We went when the restaurant had just opened so there was plenty of seating but the restaurant is on the smaller side. The Duck Agnolotti pasta (with morel mushroom I think) blew my mind. There was so much depth in the flavors. It was both savory with hints of lemon zest but the zest was not overpowering. They were very understanding for our bigger party and pushing back our reservation. Seems like you definitely need a reservation, since it was quite packed. The food was outstanding. We started with the focaccia with olive tapenade. Great bread and a great set up for the rest of the meal. The best of quintessential SF hospitality! My buddy's and I met in the Marina for drinks and after several rounds hit the street looking for food. We stumbled onto Norcina and after a brief wait were ushered in to a table. At first glance, Norcina is a small, modest restaurant; but the culinary surprises unfolded over time. Delicious!!! Baked oysters to start! Amazing variety of pastas; really spectacular and noteworthy because all of the pasta dough is made at Norcina. Next, a delicious pizza made in trucks fired pizza oven; then we all shared an entree of chicken paillard and short ribs. The food was spectacular and the service impeccable. I have always loved Norcina. Ever since they first opened I have been a constant customer. Their whole menu is always fantastic. The service is nice and friendly and the ambiance is beautiful inside the restaurant and the outside tables as well. One of my favorite dishes has been the corn caramelle and my fiancés favorite is the truffle raviolo, but everything is great. The pizza has a great rustic feel with beautiful char. What an incredible spot! We had such a great time at Norcina. The food was outstanding--we ordered the radiatore pasta and the Italian chopper salad, and both were absolutely delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor! The Aperol Spritz was also spot on--refreshing and perfectly made. I absolutely loved this place. I came here to catch up with some friends and first of all the ambiance is amazing. The service is great! It's a very small and quaint restaurant that feels very homey and relaxing. The food and drinks were amazing. I personally had gotten the arrabiata and I absolutely loved it. This review is LONG overdue! We came across Norcina in the neighborhood over a year ago after a recent trip to Sicily and craving delicious pasta/pizza. After the first bite, I felt like was transported back to Italy!!! Every dish is absolutely spectacular but my heart belongs to the spaghetti & clam which is hands down the best pasta my mouth could ever dream of tasting. Nor-sting-ya pizza with hot honey, cacio e pepe and truffle ravioli are our other favs. The wine selection can be perfectly paired with each dish and the spritz's are another taste of Italy! We dined a Norcina with friends who are frequent diners. The service and the outdoor seating were wonderful. The food left a lot to be desired, but maybe we went on an off night. We enjoyed the focaccia and olives to start as well as the burrata. All of these dishes were good. The focaccia is not traditional or authentic. It's more like a fluffy, lightly grilled bread, but it was tasty nonetheless. The spritz flights are probably the most remarkable thing we enjoyed that evening. The pasta dishes average at best. My ravioli were undercooked and the stuffing was very dry. My husband's Caccio e pepe was, I hate to say, the worst we've ever had. I don't even think they should call it caccio e pepe, simply because what they are serving is also not authentic, so it's misleading to those who are accustomed to the traditional version. Theirs is a very peppery pasta noodle in a sauce that lacked flavor. Unfortunately this dish was not a hit for us. Again, the service was lovely and attentive. Short review: I got the margherita pizza here and it was pretty good. The mozzarella cheese is fresh and has a nice firmness to it. The crust is crisp and tasted like sourdough. I enjoyed the sprinkle of Parmesan around the crust that gives it some more flavor. Only thing I would have enjoyed is a bit more basil on top. Pizza is good here. Nice little spot in Marina with a doggo that's around by the name of Frank :) I came here on a week day night with 3 friends around 5pm. It was slow so service was really fast. The inside is a little smaller but the outdoor patio is nice and good for groups. Obviously Marina can be chilly so be prepared for it to be cold if you sit outside, depending on season. The house focaccia was really good. I loved the olive tapande, and I usually hat olives. I would def order it again. The meatballs were pretty big and good. Norcina was an incredible time -- food, ambiance, service, and all! It's a pretty little restaurant off Chestnut street, with a huge heated patio and a cozy interior. We came in for a group lunch and tried a little bit of a lot of things, and each of them was awesome. For food, we got the corn caramelle (5/5), the zucchini blossom pasta (4/5), and sausage rigatoni (4/5), the funky funghi pizza (5/5), and the pistachio and mortadella pizza (5/5). Really, everything was quite delicious. The corn caramelle was sweet and savory, and the brown butter added depth to it. We also loved the burst of local cherry tomatoes in the dish. The sausage and cream rigatoni was also tasty and not too heavy, and the zucchini blossom pasta was unique -- but I thought could have done with some more salt or a bit of a kick. It was really the pizza that stole the show for us. The funky funghi was loaded with confit garlic, a variety of savory mushrooms, and crispy kale bits. The pesto on it took it over the edge. The pistachio pizza was super creamy and perfectly balanced too -- it was salty mortadella and pistachio bits, but was also creamy because of the sweet pistachio cream drizzled on top. They were really generous with the toppings and the crust bubbly and salty and soft. If you step inside the restaurant, you can see the chefs diligently making the pizza in their beautiful pizza oven. I also loved the strawberry spritz, and being able to experience the open kitchen while enjoying their drinks and food rounded out the visit. This place is perfect for groups because they can accommodate large parties at short notice -- and perfect for girls night because of the huge selection of drinks and apps!
