces. A decent sized donair goes for about $7. I always go for chicken. One star taken away because the last time I went, the beef/lamb was in a frozen block sitting on a stationary rotisserie. Again, I never order the beef/lamb but I'm not liable to change that any time soon after seeing it resting there in all it's frosty glory. Also, no pickles? What the heck. I went to purchase some snacks and the first time I used my card and the till my card had an error and didn't work. The owner proceeded to tell me I was costing him money for the paper that was used. Never tried the donair or food here. But this place is actually snacks galore! And the staff is so friendly oh my goodness I miss them. You can tell that the cashiers here deal with a fair amount of bs (I've seen ppl come in trying to shoplift, cause a scene etc) probably the convenient location on broadway doesn't help this. But this doesn't stop the staff here providing extremely friendly service and going above and beyond. read more

Well I don't go to East Van much but was happy to stumble on this place after a course this week. Open until 11, and serving donairs and other similar fare. I had the chicken donair "Caribbean" though they spell it differently, and it had chutney; again different spelling. Now, I swear by Donair Dude in downtown and essentially never go anywhere else for such food, but this was really good. A little less expensive, large pita with fresh ingredients, and the chutney was amazing. My full mouth of first bite spouted "Oh Man!" a little to my embarrassment. I wish they had pickled cabbage but that seems a bit unique to Donair Dude. Only "beef" is that that the ingredients could have been mixed up more. Depending on where you bite you're getting either mostly meat or mostly lettuce; but hell I've never made a donair so what do I know. Finished the chutney in the first half and was left with the hot sauce (whoah!) for the rest. Good and memorable though. read more
