Excellent food with friendly service! We ordered the tri tip sandwich and the salad with pulled pork. The tri tip was super tender and lean...sliced perfectly...and stacked high on an oiled, grilled roll. Onions and pickles are on the side. Yum!! The salad had super fresh and tender greens, lots of yummy pulled pork on top, grape tomatoes , bacon, shredded cheese and choice of dressing. I added a side of the poppyseed coleslaw and put it on top of the salad with some of the yellow BBQ sauce along with the balsamic dressing. It was very delicious! I would order it again exactly the same way! We loved the patio with the shade and the music. They offer discounts for law enforcement and military! We'll definitely be back! read more

We stumbled on this place while we were driving around Bass Lake, and what a fortunate accident it was. We arrived not too long before closing (they had to close early due to a catering engagement). They were very friendly, dog friendly too. We ate outdoors on the patio and were treated to some outstanding hospitality and BBQ. Great music selection too. My wife had the Linguica sausage (we'd never heard of it before) and I had the Tri-tip. Both were outstanding and the Linguica sausage was a real treat (hope I can find some were we live in Colorado). The sauces were also very well done. If we lived anywhere close, I can tell you that we'd be regulars. Kudos to the whole team for making us and our GSD feel welcome and well fed. If you find yourself near Oakdale, it's well worth the drive to visit. read more

Great location! You can smell the BBQ smoke the moment you step out of your vehicle! And you won't be disappointed! Hubby and I both ordered the tri tip sandwich. He got rice pilaf, and I got the ranch style beans. The portions are perfect and cooked perfectly! They put so much tender sliced tri tip on the sandwich that you won't go away hungry! Came here for the first time today. We at inside and it is funky, fun, and comfortable inside. There is music playing and enough room for a lot of people. The owner is friendly and is willing to sit with you and go over the whole menu. The food came quickly and let me tell you....the food was delicious. I had the tri-tip sandwich and my wife and mother-in-law had the pulled pork sandwich. ALL of the food was well seasoned, tender, and juicy. The slaw was also delicious!! I didn't like it at all! The soot was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful but the food was nothing special at all. I ordered the tri tip salad and a side of there linguiça and my son ordered the kids sliders and I was pretty unimpressed. The menus was small, not to much to choose from not very many sides to chose from, there house bbq sauce wasn't that great either. If your looking for a good place to get some really good bbq go check out Smoke House 41 just down the street. If this place lasts more that a year or two hopefully they get some more verity on there menu. read more

Hubby and I visited this place last weekend, the military memorabilia brought us many memories of our own time served as we waited for our food. Upon arrival, I had walked to the counter to place my order only to have the young woman turn her back to me, without a word or even a glance, and she stayed on the phone, for well over 5 minutes. Other employees walked by, without acknowledging me, back and forth to the kitchen. I stayed, turned to look at my husband as he sat and played on his phone. Finally, the front counter was done with the phone and I thought was going to take my order since I had been waiting for her but, instead she greeted a regular customer who stepped in front of me to get a take out order. Great first impression. But, we both as veterans, agreed to give this place a shot. I ordered for both my husband and myself, I had a tri-tip plate with baked beans and rice pilaf, he had the linguica with chili beans and broccoli slaw. My tri tip was cold, I wasn't offered a knife to cut the huge chunks, I opened the small styrofoam containers of beans and rice, which were also almost cold, and tried them. The beans had some grisly chewy "meat" but the amount of salt was overwhelming! The rice pilaf aka chow hall rice was so salty that my dog wouldn't eat it when I gave it to him later that day. My plastic coke cup had chips around the brim and looked very well used, I had tried to eat the tri-tip, I ended up tearing a few pieces apart with my fingers and had sought out condiments but, even the barbecue sauces on the front counter were both nearly empty and had a disgusting crust on each of their nozzles. Hubby said that his broccoli slaw was mostly vinegar, I saw that the linguica was covered in mounds of cheese and chili which had melted and congealed together in a huge lump, the bun was soaked and when he tried the sausage after digging it out, it was cold in the center. He also commented on the excessive saltiness of the beans. I'd have to say that the ambiance, the food and the service don't even compare to the chow hall. Had to try out the new breakfast burrito from the new breakfast menu. I ordered the brisket and wow they hit this out the park. Very delicious and filling. These are not small wimpy artisan type burritos they are large and generous with the meat, potatoes, eggs and cheese. Good thing is they open early so all the locals who work in the woods and are early risers get a great deal on some wonderful food to start out your day. Highly recommend. Out side by the BBQ there was TRASH all around spilling out of a small trash can, the grate to the BBQ was filthy We got 2 of the custom plates, 1 with tri tip & the chicken. Potato salad tasted like store bought Mac & Cheese was so heavy & dense plus it was spicy which was a shock to someone who can't do spicy! The tri tip was fine but it was early in the evening theBBQ was cold so how is was cooked long before we got it. The chicken was dried and very hard to chew, like jerky! So disappointing! 3 youngsters were working long hair should be pulled back & rinsing hands is not washing them! It took 30 mins before we got our food. Odd for premade food!
