Ignored us for 30min. Didn't even asked for drinks despite the restaurant being empty. Would not recommend

Had my first (and likely last) Norms experience the other night. It was 10:30 so not many options for a full service restaurant. The wait staff was friendly and prompt and we were seated immediately. That is where the good news ends. The booth we sat in was torn and dirty. When we were served our food, the patty melt was increidbly greasy and the steak my girlfriend was served should never have made it to the plate. It was chewy and fatty. To top it off, my lemonade refill was served in a dirty glass (literally a streak of dirt down the inside). You get what you pay for. Dennys is a step up. I will be sticking to Mels. read more

Norms has been our go to place for family outings and breakfast. But the last few times I have to say has been horrible. The staff and management are rude, disrespectful, and unapproachable. It's time to find a new place where you are respected and the food is good and the wait isn't 3 hours long. This was my first time at Norms and I gotta say, I love the place. It is so spacious and big and well lit. It gives you the feel of a old time diner that you only see in movies and I absolutely adore that. This is just like any diners out there so the customer service can be a hit and miss. Our server Maria was exceptional and I respect that she was so patient with us and got us everything in a timely manner. Out of all the diners I've gone to around town, I enjoyed this Country Fried Steak the most. Although the hashbrowns were slightly burnt, I still ate it. Better crunchy than still hard to chew from being undercooked. :) I think I will go back someday, I really enjoyed my first time there and hopefully will be able to share the atmosphere with friends. It is much louder than Denny's or Ihop but I'm okay with it. The only thing I think we shouldn't get charged for is the fried Jalapeño...$1. But it's not a biggie. read more

I have never had such horrible setvice. The waitress Kimberly treated our table like we had the plague. She was attentive to all the customers but us. She brought us our food and check at the same time and never came back. Even though dessert came with our dinner. I even had to get our own to go containers myself . She would even turn her head when she walked by us so we could not make eye contact to fet her attention. Needless to say we were the only Afican American table in there. I just experienced the worst of all. If I could give a zero star I will. I've been coming to this place for years and have always left satisfied. But today I had the worst service not even when the place is extremely busy! I waited for almost two hours to get my meal and HAD TO REQUEST TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER! I complained in regards to my meal not being here and when it gets here my plates were cold sitting who knows how long for it to be served! When I informed her of it she asked "well what would you like me to do" I said fix me a new plate still giving the benefit of a doubt! Then my plates come back the same meet! And I had asked for medium well! . So of-course I didn't finish and I went to the front to pay! When I asked I would like to speak to her she came out bothered I told her with my voice upset that if this was the kinda service they provide the food not even cooked properly! And still had given me the recipe! So I did I was making my point across so she kicked me out of the restaurant telling me to forget about it and she will void the recipe but to get out! How can someone with a high standards restaurant and high volume of clientele treat you that way and be kicked out! Not even a damn apology! Did I receive. And the end I tell her I will place a Yelp review she is like go for and do that she didn't even care!!! I just hope I don't get stomach sick! I like this place and the servers BUT.... let me tell you what I don't like. This place has a sign up that says customers paying by credit card must show id. What the crazy??! Lemme hit you up with some info. If you are paying by credit card, and that credit card is signed it is against the credit card companies (V/MC) terms of service to ask for their customers ID. I just wrote another review for another norms for the same thing so I'm wondering if it's a POC thing or just a Norms doesn't understand what their company did in order to be able to use V/MC Again, when a store signs up to use Visa/MC they accept their TOS which says that IDs are NOT required when purchasing IF THE CARD IS SIGNED. IF ANY STORE ASKS YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION, call them on it and get a manager asap, call you credit card company as well to report them. Identity theft is real and handing your information ie. your driver's license (that shows your name, address, dob) to someone who shouldn't be asking for it, you're taking a chance. I know it's a bit alarmist but I'm pissed that Norms practices this and again most of their clientele probably doesn't have a clue. Denny's still my fave. Pancake at Norms pretty bland. Not really impressed. So think twice you wait in line.

We got a wonderful server called Kristina who made us feel super welcome, got our order to perfection, made excellent food and drink recommendations, and made our night so much brighter with her cheerful interaction. My Chicken from the Alfredo pasta was over cooked and seasoned too much.. asked for better fries cause we received burned and hard fries.. still didn't get better fries! I have made it to this location a few times now and have been really impressed with the value, the variety and the quick service. I have ordered the $8.99 steak and eggs combo both times with a side of fried jalepenos (makes the meal). The steak is cooked to order and is usually on the safe side of any request. I have ordered medium/well and it comes out just a tad over that. Keep this in mind when placing yours. The fried jalepenos are not breaded, but simply cooked in oil which keeps them light and allows them to spicy of the dish for a mexican touch to the meal. Personally this is what keeps me coming back over the IHOPs and Dennys also located in the area. Be ware of long lines for any weekend morning, however they do move through people fairly quickly as it is a large restaurant. Its open 24 hours and would be great craving food as well. read more

Honestly the food was pretty subpar. It didn't help that the eggs, hash browns, bacon and the ham were all cold- barely warm at all. And the Cajun tots didn't have any Cajun on it lol. Didn't help that the cups were dirty too. The waiter was nice but was not attending our table at all. We had to practically hail him down, and he didn't bring our pancakes either but served it to other tables, till we asked him. I came here with my wife to have dinner last night 12/1/19. Our server was Maria, very polite and attentive waitress. We waited a while to have an order taken but we didn't mind, we had our order taken and got our drinks soup and salads, got the wrong dressing but I like ranch anyway so no complaints on this part. The part that I'm really upset is that my wife ordered the filet mignon and shrimp and ended up with a New York steak and shrimp. The two cuts are totally different and anyone would notice it and the textures as well. We told Maria about it and gracefully took it back to the chef and told us to wait a few minutes and she would bring the fillet mignon. Another server brought the steak out and we realized it was the same cut, New York steak, but it was overcooked. We don't know what the chef and Maria talked about, maybe he understood that it wasn't cooked properly and cooked another one of the same cut or maybe he was having a bad day. Bottom line is, we like norms and come here often, don't switch and bait, don't misrepresent steak cut, don't lie, because it affects business. Nobody likes to go out to a place of business and be cheated. My wife ended up taking home a steak she didn't want. Came here because we were craving some late night breakfast. We were seated in the back section at a booth. They weren't insane busy; a steady flow of people there, but nothing that would excuse the service we received. We waited 10 minutes for someone to ask if we wanted a drink, then waiting an additional 10 minutes for said drinks (a dr pepper and a hot chocolate). Our waitress then took our food order. Open 24/7! I come here on Monday nights with my parents! Server Sean, came by and introduce himself. Started of with steak dinner special and steak breakfast!! Coffee refill, is a must. Steak is always delicious whenever I come by. Fast service!! I will definitely tell my friends to come by! The other server Sara, came in to take over. She was awesome. Ok so it's low to no thrills, crazy busy diner atmosphere but for a good straight forward, classic breakfast at a great price this where you come. To skip the line find a spot a the counter to chat with the waitresses or sit in complete silence as everything and everyone buzzes by. Wow there is still no option to leave 0 stars?? This place is a disgrace to all restaurants. My family and I do group activities every week and pick a restaurant to eat at after. Today we picked Norms after a crazy 8.2 mile hike. We came here starving and excited (there was 10 of us and it was my first time). It's a Sunday so hearing a 30-40 minute was understandable. However after waiting 30 minutes I went in to check where we were time wise and again was told "30-40 minutes" I kindly told the server, "how is that possible when we've already waited 30 minutes and another 30-40 minutes?" The whole time she didn't even make eye contact with me or treat me like a normal person. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes!!! We finally sat, and ordered. The server didn't even write down our order so it was obvious that when the food came to the table it was all wrong. Mine was missing tomatoes when my cousin had hers removed (allergic) and let me tell you we didn't even order the same meal so there was no simple plate placement mistake. After starving to death, and finally eating, we get the bill and there was extra surplus charge and we were never even told about it!! We complained and it's supposed to be 25 cent charge but some of us had $1 and up! The workers were soooooooo rude! Disrespectful! They talk to you like you're scum and constant eye rolling which we all had a feeling was because they were being biased. We asked for a manager to discuss the surcharge thinking we finally will talk to someone professional and not just some person off the street but wait for it....the manager was the worst of them all. My entire family is so sweet, we never want to bother anyone but the way we were treated by these people is beyond explainable. Finally the manager caught their fault, we paid in card but she said she couldn't give the money owed back in cash and only in food. We caved in and just asked for pancakes then, we get home and these incompetent workers had the audacity to Give us burned pancakes as payback. I attached a picture of the one Slice I had to-go'd at the restaurant and the 2 slices they gave us instead of our money. This is outrageous! First time trying NORMS and I just have to say Maria our waitress made this whole experience amazing. The food was great I got a breakfast meal with a coffee my wife got a club sandwich meal and her cousin got another breakfast meal as well with a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was delicious and had unlimited free refills which I've never seen. You can see with all of the staff that they are busting their asses off instead of just standing around. But the way Maria took care of us is the only reason why I came on here to write this review. read more

Asked for a booth so prob that's why it took a while to get a seat.. but when it came for them to just take my order (like i said i have a favorite norms so i do go to norms often & i already know what i want to order) they say is down n it took a good 10 mins for them to ask what we want to drink so i just said my order right after i said what i want to drink.. & I'm not joking it legit took 20 mins to get our food.. i was not happy at all with how my plate was my sons fries were really over cooked n my food was under cooked read more

Decided to try this place after driving past it for years because it was one of the few places open early on a Sunday morning before church. Called in our order and went to pick it up...got home and my roommates entire order was horrible...her bacon was overcooked, her sausage patty was burned on one side, and the sad thing about it is that whoever boxed it up, took the time to place the burned side down...lastly, her french toast was 3 slices of bread with egg fried on each side...it's hard to explain, so I've attached pictures and a video....I compared what she got to the picture on the website of what it was supposed to look like...the manager told us that was the way they do their french toast.....Anyway, called the restaurant and stated the issues and asked to get a refund...we were told to bring the food back and we would...we get there, talk to the manager about the food, show her and she has the nerve to tell us she doesn't give refunds but can give us a gift certificate to use another time...umm Hell No! We have no plans to ever return....my roommate, who has had no breakfast and is already upset becomes even more upset hearing that from a manager that she won't get a refund and is close to tears...the manager tells her to calm down....not cool since her morning has already been ruined and she now has to go to church hungry and frustrated....she asks us how we paid for the meal and when I tell her I paid cash, she's all of a sudden able to give us a refund...Worst experience ever!
